Angered by Yoichi's defiance and in a twisted show of affection, All For One forced onto his younger brother a Quirk that allowed him to stockpile power within his body. However, unbeknownst to him, Yoichi already had a Quirk with no other power than to transfer it to another person. The transference Quirk and the power stockpiling Quirk merged to form One For All. Yoichi was freed from All For One's grasp by a resistance leader named Toshitsugu Kudo and his second-in-command, Bruce Lee. Eventually, his brother managed to track them down in an attempt to reclaim him, and when they tried to flee, All For One killed him. Yoichi's blood splattered all over Kudo as he and his resistance escaped, and shortly afterward, he began feeling weird effects in his body. Bruce examined him and discovered that alongside his original Quirk Factor, there existed another, almost insignificant Quirk Factor as well, which Kudo realized was Yoichi's lingering will, having passed on within him. All For One came to this same conclusion after discovering Yoichi's Quirk to be missing from the remaining left hand he had kept of his body, and realized Yoichi was still out there. A long time ago, two brothers were born, with the oldest possessing a Meta Ability that allows him to steal other people's Meta Abilities and transfer them to others, while the younger brother seemingly did not have one.[3] The older brother, now calling himself All For One, rose to power while his younger brother, whom he named Yoichi, was weak and frail with a very fragile body, and opposed his brother's rule. Bruce was able to deduce how the Quirk functioned, that when the Quirk is transferred to another, so too is the stockpiled power, and realized that it would have to become entrusted to the future generation of Heroes with the hope that they would be able to cultivate enough power to use it to put a stop to All For One; as a result, Bruce sarcastically referred to this power as "One For All".[6] Meanwhile, the Villain made it his mission to track down the users of the Quirk, all to reclaim Yoichi, whom he considered his "first possession". He tracked down and killed Kudo, who had already transferred the Quirk to Bruce, while the resistance leader mockingly smiled at the "crying" Villain. While in hiding, Bruce came to learn of a hermit named Hikage Shinomori, who he believed would be a good fit in order to inherit the Quirk and continue its growth in power, so entrusted One For All to him. He then took the rest of the resistance back to his homeland, in which All For One followed and killed them all, but with the Quirk no where in sight. Before then, Bruce would also start to feel interesting effects even after transferring One For All, not yet realizing those were the remaining embers of the power that still linger within. As the now fourth user, Hikage believed that he would not be able to defeat All For One and decided to use his "turn" with One For All to seclude himself and train the Quirk to be as strong as possible. However, after eighteen years, his body unexpectedly started to deteriorate. Though he blamed it on an unknown disease at the time, in reality, possessing One For All and his original Quirk had dramatically shortened his lifespan, forcing him to pass it on shortly before dying. Hikage tracked down the Hero known as Lariat, real name Daigoro Banjo, who was one of the few Heroes still fighting in the streets to return the peace after All For One and his armies had worked to wipe most of them out. Upon learning about One For All, Daigoro accepted the Quirk, with Hikage dying shortly after. However, with his new increase in power, All For One, who had not paid any attention to Lariat beforehand, realized he now possessed One For All, and prepared to go after him. As Daigoro continued to get stronger and battle All For One's forces as the fifth user, he met a young hero named En Tayutai, who wanted to be of help to the cause and assist Daigoro. However, knowing about Hikage's seclusion beliefs, as well as the fates of Kudo and Bruce, Daigoro knew of the incredible danger that would result in getting involved with One For All and tried to dissuade him. Unfortunately, when it came time to face All For One in battle, Daigoro was not strong enough, as the Villain attempted to steal One For All back, but surprisingly, it failed. Daigoro was able to pass on the Quirk to En, who was nearby still trying to help, shouting for him to escape and that it's "[his] turn", before he was killed by All For One. With the power now entrusted to him as the sixth user, En began to form up a new resistance group to counter All For One, which included Gran Torino and the husband of Nana Shimura. Nana had wanted to take a more active part in the resistance herself, but was dissuaded by the others for her safety, as she was also taking care of her child. After Mr. Shimura's death, however, Nana forced herself into becoming more involved. During another battle against All For One, he once again tried to steal the Quirk from En, only for it to once again fail, this failure being the result of the Symbol of Evil not being able to muster the hatred to overcome the fragments of the wielders' consciousness. Before En died, he was able to pass on the Quirk to Nana nearby, as she escaped through his Smokescreen. After sending her child away so that he wouldn't become a target for All For One, the now seventh user Nana worked together with Gran Torino in order to continue cultivating the power of One For All. It was around this time she met a young Quirkless man named Toshinori Yagi, who wanted Nana to take him on as an apprentice. Despite being powerless, seeing his resolve and determination to be a symbol that could return society back to peaceful times inspired Nana, as she became the first One For All user to choose a successor to pass the Quirk along to. She transferred the Quirk to the now eighth user, allowing him to attend U.A. High School and training him for several years until she also met a grisly fate at All For One's hands. After graduating, in order to keep him away from All For One, Gran Torino had Toshinori move to the United States. By the time he returned, now as the hero All Might, Toshinori demonstrated a level of power far beyond any One For All user previously, being effortlessly able to defeat most of All For One's forces and driving the Villain into a corner. At long last, All Might was able to defeat All For One in battle, but suffered critical injuries in the process. Despite said injuries and the pleading of his friend and Sidekick, Sir Nighteye, who desired him to pick a successor as soon as possible so he can retire, All Might refused and continued fighting for another six years, putting the Symbol of Peace's tenure as One For All's wielder at 40 years. Eventually, and after much deliberation, he accepted a job to teach at U.A., where he would be able to find a successor among the impressive bodies. However beforehand, he encountered Izuku, a Quirkless boy just like he was. Impressed with Izuku's drive to become a hero and his selfless spirit, All Might chooses him to become the ninth wielder. Unlike most of the other One For All users, who were able to acclimate their bodies to the power stored within One For All relatively seamlessly, as a result of the immense power All Might wielded, Izuku required intensively heavy training in his body in order to handle the power, or else risk his own being blown apart. It took him about a year of training before accepting the Quirk to handle just 5% of it, and over the course of his U.A. school life, developed further ways to possess more power without injuring himself. While the Quirk was initially perceived as primarily a source of tremendous power, things started to change as Izuku became more accustomed to the Quirk, and it reached the "point of singularity". Not only did the consciousnesses of the previous users gain a more physical form within a Vestige realm that could communicate with each other and Izuku, when prior they were only echoes seen in dreams, but also the Quirks of the predecessors emerged from One For All's core, allowing Izuku to use them. This sudden growth led to Toshinori researching the users' past to find any information to aid Izuku. It was here when he discovered the autopsy behind Hikage's death, and while he was unsure about it at the time, Toshinori speculated that he'd been able to continue using One For All for so long because, unlike most of its other wielders, he was Quirkless. Due to this revelation, according to Yoichi, Izuku would be the last user of One For All, as it can only be handled by someone who was originally Quirkless, considering said population has dramatically decreased through the generations. Realizing he could not steal One For All himself, All For One decided he needed someone with highly malicious intent, powerful enough to overpower the will of both the wielder and the other consciousnesses within One For All. He groomed Tomura Shigaraki for that purpose and filled him with hatred. Then, All For One transplanted his original Quirk into Tomura and seized control of the younger villain. Using Tomura's will, All For One attempted to steal One For All from Izuku, but was thwarted by Yoichi and Nana. Knowing that Tomura's body was still incomplete, All For One retreated and began to wait for its completion. Very few were informed of One For All's true nature, fearing what Villains would do if they found out that the world's most powerful Quirk could be transferred, as well as discourse among fellow Heroes and the general public. Other than the users, All For One, and his confidant Kyudai Garaki, the only known people who knew the truth were Nana's partner Gran Torino, Toshinori's Sidekick Sir Nighteye, U.A. staff Principal Nezu and Recovery Girl, and police detective Naomasa Tsukauchi. After Izuku nearly gave away the secret to Katsuki Bakugo out of guilt, the latter managed to deduce most of the truth, with the rest explained to him by Toshinori. However, after the Paranormal Liberation War, the name of "One For All" was leaked to the public when people overheard Endeavor and Burnin mentioning it during his fight with Tomura. Initially unaware of what it meant, people were able to piece together that it is related to All For One due to the similar name. In the aftermath of the War, Toshinori was confronted by Best Jeanist and Hawks about One For All and how it was connected to Tomura chasing after Izuku during the battle, so Toshinori discloses everything to Endeavor, Hawks, and Best Jeanist. Izuku and Toshinori also proceed to reveal the truth to Izuku's mother, Inko Midoriya, and Izuku himself writes personalized letters to each of his classmates in Class 1-A about the secret before leaving U.A. High. At a press conference, Endeavor, along with Hawks and Best Jeanist, deny knowing anything about One For All to protect Toshinori and Izuku. However, the public continued to question the Heroes, as more information started to leak out. While unaware of its transferable origins, many civilians had deduced that One For All is an extraordinary power that Izuku possesses, which is why Tomura is targeting him; this is then confirmed to the civilians seeking sanctuary at U.A. High School. Most of the significant Heroes now know the truth, as they used this knowledge in their planning for the Final War to defeat the Villains for good. Due to the relationship between One For All and All For One, Izuku is given the primary role in directly dealing with Tomura and All For One's Vestige, having trained and mastered the Quirk enough to unlock all the Quirks of the users and use their power to achieve an equivalent of 120% of One For All's power. It has become so powerful it helped disrupt All For One's forceful merging with Tomura, allowing Tomura to strike back at his master and attain full use of the All For One Quirk itself. Proclaiming he does not need One For All, Tomura's goals fully diverge from his master as he proceeds to face down Izuku to destroy him and his Quirk for good, aiming to remove the one person capable of halting his quest for global annihilation. During their battle, Tomura manages to steal Danger Sense, revealing that he now possesses the superior willpower to take One For All and its individual Quirk Factors, intending to do so to get rid of Izuku for good. After Izuku and the Vestiges discover a mental scar within Tomura's own Vestige core as a result of his fight with Star and Stripe, they decide to take advantage of that weak spot to inflict damage onto Tomura from within to completely weaken his spirit. To accomplish this, Izuku forcefully transfers all of the remaining Quirks within One For All via blood transfusion, successfully inflicting heavy damage upon the Villain, while also making each of the powers unusable to him. Eventually, even the original One For All Quirk is transferred, succeeding in destroying Tomura's mental scape, while also destroying the Quirk itself, leaving Izuku Quirkless once again, with just the embers remaining. After one final encounter with All For One within Tomura's body, All For One is reunited with the flickering remains of Yoichi's Vestige. All For One breaks down in a panic, declaring all he ever wanted was for Yoichi to be his, before he is finally taken out for good by the combined efforts of Izuku, the One For All Vestiges, and even Tomura. Izuku would then hold onto the remaining embers of One For All until at the latest of his U.A. graduation, where they finally flicker out. Once he returns to being a Pro Hero eight years after the Final War, Izuku would continue to keep the legacy of his original Quirk alive by becoming the One For All Hero: Deku. All For One (オール・フォー・ワン, Ōru Fō Wan) was the Quirk used by All For One before being transferred to his successor, Tomura Shigaraki, while keeping a duplicate. A weaker version of the Quirk was also used by Nine. All For One allows the user to steal Quirks from anyone they touch for personal use or transfer the stolen Quirks to anyone, during which red streams of energy emerge from the user to indicate that a Quirk is being taken or given. It also allows the user to wield several Quirks simultaneously. The process of giving and taking away Quirks is done by touch through a hole in the palm of the user's hand. When in use, the Quirk tends to emit streams energy when giving or taking a person's Quirk, though it can also be done discreetly and without the victim's knowledge. A victim whose Quirk has been stolen becomes Quirkless and loses any abnormal features if the powers are Mutant-types. Interestingly, even if the user holds Mutant-type Quirks, the subsequent features do not permanently manifest on the user's body, and they can summon the mutant features at will. Additionally, when a Quirk is stolen, the victim becomes disoriented and immobile for a short time. Meanwhile, Quirkless people who receive a Quirk through All For One can manifest all its attributes. On another note, if a Quirkless person receives a Mutant-type Quirk, there is a chance that the transformation will manifest differently than it did with the original user. All For One is also capable of stealing not only Quirks, but also Quirk Factors before they manifest as functioning abilities, as seen with Tenko Shimura, whose unformed Quirk was stolen from him when he was a baby. Rarely, a Quirk granted by this ability can blend with the recipient's original Quirk, creating an entirely new power, as shown with One For All resulting from the fusion of Yoichi Shigaraki's Quirk Bestowal and the Power Stock Quirk. In addition, it is also possible for the Quirks stored within All For One to be combined with other Quirks to boost their efficiency, as demonstrated with All For One's lie detection Quirk that he stole when Quirks first emerged. All For One can be used to combine several Quirks to create devastating techniques, which would typically not be possible with the usage of only one Quirk.[4] Furthermore, it can also be used to help restrict a Quirk's drawbacks and weaknesses through the usage of other Quirks, allowing the user to easily handle multiple powers without facing repercussions to their body. All For One's first user intended to have Tomura inherit his Quirk, implying that transferring All For One itself to another person is possible. The villain even intended to transfer the Quirk to Izuku Midoriya or another hero, although it's unclear whether such an action is possible as he was acting out of desperation. It may be unlikely, as it was evedinced that the Quirk itself, just before All For One was sent to Tartarus, was extracted from his body and duplicated by Doctor Kyudai Garaki, with the original being kept on standby to be passed on to Tomura. At the same time, the Symbol of Evil retained the copied version of his original Quirk.[6] It has been shown that the recipient of the All For One Quirk itself can access the Quirks that the previous user possessed due to the said powers becoming applications of All For One, rather than extra Quirks. Another facet of receiving this power is having a mental link with the previous user, whose psyche was imprinted onto the All For One Quirk. As a result, Tomura exhibits some of his master's personality traits and can meet with a Vestige of All For One within his own mind. This is similar to how the wills of the One For All users are integrated into One For All itself, which has evolved to the point where Izuku can communicate with the previous inheritors of the said power. It was soon revealed that both cases are due to the familiar spectacle that Quirks, much like organs during organ transplants, retain the consciousness of their donor, whose power was granted to the recipient. All For One seems to grant access to a mental world, similar to its counterpart, One For All, as shown when Tomura tries to steal One For All from Izuku. When this happened, the mental realms of both Quirks became connected temporarily, and the current users and the stored consciousness of previous users were shown inhabiting the same mental realm. Furthermore, since the Quirks are counterparts to each other, the Vestiges of the earlier users resonate with the other Quirk and can peer into each other's inner workings, as shown when Tomura and All For One can see the Vestiges of the previous users of One For All alongside Izuku during their subsequent encounter. The Yakuza (極道, Gokudō) refers to Japanese organized crime syndicates and their members. Prior to the Quirk Phenomenon, the Yakuza were the primary criminal element in Japan, but after the rise of Heroes and Villains, the Yakuza ended up falling from glory. The Creature Rejection Clan (異い形ぎょう排はい斥せき主しゅ義ぎ集しゅう団だん, Igyō Haiseki Shugi Shūdan), abbreviated as CRC, was a villainous organization of religious nature which sought to exterminate people with Mutant-type Quirks from civilization. It was destroyed by the League of Villains. The Hero Public Safety Commission (ヒーロー公安委員会, Hīrō Kōan Iinkai) is a law enforcement agency responsible for managing the interactions between Heroes and society as a whole and for investigating the most dangerous cases of criminality. Final War Arc: The heroes and the Paranormal Liberation Front engage in their final, all-out confrontation to determine the fate of their world. He is also described as a hard worker. Along with a strong sense of dignity, Mashirao can be described as sheepish and bashful, not very often enjoying the spotlight and being easily embarrassed. He is humble yet also reliable and focused during hero work. A recurring joke is that others view Mashirao as "plain," which profoundly upsets him, showing that he's sensitive and self-conscious about his personality and abilities. He tends to be shocked quite easily, such as when he sees Ochaco punch herself in the face and when Eri receives a much bigger sword than her during Class 1-A's Christmas party. Occasionally, Mashirao will hang his tail over his shoulder, presumably to take the weight of it off of his lower body. Additionally, when something excites him, he wags his tail, though this is only ever seen in the manga. Denki Kaminari Appearance: Denki has short gold hair, parted to the right with a black lightning-shaped streak on the left of his side fringe, which is angled to partially obscure his left eye. He has slanted, somewhat triangular golden eyes and notably small eyebrows. He's slimmer than most male students in his class, with little visible muscle mass. During the Paranormal Liberation War, Denki gained a scar on his upper left forehead following his injury from Mr. Compress' attack, although his hair covers it rather well. Denki's original hero costume consists of a plain white shirt, over which he wears an open black jacket with a white lightning pattern across his back, with matching pants with two lines running down his legs and brown shoes. He has a single, square-shaped earphone over his right ear, resembling a radio antenna sticking out of the top. His updated hero costume consists of a slightly shorter black jacket with fewer white patterns, only two near the hem and collar, and a yellow-rimmed white lightning bolt around each of his shoulders. He still wears matching black pants and brown shoes, but the pants only have a small white zig-zag near each of their cuffs. He wears a white belt that holds his pointer ammo with and a white V-neck shirt. Around his right wrist, he wears a wristband with a circular mechanism from which he can shoot disc-shaped Pointers, which aid him in aiming his Quirk. He also wears a black choker with a silver buckle on the left side and a headset with a blue-tinted visor. Eight years after the Final War, Denki has grown taller and leaner, and his hero costume was updated again. The Sharpshooting Gear has been upgraded to be more streamlined, slicker, and less bulky than the original version, and it also has ammunition capsules around the wrist. His headset now includes a lightning-bolt extension on the left, and each side of his pants have also been changed to feature multiple white patterns instead of one. Personality: Denki is a friendly, social, and energetic boy who enjoys hanging out with others. He is rather casual when interacting with other people, including the generally unfriendly Katsuki Bakugo, although he's not above petty complaining or overreacting if he feels annoyed or shocked enough. Denki may come off as blunt and reckless at times but is always well-meaning. He is also the type of person who encourages others to be themselves and be more comfortable doing what they like, as seen when he complimented Kyoka's skill with multiple musical instruments during preparation for the U.A. School Festival. Denki is somewhat flirtatious towards the girls in and out of his class, sometimes accompanying Minoru Mineta on his schemes and trying to pass himself off as a smooth talker. He is not very lucky with his approaches, though, frequently having his advances ignored or outright rejected by those he asks out. Denki is also a bit of a jokester and sometimes teases others with playful comments. Overall, Denki is interested in appearing cool and trendy to impress people but has a shallow understanding of how to do so properly. Because of that, he is easily influenced by what's popular or stylish at the moment, even if it's due to villain action. Denki isn't very academically bright, requiring massive help with studying due to his general disinterest and neglect of school duties. He does not appear to pay much attention in classes, gets quickly bored from lectures, and suffers anxiety attacks when dealing with tests, at which point he becomes increasingly agitated and aggressive. Frequently showing a lack of tact and smarts in and outside of school, Denki may give off the impression of being stupid or foolish, leading others to throw snide remarks at him, especially Kyoka Jiro, or underestimate his capabilities as a hero. Despite this, Denki can show surprising knowledge about specific areas such as literature, art, and music, possessing an extensive vocabulary that shows up now and then. Denki becomes distraught when put into stressful situations, appearing spineless and incompetent to foes and allies alike. During combat, he is swift to panic and may accidentally activate his Quirk in the face of imminent danger, leaving himself vulnerable. He becomes more reluctant to use his full power when there are allies close to him, being afraid of hurting them through collateral damage from his explosive bolts. He becomes more confident in his fighting abilities when he is assured that all his allies will be safe from his powers. He does not tolerate others looking down on him and his classmates, and will defend them if necessary. Whenever Denki exceeds his wattage limit, he loses his ability to discharge electricity and his entire personality changes into that of a giggling idiot for a certain period of time until he reverts back to normal. In this state, he is always giving two thumbs-ups as a way of letting others know that he is okay. Eijiro Kirishima Appearance: Eijiro is a muscular young man of average height and a rather impressive physique for his young age. He has red eyes pointed slightly inwards, and a small scar just above his right eye. He also has small eyebrows and pointed teeth. His hair is somewhat long, dyed a bright red, and spiked away from his head at all angles with gel, with two more pronounced tufts spiked on either side of his forehead like little horns. This lofty style takes a full three minutes to set. During his time in Mustafa Private Middle School, however, his hair was black and left in its natural state: just under shoulder length with some shorter bangs between his eyes. He changed it to his current style shortly after being accepted into U.A. High. His middle school uniform was a short-sleeve, button-up white shirt that was tucked in, black pants, and brown dress shoes. In his hero costume, Eijiro wears two dark red gear-shaped shoulder pads. A similar colored jagged sash joins the one on his left to the right side of his belt, which has a red "R" set into its center, standing for his hero name: Red Riot. Below this, he wears baggy black pants and a red half cape with a ripped hem. He also sports dark red boots and thick rings around his calves. He leaves his chest bare and wears a wired guard around his face, reaching from just above his hairline to below his jaw, an extra piece going over the bridge of his nose, and some spiked pieces around his mouth that resemble little fangs. Overall, the look slightly resembles that of an Oni. During the Provisional Hero License Exam Arc, Eijiro's costume later gained black sleeves, which he wears to prevent civilians from being hurt by his Quirk, Hardening, during rescues. Eight years later after the end of the Final War, Eijiro has grown taller and bulkier. His hair has gotten spikier and a bit longer, extending to his shoulders. He also has two spiky strands sticking up like a horn. His hero costume also remains identical aside from a longer half cape. Personality: Eijiro is a boisterous and outgoing guy with a fondness for manliness, often using the terms "manly" and "unmanly" to describe things and people he does or doesn't like, respectively. Those who showcase a noble, brave, or determined attitude tend to emotionally move him to tears, quickly earning his complete admiration, respect, and friendship. Similarly, he will call out traits that are the opposite of that, such as cowardice and dirty play. Eijiro is determined and selfless, bravely putting the safety of others before himself. He is also a big fan of Crimson Riot, a retro hero from whom he takes inspiration, including personal values and his hero name. Eijiro is very honest and kind-hearted, having a straightforward way of thinking and following a specific code of chivalry that motivates him to live without regret. Thanks to his respectful and encouraging attitude, he's easily capable of making friends with most people he encounters, particularly those that show as much passion and resolve as he does. Loyal and dedicated to his friends, Eijiro is willing to break laws and rules to help or save them, becoming regretful if he cannot come to their aid. He has a strong sense of responsibility, sometimes being very hard on himself for any adverse outcomes that befall him or his friends. As such, he's always thinking about further improving his abilities and strengths to not feel weak or burdensome to others, which is how Eijiro overcame his earlier impulsiveness in battle and weak academic performance; as a result of his hard work, he's become smarter and wiser over time. Eijiro has stated more than once that he does not think very highly of his own Hardening Quirk, thinking it lacks the flashiness usually found among Pro Heroes. He will get downright offended if he sees someone with a similar Quirk.[8] Eijiro is worried about not having a good enough Quirk for hero work and that his skills could not compare to other hero prospects. A lot of this self-doubt seems to have come from an incident in Junior High when he saw Mina Ashido stop an underclassman from being bullied and save some students from a threatening figure. His friends pointed out that Mina would quickly become a hero due to her outgoing personality and athletic nature. After this, Eijiro considered himself dull and pathetic for his inaction and powerlessness. However, thanks to an old, recorded interview featuring his idol, Eijiro gained the perspective he needed to regain his composure and overcome most insecurities. From that point on, Eijiro started working, studying, and training diligently. Eijiro decided to reinvent himself after being accepted into U.A. High, adopting a tough, confident, fiery persona that he considers ideal for the hero he wants to be: Red Riot. While Eijiro may not be as hot-blooded and competitive as Katsuki Bakugo, he does not shy away from comparing himself to him, with Izuku stating that the two have managed to develop a relationship as equals. As a result, Eijiro is notably one of the few people that Katsuki holds in higher esteem. Koji Koda Appearance: Koji is a tall young man of a broad, muscular build with peach-colored skin. His head takes the form of a rock, which is unevenly shaped and pointed at the top of his head, and his jaw is square-shaped. From the back of his head, thick hair-like protrusions slope downwards. His hero costume is a tight yellow suit, only reaching to his knees and elbows, with a large red marking over his torso and at the ends of his sleeves. On his chest, there's a symbol resembling an open mouth, and he wears yellow shoes with red lining. In preparation for the Provisional Hero License Exam, Koji added two white straps over his shoulders and wears a mask that covers his entire face that resembles a duck's bill, with holes above over his mouth so his voice still can be heard when he's using his Quirk. His shoes were swapped out in favor of boots. During the Final War, the tip of Koji's head becomes much more prominent, forming multiple pointy structures resembling spiky rocks. These are revealed to be his horns, which were inherited from his mother. Eight years later after the end of the Final War, Koji has grown taller, his horns have grown, and his hero costume has been updated. Now, he no longer wears a mask that covers his entire face, but a strap normal mask. Personality: Contrary to his powerful and brutish appearance, Koji is timid and quiet. As such, he rarely speaks and prefers using sign language to communicate with his classmates, so much so that Kyoka Jiro assumed that he was mute and was greatly surprised when Koji spoke. According to Fumikage Tokoyami, he is very good at keeping secrets. He also hates violence due to his kind-hearted nature. He appears to enjoy the company of animals, even owning a small rabbit as a pet. With his Quirk, Anivoice Koji can interact with them in ways others can't. He also owns a few animal dolls and decorations in his room, implying he likes cute things. Koji suffers from entomophobia, being deathly afraid of bugs, with the mere sight of them making him scream and run away in fear. However, Koji is capable of putting this fear aside if it means helping his comrades, as was shown during the Joint Training Battle when he attempted to use bugs alongside Eijiro Kirishima to take down Jurota Shishida. Throughout his time at U.A., Koji has gradually grown out of his initially meek nature, becoming a bit more vocal and aiding his classmates with hero work. During the Final War, alongside Mezo Shoji, Koji was determined to put a stop to the heteromorphs raiding Central Hospital. At the height of the conflict, Koji showed a rare instance of anger towards Takaie Kanigumo for attempting to provoke Mezo, causing his Quirk to awaken. It is revealed here that Koji was inspired by his father, who encouraged him not to back down when people made fun of those who are close to him. Rikido Sato Appearance: Rikido is a tall, very muscular young man with a broad build. His brown hair is short and spiked upwards away from his head. He has relatively tiny, square-shaped eyes with small black pupils and a pair of bushy eyebrows just above. Rikido bears huge, thick lips, slightly darker than the rest of his skin, and a notably large, round nose. Rikido's hero costume consists of a yellow full-body suit covering his body, the only exceptions being the holes around his mouth, eyes, and hair. He wears white gloves, boots, and a utility belt around his waist, storing small quantities of sugar inside its pouches. Eight years later after the end of the Final War, Rikido has grown taller and bulkier, has a sleeker jawline with light stubble around it, and his hero costume has been updated. He doesn't wear a full body suit, losing the mask top, and his gloves have become more jagged. Personality: Rikido is interested in sweets and baking, a valuable skill due to his Quirk. He is surprisingly talented at making sweets conquering his classmates with his food. The fact that this overly optimistic reaction caught Rikido off guard suggests that he doesn't think much of his abilities as a confectioner.[6] Nevertheless, every week in the dorms, Rikido bakes sweets and shares them with his classmates, which he calls "Sugar Time". To create a gourmet night, he pairs his sweets with Momo Yaoyorozu's tea. He can cook other food, too, as shown during the Christmas party. Mezo Shoji Appearance: Mezo is a tall, muscular young man with pale gray hair swept forwards, covering most of his face, and bent downwards at almost a right angle over his eye. He has six arms attached by a web of skin; the arms are very physically strong, and while his Quirk is not in use, only the front two arms have hands, the rest ending in thin stumps. While less pronounced in the anime, he has a slightly elongated face; his eyes set more towards the sides, the majority of which, due to his scars, he has always kept hidden by a blue mask, which covers him from just below his eyes to the base of his neck. He is rarely seen without it, as he doesn't appear when the other students are bathing in the hot springs, and he wears it with every outfit. To speak and eat, he grows a mouth on the end of one of his tentacles, although once, in the Quirk Training Camp, when his arm was injured, he was seen speaking with his actual mouth. Although he has no discernible ears, he doesn't have to use his Quirk to hear. During school hours, he wears the regular male U.A. uniform, the only notable difference between his and the other students' being that he is sleeveless to make room for his six tentacles, and he wears a waistcoat rather than a blazer. He also doesn't wear the usual brown dress shoes, replacing them with thick-soled black espadrilles. His hero costume consists of a tight blue tank top, six white markings resembling eyes, connected at the top to a darker, more indigo-colored mask, its design the same as the one he usually wears. He has a belt with another, larger eye shape embedded into its center, this time yellow, below which he wears slightly baggy trousers to match his shirt, two darker lines running down the sides of his legs, and indigo boots. After his mask was torn during his fight with Spinner, alongside many rioting civilians during the Final War, he is revealed to have an elongated face without a nose, as well as an extended mouth with large teeth and prominent scars around his lips, one running from the back, downwards towards his neck. Eight years later after the end of the Final War, Mezo has grown huge, taller, more bulker arms, and he wears a ponytail at the back of his head with a few strands sticking out. Personality: Despite his frightening appearance, Mezo is friendly and gentle and will work nicely with anyone. He is not the type to hold grudges, showing no ill will towards those that harm him unwillingly. Mezo is entirely selfless and willing to risk his life for anyone. He can be empathetic and understanding but still shows a sense of maturity and responsibility that prevents him from acting under emotional impulses, even if he feels regretful. He is very protective of his classmates, especially if they are hurt or injured. Mezo claims to hold no desire for material needs, being okay with having few possessions of his own, and this is a trait he has been carrying since childhood. Mezo is also quite thick-skinned, as he said he was used to being feared and seemed unfazed when Pony Tsunotori called him an octopus and said she didn't like to look at him. In Mezo's hometown, there is still prejudice against those whose bodies are altered outwardly by their Quirks, and people are often frightened of him. He started wearing his signature mask because his face made a young girl cry, and he didn't want to cause any sadness. He also states that his facial scars and the fact that he is a heteromorph can make people assume that he became a hero to enact vengeance on the people who scarred him, which is not true. Part of his motivation to be a hero is to tear down the societal walls that have stood in the way of heteromorphs like himself for over a century. However, he also knows that he can't do so in a single generation, and as such, he has a marked distaste for shortsightedness regarding the use of force and violence to head such a change in society. Kyoka Jiro Appearance: Kyoka is a petite, fair-skinned girl with a slender build. She has triangular onyx eyes with notably long lower eyelashes and small eyebrows. Her dark-purple hair is chin length, with an asymmetrical fringe that has two reflections shaped like sound waves on either side. She also has two chin length strands framing her face, and keeps the rest up to her neck. Her most prominent features are the flexible, plug-like earphone jacks hanging from each of her earlobes; they act like extra limbs that she is able to control at will, and change their length if so desired. Following the Paranormal Liberation War, she gains a small scar on her right earphone jack. During the Final War, her left ear and earphone jack are blown off by All For One. Unlike the other students, Kyoka sometimes wears a waistcoat over her school uniform, in place of the usual U.A. blazer. Her hero costume consists of a black leather jacket, long salmon-colored shirt with several rips at the collar and hem, black pants, and boots with stereos built into their shafts. She also has two small, triangular red paint marks just below her eyes, a plain black choker, and white fingerless gloves. Later on, her costume gains a set of headphones with two bracelets that double up as her amplifiers and she changes her face paint to two larger chevron-shaped marks. Shortly after the Final War, Kyoka wears a prosthetic in place of her left ear and earphone jack, with the jack being flesh-colored with the front end separated by a shade of pink. Eight years after the Final War, Kyoka has grown taller, and the back part of her hair has grown out and now reaches her shoulders. Her updated hero costume now consists of a black sleeveless jacket over a white tank top, a new set of silver and purple headphones over her prosthetic left ear, and two mid-length black bands and salmon gloves for her Amplifier Jack. She also wears black nail polish. Her boots now have two holes in the soles of them. Personality: Kyoka has a pragmatic, unenthusiastic, blunt, and teasing personality that is mostly shown to those she finds irritating, like her fellow classmate Denki Kaminari, whose cluelessness makes him an easy target for her snarky comments. Kyoka is not always like this though, as she does enjoy socializing with others, in which case she is usually nice and friendly, most notably with Momo Yaoyorozu and the other girls in her class. Kyoka often gesticulates through her elongated earlobes in place of her hands.[9] She can also be quite aggressive, evidenced by when she uses the Earphone Jacks her Quirk provides, to physically punish people when provoked or to keep them in line, most notably Denki and Minoru Mineta. During hero activities, however, Kyoka prefers smarter approaches, usually by coming up with a plan herself. She is surprisingly organized and makes sure to convey her ideas in a way that's easy to understand. Despite the fact that she comes off as cold and indifferent, Kyoka also has a much more sensitive side, being very defensive towards her friends, empathetic with others' feelings, and getting flustered when her talents and capabilities are brought up. While Kyoka is hard to unnerve or surprise, she is afraid of horror-based activities, and has an aversion to nudity. She is a bit self-conscious about her looks and style as well, becoming noticeably upset when she was not seen as attractive by Minoru, and attacking Denki and Yuga Aoyama for commenting that her dorm room was unladylike. Like her parents, Kyoka has a major interest in rock music and owns several instruments which she is able to play to some extent. However, she seemed to be somewhat embarrassed about her interests at first, because she perceived them as completely unrelated to heroism, but thanks to a great presentation during the U.A. School Festival, she was able to outgrow that mindset. Hanta Sero Appearance: Hanta is a tall, lean young man with chin-length black hair spiked downwards, with jagged bangs coming about halfway down his forehead. He has almond-shaped eyes, usually stretched quite broad and rather large, with small pupils and straight teeth that dominate his grin; however, according to Katsuki Bakugo[6] and Present Mic,[7] he has a rather plain face. His elbows have the shape of cylindrical tape dispensers, from which he fires his Tape Quirk. His hero costume consists of a black, skin-tight bodysuit with a turtleneck, plain apart from a white design on his mid-torso area, and two yellow trimmings around each of his elbow-length sleeves. He wears white boots lined with yellow and has short white bands around his waist and the sides of his thighs, a larger one across his chest to connect his shoulder pads, shaped like tape dispensers. He completes his outfit with a yellow helmet, shaped similarly to his shoulder pads, with a sizeable black visor obscuring his face. Eight years later after the end of the Final War, Hanta has grown taller, is slightly muscular, and grew out a thin beard. His hero costume is also updated, with a redesigned helmet, and black wrist straps. Personality: Hanta is amicable and has proven to be one of the more sociable members of Class 1-A. He can sometimes be loud and showy, often trying to impress his peers with his Quirk. He is often the only person to call his classmates out when they act crazy. He is pretty humorous and usually makes jokes with his classmates. However, when push comes to shove, Hanta is a brave hero-in-training who wishes to prosper on his own while helping others do the same. He makes friends with those around him and is shown to be a very laid-back guy. Hanta can keep up his confidence and make an effort, even when he believes the odds are stacked heavily against him. This determination is shown when he faced Shoto Todoroki during the Sports Festival and admitted that he felt he couldn't win, but he soon attacked Shoto, saying that he didn't want to lose either. Despite his crushing defeat afterward and failing the Final Exam due to being put asleep by Midnight, he still retains his willingness to continue and improve alongside his classmates. Hanta has a teasing side that he shows on occasion, even towards the high-tempered Katsuki Bakugo, as he was seen jeering at him along with Minoru Mineta for not cleaning their dorms windowsills properly. He can also be one to speak his mind and at times insult others without meaning to, such as when he compared the functions of Momo Yaoyorozu’s Creation Quirk to the excrement process, upsetting her and then being forced to apologize by Kyoka Jiro. Though not openly flirtatious like Denki or Minoru, Hanta still has some interest in girls. This is primarily seen during the Provisional License Exam when Izuku informs him of the girl who transformed into a clone of Ochaco; he starts violently shaking Izuku and asking him if she was naked then as well. Later, he informed Denki and Minoru of what happened with Izuku and "Camie", proving that he also has a habit of spreading gossip.
