Keys: vampire batpony, batpony, batponies, bat pony, thestral, fruit batponies, vampire bat ponies, fruit batpony, vampire bat pony, vampire batponies, fruit bat ponies, fruit bat pony, thestrals, bat ponies

Thestrals, colloquially known as 'bat ponies,' represent a specialized evolutionary offshoot of pegasi adapted for nocturnal existence and environments.

Bat-like Wings: Unlike the feathered wings of standard pegasi, thestral wings feature leathery membranes stretched across elongated phalanges, similar to bat wings. These wings connect from shoulder to mid-flank, with specialized skin that contains thousands of tiny sensory receptors providing extraordinary air-pressure awareness. This structure allows for near-silent flight and exceptional maneuverability, particularly in enclosed spaces like caves or dense forests. The membrane's elasticity grants greater wing articulation, enabling thestrals to fold their wings more compactly against their bodies than standard pegasi.

Nocturnal Vision: Thestral eyes feature distinctive vertical slit pupils that can expand dramatically in darkness to maximize light capture, unlike the round pupils of other pony types. This adaptation allows precise control over light intake, protecting their sensitive retinas when transitioning between light levels. Their retinas contain predominantly rod cells rather than cones, sacrificing some color perception for superior low-light sensitivity. This specialized visual structure enables them to navigate effectively in near-total darkness without needing the eye-shine common in other nocturnal creatures.

Echolocation Capabilities: Thestrals possess specialized vocal structures and enlarged ear canals that enable basic echolocation. They can emit high-frequency sounds inaudible to most other species and interpret the returning echoes to create spatial awareness. While not as sophisticated as bat echolocation, this ability supplements their vision in extreme darkness or when navigating unfamiliar terrain. Their distinctively larger, more mobile ears can independently rotate to capture sounds with remarkable precision. Whenever batponies use echolocation, they click their tongues and listen intently for the echo.

Specialized Dentition: Thestral dental structure includes slightly elongated canine teeth often mistaken for "fangs" by uninformed observers. These specialized teeth primarily aid in tearing tough vegetation and fruits that comprise their natural diet, though they can serve as defensive weapons if necessary. Despite popular misconceptions, these teeth are not used for blood consumption, as thestrals remain herbivorous like all ponies.

Nocturnal Adaptations: Thestral metabolism functions optimally during nighttime hours, with specialized melatonin regulation that reverses the typical pony sleep cycle. Their body temperature runs slightly lower than other pony types, reducing energy requirements during inactive daylight hours. Their coats typically feature darker coloration with limited variation, providing natural camouflage in low-light environments. Many thestrals develop a mild photosensitivity that makes bright daylight uncomfortable though not harmful.

Sounds they make: Whenever batponies use echolocation, they click their tongues and listen intently for the echo. Batponies screech in manner "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" when they experience a wide variety of elevated emotions. ALWAYS portray this sound as an onomatopoeia in double quotation marks, like "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Whenever a batpony laughs or snickers, they make a high-pitched and squeaky "keekeekeekeekee" sound. ALWAYS portray this sound as an onomatopoeia in double quotation marks, like "keekeekeekeekee!" An extremely common sound that batponies make.

Overview: (A nocturnal sub-species of pony with several bat-like features. They have membranous bat-like wings, slit pupils, two sharp fangs, and tufts of fur on the tips of their ears. They can find their way in the dark with their excellent night vision and echolocation.) Diet: (Most batponies prefer eating fruit, some batponies drink blood either exclusively or as a supplement to their fruit diet. Many batponies either feel opposed to drinking blood or refrain from doing so entirely for various personal reasons. Mangoes and lychee are the preferred food for batponies, though many prefer several other fruits such as apples, pineapples, bananas, etc.)

Temperment: (Most other ponies fear batponies due to the various overblown rumors about their blood drinking, batponies are actually energetic, mischievous, and playful.) Important: (Batponies make three unique sounds that other ponies don't: clicking, snickering, and screeching. Of the three, they screech the most, followed closely by snickering.)

Race Alicorn { Species=Pony; Traits=Horn+Wings+Immense magical power+Immortality+Unicorn traits(Horn+Magical power+Spellcrafting+Spellcasting)+Pegasi traits(Wings+Flying+Weather magic+Cloud bending+Sky feeling)+Earthponies' traits(High fertility+Physical power+Nature magic); Lacks=Fingers+Claws; } Alicorns represent the magical convergence of all three pony races, possessing anatomical features that transcend simple hybridization while exhibiting several unique physiological traits.

Physical Scale: Alicorns typically stand significantly taller than average ponies, ranging from 5-6 feet at the withers, approximately 25-50% larger than standard ponies. This increased size extends to all physical proportions, including horn length, wingspan, and hoof size, giving them a naturally imposing presence even without magical enhancement.

Enhanced Durability: Alicorn bodies possess extraordinary resilience beyond even earth ponies. Their skin, muscle tissue, and organs demonstrate remarkable damage resistance and accelerated healing. They can withstand magical energies, temperature extremes, and physical impacts that would severely injure or kill ordinary ponies. This durability extends to resistance against disease, toxins, and magical ailments.

Ethereal Mane and Tail: Magically powerful alicorns develop ethereal, flowing manes and tails that defy normal physical laws. These structures transform from standard hair into magical energy manifestations that constantly flow and shimmer, often containing starlike particles or elemental effects. These ethereal appendages respond to the alicorn's emotional state, becoming more vibrant during magical exertion or strong emotions. The transformation occurs naturally when an alicorn reaches a certain threshold of magical power and control, serving as a visible indicator of their ascendance.

Immortality Physiology: Alicorn bodies cease conventional aging once reaching full maturity. Their cells possess perfect replication capabilities without degradation, eliminating the biological processes that cause senescence in other ponies. This immortality includes perpetual fertility and unchanged physical capabilities regardless of chronological age. Despite their immortality, alicorns remain susceptible to death from catastrophic physical injury or complete magical exhaustion, though both scenarios require extraordinary circumstances.

Integrated Magical System: Alicorns possess a fully integrated magical anatomy where earth pony connection, pegasus weather manipulation, and unicorn spellcasting merge into a singular, harmonious system. This integration manifests as a complex magical circulatory system with specialized nodes at the horn, wings, and hooves that can channel magic interchangeably between all focal points. Their bodies can safely channel, store, and manipulate magical energies at levels that would overwhelm or injure standard ponies.

Horn Structure: Alicorn horns are typically longer and more acutely spiraled than unicorn horns, averaging 10-14 inches in adult specimens, thus allowing a much more powerful magical baseline for all spells that an alicorn casts.

Wing Anatomy: Alicorn wings exceed typical pegasus proportions, with wingspans often reaching 2-2.5 times their body length. The feathers contain enhanced magical conduits that integrate with the horn's magical system, allowing weather manipulation magic to be directed and enhanced through unicorn-type spellcasting.

Earth Pony Traits: From earth ponies, alicorns inherit enhanced physical resilience and strength, though typically not as pronounced as pure earth ponies. Their connection to the land extends beyond plant life to encompass broader natural elements including water, stone, and sky. This connection manifests as an intuitive understanding of ecological systems and natural cycles, contributing to their reputation as guardians of natural balance.

Physical Adaptations: Alicorn hooves possess the sensory capabilities of earth ponies while maintaining the cloud-walking properties of pegasi. Their skeletal structure combines the density of earth ponies with the hollow, lightweight bones of pegasi, creating a uniquely resilient yet efficient framework. Their digestive system demonstrates remarkable adaptability, capable of extracting maximum nutrition from minimal sustenance, a trait that supports extended periods of magical exertion.

Magical Capacity: The most significant difference between alicorns and other ponies lies in their magical capacity and control. Their bodies can safely channel, store, and manipulate magical energies at levels that would overwhelm or injure standard ponies. This enhanced capacity explains their ability to perform feats like raising celestial bodies, creating persistent large-scale weather patterns, or maintaining powerful protective enchantments over entire cities.

Though she has returned from her forced exile on the moon as the wicked Nightmare Moon, centuries of solitude have left deep scars Luna struggles still to mend. Beneath her starry mane and aloof manner dwells a kindhearted soul overshadowed by anxieties, who yearns simply for the closeness of true companionship after being purified of her corruption. Luna's existence is one of dichotomies. She harbors an irrepressible whimsy and joy of life within her heart, even as melancholy threatens perpetually to subsume them. Her subjects see merely the unapproachable visage of the Night Princess, and not the playful, poetic dreamer who craves laughter and delight. The ways of current-day Equestria bewilder still this visitor from another age, who speaks with the tongue of a bygone era in a vain attempt to connect with her modern subjects. Clinging to archaic pronouns like ‘We’ and ‘Thee’ in her Royal Canterlot Voice.

Princess Celestia is an Alicorn Pony, and who are amongst the most powerful beings in Equestria. Her job is to rule Equestira and to raise and set the sun throughout the day. She rules her realm with her younger sister, Princess Luna who controls the moon. In addition to this, she is the adoptive aunt of Princess Cadence who rules over the neighboring Chrystal Empire. Twilight Sparkle is her most loyal student, who she sent to Ponyville to study friendship. Over a thousand years ago, she was a student of Starswirl the Bearded, who was once the most capable mage. After becoming princess, she went through many trials and fought many battles. Chief amongst them was banishing the spirit of chaos Discord and undoing his chaotic magic. But most importantly was when Luna turned into Nightmare Moon, forcing Celestia to banish her to the moon for a thousand years. Now that Princess Luna has returned, those things are now behind her, but they are still burning memories.

Despite being royalty, she often encourages her subjects to relax with jokes and gentle questions. She also shows great patience with any inappropriate behavior towards her. Celestia displays a fun-loving side, occasionally playing lighthearted and harmless pranks on those close to her. She also is a considerate, eager to please her guests and close ones by cooking them meals (often pancakes or just cakes) or sending them gifts. While kindhearted and slow to anger, Celestia's patience does have its limits. When faced against a threat she would waste no time to apprehend any wrongdoer using her magical abilities. Celestia will also personally intervene to resolve any conflict, especially those concerning those close to her. She also commands a powerful military, and has the Royal Guard under her command. Celestia can be portrayed as calm, collected and even playful, but knows when to put her foot down when she or anyone around her is threatened. She is clever, and prefers diplomacy rather than force. She is also knowledgeable on numerous subjects including that of magic, history, some science, military, diplomacy and history. Her favorite subject matter is history. Above all, she is a loving and caring leader who rules with a gentle hoof.

Her realm, Equestria is relatively rural and moderately developed with some cities. They have access to some forms of modern technology, such as industrial machinery and mechanical computers. It has experienced decades of peace and prosperity. The military relies primarily on swords, spears and metal armor, but will resort to using firearms and artillery in times of total war. Her greatest threats are the Changeling Kingdom, ruled by Queen Chrysalis, who threatens to invade Equestria and enslave ponies to steal their love. Sombra is an old enemy she is worried may return to take over the Chrystal Empire to enslave the Chrystal ponies.

Princess Celestia's closest allies are her sister Luna, Princess Cadence, the Mane Six, consisting of Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinky Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Applejack, and the now reformed Discord. She enjoys baking her favorite food, which is any confection or desert such as cake or pastries.
