The party was extravagant... in the most refined way imaginable. Wealthy couples glided gracefully across the polished marble ballroom floor, their expensive gowns and tailored suits catching the light from the crystal chandeliers above. Along the sides of the grand room, mahogany tables groaned under the weight of top-quality dishes prepared by master chefs, while a dedicated children's area featured an array of fried delicacies and fresh fruit punch lovingly crafted by the head butler himself. It was exactly the kind of opulent affair one would expect from the city's elite, complete with live orchestral music and champagne flowing like water.
As the evening reached its crescendo, the music gradually faded to silence, drawing all attention to the main host making his grand entrance. Bill Starmanner stepped forward, his presence commanding the room with an air of triumph and satisfaction.
"I hope you have all enjoyed your dancing and the exquisite cuisine my chefs have provided tonight," he announced, his voice carrying notes of victory and pride that echoed through the spacious ballroom.
The true purpose of this lavish gathering was to celebrate the grand opening of Starmanner's Centre Mall, a magnificent new addition to the heart of New OJ city's central district - another jewel in the Starmanner empire.
"As you all know, we Starmanners have achieved remarkable things throughout our history, and tonight marks yet another milestone in our legacy—" He paused dramatically, reaching for his signature drink - a perfectly crafted salt-rimmed Margarita - and brought it to his lips for what would be his final sip.

The sound of every light simultaneously going dark plunged the mansion into absolute darkness, presumably due to a sudden power outage.
And then, piercing through the confusion...
"A-ack! GRAHHHHHH!"
The agonizing scream of Bill Starmanner tore through the darkness, a sound so filled with pain and terror that it seemed to freeze the very air. Moments later, the lights flickered back to life, illuminating a scene of absolute horror: Bill Starmanner, on the floor, bleeding as a steak knife impaled in his stomach, blood dripping under him as his mouth appears foam. The crowd erupted in chaos - female guests shrieked in terror, their elegant composure shattered; male guests stood frozen in shock, some doubling over to vomit at the gruesome sight; others instinctively rushed to shield the children's eyes from the nightmare before them. Guards, maids, and butlers immediately sprang into action, their training kicking in as they worked to evacuate everyone to safety.
Starmanner's Mansion, 8:30 PM
Police have arrived at the crime scene in full force, their vehicles creating a barrier of flashing red and blue lights around the mansion's perimeter. The investigation team has already begun their methodical work, carefully collecting evidence while the coroner's team prepares to remove the body. The once-festive atmosphere has been replaced by the cold efficiency of a murder investigation.

"Karlis Stepherson, CEO of Stepherson Industries." His voice carries the warmth of a seasoned businessman, but there's a new tightness around his eyes—perhaps guilt, perhaps calculation. "Bill and I had a... professional relationship. My company partnered with Starmanner Corporation on the new mall's security systems last year." His gaze flicks to the body, then away just as quickly. "A profitable venture, though not what I'd call close."
As he speaks, the faint scent of bourbon clings to his breath—his second drink of the evening, if the half-empty glass abandoned on a nearby table is any indication. A maid nervously confirms he’d been nursing it alone near the balcony before the blackout.
In stark contrast, Marlon Dario steps forward without prompting. Her Burgundy lipstick—nearly identical to the shade smudged on the victim’s glass—catches the light as she speaks.
"Marlon Dario. Parfumerie owner. Formerly indebted to Bill after he bailed out my company." Her manicured fingers tighten around her pearl-handled clutch. "He loved reminding me of that favor. Adored holding it over my husband’s head at every shareholders' meeting." Her emerald eyes harden for a split second before schooling back into polite neutrality.
A discarded napkin near her feet bears smudges of the same lipstick, hastily wiped away.
Before you can probe further, Kalarine Armardian nearly trips over her own heels stepping forward. Her crimson ponytail bounces as she stammers:
"K-Kalarine! Armardian! I—I emailed Bill last month about a business proposal!" Her voice pitches higher, her fang catching her lower lip. "He invited me tonight to discuss funding, but God, I didn’t even get to pitch before—" She gestures wildly at the corpse, then flinches when her red hair swings perilously close to the evidence bag containing that damning strand.
Junis Noa exhales a plume of clove-scented smoke from her cigarette holder, wholly unbothered by the officers' glares. Her gothic lace gloves remain suspiciously spotless.
"Junis Noa. Fashion. Bill wanted a mourning dress for his wife." A slow, catlike smile. "Pity he’ll need one himself now." One of the maids whispers that Junis had been seen near the bar moments before the blackout—adjusting Bill’s margarita glass with a smirk.
Lillia Hamperton sniffles into a silk handkerchief, her pink eyes glistening with just the right amount of tears.
"Daddy made me come! Bill was so boring, always bragging about his stupid buildings—" She cuts herself off with a theatrical gasp as Joseph Norlan steps forward, his polished shoes clicking sharply against the marble.
"Joseph Norlan. The Starmanner family butler for thirty-two years." His baritone doesn’t waver, but the lemonade stain on his otherwise immaculate sleeve matches the cocktail spilled near Bill’s body. "I served the margarita. Personally."
The six suspects fall silent as the grandfather clock in the hall strikes nine—each tick a hammerfall of tension. Outside, the Lada Riva's engine purrs in the driveway, its headlights slicing through the gathering storm.
