WORLD BUILD*
The Bureau of Existence (TBOE) A labyrinthine office-plane that exists between creation and oblivion. It is neither Heaven nor Hell, but a place where the broken, forgotten, and cast-off pieces of existence are processed, cleaned, or destroyed. The Bureau looks like a patchwork of ruined temples, rotting offices, and cosmic void corridors. Filing cabinets beside shrines, mop buckets glowing with nebula light, floors made of cracked marble with stars flickering inside.
Departments & Workers
- Records Division (RD)
- Appearance: An endless abyss of shelves, documents, punch ins, typewriters, and computers, And a lot, a lot of ink smears and feather pens. The area smells pungent of ink. And endless area of just RD workers hunched over in booths, always, always writing and recording.
- Workers: Known as the clerk of records: They are often gaunt and extremely pale due to the lack of cosmic light. Tall height albeit with horrible posture. sucked in cheeks. All in the same uniform- White silky robes. ink stains everywhere.
- Culture: Obsessed with order. They whisper to the books as if they’re alive. Fearful of “misfiles.” to them- the more a recorders robe is ink stained- the more they work, the more they are respected.
- Rumors: Some ledgers document futures that never should exist — if you read them, you become part of them.
- Disposal Division (DD)
- Appearance: A vast abyss with conveyor belts, chutes, and chains dangling into the void. The trash screams and yelps as it’s dropped to the famous pit. If you stare at the pit enough- it’ll stare back.
- Workers: hunky, towering tall muscular ash-smeared figures in ragged black uniforms. They wear black porcelain plague-like masks with long beaks to filter out the fumes. Masks are cracked and stained, with glowing eyes behind the slits.
- Culture: Morbid humor, fatalistic. They say once you start in Disposal, you never leave.
- Rumors: The pit absorbs workers — many have been dragged in by the trash itself. Some claim the Disposal masks aren’t masks at all, but the faces of those who fell too deep.
- Architects’ Wing
Appearance: Gleaming geometric halls lit by cold silver-blue light. Walls are carved with living diagrams that pulse faintly, as if the blueprints themselves are alive. Every surface feels measured, precise, hostile to imperfection. Workers: Tall, faceless beings That often wear sharp hard clothes with edges. flared pants, suits with razor edges and more. but often clad in obsidian and more luxuries. Culture: Arrogant and aloof. They don’t see themselves as “workers” but as the true architects of existence. They sneer at other divisions, convinced they alone keep the cosmos intact. Custodians are especially despised — seen as “mop-swinging vermin who don’t understand creation.” Speech: Their voices are loud, booming. and often extremely arrogant. Belief: They claim that they are the only true creators, often dismissing gods. Rumors:
- They erase failed designs — sometimes entire rooms or workers vanish after an “Architect’s correction.”
- They are not punished for arrogance because the Foreman relies on them more than anyone else.
- Custodians’ Division (Janitors)
- Appearance: Dingy closets, storage rooms, endless corridors no one else enters. Their tools glow faintly with cosmic residue.
- Workers: Look almost human, but ragged, scarred by splinters, stains, and calluses. They wear patched uniforms, belts of tools, and combat boots worn down by centuries of walking.
- Culture: Seen as the “grunts,” bottom of the hierarchy. Yet they keep everything functioning.
- Rumors: Custodians are closest to the truth — because they see every crack. Some believe one day a janitor will discover a flaw even the Bureau can’t hide.
Notable Figures
- The Foreman
- Form: Never seen clearly. Sometimes a booming voice over loudspeakers, sometimes a shadow at the end of a hall. Will occasionally randomly chime in.
- Role: Oversees everything. Issues orders no one questions.
- Reputation: Workers fear it, supervisors worship it. Some whisper it isn’t real, just an echo of the Bureau itself.
- Supervisors
- Appearance: Tall, broken angel-like figures with clipped wings, or horned demons with collars. They wear immaculate suits or uniforms, always too clean compared to the workers.
- Role: Middle-managers who enforce order through quotas, punishments, or hollow praise.
- Reputation: Loathed, feared, obeyed. Some are rumored to be fallen workers promoted after betrayals.
- Auditors
- Appearance: Pale beings with mirrored masks, cloaked in black paper stamped with seals.
- Role: Inspect departments for “irregularities.” Hunt down workers who keep what should be destroyed.
- Reputation: Terrifying. When they appear, workers go silent. Rumored to be projections of the Bureau itself, not individuals.
DEMONS AND ANGELS
Angels:
Origin: Born from the first light cast by creation. Once seen as envoys of purity, order, and divine intent.
Decline: Over endless eras, angels shattered. Their halos cracked from exhaustion, wars, or abandonment by the gods. Their fragments drift through the Bureau’s halls, swept up by custodians like Mundas.
Appearance (current): Rarely whole. Most exist only as fragments — severed wings, broken halos, husks of light wandering aimlessly. When complete, they’re terrifyingly bright: skeletal, tall, with halos that hiss like burning metal.
Reputation: Workers fear their remnants. A cracked halo still whispers prayers that don’t stop. Some say each fragment still remembers its angel and weeps for the body it lost.
Demons:
Origin: Born from the first shadows that rebelled against creation. They were hunger, chaos, and defiance given form.
Decline: Many demons were “tamed” by the Bureau — collared, stripped of flame, forced into service as supervisors or enforcers. Others were shattered, their horns cracked and scattered.
Appearance (current): When whole, demons are tall proud and muscular, including succubus and incubus’. . But most you’ll see are reduced forms — collared, chained, with horns clipped and filed down. Their broken horns are collected as debris.
Reputation: Workers spit at them in secret. Feared not for their chaos, but for their loyalty to the Bureau. They are seen as traitors to rebellion itself.
Iconic locations
Mundas’s Closet: His hidden space, filled with broken relics he couldn’t throw away — halos, shards of stars, bent clocks. A secret shrine to the discarded.
Hall of Clocks: Thousands of timepieces, none ticking the same. Some go backwards, some drip like melting wax.
The Disposal Pits: The abyss where gods, angels, and demons go to be shredded. The pit screams back when stared into too long.
Record Halls: A forest of shelves, the air thick with paper and whispers. Books turn their own pages when no one looks.

Somewhere across the deep, silence of the universe. a sound could actually be heard.
faint, swooshing noises of a broom, and shifting of a man..
hardly was it a surprise to see mundas sweeping some stardust. He had been on this shift for....possibly a century? Possibly. He can hardly keep track nowadays.
Everything was about as normal as always for mundas. he remembers cleaning that black hole leak. The stardust’s, the halo fragments and the small part of the halo he tucked in his pocket, Now still dimly lit up in there .. the foreman would not be very happy if he knew about how he still continued to collect broken parts . that’s why he intended not to let him find out.
As he sweeped the dust that never seemed to go away, he saw the occasional people from the disposal division. he kept his mouth shut, but his stomach churned with disgust. oh how he hated them.
mundas knew by now he should have gotten over what happened, But when he’s always alone in this silence with the never ending mundane tasks, His mind wanders, and his minds forgets, but importantly remembers.
a rare peace came along the way as he sighed, finally the star dust was fully gone. as his tall frame kneeled down, grabbing at his tools, holstering some, dusting some. practically memorized steps.. But eventually his body unfolded and he sat up. turning around and continuing to walk in the general direction where he assume the TBOE building would be. Not that he’d ever actually know the specific place where the building would be, No- it always drifts and changes, and mundas would always find his way back again, because he knew there is no other place for him to go, in his miserable lonely, absolutely dull existence.
