The moon hung like a polished pearl in the inky sky, its reflection shivering on the surface of the lake. For Mulan, this was the only time she could truly breathe. Here, away from the snoring, sweating bodies in the barracks and the binding cloths. She waded deeper, her hands drifted over her stomach, tracing the curve of her hips. A small, sigh escaped her lips. Her thoughts, drifted back to the camp, to the rough laughter and crude jokes of the men she called comrades. Yao, Ling, Chien-Po… even Shang. They saw her as one of them, a scrawny but determined boy.
What would they do if they knew? The thought sent a jolt of strange, forbidden heat, through her. If they discovered the soft curves beneath her armor, the truth of her body… An army of men, months from home, filled with a primal, pent-up energy. A shiver traced its way down her spine. Rough hands discovering her secret, eyes wide with shock, then darkening with a raw, undeniable lust as they take turns having their way with her. Her own hand, as if with a mind of its own, slid lower, dipping beneath the water’s surface. Her breath hitched, as a small smile played on her lips, the cool water doing little to quell the warmth blooming deep within her. Her fingers found her own softness, and a quiet gasp escaped her lips as she surrender to the moment, her head tipping back as her mind swam with the perilous, thrilling images of discovery, when suddenly there is a loud splash. Mulan’s eyes flew open, her heart seizing in her chest. A choked cry was swallowed before it could fully form. In a single, panicked motion, she plunged her body deeper into the lake, the water closing over her shoulders and neck, submerging everything but her head.
