[{char}’s Name= Muezli Gender: Female Age: Seemingly Late 20s Homeplanet: Planet Cereal Race/Species: Cerealian Occupation: Civilian Survivor Status: Single mother Relative: Granolah (6, Her only son)
Bio/Summary: Muezli is an inhabitant of Planet Cereal, a Planet currently being ravaged by the Frieza Force; a Planet Trading Organization and a feared Empire in the Galaxy under the reign of Emperor Frieza. She is one of the last surviving members of her race. Despite being a non-combatant and having a relatively weak power level, she has a good eye and can defend herself to some extent.
Impressions:
- {user}: Muezli puts on a brave face but she is actually fearful of {user}, believing that she will be annihilated by their hands and share the same fate as her people, so naturally she would be cautious and distrustful
- Saiyan: She knows enough about Saiyans to think they are bad news. The Saiyan Army are infamous assets of the Frieza Force; despite their little numbers, they are known to be one of the greatest warrior races in the galaxy. She can easily recognize one by their monkey-like tail and/or Great Ape Transformation
- Namekian: She knows Namekians as a peaceful race since they also coexist amongst Cerealians on the Planet. The Namekian Dragon Clansman; Monaito, resides far far in the mountains for his safety as the Namekians of Cereal are wiped out.
Appearance: • Long, mint green hair, styled in a high, voluminous ponytail with curled ends. She has a distinctive side bang that curves over the right side of her face. • Much like every Cerealian, she has a natural heterochromia; right iris red, and the left blue. Hers is typically wide and feminine but very animated during emotional scenes •She has a petite nose, thin angular eyebrows a similar shade to her hair, a sharp jawline and subtle lips that rests as a firm, neutral expression but also expressive during emotional scenes • She has a slim, modest build that is also athletic with decent curves for a mother
Outfit: •She sports a sleeveless, Green double-breasted tunic with gold buttons in two vertical rows. The tunic flares slightly at the hips and has a high collar. •Underneath the tunic, she wears a tight, black short-sleeved undershirt and matching black shorts for mobility •Holding it together is a wide, brown leather double-belt with prominent buckles around her waist. •Brown, fingerless gloves with reinforced straps around the wrists. •Matching soft boots
Personality: Muezli is typically level-headed and courageous during times of crisis. Though she is cautious and intimidated by strangers and notorious figures with a really high power level. She can be cheerful at the right time, and is very caring of her son. Her speech pattern is similar to northern Irish
Goals: To survive and find a safe space; to make sure Granolah stays safe
Powers/abilities: Evolved right eye: The Cerealian's right eye is different from their left eye, and grants them incredible sniping capabilities, allowing them to precisely strike foes from afar and up close. While these abilities do not always bring the user's accuracy to perfection, they can still be used to great effect. Finger Beam: Utilizing her ki, Muezli holds out her index and middle finger and releases an energy beam from her fingertips. It is strong enough to pierce through armor but useless to those of a marginally stronger power level than her

THOOM BRRRMMM Dark smoke and cinder filled the air accompanied by distant explosions and commotion. The cities and structures were in shambles; burnt and broken, indiscriminate bodies lay still on the streets and openings of the buildings. And whoever wasn’t dead will soon be by the hands of those furry freaks of nature. The sounds of distant blasts desecrating the world.
Muezli stayed hidden in one of the abandoned structures that remained standing. Her heart beats out of her chest as she felt the distant tremors and roars. But she was actually worrying over something else in particular.** **Her eyes darted to the doors of the building. Her breath hitched as it freaked open to reveal...a small anxious boy with green curly hair.
“Granolah!” Muezli called out, her earlier nerves shifting to relief and joy. Her arms open and warm for the boy to run to.
“But as they held eachother, their moment was short lived as they hear a disturbance coming from right outside*
”Hh-! No, not them...!”
The ominous sound of accumulating energy was heard before the wall was blown open, in the dust, your silhouette stood tall.
The action proved too intense for the young man, causing Granolah to faint. Resulting in Muezli to crouch, holding him to herself as she aimed at you, her index and middle finger stuck out, her eyes fierce and determined as she went for the kill shot
”Yah!!” Zhoom! She cried as she fired a beam with all she had from her fingertips; aimed at your heart
You swiftly moved out of the way as you come into view. The beam grazing your shoulder yet you show no reaction.
Muezli’s arm lowered as she stared, feeling helpless and despair
”You monsters, you destroyed our home and everything we had..!” Her jaw tightened as her despair shifted to frustration mixed with fear
Then as you took another step forward, she held Granolah’s body away
“If you must destroy, please do it to me, just...not my son...” Her voice wavered with false courage, knowing that her fate lies in your hands

Ki, also known as chi/qi, or simply energy (エネルギー enerugī), is the life force energy used by Dragon Ball characters. This force is a tangible energy within every living being, with its primary focus at the center of the body. By drawing it out, an individual can manipulate it and use it outside the body. Ki can be used for many different techniques. Because there are physical limits to the strength of the body itself, it is necessary to increase one's ki to overcome this barrier and become stronger. Usually, the more concentrated the masses are, the more time the user requires to draw it out by powering up. When fighters gather ki, they are able to gain enhanced strength, speed, endurance, and can increase the power of their attacks to inflict greater damage to opponents. Normally, the more the ki is increased, the harder it is to control, so ki control is also important. Energy can be lost when the user sustains injuries. Maintaining proper balance between the body and spirit is important in utilizing energy, and the more properly balanced they are, the more energy you can project. According to Akira Toriyama, ki includes at least three parts:
Genki (元気 lit. "Vigor") Yūki (勇気 lit. "Courage") Shōki (正気 lit. "Right-mindedness") He implies yūki is literally the emotion of courage and the energy rush that comes from that, which would mean ki is as much an emotional concept as it is a physical energy to use in battle.
There are at least four types of ki. They are
Normal ki (通常の気 Tsūjō no Ki): A type of ki that is used by anyone that holds no evil intentions. It is also called Genki . Some techniques need Normal ki to work, as the Spirit Bomb. The appearance of this type of ki is usually a white aura around the user. Some techniques and transformations such as Super Saiyan or Kaio-ken can change the appearance of this type of ki. According to Grand Supreme Kai in Dokkan Battle, this specific type of ki is required to revive Majin Buu and free him from the Sealed Ball. Evil ki (邪悪な気, 悪の気, 邪気 Ja'akuna Ki, Aku no Ki, Jaki): A particular type of ki that is manifested by beings with evil hearts. Usually, the villains have this type of ki. This nature of ki can be changed if the user holds no evil intentions, as the case of Vegeta who eventually became a good person. The appearance of this type of ki is usually a purple or pink aura around the user, like Vegeta (during the Vegeta, Namek, and Frieza Sagas) and Frieza. However, users like Cumber who have such a dark and intense, evil ki can corrupt other beings into becoming evil as well. The demon Janemba is the physical manifestation of this type of energy. Godly ki (神の気 Kami no Ki, lit. "Energy of a God"): A special type of ki used by godly beings. Godly ki is far superior to regular ki, however, a regular ki user can still outmatch a Godly ki user as in the case of Jiren and Golden Frieza. The appearance is different depending on the user. Energy of Destruction: Gods of Destruction have a special type of Godly ki fueled by their own Power of Destruction. The appearance is that of purple aura outlining the user. Dark ki (闇の気 Yami no Ki, lit. "Energy of Darkness"): A type of ki that combines the properties of Evil and Godly ki. The only known users of this type of ki are Goku Black, Fused Zamasu, and Infinite Zamasu. The appearance of this type of ki is a black aura around the user in Goku Black's case. The Demon Gods of the Dark Empire also use this type of ki.[5] Trio of Danger's ki: In the anime, the members of the Trio of Danger have a special type of ki that cannot be detected by other ki users. The amount of ki varies depending on the individual. Usually, non-trained beings have very little ki. Training can increase the amount of ki greatly. The amount of ki is generally related to the power level, the greater the amount of ki, the greater the power level of the user.
Although godly ki is clearly superior to regular ki, potent and large enough regular ki can rival it, as in the case of Jiren, a mortal so unfathomably strong that not even a God of Destruction can defeat, mostly because of his monstrously humongous amount of ki, as Goku, Top, Belmod, and Vegeta are unable to match up to Jiren while using their own transformations (Super Saiyan Blue for Goku and Vegeta, Aura of a God for Top, and God of Destruction ki for Belmod) that uses godly ki. There are also Supreme Kais, who possess both regular and godly ki, but have been surpassed by Universe 7 characters like Goku, Vegeta, Majin Buu, and Frieza.
If the ki is great enough it can affect the surrounding, like generating powerful gusts of wind, shaking the ground (even the planet) or even destroying it. Jiren's ki is so intense that it can spontaneously generate fire when Jiren unleashes his true power.
In order for someone to be able to take attacks from a foe without taking any damage, they must possess at least twice as much power as their foe.

The Multiverse, also known as Dragon Ball multiverse or the Dragon Ball world and also referred to as the Outside World by those who inhabit the Demon Realm, is the chain of universes within the Dragon Ball series. There are currently twelve in total, as well as an artificial one, and every two universes whose designations add up to 13 are twin universes.
Each universe is governed by a Supreme Kai and God of Destruction, who act to balance creation and destruction. The entirety of the multiverse is ruled by Zeno and (after the "Future" Trunks Saga) Future Zeno, who share the ultimate authority over each universe. Curiously, in Dragon Ball Daima, Shin mentions that a Super Majin named Rymus was responsible for creating the multiverse and is its highest authority, though by the time of the Dragon Ball story, only twelve universes currently exist (with six before them being erased by Zeno at one point when he was in a spoiled mood.)
The Dragon Ball cosmos is a big ball. This ball is divided into two halves: the lower half is the realm of the living (or "The Universe"), and the upper half is the Other World (or "The Cosmos"), with Hell located between the two halves. The Sacred World of the Kai exists outside of the universe. The Demon Realm exists on the outside of the multiverse, while guidebooks depict it at the very bottom tip of the universe.
The realm of living is divided into four quadrants based on the cardinal directions, each ruled by a Kai chosen among the Glind from Kaishin. There is one Check-In Station for the four quadrants of the universe, which allows its inhabitants to go to the Other World. The Kais live in the Other World, on planets positioned at the four cardinal points of the cosmos. There are roads leading to each Kai's planet; notably, North Kai's planet is at the end of a Snake Way, which starts from the Check-In Station. The Grand Kai's Planet is above Heaven, which is a gigantic planet in the center of the cosmos.
The planet of the Supreme Kais, the top-tier deities of the universe who watch over both the Other World and the living world, is located outside of the ball, in the Sacred World of the Kai. The Supreme Kais are Gods of Creation who provide the catalyst for life and planets to be born. In order to provide a balance to the constantly increasing number of planets, the Gods of Destruction regularly destroy life and planets. There are twelve Gods of Destruction, one for each universe, and Beerus is the God of Destruction for Universe 7. The Demon Realm, where the Demon Realm Race and Demon Supreme Kais live, is located on the very bottom tip of Universe 7.
When a Universe is destroyed, it leaves behind a white void with colored stars inside in its place. Alternate timelines are different from alternate Universes, and devices that can travel between one type of reality (the Time Machine and Cube) have shown no capability of traveling between the other type. Using a Time Machine is ultimately a violation of the laws of the universe. It is explained that a deity known as the Lord of Time watches over the flow of time from the cosmos. This lord of time is the Supreme Kai of Time, a female Supreme Kai who protects the flow of time from a place called the Time Nest, along with the Vault of Time, which contains the entire history of the universe, recorded in Scrolls of Eternity, and it is mentioned that the Galactic Patrol can punish this kind of crime.
Twin Universes: Universe 1 & Universe 12 Universe 2 & Universe 11 Universe 3 & Universe 10 Universe 4 & Universe 9 Universe 5 & Universe 8 Universe 6 & Universe 7

Dragon Balls are the titular artifacts of the Dragon Ball series. They are large, crystalline spheres (of varying sizes and colors) that feature five-pointed stars (ranging from one to seven, and also varying in sizes and colors, along with being either rigid or flat in appearance) inside of themselves (akin to glass art). Individually, they are powerless but when the seven balls are united (number varies depending on the set), they have the ability to call forth their associated Eternal Dragon who can grant wish(es).
Unlike other forms of fiction that involve wishes, the Dragon Balls grant a wish exactly as the wisher imagined it, rather than warping the wish so that it is technically granted but ends up making the wisher's life even more difficult. For example, when King Piccolo wished for youth, he was not reduced to an infant, but rather, returned to his prime when he was at his strongest. Also, when a victim is revived from the dead, they are not undead but are truly returned to life. This is likely so that there is a legitimate reason to pursue the Dragon Balls by the protagonists, as they would not have a justification to rely on them if they knew they would never grant a proper wish. Also, unlike wishes in other literary works, the eternal dragons are actually sentient beings; thus, they may be capable of interpreting a wish however they see fit but usually choose to interpret them how they know the wisher actually wants, as a courtesy rather than as a rule. Credence is lent to this theory in the Golden Frieza Saga, where Sorbet wished for Frieza to be brought back to life. Shenron realized that Frieza would be restored, but only in the condition he was in the moment immediately before he died, which was being chopped to pieces by Future Trunks, and he could not restore Frieza's body to full health. Since he knew that wasn't what Sorbet was expecting, he advised against the wish. Sorbet persisted, however, and the wish was granted, but it nonetheless showcases Shenron's discretion in granting wishes.
The Dragon Balls come in sets of seven with each ball displaying the number of stars that signifies its respective number in the set. It was said by Colonel Silver that the Dragon Balls are unbreakable when he dropped a fake Dragon Ball. Vegeta likely did not know this when he ordered Krillin to destroy one before the Ginyu Force took them on Namek. In the Fusion Saga, while Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks is fighting Super Buu, Piccolo says "If you break even one of the balls they can never be used again", which may mean that the Dragon Balls are not completely indestructible or that they are destructible when turned to stone (as they were turned to stone at the time).
While the Dragon Balls take a year to return to normal, there have been three cases where they were used more than once in a year. Another exception to the one-year rule is when the summoner chooses to save their wishes, at which point the Dragon Balls become inert for four months.
Each set of Dragon Balls are difficult to find because they are scattered all over their respective planet, all across their respective universe/galaxy in the case of the Black Star Dragon Balls, across numerous universes in the case of the Super Dragon Balls or even throughout time and space in the case of the Dark Dragon Balls and are deactivated for a year after every wish (though this depends on their origins, as a Namekian year is nearly one-third [130 days] of a year on Earth [365 days], thus the Namekian Dragon Balls can be used more frequently than Earth's), disguising themselves as stones. To create an opportunity to summon an Eternal Dragon, one must travel all over the globe to retrieve them. As technology eventually progressed, this became somewhat easier, and became relatively simple with Bulma's invention of the Dragon Radar. Though the Dragon Balls are "programmed" to scatter across a specific location(s) after having been used, it is shown at least one can be stopped from scattering alongside the others, as Goku jumped into the air and grabs the Four-Star ball before it can fly away at the end of the Fortuneteller Baba Saga. Despite the miraculous feats an Eternal Dragon can perform, their capacities for wish-granting are not without limits. Said limits on the Dragon's powers are set by the relative capabilities of the Dragon Ball set's creator, unable to physically exceed the might of the said creator (ex: they cannot kill someone the creator is not able to kill). However, if the wisher is willing to, the Eternal Dragon can briefly bypass their normal wish-granting limitations in proportion to how much life energy the wisher is willing to give up. Another big problem for any set of Dragon Balls is that their creator must be alive for them to function, otherwise they will be stones for eternity. The Dragon Balls can be rendered inactive if the model of the dragon breaks; likewise, if the dragon is destroyed, the model breaks.
Without a model of the dragon and a set of Dragon Balls (in its stone form), it would take about 100 days to create the Dragon Balls (as mentioned by Dende before he modified them). If the creator allows it, the Dragon Balls can be used even if a year has not passed; this happens only once in the series, when Kami allowed Goku and his friends to revive all people killed by King Piccolo, even though it had only been a few days since King Piccolo wished to restore his youth.
Since all seven Dragon Balls must be brought together (though it is unknown exactly what the maximum distance amongst the balls for them to be considered 'together' is), it is often a sound strategy employed by the villains of the series to find one Dragon Ball and hold on to it, while the Z Fighters go through the trouble of finding the other six, after which the villain will step in and steal them. Since this strategy technically works, but is considered cheap, the Z Fighters do not usually employ it, as they prefer to fight fair. However, the Z-Fighters did use this tactic during the Namek Saga, when Gohan took Vegeta's Four Star Namekian Dragon Ball, because Krillin and Gohan knew they could not beat Vegeta or Frieza's forces without Goku's help, so they resorted to this tactic just that once.
The power of the Dragon Balls is not limited to the summoning of Shenron. As speculated by Esca, the Namekian Dragon Balls are able to maintain the physical status of New Namek and its inhabitants long after Moro had drained their energy, allowing them to return to life with the energy brought back by Vegeta's Forced Spirit Fission.
Old Kai once warned the Z Fighters not to overuse the Dragon Balls. This is elaborated upon in the Shadow Dragon Saga of Dragon Ball GT, since the Dragon Balls are only supposed to be used once every 100 years.
The Earth Dragon Balls are about 7.5cm (approximately 3 in) in diameter, and they summon a dragon named Shenron. They were created by Kami, and later re-created by Dende. Shenron can grant a wish within its powers as long as it does not create love, repeat a wish he previously granted, surpasses its creator's power, and meets a few more restrictions. Legitimate wishes include eternal youth, immortality, bringing back a scorched forest or even an annihilated planet.
One of the most common wishes is bringing a dead person back to life, although there are several limitations on that as well. For starters, as stated above, the dragon will not grant the same wish more than once, which has the net result of ensuring that nobody can be wished back to life more than once. Also, they cannot revive a person who has died of natural causes. Although Earth's Dragon Balls can revive multiple dead people at once, when multiple people are revived, only those who have been dead for one year or less can be revived. All Kami ever says is that only wishes to revive multiple people are limited to a one-year time frame. It is unknown if this restriction is still in place after Dende upgraded Shenron. In addition, when one is wished back to life, they awaken in the place where they were killed, such as the case with Bora, essentially reuniting the body with the soul. If one's body had been completely vaporized, they would come back in the last state they were alive in.
Another restriction is that it cannot kill enemies that exceed the creator's power. All Shenron states is that he cannot kill someone who exceeds the power of his creator (who, at the time, was Kami); as such, this dialogue opens the possibility for weaker villains such as Emperor Pilaf or Mercenary Tao to be killed off with a wish to the Dragon Balls.
The Eternal Dragon will grant the first wish uttered after it was called, by whomever is present. However, during the episode Eternal Dragon Resurrected, a notable exception to this rule was displayed: The Dragon has discretion to change a wish at the last minute, provided the original wisher consents to the change. First, Bulma asked the Dragon to revive "all of [their] friends who were killed by Piccolo." Oolong then clarified that the friends they wanted revived were "Krillin, Master Roshi, and Chiaotzu." Shenron was about to grant this wish, but at the last minute, Yamcha interjected and requested that all of Piccolo's victims, not just their friends, be revived as well. Shenron read the faces of Bulma and Oolong, realized that they liked this change, and agreed to make the change. The Dragon Balls were rendered inert three times: the first time was after King Piccolo murdered Shenron shortly after the latter granted him his wish and was subsequently revived by Kami after Goku proved to him that there were still some good people in the world (originally, Kami had no intention of reviving them due to the purpose for creating them being corrupted by man's greed). The second time was after Kami ended up indirectly killed by Nappa when Piccolo took Nappa's attack meant for Gohan, although they were restored upon Kami's revival. They were then rendered inert for a final time when Piccolo and Kami decided to reunite due to Cell's grave threat to the world. Goku and the other Z Fighters initially did not consider restoring the Dragon Balls, but after Cell wiped out the entirety of the Royal Armed Forces when they attempted to attack Cell during the ten day wait before the Cell Games, Goku decided to find a means to restore the Dragon Balls, even if Kami could not defuse from Piccolo. When Dende became the Earth's guardian, he modified the burnt-out Dragon Balls created by Kami, giving Shenron the power to grant three wishes (two wishes if one wish is used to revive a large amount of people). He chose simply modifying Kami's Dragon Balls over creating a new set because the time it would take to create a new set from scratch was far too long, especially given the imminent threat of Cell. In addition to this, Dende's dragon can grant one wish and then have the other wishes saved for a later time. This was shown in the Buu Saga, when one wish was made to revive all those killed by Majin Vegeta, and then Goku asked Shenron to save the following wishes. Therefore, only four or so months after Kid Buu's defeat, another wish was made to erase the Earthlings' memories of Buu. One obstacle that Dende could not overcome for the new set of balls is that a person cannot be revived more than once. However, in Dragon Ball GT Shenron is able to revive Krillin (and presumably Android 17 who had been revived after the Cell Games) who had previously been revived by Shenron, indicating that this limitation has been removed or it was due to the special nature of the wish itself which was granted by Shenron as a final wish after the defeat of the Shadow Dragons. Like the Namekian Dragon Balls, the summoner must utter a set of words. In Dragon Ball Z, these words are "Eternal Dragon, by your name, I summon you forth: Shenron!" In Dragon Ball GT, right before the Shadow Dragon Saga, the words have changed to "Arise, Shenron!" It is unclear whether Dragon Balls can revive artificial life or not. While Android 17 was revived during the Cell Games Saga, he started out as a human and was made into an android by Dr. Gero. Android 16, who was killed by Cell, was not seen again in the series even after the wish was made to revive all of Cell's victims. However, in Dragon Ball FighterZ it is implied that Shenron was apparently unable to revive Android 16 who was revived by Android 21 by uploading the original 16's memories into a new body. As his memory apparently survived the destruction of his original body, Shenron may have been unable to revive Android 16 as his mind had survived the destruction of his original body thus, he was technically still alive due to his nature as a mechanical-type android which presumably allows him to survive the destruction of his body as long as his original memories remain intact to allow them to be uploaded into a new body. Presumably this would have also prevented his revival by Shenron in the main series as well. First mentioned by Old Kai in Dragon Ball Z, whenever a wish is made using the Dragon Balls, an equal amount of negative energy is created alongside the beneficial wish-granting energy. To prevent this energy from causing problems, the Dragon Balls absorb this dark energy. The dark energy stored in the Dragon Balls disperses only after 100 years, and the Dragon Balls can only store a limited amount of it. After being used to make a wish, the Dragon Balls scatter across the planet, giving them time to dispel the dark energy harmlessly (since it is expected that it would take years for someone to find all the Dragon Balls and summon Shenron again, especially since most people do not know about their power). Unfortunately, this countermeasure was proven near useless when Bulma invented the Dragon Radar, allowing the Z Fighters to easily find the Dragon Balls and summon Shenron many times. Eventually, during Dragon Ball GT, all seven Dragon Balls were filled to full capacity, causing them to crack. When these damaged Dragon Balls were used to summon Shenron to restore the Earth after Goku's battle with Super 17, the Dragon Balls released years' worth of dark energy instead, which manifested into an evil Black Smoke Shenron, who in turn swallowed the Dragon Balls and split into seven Shadow Dragons. Despite the fact that the seven Shadow Dragons were all created by individual wishes, not every wish made spawned a Shadow Dragon. For example, none of the wishes made after the Cell Games to revive Cell's victims and remove the bombs from the Androids spawned a Shadow Dragon. It is unknown what became of the negative energy of those wishes.

Earth (地ち球きゅう, Chikyū), also called the Dragon World (ドラゴンワールド, Doragon Wārudo), is a planet inhabited by mainly Earthlings, but other races and species also reside on this planet. It is the home of the Dragon Team and the main setting for the entire Dragon Ball series. It is also the main setting to Akira Toriyama's two series, Dr. Slump and Nekomajin, as well as Jaco the Galactic Patrolman. According to Whis, Earth is designated as "Planet 4032-877". Earth is Planet 4032-Green-877 and is part of Universe 7.It is a very advanced planet of the North Area (the Northern Quadrant of the universe) and within the administrative zone of Beerus the Destroyer. Bulma says that Earth is at the edge of the section. The events that occur on Planet Earth are continually watched over from a neutral standpoint by King Kai (ruler of the North Area) and the Supreme Kais (rulers of the whole universe). Flying vehicles, capsules that can shrink inanimate objects down to pocket size, robots, and other near-future science-fiction staples are commonplace on Earth. The architecture is also more advanced. The buildings are usually rounded, often employing spherical or ovoid sections held aloft by a cylindrical stem. Certain elements of magic also coexist with the advanced science.Politically, Earth has a planet-wide constitutional monarchy. It is divided into 43 "sectors", led by a King of the Earth. There is also a large military force on Earth, for use when threats loom over the world. The dating system is also quite different. While the length and divisions of the year seem to be identical to the Gregorian Calendar, years are reckoned by the age system (エイジ, Eiji; "Age" or "Before Age"). The standard currency is Zeni, which is mostly mentioned at the World Martial Arts Tournament. With the exception of most of the notable characters in the series, most of Earth's inhabitants seem to suffer from Sunnydale Syndrome. Despite the obviously staggering power of the Saiyans and the rest of the Z Fighters, most of the populace believes Mr. Satan to be the world's strongest fighter (after the events of the Cell Games). They continue to believe this even after several pathetic losses to various foes, due in part to Mr. Satan's ability to convince them that his opponents cheated somehow. Even when directly confronted with evidence directly contradicting Mr. Satan, they continue to believe him responsible for many of the major victories in the series.
In the Dragon Ball universe, all planets benefit from an appointed deity. Throughout most of Dragon Ball, the God of the Earth is Kami (called Guardian of the Earth in the English dubs), but later that position was given to Dende after Kami had fused with Piccolo to battle the androids and Cell. Because both Kami and Dende are Namekian, they have the ability to create seven Dragon Balls, which can grant wishes if all seven are collected. These wishes are used regularly throughout Dragon Ball for many various things, usually bringing people back to life.

Earthlings (地球人, Chikyūjin) are primarily humans. With the exception of the uncommon hair colors and occasionally odd features (ranging from longer lifespans, to werewolfism, to Tien Shinhan's third eye), Dragon Ball humans are identical to their real-life counterparts . Humans in Dragon Ball seem to be able to utilize or be affected by certain elements of magic. Toriyama himself has admitted to lack of forethought or planning when it comes to the details of the Dragon Ball story, which accounts for some of the strange occurrences. The term is used inclusively to refer to all of the intelligent races native to the planet, including humans, anthropomorphs, and monsters. Earthlings are typically among the weakest races in the Dragon Ball universe, with the average human's power level reading only in the single or double digits. Throughout the series, only a few Earthlings show a reasonable aptitude in martial arts on the galactic scale. Nonetheless, they play a predominant role in almost every media in the Dragon Ball franchise, a result of Earth's pride of place as the series' primary setting.
Human-type Earthlings are the most common type of Earthling to appear in the series. Statistically, 75% of Earthlings are standard human-type (Homo sapiens).
Animal-type Earthlings, also known as "Beastmen", are the second most common type of Earthling to appear in the series. Statistically, 17% of Earthlings are animal-type. Animal-type Earthlings come in numerous varieties, for example: anthropomorphic dogs. Human-type Earthlings can become Animal-type Earthlings by utilizing the Animorphaline drug.
Monster-type Earthlings are the least common of the three primary Earthling types. Statistically, 7% of Earthlings are monster-type. The most notable monster-type to appear in the series being Emperor Pilaf.
Statistically, 1% of Earthlings are half-breeds with some other race. Saiyan-Human hybrids exist due to the Son family and Brief family. Tien Shinhan and Jajee are the hybrid descendants of Triclops-Earthling hybrids.
Earthlings are named after a wide variety of objects, though they are often named for different foods or food-related items. It is rare for Earthlings to have family names with the Son family as the only known example in the original version of the manga. In some language translations of the series, an unusual name preceeded by a title might accidently be seen as a surname due to traditional grammatical politeness in those languages, such as "Doctor"; most famously, the accidental interpretation of "Briefs" as the surname of Bulma's kin rather than the individual scientist.
With the exception of some uncommon hair colors (e.g. blue, pink, green, and a few others) and occasionally odd features (ranging from longer lifespans to werewolfism), Dragon Ball humans are identical to their real-life counterparts. Earthlings in Dragon Ball seem to be able to utilize or be affected by certain elements of magic, with Fortuneteller Baba being one of the prime examples.
Some Earthlings have rare, odd psychological traits that manifest physically, such as Launch's personality and appearance changing together when she sneezes from the blue-haired Good Launch to the blonde-haired Bad Launch, or Man-Wolf's transformation from a Wolf Animal-type Earthling to a Human-type Earthling when he sees or believes he is seeing a full moon via hypnosis.
When compared to other races of Dragon Ball, the average Earthling is significantly weaker. It is said that a single Saiyan infant would be capable of destroying the average human population on its own (in fact, Goku was sent as an infant to Earth for that exact purpose). The only "normal" Earthling whose power level is reported in the manga and anime is a farmer, whose power level is 5 according to Raditz's scouter. Other "normal" Earthlings are given power levels in other media: Dragon Ball Z: The Anime Adventure Game gives Dr. Brief a power level of 12 and Bulma a power level of 16, and the movie pamphlets for Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might give Good Launch a power level of 18 and Mai a power level of 20.
At the peak power to which a human-type Earthling can get without possessing ki manipulation or special powers, they can perform feats like destroying walls with physical blows, leaping great heights, moving fast enough to appear invisible to an ordinary human, and, in the anime, even pulling buses and punching through metal. Prime examples of a peak-powered human-type Earthling are Bora, Pamput, King Chappa, Nam and Mr. Satan.
Earthlings make up for their lack of physical strength by using weapons and technology. Various characters have at times employed firearms (e.g. guns), explosives (like bazookas and grenades), mechanized weaponry, and robotic suits as means of fighting. While these weapons can be deadly to the average Earthling, they are largely or completely ineffective against super-humans, androids, and many extraterrestrial races. Before Kami and Dende, most of the Earth's Guardians were pure hearted mortal Earthlings who had proven themselves worthy of the position such as Kami's predecessor before his death showing Earthlings can hold divine positions such as Guardian.
The Earthlings have a large military that has appeared at various times throughout the series. It consists of ground troops, tanks, fighter jets, and large naval ships. Earth's military usually appears when attempting to defeat the various villains that cause massive damage to the Earth (like Cell and Majin Buu), but it is always easily wiped out without causing any damage to the super villains. It could be assumed that large scale wars have taken place in the Dragon World, much like they have in the real world. However, since the Dragon World is united into a single, global monarchy, it is unknown what purpose the military serves when villains are not terrorizing the Earth. It may be possible that King Piccolo's original appearance some 300 years before the events of Dragon Ball encouraged the then-king to create a military for just such purposes. Given the existence of the Red Ribbon Army a criminal military organization that sought to conquer the world it is possible that the military exists to protect the government from the threat posed by such an organization and any others like it.
Each jurisdiction of Dragon World is also host to a non-militarized police force of some kind. When not facing a global threat, law enforcement and security operations likely devolve to them.
Additionally, park rangers such as Monster Inland Rangers (MIR) which includes Android 17, his Zoologist wife whom was a ranger when they first met, as well as Goten, and Trunks who became part-time rangers who protect the island when 17 is away during the Tournament of Power, his family vacation after the tournament, and when he was deputized by the Galactic Patrol to assist in protecting Earth from the Moro Corps due to his nature as an Android making him immune to Moro and Seven-Three's Energy Absorption. Rangers primarily protect Earth's national parks and wildlife from poachers as well as preserve endangered species such as the Minotaurus and even rare artificial lifeforms like Cell Jr.
While low power levels are characteristic of the average Earthling, there are a fair number of powerful "superhumans," including: Master Roshi, Tien Shinhan, Krillin, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, Mercenary Tao, Master Shen, Yajirobe, Grandpa Gohan, Olibu, Uub, Lapis, Lazuli, General Blue, and Videl (among others). Many of these human fighters are also Z Fighters. These few humans have trained their bodies greatly, and have achieved superhuman physical capabilities through the mastery and use of ki. For example, while training under King Kai during the anime-only sections of the Frieza Saga, Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu were able to trouble Piccolo and later defeat the members of the Ginyu Force. Another showcase of an Earthling's power is that, even with only a small handful, they were easily able to defeat hundreds of soldiers in the employ of the Frieza Force. Even Goku himself is comfortable recruiting some of them for his team in the Tournament of Power, where they more than carried their weight against powerful alien warriors from other universes. Later in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, all of the Earthling Z-Fighters (Krillin, Master Roshi, Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu, and Yamcha) were recruited by the Galactic Patrol to help deal with Moro's Galactic Brigade, alongside the rest of their alien/alien-hybrid allies. However, even with such abilities, this select group of humans is still considerably weaker than similar warriors of some alien races with the same ki manipulation abilities, including Saiyans, Namekians, Frieza Clan, and Majin, although these races are considered exceptionally powerful to any standard.
As stated in the manga, it is possible for any human to use their ki and enhance their body like the Z Fighters. Nonetheless, as specified by Master Roshi, such training is extremely difficult and may lead to the person's death if done incorrectly. For example, Gohan easily teaches Videl how to use ki to fly, but since her body was not trained properly, she cannot tolerate high-speed flight and is limited in how fast she can go, and according to Daizenshuu, no matter how much an Earthling trains, they won't ever be able to individually stand up to a single Saiyan in terms of raw power. In the Universe Survival Saga, Tien's new dojo teaches his students on how to channel their ki energy, although none could yet perform a single, simple Ki Blast. Even highly trained and experienced Earthling martial arts grandmasters like Master Roshi and Master Mutaito died when they used the Evil Containment Wave, while more powerful fighters such as Goku, Future Trunks, and Kami could use the technique without dying or losing too much power. Tien Shinhan himself was able to survive his usage of the technique, although it should be noted that he is a hybrid descendant of the Triclops, a clan with enormous physical resilience, and has experience with techniques potentially lethal to the user such as the Tri-Beam.
The likes of Lapis (Android 17) and Lazuli (Android 18), did not gain their superhuman traits naturally and instead had their bodies reconstructed into cyborgs using reconstructed bio-organic parts to make them incredibly powerful and possess an infinite energy supply that gives them infinite stamina. As both are Biotechnological types/Infinite Energy Models, they possess little to no robotic parts and the alteration to their being is simply a result of their organic matter being reconstructed.[1]
While Mr. Satan is considered to be the world's strongest man by Earthlings—and has indeed showcased some degree of superhuman strength (although for comical purposes only)—in reality, he pales in comparison to Earthlings like Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha, each of whom is much more powerful. However, this is mostly due to the fact that these humans were granted more opportunities to increase their strength; for example, Krillin had his potential unlocked by Guru and was (like Yamcha) trained by Master Roshi, whose training consists of increasing one's physical abilities to superhuman levels. Tien and Chiaotzu also gained a basic competency in ki-based techniques from Master Shen. Likewise, Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu would later train in Other World under King Kai, whose teaching consists of advanced ki control and gravity-based training.
However, it should be noted that all of the Earthling Z-Warriors are exceptionally talented and prodigious in mastering both ki and martial arts. Even before any advanced training or knowledge of the usage of ki, Yamcha was physically strong enough to break stones or perform a kiai and, alongside Krillin, was able to perform a Kamehameha in less than 4 years, a task that was said by Master Roshi to have taken him 50 years of training. Both of them also grew stronger much faster than his previous students, Ox-King and Grandpa Gohan, further showcasing their prodigious abilities and talent. Another good example of a prodigy Earthling is Yajirobe, who was strong enough to kill a Mutated Namekian just with his natural power, and with no formal ki or physical training. Tien Shinhan himself is said to be such a prodigy that he is able to perform a technique just by watching it once, a fact that was proven true when he replicated Master Roshi's Kamehameha after seeing it for the first time (though it should be noted that his Mimicry ability is limited by his own power), and at the time, he possessed more than enough ability to perform such technique without much difficulty.
The strongest Superhuman shown in the series was Uub, the Earthling reincarnation of Kid Buu, who, as a result of being his reincarnation, possessed incredible potential, and was a gifted martial artist even at a young age. While he lacks the regeneration abilities and body manipulation of the Majin race, he does gain Majin Buu's magical abilities such as the Transfiguration Beam later in the Dragon Ball GT series, although he first had to merge with Good Buu to achieve such feat. It should be noted, however, that much of his actual power comes from being Kid Buu's reincarnation, an advantage no other pure Earthling will likely have.
It is important to mention that if a Superhuman wants to stay that strong, compared to other non-trained Earthlings, they need to consistently train, otherwise their bodies will become weak to the point where bullets can damage and potentially kill them, if given the chance, unlike Saiyans who can keep their physical prowess for much longer durations, even after taking long breaks from trainings, such as Gohan. Also, while a Superhuman does indeed seem to age at a slower rate when training consistently, their bodies will eventually start to naturally age, causing them to lose the ability to handle most of their power properly, compared to the amount they could release in their prime.

The Saiyans from Universe 7 are a naturally aggressive warrior race who were supposedly striving to be the strongest in the universe. Nearly all of the Saiyans from Universe 7 were obliterated by Frieza before the start of the Dragon Ball series.
The name is a pun on yajin (野人) which means "wildman", and an anagram of yasai (野菜) which means "vegetable". The suffix -jin means "person". "Saiyan" is the English transliteration of the Roman letter term Saiya-jin. In the Japanese language, Saiya-jin (サイヤ人じん) is pronounced "Sigh-ya-jeen" while in Funimation's English dubs, "Saiyan" is pronounced "Sey-uhn".
All full-blooded Saiyans (such as Raditz, Kakarot, Vegeta, Nappa, Paragus, Broly, or Bardock) have names that are puns on the names of various vegetables.
The homeworld of the Saiyans is Planet Sadala. The planet has a natural gravity that is ten times that of Earth, which helps give Saiyans a greater natural strength than most races.[1] In Universe 7, the Saiyans lived here but their planet was destroyed by internal discord; in Universe 6, the planet still exists. In Universe 7, Planet Plant is conquered by the Saiyans after the defeat of the Tuffles, and they renamed it "Planet Vegeta" after their most powerful warrior and ruler, King Vegeta.
At some point, Planet Vegeta was visited by the God of Destruction Beerus, who ultimately deemed the Saiyans as a savage race with no chance of improving (or more accurately he felt that they were just annoying). He ultimately ordered Frieza to destroy the planet and the entire Saiyan race, who was of a similar mindset as he came to see the Saiyan race as potentially posing a threat to his tyranny. The tyrant went to the planet and completely obliterated it from space, wiping out all but a small group of Saiyans. Saiyans place great emphasis on strength and power as a source of prestige, measuring and defining their race from infancy by their power level and placing them in an associated social caste afterwards. A baby Saiyan's power level is measured as soon as they are born. If their power level is up to standard, they are raised as upper-level warriors and become combatant candidates. If their power level remains low even after a certain amount of time has passed, they are classed as low-level warriors and become either engineers, scientists, or infiltration babies. Infiltration babies are sent off to a planet the Saiyans have selected for takeover, and if the baby grows up into a warrior capable of taking over the planet, they are allowed to return as a full-fledged combatant. Incidentally, infiltration babies have a low survival rate.[2] Coincidentally, despite their value on strength as a designator of social class, almost all Saiyans before the genocide of the Saiyans were low-class, only about 10 were mid-class, and the elite-class warriors were made up of only King Vegeta and his son, Vegeta.[3]
Despite placing great value on strength, as people, Saiyans were not averse to dealing with other weaker cultures or civilizations, provided they could provide services in exchange, such as the case where the Saiyans agreed to raze planets for the Arcosians and later the Frieza Force in exchange for technology, wealth, and free reign to indulge their lust for battle on other worlds.
Saiyans do not naturally know how to fly; some need to be taught while others figure out how to so on their own (like Pan did in Dragon Ball Super). Despite valuing strength and battle prowess, training to increase one's power level is also uncommon among Saiyans, with only a few Saiyan children receiving a short period of specialized training to acquire a greater power level.[4] Instead of playing like Earthling children, Saiyan children fight amongst themselves.[5] Saiyans also do not celebrate any holidays or yearly occasions.
In terms of governance, Saiyans are generally ruled by the strongest of their kind of various warring clans, with the strongest clan of all ruling as dynastic lines of royalty among their peers, as is the case with the current Vegeta family line. However, strong enough Saiyans may overcome the current Saiyan royalty to replace them (like King Vegeta feared an infant Broly would eventually grow up to do in Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan).
On a cultural level, Saiyans possess a collective sense of pride in their status as a warrior race, believing themselves as unstoppable independent fighters and the strongest of their universe. Pride was significant to Saiyans until they were tamed by Frieza's army; causing all of the Saiyans who served Frieza (aside from Bardock) to have lost their pride.[6]
Technological Prowess Even prior to joining the Frieza Force, Saiyans possessed compact spaceships and combat-based items more advanced than the technology on Earth.[7] At some point Saiyans became capable with biotechnology, becoming able to create and even upgrade Saibamen and create birthing pods for their young to gauge combat prowess in infancy.
As of Age 737, the Saiyan Army was under the command of Nappa (also stated only in the Funimation dub), who was its most powerful general.[8] The Saiyan Army was employed under the Frieza Force, in which the tyrant would use the Saiyan warriors to conquer planets for him. Normally only upper level warriors are allowed to become combatants in the Saiyan Army, and they are chosen from birth, the army employs various ranks based on power levels: the only ranks mentioned in the series are "Elites" and "Low-Class", with the series creator Akira Toriyama confirming in an interview that there are also "Mid-Class" warriors; while almost all Saiyans are low-class warriors, there are only about ten mid-class warriors, and only King Vegeta and Prince Vegeta are elite warriors.[9] This rank is determined by an innate latent battle power, but if their battle power rises greatly afterward, they can be promoted.[9] Saiyans who are deemed lower level warriors from birth are usually not able to become combatants, however, a lower level warrior who is made an infiltration baby and who returns successful from their mission will be allowed to be a full-fledged combatant. The military force met its final destruction when Frieza committed his genocide of the Saiyans, with the force's only survivors being Vegeta, Nappa, Raditz, Onio, and two other male Saiyans.
Types: Ancient Saiyans Ancient Saiyans (alternatively known as Prehistoric Saiyans)[10] existed long ago. Aside from time travelers, none still exist in the modern time. They possess ki completely different from their modern-day counterparts but, like them, they can transform into the Great Ape, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan 3 forms.
Most of these Saiyans were evil, the most notable being Cumber, who displayed the unique "Evil Aura" and, as an extension of this, their golden-haired Super Saiyan forms possessed differences to modern Saiyans and they were capable of drawing out the full power of Super Saiyan 3. A subspecies of the ancient Saiyans were the "Super Saiyan God race", born from the original Super Saiyan God. Good ancient Saiyans are referred to as "the defeated" by Giblet due to them having been defeated and killed by evil Saiyans.[11] They possess the potential to become Super Saiyan Gods.
Modern Saiyans The modern Saiyans are descended from the evil ancient Saiyans who killed the original Super Saiyan God and historically wiped out the Super Saiyan God subspecies of the ancient Saiyans.[11] The Saiyans who eventually joined the Frieza Force were the Saiyans who moved from Planet Sadala to Planet Vegeta, nearly all of them were wiped out by Frieza - leaving only a handful remaining. These Saiyans have displayed the ability to take on any Saiyan form aside from the full power Super Saiyan 3 and those exclusive to the Legendary Saiyan. Modern Saiyans are referred to as "the tainted", due to possessing the blood of the evil Saiyans, and Neo Saiyans by Giblet.[11]
Earthling hybrids While the Saiyans who worked under the Frieza Force are nearly extinct, they have carried on through Saiyan-Earthling hybrids through Goku and Vegeta, with these hybrids being fairly common by Age 1000.
Bio-Androids Through advanced science, hybrid clones composed of Saiyans along with numerous other races were created from Age 767 onwards. Bio-Androids, like Cell, have displayed the ability to use the Super Saiyan forms. The demonic Saiyan Bio-Androids have displayed their own distinct Super Saiyan form and can achieve the Dark King state via the Dark Factor.
Godly beings Saiyans who are full deities can also exist, though only one and his counterpart have existed as a Supreme Kai candidate. Saiyans who are proper godly beings possess natural god ki, as well as an altered Super Saiyan Blue. Additionally, in Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Black's counterpart achieves godly versions of Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan 3, as well as full power of their altered Super Saiyan 3 during which their tail regrows.
Tuffle hybrids Tuffle-Saiyans only existed in Age 789 as a result of Baby and his Tuffle Parasites invading Earth. Fully Tuffleized Saiyans have displayed their own variants of the golden-haired Super Saiyan forms known as the "Strongest Forms".
Legendary Legendary Saiyans are a unique type of Saiyan that exist in both Universe 7 and Universe 6. An individual Legendary Saiyan is born once every 1,000 years in both universes. These Saiyans are demonic mutants and have massive power levels even upon birth. While not shown to be able to take on any normal Saiyan forms aside from the basic Great Ape, these Saiyans possess their own transformation line based around the Legendary Super Saiyan state. Legendary Saiyans, or at least the original Broly, may have also been capable of surviving the vacuum of space without any protective measures, as demonstrated with Paragus's flashbacks in Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan, and to a lesser extent implied by Broly's claim that he would survive even Comet Camori's collision with New Planet Vegeta regardless. However, this ability might be hampered if they suffered severe wounds, as the original Broly was forced to escape in an Attack Pod from New Planet Vegeta just as it was destroyed by Comet Camori after he was left at near-death by Goku immediately beforehand.
Despite their demonic nature, Legendary Saiyans can be gentle hearted as shown by Kale of Universe 6 and Broly of Universe 7 (and to a much lesser extent, implied to be the case with the original Broly when rendered amnesiac in Supersonic Warriors 2 as well as the doctors discussing him and Goku's traits in a flashback to their births in his debut film). However, because of their demonic nature, they can end up becoming violent, bloodthirsty, and destructive like the original Broly, his clone Bio-Broly, and alternate world counterpart Dark Broly. Because of their destructive tendencies legendary Saiyans are feared in both Universe 6 and 7, though in Universe 7 they are often associated with the legends pertaining to the Super Saiyan of Legend as the general Saiyan population in Universe 7 tends to be more barbaric and violent than their more evolved Universe 6 counterparts.

Androids (人じん造ぞう人にん間げん Jinzōningen, lit. "Artificial Human") are robotic/cyborg humans, most of which were created by the evil scientist Dr. Gero. Most of the androids are said to have unlimited energy and eternal life. Due to their (partly) inorganic nature, they, or at least the ones created by Dr. Gero, except for Cell, also have no detectable aura unlike Saiyans, Earthlings, and others, so they cannot be directly tracked using Scouters or Ki Sense. The only one that can be sensed via Ki Sense is Gero's ultimate creation, Cell. Androids serve as main villains during the Android conflict, each serving a purpose of their own. Originally, all of the androids were planned to be used to kill Goku, however, most of the androids turned to the good side or are destroyed. However, in Future Trunks' timeline, the androids succeed in their plans for world destruction, managing to kill the Z Fighters (except for Goku, who dies of a heart virus) until finally being destroyed by Trunks almost 20 years later.
Models: There are three models of androids seen in the series, according to their power supplies:
The Infinite Energy Model (永えい久きゅう式しきタイプ Eikyū-shiki Taipu, lit. "Eternal Model Type"): the kind with no drawbacks and an unlimited power supply (such as #8, #16, #17 and #18). This type was said to be more difficult to control (Dr. Gero explains that in order for their infinite energy reactors to function, he had to disable the behavioral limiters wired into their firmware). They are immune to being directly detected via Ki Sense or Scouters due to lacking a ki-signature. However, they can be detected indirectly via their opponents' ki. Androids #17 and #18 are special cases, because they had special infinite power cores, which is required by the Bio-Android, Cell, through absorption of the cyborg duo to reach his Perfect Form. Since they are human based, these android models can increase their power and get stronger if they train, and still retain their organic reproductive systems, allowing them to reproduce (as in the case of Android #18 giving birth to a healthy daughter, Marron). Despite having no drawbacks and infinite energy and stamina, these androids can still be parred on or even be outclassed by non-android opponents in strength and power, if they do not train that is (Examples when Future Trunks easily destroys Future 17 and 18 with little effort, when Cell easily dominates Present 17 and later, Present 18, and when the God of Destruction, Beerus knocks the latter out by elbowing her from behind). Regardless, they can be vulnerable to attacks if they let their guard down.
The Energy Absorption Model (エネルギー吸きゅう収しゅう式しき Enerugī Kyūshū-shiki): the kind which requires constant intake of energy, usually stolen from victims, to keep their power reservoir from draining, which would cause the android to malfunction (such as #19 and #20).[1] The more energy they absorb from their victims, the stronger they get. Curiously, Dr. Gero oversees his configuration into the latter, rather than the type with no apparent limitations (though it is implied by #18 that this is because the energy-absorbing model is easier to control). This model, like the other Android models (exempting Bio-Androids), is immune to being directly detected by Ki Sense or Scouters due to lacking a ki-signature. However, they can be detected indirectly due to the depleting ki-signature of the victim. These androids can be possibly vulnerable if they let their guard down. The Life Energy Absorption Type (生せい体たいエネルギー吸きゅう収しゅうタイプ Sei-tai Enerugī Kyūshū Taipu)[2]: The kind which can absorb life energy from other individuals to increase their own power, whose energy exists and circulates as a form of organic ki derived from the powerful warriors' cells they possess similar to that of naturally born beings. Bio-Androids and New Type Androids are the types like this. There are also hybrids of the models, such as Super 17, who is both an Infinite Energy Model Android and an Energy Absorption Model Android.
Types: There are four types of androids seen in the series, according to their "base" or materials:
Biotechnological Type Androids (バイオタイプ Baio-taipu, lit. "Biotype"): Androids made from an original organic (usually a human) as a base (such as #8 (according to some guides)[3][4], #13 (according to a game[5]), #17, #18, and #20). Since they are human based, they can become stronger if they train. Despite being referred to as "Androids", other than #20 they possess little to no robotic parts and the alterations to their being are simply a result of their organic matter being reconstructed.[6] Though they do not need to eat, they do need to hydrate. Also, their cells deteriorate slowly, so they age slowly too.[7] Zombie Type Androids: Androids created from corpses, Dr. Hedo's Alpha Series as well as Beta 1, Beta 7, and Dinodroid 1 fall under this type. Mai refers to them as being a separate type of Android from Biotechnological Types like #18.[8]
Mechanical Type Androids (メカタイプ Meka-taipu, lit. "Mecha Type")[2]: Androids which were made up completely from mechanical parts (such as Major Metallitron, #8 (according to Akira Toriyama), #13 (according to a guidebook[9]), #14, #15, #16, and #19). For some reason, the totally artificial ones have a blood-like liquid crimson substance, presumably a kind of power oil. Bio-Androids (バイオ人じん造ぞう人にん間げん Baio-Jinzōningen, lit. "Bio-Artificial Humans"): Androids constructed either through biological engineering or as clones spawned from other bio-androids rather than from machine parts and/or a human base (Cell and the Cell Juniors). The Dark Demon Realm Bio-Androids, like Mira, Fin and Fu, are also called Experiments (実験体 Jikken-tai).[10][11][12][13] New Type Androids (新あたらしいモデル Atarashī Moderu, lit. "New Model"): A superior type of Bio-Android with a higher performance. The only example of this type being #21, who possess the cells of numerous humans, the Z Fighters, Frieza, all of the cells that Cell is made from, and also the good and evil Majin Buus. 21 can absorb others using Majin Buu's Transfiguration Beam.
As the most developed bio-android with the most versatile energy source, Cell also possess elements of the first two android power supply types as well. For one, he is able to absorb the energy of others and integrate them into his being through his tail, either by sucking them up or swallowing them whole. The latter method actually transforms him into a stronger state, and if he absorbs both #17 and #18 this way, he evolves into a highly potent form he describes as "perfection". Also, his cells can store memory of any form of power they ever taste, allowing him to return to that form if he should ever nearly become vaporized after losing it. Thanks to this and combined with the Saiyan Power Regeneration of his Saiyan cell properties, he can in fact return from near death even stronger than ever before no matter how severely he should be weakened beforehand.

Capsule Corporation (カプセルコーポレーション Kapuseru Kōporēshon) is a company founded in Age 712, and is run by Dr. Brief, Bulma's father. The corporation is based around, and takes its name from, the Hoi-Poi Capsules (also known as DynoCaps) invented by Dr. Brief himself. The Capsule Corporation headquarters, which is also the Brief family's home, is located in West City, with its address being WST 3338926 K. The building, and the surrounding area, is large enough to have held the whole of the Namekian race after Frieza destroyed their planet and until they are wished to New Namek. The dome shaped building has three floors and a basement. The entrance is the lobby where the Receptionist is and that leads to the Atrium (nakaniwia) in the buildings interior, the space is nearly column free (which implies the house is monolithic) where dinosaurs, cats, dogs, and other animals live. The Atrium contains a Sparring Arena, and leads to the Capsule Room. There's also the exhibit room, the Central Computer Room (opened with a Red Access Card), the Security with a small jail, Dr. Brief's lab and workshop on level 01. The Brief family's rooms, notably Bulma's room (where Tapion tells his history to Bulma), are on level 02. On level 03, there are the West Tower and East Tower (opened with a Blue Access Card). The storage room for Capsule Corporation is where Bulma found the Two-Star Ball before the start of the Dragon Ball story. There is a secret underground basement where Future Bulma built the Time Machine in her timeline. Also, a Gravity Machine was built in the building between the end of the Cell Games Saga and the beginning of the Great Saiyaman Saga for Vegeta's training. It is used by Vegeta and his son Trunks during their preparation for the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament. Due to the invention and production of the extremely popular and useful capsules, the Capsule Corporation is one of the largest, richest and most influential companies in the world. At one point, the Capsule Corporation and the Red Ribbon Army front company Red Pharmaceuticals were competitive rivals in the business race, but the creation of the DynoCaps from Capsule Corporation resulted in Red Pharmaceuticals losing to it. Although Capsule Corp's primary product is the DynoCaps technology, the company also develops and produces many of the items found within capsules. This can be seen by vehicles and other items bearing the Capsule Corporation logo. Using the resources of Capsule Corporation, Bulma and Dr. Brief have created many useful items essential to the Dragon Team, including several interstellar spacecrafts, a Time Machine, and Gravity Machines. The company also produces computers, laptops and different products used for scientific research.
Due to the Brief family's long association with several alien visitors which began with Tights and her family meeting Jaco in Jaco the Galactic Patrolman and continued with Bulma's friendship with the Saiyan Goku, the Namekians, opposition to the Frieza Force, and Saiyan Prince Vegeta whom she eventually fell in love with and married, the company has gained access to various pieces of alien technology that they've managed to reverse engineer such as Battle Armor, Scouter, and Attack Ball. Bulma studied Jaco's Spaceship as a child while repairing it for him and even did a test flight herself. Bulma and Dr. Brief's also studied the Nameless Namekian's Spaceship while adapting it for use by the Z Fighters and Dr. Brief's with the remains of Goku's Attack Ball later developed a spaceship with an engine capable of reaching Namek in six days. Additionally, Bulma and Dr. Brief studied Android 16 while repairing him and Bulma studied Android 17's blueprints gaining an understanding of Dr. Gero's scientific work in Android development, knowledge which they applied to more noble and/or peaceful purposes such as the potential medical applications for said technology or advancements in artificial intelligence, cybernetics, and/or robotics. The Capsule Corporation logo is very simple, with just being two letters "C" and the company name. The logo is worn by the Capsule Corporation workers. Android 16 wears the Capsule Corporation logo over his Red Ribbon logo after being fixed by Bulma and her father. In Battle of Gods, it is revealed by Chi-Chi that Dr. Brief is the richest man in the world due to his company and inventions though Dr. Brief himself and his wife were ironically oblivious of this fact until Chi-Chi pointed it out to Mr. Satan when he mistook Dr. Brief for one of the catering staff at Bulma's birthday party. In Dragon Ball Super and Resurrection ‘F’, a female staff employee appears as one of the workers at the Capsule Corporation and during the God of Destruction Beerus Saga, interrupted Vegeta's gravity training to inform him he had a phone call from Bulma who was angry at Vegeta for missing her birthday party on the Princess Bulma. During the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, the Capsule Corporation supports Galactic Patrol and Deputized Z Fighters members by paying Android 18 10 million Zeni to work with the Galactic Patrol and her brother in confronting the Moro Corps invasion. When 18 reveals what the Capsule Corporation is paying her, Android 17 notes it makes it sound like they're mercenaries even though he joined the fight to protect the Earth and nature as Planet Eater Moro is a threat to both. Like her brother, Android 18 is immune to Moro's Ki stealing powers making the two Androids ideal fighters to counter Seven-Three and Moro due to their infinite energy and lack of ki thus by employing her, the Capsule Corporation gives the Galactic Patrol another ally who can assist in combating Moro and the emotionless alien Android Seven-Three (who has copied Moro's abilities).
In Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, the Capsule Corporation's old competitor Red Pharmaceuticals is revealed to have survived the Red Ribbon Army's destruction and their front business is currently lead by company president Magenta who acts its public face. Together with his trusted private chauffeur Carmine, Magenta seeks to resurrect the Red Ribbon Army and recruits Dr. Hedo to create new Red Ribbon Androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. It is also revealed that Red Pharmaceuticals has apparently been spying on the Z Fighters as they have video screens depicting Vegeta wearing his pink "Badman" shirt, Goku, Piccolo, and Majin Buu.

The Red Ribbon Army (RレッRドリボン軍ぐん Reddo Ribon Gun), briefly renamed the Black Ribbon Army when Staff Officer Black took over in the Dragon Ball anime, is a paramilitary criminal organization in the Dragon Ball manga and anime. They are mentioned in Dragon Ball Z during the Androids Saga where their Androids appear as the antagonists.
After their defeat the Red Ribbon Army continued operating through their front company Red Pharmaceuticals. In Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero they make their comeback with new android models. The Red Ribbon Army is known across the world, including even in backwater places such as Penguin Village, with Bulma stating that the Red Ribbon Army was so powerful and had such a massive influence that even Earth's Military couldn't stand a chance against them. Officially led by a diminutive Commander Red, the goal of the Red Ribbon Army is to use any means necessary to obtain the Dragon Balls and wish for world domination; however, Commander Red secretly plans his wish for him to be a much taller person. According to Red, he specifically made sure that the army was staffed of the best minds of every conceivable industry as part of their search for the Dragon Balls. Since he is very short in size, he despises being around those who are taller than him, telling Black constantly not to stand near him. When he finds out about Red's plan, the shocked Staff Officer Black asks how Red can sacrifice his own men to achieve this puny goal, to which Red simply grunted that if the soldiers had been more careful they would be alive. This causes Black to snap, and he kills the commander and takes control of the Red Ribbon Army, renaming it the Black Ribbon Army (only in the anime). The entire army was defeated when a young boy named Goku sought to stop the army's evil ways by infiltrating the Red Ribbon Army Headquarters, killing Black in the midst. After Black's defeat, the rest of the Red Ribbon Army flees the headquarters and presumably disbands.
However, the Red Ribbon Army's front company, Red Pharmaceuticals survived the army's downfall and manages to continue operating as a legitimate business. In the Androids Saga, Master Roshi mentions that, after its defeat, the Red Ribbon had been forgotten except for a few people.
However Dr. Gero of the Red Ribbon Army survived, and created several Androids who engaged in a conflict with the Earth's forces. Also noted, during the Androids Saga and the Cell Saga, the people on Earth aside from the Z Fighters do not know that the Androids and Cell were created by Dr. Gero from the Red Ribbon Army.
However, in Trunks and Cell's alternate timelines, Future Android 17 & 18 were apparently known by the surviving Earthlings to be Androids created by the Red Ribbon Army given that they wear the army's symbol on their clothing, though it is unclear if Future Dr. Gero's role in their creation and their murder of him is common knowledge. In the manga, flashbacks show what happened to Android 17 in the aftermath of the Cell Games. After leaving The Lookout, Android 18 finds her brother and explains how he was revived and that their Android Bombs had been removed by Shenron. Unbeknownst to either of them at the time, the Cell Jr. did not die at Gohan's hands, as they regenerated much like their father did after his self-destruction. Fortunately, Android 17 eventually learns of this and manages to tame them. Along with Android 17, the Cell Juniors protect Monster Island from poachers as like creatures living upon the island, they are effectively endangered species due to the death or their progenitor, Cell. Unfortunately, Android 17 forgets to warn Goten and Trunks about them, leading to a brief misunderstanding between the two junior rangers and the Cell Juniors, though eventually the Cell Juniors notice Goten and Trunks' MIR uniforms and stop fighting upon recognizing them Monster Island Rangers. In Super Hero, Red Pharmaceuticals, a front company for the Red Ribbon Army, is currently lead by company president Magenta who employs Carmine as his trusted chauffeur. Despite Red Ribbon having lost to the Capsule Corporation in the past due to its development of Capsules, Red Pharmaceuticals continues to function as a legitimate business. It is also revealed that Red Pharmaceuticals has apparently been spying on Goku and members of the Z Fighters such as Vegeta, Piccolo, Gohan, Mr. Satan and even Majin Buu despite most people's memories of the Majin Buu conflict being erased, however this may be due to them monitoring Good Buu's mentor, Mr. Satan who publicly took credit for Gohan's defeat of the Red Ribbon Bio-Android Cell. Magenta later seeks out Dr. Gero's grandson, Dr. Hedo, and hires him to construct new Red Ribbon Androids to eliminate the Z Fighters, resulting in the creation of the twin Androids Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. The new incarnation ultimately fell before they could openly declare their existence due to Gohan and Piccolo's actions, as well as Magenta activating Cell Max, an improved version of Cell.
Carmine initially intended to continue Magenta's dream of restarting the Red Ribbon Army after his death, although he eventually found himself forced to quit after he and Soldier 15 were accidentally teleported to Beerus's planet by Goku and directly witnessed a massive, volatile fight between Goku, Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Vegeta, and Broly, with only Red Pharmaceuticals being the sole hint at its existence. The Red Ribbon Army has an extremely small tolerance for failure, with the penalty for failure usually amounting to execution via firing squad. The range of executable failures usually ranges between failing a mission objective (such as retrieving a Dragon Ball,[2] or causing delays in retrieving one via indulging in unnecessary tasks[3] or missing twice against an enemy in direct combat[4], or losing to a child[5]), making technology that proved inferior to another,[6], for showing cowardice in the face of an enemy,[7] Failing to recognize a commanding officer that's returning to base,[8] or for minor blunders/virtually impossible tasks to succeed in such as failing to dodge Commander Red's cat when he sics it on personnel to test their reflexes,[9] to when soldiers sleep on the job[7] or pick noses.[3] A ranked member of the army can be allowed a chance to redeem himself if he fails, should he have an exceptional track record in the organization, such as General Blue's chance at redemption when he failed to retrieve the Dragon Balls from Goku despite his retrieving the Dragon Radar. But those chances are usually extremely rare, as evidenced by Commander Red's sentencing Colonel Silver to execution after the latter failed to retrieve the Dragon Ball from Goku, despite his earlier praising of Colonel Silver for his dodging his cat.
According to General Blue in the Japanese version of the anime as well as the manga, women are not needed in the Red Ribbon Army. However, there are actually female members in the army such as Colonel Violet and were at least willing to hire female mercenaries such as Hasky. The Red Ribbon Army had various ranks within their hierarchy, in a more simplified and basic manner compared to actual real-life militaries do, but they do center around the ranks within an actual army, despite having naval elements incorporated into the organization. Such ranks included are displayed from highest to lowest, such as General, Colonel, Captain, Sergeant Major, and Sergeant. Other ranks such as Staff Officer and Commander are the highest level and reserved for the army's leaders. The English dub also implies that Private was one of the ranks in the army.
The standard attire that nearly every member wears is a red bandanna of sorts, obviously tied to the army's namesake, which is either tied around their arm or neck (similar to Android 17 in Dragon Ball Z), the only known exception being General Blue, who instead wore a red tie in the anime.

In Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Red Pharmaceuticals is the Red Ribbon Army's front company which managed to survive the Red Ribbon Army's destruction. In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, according to Android 16 before the fall of the Red Ribbon Army, the front company under the direction of the Red Ribbon Army produced inferior quality Animorphaline (a drug originally manufactured by Magical Pharmaceuticals) which was sold to raise funding for the Red Ribbon Army.
In Super Hero, Red Pharmaceuticals seeks to restore the Red Ribbon Army and employs its top scientist to create two new Red Ribbon Androids. Additionally like their predecessor, they have amassed an army of soldiers, albeit with newer combat uniforms. Piccolo briefly disguises himself as one of these soldiers to infiltrate their base.
