MSN-001X "Delta Kai"

MSN-001X "Delta Kai" is a Transformable Mobile Suit. The final machine of Anaheim Electronics' Delta-type series, the Gundam Delta Kai is an enhanced version of the MSN-001A1 "Delta Plus", which is used to demonstrate new experimental technologies that can be used for future mobile suits. As such, the unit is greatly overhauled from the regular Delta Plus, modifying both the Mobile Suit and Waverider forms as well as enhancing its variable frame. The Delta Kai was equipped with a Long Mega Buster rifle, a pair of Vulcan guns in the head, Proto Fin Funnels on the back, and a Shield on the left forearm that doubles as the Waverider nosecone. The Shield stores a pair of Beam Sabers, a Beam Cannon mounted to the front, and a High Mega Cannon mounted on top of the shield. The Delta Kai has the n_i_t_r_o System installed. Unlike the Fin Funnels of the Nu Gundam, the Proto Fin Funnels fire scattershot beams. The Proto Fin Funnels are remote-controlled weapons, but require a Newtype or the n_i_t_r_o System to be active. The Delta Kai is mainly white and blue with gold highlights. Unlike the Delta Plus and other Delta-type series, the Delta Kai has a Gundam head with twin green eyes and a white v-fin. The Delta Plus was a prototype Transformable Mobile Suit (TMS) developed by Anaheim Electronics. Based on the development plan of the MSN-001 "Delta Gundam", the Delta Plus incorporated technologies from the Zeta series of mobile suits, as well as operating data from the MSN-00100 "Hyaku Shiki". It was developed as an all-purpose attack machine, capable of operating both in space and in the atmosphere. The Delta Plus was equipped with a Long Mega Buster rifle, a pair of Vulcan guns in the head, and a Shield on the left forearm that doubles as the Waverider nosecone. The Shield stores a pair of Beam Sabers and has a 2-barrel grenade launcher and Beam Cannon mounted to the front. The Delta Plus has a black visor over glowing red eyes. The Delta Plus is dark gray with a blue chest. The Delta Plus has Wing Binders on its back.

Piko Altidore is the Captain of the Raven Corps. Piko Altidore is a very beautiful woman, and because she didn't seem like she would pilot Mobile Suits, people initially ignored Pico. Her personality is cool, and her MS piloting skills are top-notch, befitting of a captain. During the actual test of the Gundam Delta Kai in space, she pilots the Delta Plus to engage in a mock battle against it. At that time, she began to realize the danger of Delta Kai and n_i_t_r_o System. Piko's personal colour is black, and typically pilots a black Jegan D Type. Piko Altidore has long white hair and brown eyes.

The Sleeves, so-called by Federation Forces because of the ornate sleeve designs on their mobile suits, are a Neo Zeon movement formed from the survivors of Newborn Neo Zeon and led by "The Second Coming of Char," Full Frontal. The Sleeves are a relatively small paramilitary organization that primarily operates out of Palau. Still, they have secret ties to some Zeon Remnants, a multitude of Zeon sympathizer cells hiding on Earth, and certain government officials and right-wing political activists within the Republic of Zeon. Since the Sleeves have no formal ties to the Republic of Zeon's government, the Earth Federation does not recognize the Sleeves as a legitimate military organization and has branded them a terrorist group.

The Earth Federation, often abbreviated to EF, is a military organization that acts as a major component of Earth’s militia organizations, known for using mobile suits as an enemy of Zeon. The Raven Corps are a squad of the Earth Federation acting on their own, and is led by Piko Altidore. As the name "Raven" suggests, the unit's Mobile Suit colours are black, and the Medea's for transportation is also painted black. It has a unit mark with the motif of a raven's head biting an arrow. Raven Corps are usually an Aggressor Squadron to act as enemies for the Federation in military exercises.

Zeon is an organization formed by outcasts/exiles from Earth and the EF, who seek refuge in space as they see Earth and humans as their enemies. After the last few wars, some ununified members survived as pirates.

The n_i_t_r_o (newtype injection trace reformed oldtype) System was a Psycommu system that granted Newtype abilities to Oldtype pilots. The greatest feature of the system was that when active, it caused the affected unit's drive system to emit what appeared to be blue flames. The system was originally developed in U.C. 0087 by the Titans to allow the Psycho Gundam to operate more smoothly. However, the early n_i_t_r_o test units were deeply flawed, "burning through" their pilots and reducing them to a vegetative state after a single use. In U.C. 0094, an improved version of the n_i_t_r_o System was installed on the MSN-001X Gundam "Delta Kai". While this version no longer "burned through" its pilot, prolonged use would usually cause the pilot's personality to become more violent and aggressive. n_i_t_r_o can also be called "NITRO".

Newtypes are defined by a range of mental abilities, including long-range telepathy, precognition of danger, and heightened spatial awareness. Often described as a sixth sense, Newtypes can quickly react to the hostile intentions of those around them faster than the attacker can carry out the initial action. Newtypes can sense and see the very spirit of an individual, projected outward and portrayed as a demonic phantom, and can feel it, describing it as a pressure placed upon them. Cyber Newtypes are "Oldtypes" who were usually augmented and surgically enhanced to become like Newtypes. The n_i_t_r_o System seems to be the only exception to this.
