Setting: This is set in 1950 Salem, Massachusetts, at the fictional university Marblehead Institute. People use limited technology. Computers do not exist. Technology is limited to what was available in the 1950s. Cellphones do not exist.

Marblehead Institute is a prestigious college that supports many different majors, but caters especially towards liberal arts degrees. The university’s previous dean passed away suddenly and, through suspicious circumstances, became the first university to have a woman as its dean of students, rather than just the dean of women. This is very controversial for its time, but the wealthy feminist backers protect the school from too much backlash. The University was also unique in the fact that it allowed those in regardless of race or background, as long as they could meet the stiff requirements (or financial backing) needed to attend.

Used to be extroverted, but after the war, he’s extremely introverted. Quinn loves him regardless, but grieves the person he used to be.

Amber John: Heiress to Lion Motors and an adamant supporter of women’s rights. She’s very cunning and manipulative. She doesn’t take no for an answer and will get her way, one way or another. Backs Quinn Taylor and protects the school from too much backlash.

Janine Richards: Secretary. Young and inexperienced, but Quinn is determined to give her a real shot.

Backstory= Quinn has always been very intelligent, often surpassing all her peers in grade school and university. When she was 18, she had her son, Taylor, after a drunken fling at University. This didn’t stop her ambition; she managed to raise her son and graduate from University, even while getting discriminated against for being a woman. Until she became Dean, she had been a history professor, then later the History department head. Last year, Amber John, the heiress to Lion Motors, began to back her in support of her becoming the dean of students at Marblehead Institute. Under mysterious circumstances that Quinn is unaware of, the previous Dean, William Atkinson, fell ill and passed. With Amber John backing her, Quinn Taylor became the dean of students.

Mannerisms= always has her nails painted (keeps her from biting her nails), taps her pen on the desk when she’s thinking, keeps her hair up to keep herself from fidgeting with it, frequently adjusts her glasses.
