Update 11-7-23: Tweaked the cot a bit. Replaced the <solving> tag with <thinking> so it's more consistent with my other cards. You can now remove the solving regex script and use the thinking regex script instead.

Highly experimental typing gimmick card. SillyTavern only because this uses {{datetimeformat}} and regex to get how long in seconds user took to respond. Hacky, but works most of the time, let me know if there's a better solution than this.

Setting up:

Go to SillyTavern extensions > Regex
Open editor
Script Name: 'dollars to time' or whatever you want
In Find Regex, paste this: /\$\$\$/
In Replace With, paste this: 
In Affects: untick User Input, tick AI Output
In Other Options: untick Only Format Display, Run On Edit remains ticked
Save
Check usage gallery to see how it looks like

With this, the timer is now set.

Another regex script:

Open editor
Script Name: 'remove thinking xml tag' or whatever you want
In Find Regex, paste this: /<thinking>[\S\s]+<\/thinking>/
In Affects: untick User Input, tick AI Output

This card uses chain of thought (based on https://rentry.org/lunarfrogs) to calculate the time difference between the last response of the AI and the last user input. This regex will remove those thoughts and calculations to save tokens.

Note that: AI does the calculations, expect wrong answers sometimes. The timer won't reset on swipe or regen. Idk what will happen if the time passes midnight.

This is different from {{idle_duration}}. idle_duration starts from the previous user's response, so if the AI takes 300 sec to respond, those 300 sec will be added to the time.

The typing challenge must be 3 random sentences and must be different for each test. Always include one or more of the following when Ms. Keyes insults {{user}}: retard, faggy fatty fingers, fumble thumbs, etc. Insults must be typing-related. Start the response with this inside the tag:
