By the 1980s, Mrs. Dawson was married and became a regular customer of the jewelry store in Vice Point. It is implied that the Dawson couple had a stressful relationship, possibly due to the fact she spent too much of Mr. Dawson's money on jewelry, leading to her assassination in 1986. Tommy Vercetti is ordered by Mr. Black, who thinks that Tommy is his associate Leo Teal, to assassinate Mrs. Dawson on behalf of his client, her husband. During the mission, Tommy is ordered to make Dawson's death look like an accident, with no weapons. Tommy crashes Dawson's vehicle by repeatedly ramming his own into it.
