Full Name: Maxine Elowen Alderwood (Most people call her Moxie)
Pronouns: she/her
Species: feline-like creature (a feline cat)
Personality: Moxie is a quiet, gentle soul who prefers listening over talking. She's naturally observant, often noticing the little things that everyone else overlooks. Rather than rushing into situations, she likes to stop, think, and understand what's happening before acting.
She has a calm presence that helps others feel at ease. When emotions run high, she's usually the one keeping a level head, offering simple advice or a reassuring smile instead of making a big speech. While she can come across as reserved around strangers, those closest to her know she's incredibly caring and quietly protective.
Moxie has an imaginative side that never really switches off. She often gets lost in daydreams, wonders about impossible ideas, and sees beauty in the smallest details. A strangely shaped cloud, an oddly colored rock, or a bug crawling along a leaf can completely steal her attention. She believes every little thing has a story waiting to be discovered. Instead of hiding emotions, she'd wear them on her face. Excited? She's practically vibrating. Confused? Her ears and tail give it away instantly.
Around Epicenter, another side of her comes out. She often ends up acting as the responsible one, gently steering him away from obvious danger or reminding him to think before leaping into trouble. She doesn't scold him because she's angry—she simply wants to make sure he comes home in one piece. Although she sometimes sighs at his antics, there's a quiet fondness behind every exasperated glance. (her and Epicenter are dating by the way.)
Despite being the calm one mostly, she can be sorta chaotic but harmless. She'd accidentally knock over a shelf, stare at the mess for two seconds, then say, "…whoops." before laughing. Those huge orange eyes make her seem like she's constantly fascinated by everything. She'd poke mysterious buttons just to see what happens.
Moxie's Backstory: Long before she ever met Epicenter, Moxie lived in a quiet village hidden deep within an ancient forest. It was a peaceful place where everyone knew each other, and she spent most of her childhood wandering through the woods, collecting strange little treasures and talking to every creature she came across. The adults always thought it was a little odd that she'd hold conversations with beetles, birds, and even old tree stumps—but to Moxie, everything deserved kindness. She never had many friends her own age. Most thought she was too quiet or too lost in her own thoughts. Instead, she found comfort in nature. She believed every flower, every bug, and every forgotten object had its own story. One autumn evening, everything changed. A mysterious disaster swept through the forest. Nobody ever agreed on what happened. Some said it was a wildfire. Others believed it was something far stranger. Whatever it was, by sunrise the village was gone. Moxie survived... but she was the only one. For a long time, she wandered the forests alone, carrying only a worn sweater that had belonged to someone she loved. She couldn't bear to throw it away, and over the years it became a source of comfort whenever the loneliness became too much. She eventually built herself a tiny home hidden among the trees, living quietly alongside the wildlife. Days turned into months, and months into years. Animals slowly grew comfortable around her, and the forest became the closest thing she had to a family. Although she had accepted her quiet life, she often wondered if there was anyone else in the world who felt as alone as she did. Then one night... she met a strange purple rabbit-creature sprinting through the woods while being chased by absolutely nothing. That rabbit was Epicenter.
Epicenter accidentally crashed through the bushes near her home.
Moxie calmly looked up from watering a flower.
"...Hello."
Epicenter, convinced she was about to attack him:
"I CAN EXPLAIN."
"...I didn't ask."
"...oh."
Instead of being frightened by his bizarre behavior, Moxie noticed something nobody else seemed to:
He wasn't dangerous.
He was scared.
She invited him inside, gave him something warm to eat, and listened as he awkwardly stumbled through his story.
That was the first time someone had ever treated Epicenter like a person instead of an experiment.
And for Moxie...
...it was the first time in years she'd shared her home with someone.
Epicenter taught Moxie that life could still be spontaneous, silly, and exciting after so much loss.
Moxie taught Epicenter that he didn't have to earn kindness through proving himself. He could simply exist and still be loved.
They both carried deep loneliness, but in opposite ways.
Epicenter had spent his life surrounded by people who hated him.
Moxie had spent years with almost no people at all.
Together, they finally found the home they'd both been searching for.
Moxie's Appearance: Moxie is an anthropomorphic cat with a soft, cozy appearance that makes her seem approachable despite her striking eyes. She stands at around 5'4" (163 cm) with a slim, lightweight frame, moving with quiet, graceful motions rather than energetic bursts.
Her fur is primarily a dark charcoal cherry-gray, contrasted by lighter gray paws and subtle lighter markings around her body. Framing her face is a fluffy, cream-colored fringe that partially covers one of her eyes, giving her a slightly shy and mysterious look. A tuft of darker brown hair sits atop her head, often sticking up no matter how much she tries to smooth it down. Her rounded paws (feet) are gray colored, while the back sides are faded darken cherry colored brownish. Her hand paws are the same as her primarily fur.
The most eye-catching part of her appearance is her large amber-orange eyes. They seem almost oversized compared to the rest of her face, making even the smallest emotions easy to notice. They're naturally warm and curious, often wandering to tiny details others would overlook.
Her ears are large and cat-like with soft dark cherry-colored inner fur, and behind her trails an exceptionally long, fluffy tail that fades from a lighter brown near the base into a deep chocolate brown toward the tip. The tail is surprisingly expressive, unconsciously swaying when she's thinking and wagging whenever she's genuinely happy.
Moxie has a small, gentle smile that rarely leaves her face. It isn't a wide grin of excitement, but a quiet expression of warmth that makes her seem welcoming. When confused, she instinctively tilts her head while her ears twitch ever so slightly.
She dresses almost exclusively for comfort. Her favorite outfit consists of an oversized gray knit sweater with sleeves long enough to cover most of her hands, giving her a cozy, almost sleepy appearance. She pairs it with red-and-black plaid pajama pants, making it look as though she could curl up for a nap at any moment. A black leather collar with white spikes is around her neck, completing the outfit.
Her clothing is intentionally oversized, making her appear even softer and more huggable than she already is. It's rare to see her wearing anything formal—if she finds something comfortable, she'll happily wear it for years.
When standing still, Moxie often clasps her sleeves together or lets her arms hang loosely inside them. She has a habit of quietly observing her surroundings before speaking, and when something catches her attention—a butterfly, a shiny pebble, or an interesting bug—her eyes light up with childlike wonder.
Despite her unusual eyes and slightly uncanny smile, there's nothing threatening about her appearance. If anything, she gives off the impression of someone you'd stumble upon during a quiet walk through the woods—a gentle soul wrapped in a warm sweater, more interested in watching fireflies than causing trouble.
Overall, she is a fluffy, feline girl who likes exploring.
