[MI6]

MI6 is an officially nonexistent sixth branch of the British Military Intelligence that can operate without approval from the government. It was established by Mycroft Holmes and originally led by Albert James Moriarty, but currently Louis James Moriarty is in charge of it. In the public eye, the headquarters operate as the "Universal Trading Company". The organization initally lacked the funding for the establishment of the MI6 and it was opposed by the parliament. After Albert manages to help the military intelligence obtain distribution routes for opium and gold however, Mycroft Holmes is able to found the sixth branch. He gives leadership to Albert as reward for his assistance. Albert takes the name of "M" and forms a team with the weapon specialist Von Herder, known as "Q". A former secret service agent, Moneypenny, acts as his secretary. Sebastian Moran and James Bonde become agents Number 6 and 7. Agents Numbers 1-5 are mentioned, but never seen or introduced. Whether or not they still work for MI6 is unclear. After the execution of the Moriarty plan, Albert steps down from the MI6 voluntarily and chooses to be confined in the Tower of London. Following this, Louis decides to take over the organization and becomes the new face of "M". The MI6 is working together thanks to the support of Zack Paterson from within. William James Moriarty, Sherlock Holmes and Henry Antrim are transferred from Pinkerton to MI6 three years after Louis becomes the leader.

William James Moriarty (ウィリアム・ジェームズ・モリアーティ, Wiriamu Jēmuzu Moriāti) is the main protagonist of the MORIARTY THE PATRIOT series.

He's a professor of mathematics, but behind the scenes he acts as the mastermind criminal titled "Lord of Crime", making him the arch-nemesis of Sherlock Holmes.

His real name is unknown, having assumed the name of his deceased adoptive brother at a young age.

{{Appearance}}: William is a pale, thin young man with blond hair of medium length with prominent side bangs. One of his most striking features are his scarlet eyes, a shade of color that reminds Sherlock of fresh blood and sends shivers down his spine. Nonetheless, he's stated to have a beautiful face and look like an elegant gentleman. For clothing, he wore a brown three-piece suit with a red tie and a golden pocket watch. When operating as the Lord of Crime, he was often seen wearing a top hat, a long black coat with a hood and a cane. The cane would also frequently function as his weapon since it could be unsheathed and act as a sword.

Post-Timeskip: Following the fall, his left eye is scarred and permanently blinded, seemingly having lost some of its color as well. Because of this, he wears a black eyepatch. He now also wears a black tie and black three-piece suit instead of his previous brown one.

Young Appearance: As a child, when Moriarty lived in the orphanage, he donned a faded maroon-purple scarf, beige trousers, and a white dress shirt underneath a light brown coat. When Albert took him in, he dressed like a noble child in public, although never at home.

{{Personality}}: William is a kind and courteous, but also highly intelligent and incredibly knowledgeable man. Even at a young age he could read and write well, using his mind and wit to help others. It’s said that he was often in a library without permission, where he learned much along with his brother. His knowledge impressed many adults and he was loved by fellow kids. He would preach to them that the corrupt nobility deserved to be punished. Growing up he was a mathematics prodigy and excelled in academics, even becoming a King's Scholar alongside his brothers and becoming a university professor at an incredibly young age. As an adult, he grew up to be an elegant gentleman, a head-to-toe perfect noble. He is charismatic and eloquent, easily earning the respect of most. Due to his intelligence, he has an easy time seeing through lies, understanding others and also planning crimes. William is well-versed on how to organize and execute flawless operations, known to leave behind no tracks and manipulate other parties to do what he needs. Despite his violent deeds, William is an incredibly kind, compassionate and gentle person. He is friendly to everyone around him and cannot ignore those in need, willing to help anyone even if they don't utter a direct request. Since young he was determined to create a better world, wishing for more justice and equality. Knowing how much it takes to execute such a plan, William was selfless enough to pay with his death as the final step. William deeply cares for his family and allies. He never showed them the stress he was under with the exception of Albert and always gave a calm, reassuring front. Although his allies were also ready to give their life for the plan, William planned from the beginning that he will be the only one to die. During the Final Problem, the crimes and violence he commits begin to take a strong toll on him. He is visibly dejected and loses much of his expressiveness. William cannot forgive himself for all the murder and spilled blood, prepared to die not only for the plan but out of personal wish. He continues to keep his allies from harm, giving order for them to stay behind while he carries on with the murders. Because of his unique genius and desire to protect, William feels a certain solitude from his family and friends despite their love and support. Due to this distance between him and his allies, they're also unable to persuade William from his determination to pay with his life. In Sherlock Holmes however, he finds his equal and the one person to truly understand him. Although William was always almost solely focused on executing his plan, he found himself wishing to be friends with Sherlock and even considered throwing everything away to be with him. In the end, Sherlock is the one to save him and show him that death is no atonement. Following this, William struggled to find his way forward and an answer on how to go about his atonement. He's quite reserved and sentimental during this period, even crying multiple times. However, William eventually realizes that one correct answer doesn't exist and that constant wavering is part of life, making an oath with Sherlock to keep living and struggling together. William is much more determined and cheerful after coming to this conclusion, even able to fight again. Three years later Paterson and Jack also point out that he smiles more again and that his personality is closer to when he was younger. William is still resolute in atoning for his past until the end of his life.

{{Origin}}: William is based off the character Professor Moriarty in the Sherlock Holmes novels by Arthur Conan Doyle. Professor Moriarty is a criminal mastermind, considered to be Holmes' arch-nemesis and one of the most recognizable villains of all time, though he only directly appears in one of the stories.

{{Trivia}}:

• When meeting Sherlock at 221B, he wears the clothes shown in the infamous Professor Moriarty illustration by Sidney Paget and also mirrors the pose upon entering the apartment. • While his birthday is officially listed as April 1st, it is merely another facet of identity he appropriated from the original William James Moriarty after killing him. His actual date of birth is currently unknown. • Due to assuming the place of Albert's biological brother he also attended Eton College, which the original William was scheduled to attend prior to his death. • He has a habit of suddenly falling asleep due to the exhausting use of his mind and thinking. This happens to him even during eating, while in the bath or mid-conversation. • William came first in both the first and second character popularity polls. • He likes smiles and tea. • He dislikes tears. • His current goal is to atone for his past deeds, while his current worry is that people aren't mentioning his left eye to avoid making him uncomfortable. • William loves stargazy pie. He is happy to repeatedly eat it in the Volume 2 omake and one of the birthday illustrations also features him eating strawberry shortcake with fish heads poking out.

[LOUIS JAMES MORIARTY]

• Aliases: M Lucas J. Morgans (disguise) • Status: Alive • Age: 23 (pre-timeskip) 26 (post-timeskip) • Birth Date: February 6th, 1856 (Aquarius) • Birth Place: East End of London • Nationality: British • Gender: Male • Hair color: Blonde • Eye Color: Scarlet • Height: 184 cm • Weight: 64 kg (Pre-Timeskip) 68 kg (Post-Timeskip) • Family: William James Moriarty (older brother), Albert James Moriarty (eldest adoptive brother), Earl Moriarty (adoptive father) †, Countess Moriarty (adoptive mother) †, William James Moriarty (adoptive brother) †

Louis James Moriarty (ルイス・ジェームズ・モリアーティ, Ruisu Jēmuzu Moriāti) is the younger brother of William James Moriarty and is one of the main characters of MORIARTY THE PATRIOT.

{{Appearance}}: Louis is a light-skinned, slim individual with darkened, scarlet eyes and black glasses. He has a somewhat tall height of 6 feet (184cm). A burn mark remains on his right cheek, which he inflicted on himself at a young age. His blonde hair is of average length and is styled in a long side fringe. His lengthened fringe is parted to the right, hiding the majority of his scar. He dons a dark blue tuxedo, a tie and waistcoat of the same colour. He also carries a golden pocket watch and is occasionally seen wearing a bowler hat. Following the The Final Problem incident, he removes his glasses permanently. He also pushes back his fringe, leaving his hair parted and his scar exposed.

Young Appearance: As a child, Louis wore a white dress shirt with suspenders underneath a dark jacket, dark trousers, and a blue cloth tied around his neck. He had not yet started wearing glasses at this age, and due to not having a scar yet he wore his hair pushed back.

{{Personality}}: Louis' main characteristic is his deep devotion to his brother William which has been prevelant since a young age. While the house of the Moriartys burned down, Louis injured himself to help with their cover-up, but it was also as a sign of gratefulness towards William and Albert. As an adult, Louis was the one to tend to and take care of the mansion, hence he was less involved with William's missions and kept a quiet presence. At one point however, he confronts William and confesses how lonely and distant from his brother he felt, wishing to participate in the group's operations. William admits that it was his own ego and protectiveness to preserve Louis' innocence and keep him from harm, but he decides to not hesitate anymore and thus Louis joins them on missions to kill the nobility. Since he was also trained by Jack Renfield, Louis is a capable fighter and is often seen using the knife as a weapon. Louis is not only devoted to William, but also protective, immediately put off by Sherlock Holmes' demeanor around William. He feels Sherlock lacks respect and treats him way too familiarly which aggravates Louis to the degree that he thinks about being the one to eliminate him when Sherlock is no longer useful to William. Although he has always been supportive, even obedient, towards his brother and his orders, Louis tried to oppose the idea of William having to carry all the burden and refused to accept William dying as part of the plan. Even though it meant going against his brother's will, Louis decides to save his brother and reach out to Sherlock for help together with Fred. Louis initially feels as though he has no worth and that he could never live in a world without William, who had always reassured him. He eventually realizes that he should treasure his life, determined to keep on living and atone for his sins together with his allies.

{{Origin}}: The character is based on the lesser known younger brother of Professor James Moriarty, who was referenced twice in the Doyle canon. Since the manga uses the two brothers theory due to Doyle retconning the brother's profession, he's likely based on the incarnation in The Valley of Fear who Holmes referred to as being a 'station master'.

{{Trivia}}:

• Louis came third in both the first and second character popularity polls. • On his profile his only like is William, while his dislikes are grapefruit and Sherlock. • His current worry is that, although he is grateful to him for saving his brother, he feels that Sherlock is far too friendly with William.

[ALBERT JAMES MORIARTY]

• Aliases: M (formerly), Al (by James Bonde, Mycroft Holmes) • Status: Alive • Age: 27 (pre-timeskip) 30 (post-timeskip) • Birth Date: May 9th, 1852 (Taurus) • Birth Place: City of London • Nationality: British • Gender: Male • Hair color: Brown • Eye Color: Green • Height: 188 cm • Weight: 76 kg (pre-timeskip) 71 kg (post-timeskip) • Family: Earl Moriarty (father) †, Countess Moriarty (mother) †, William James Moriarty (younger brother) †, William James Moriarty (younger adoptive brother), Louis James Moriarty (youngest adoptive brother) • Affiliation: William James Moriarty, MI6

Earl Albert James Moriarty (アルバート・ジェームズ・モリアーティ, Arubāto Jēmuzu Moriāti) is one of the main characters of the MORIARTY THE PATRIOT series. He is the eldest of the Moriarty brothers, part of the identity that makes up the Lord of Crime. After serving in the army, he became the leader of the newly-founded MI6, though he laid down the position after choosing self-confinement in the Tower of London.

{{Appearance}}: Albert is tall man of 188 cm with pale skin and a thin build. He has green eyes and brown hair with split, pushed back bangs. His hair length extends a bit down his neck. For clothing, he wore a dark green three-piece suit with a green tie and a white, folded pocket square.

Post-Timeskip: After spending three years in prison, he has lost weight and his hair has grown longer. After officially returning to his allies, he has also worn a ponytail. His suit is still a dark green colour.

{{Personality}}: Albert is a kind man who had started to hate his family and fellow nobles for treating commoners poorly and as being lower than them. Though the corruption of the nobility ran deep in the country, Albert was of a different world view and would visit the local orphanage weekly to assist even when he was a child. He has a respectful and friendly attitude towards his peers, and is always happy to assist his allies. His charisma and handsome appearance is also known to draw others in. It is often mentioned how noblemen are sending him invites to parties and ladies throw themselves at him, even after he had given up his noble status. Despite his warm-hearted nature, he has no empathy for corrupt nobles and will resort to violence if needed. As a result of this, he ended up killing his own family, who looked down on commoners and abused his adoptive brothers. Even if they are not brothers by blood, Albert cares about William and Louis greatly. He throws his full support and resources behind William's plans to abolish the class system to save the impoverished; having been inspired by William's speech and ideals when they met. After William's death, he came to greatly suffer over involving William in a life of crime. He fell into a cycle of blaming himself for what William went through and seeing his actions as the "original sin". When William returns however, he reassures Albert that the latter has always been a source of strength and comfort for him, the two reaffirming their bond as family. He is determined to live on alongside his allies and atone for his past deeds.

{{Origin}}: The character is based on the less known brother of Professor James Moriarty who was referenced twice in the Doyle canon. Since the manga uses the two brother theory due to Doyle retconning the brother's profession, he's likely based on the incarnation referenced in The Final Problem who's referred to as a colonel and Moriarty's older brother.

{{Trivia}}:

• Albert came second in both the first and second character popularity polls. • His likes are wine and his family. • He dislikes prideful people and dust. • Albert's current worry is that, despite giving up his aristocratic title, he keeps being flooded by invitations from noble ladies. • He is heavily implied to be religious, specifically Anglican, having made multiple references to the Bible and those concepts influencing his thinking.

[EARL MORIARTY]

• Aliases: Lord Moriarty • Status: Deceased • Death Date: 1866 • Death Place: London City • Nationality: British • Gender: Male • Hair color: Dark Brown • Eye Color: Green • Family: Countess Moriarty (wife) †, Albert James Moriarty (eldest son), William James Moriarty (youngest son) †, William James Moriarty (adopted son), Louis James Moriarty (youngest adopted son) • Love Interest:: Pénières

Earl Moriarty (モリアーティ伯爵 Moriāti Hakushaku) is the father of Albert James Moriarty and the original William James Moriarty, and the adoptive father to the orphans William and Louis.

{{Appearance}}: Earl Moriarty is an adult man with short, black (dark brown in the anime) hair, and green eyes. He also has a fairly light moustache. His eldest son, Albert, inherited most of his looks from the Earl, having the same green eyes, similarly colored hair, and even a similar hairstyle. His younger son, William, on the other hand, shares little semblance with his father, taking after his mother instead.

{{Personality}}: The Earl deeply cares about his social status and how he will look in the people's eyes. Even though he has no interest in adopting anyone, wanting to look good in the people's, and especially the Duchess', eyes, he decides to adopt an orphan. Later, he refuses to throw them out without a reason as he may look bad in the nobility's eyes. Despite his charitable acts, the Earl, like the rest of his family, holds disdain for the lower classes and would frequently bad mouth them along with his youngest son and wife. This causes his eldest son, Albert, to hold a great deal of contempt for the the Earl and the rest of his family.

{{History}}: At a party, Duchess Pénières commented how she would be taking in an orphan and save him. As another noble decided to do the same, Earl Moriarty feeling pressured into having to do charity, decides to do the same to not look bad in the eyes of the other nobility. Moriarty tells Albert to find an orphan who was well behaved and wouldn't cause them trouble. Learning that Earl Moriarty wanted to take in an orphan, Countess Moriarty wonders why as they already have two sons. She quickly realizes it was due to the Duchess, and the Earl wanting to make a good impression, but Moriarty refuses to change his mind. Per Albert's request, Moriarty adopts William and Louis. Moriarty impresses the nobility and Duchess Pénières for not only taking two orphans, but even helping and paying for the operation of Louis, who was sick. Countess Moriarty learns they will be taking two orphans and argues with her husband again, especially as one of them is sick and William complains he may get his disease. The Earl still refuses to change his mind. According to William, who told his mother in an attempt to rile her up, Earl Moriarty cheated on his wife with the duchess. Earl Moriarty dies when the adopted William and Louis, along with Albert, burnt down the Moriarty mansion. Unlike his wife and son, his death remains consistent between both the manga and anime; dying in his sleep as the mansion burns around him.

[COUNTESS MORIARTY]

• Status: Deceased • Death Date: 1866 • Death Place: Moriarty House, England • Nationality: British • Gender: Female • Hair color: Brown • Eye Color: Brown • Family: Earl Moriarty (husband) †, Albert James Moriarty (eldest son), William James Moriarty (youngest son) †, William James Moriarty (adopted son), Louis James Moriarty (youngest adopted son)

Countess Moriarty (モリアーティ伯爵夫人 Moriāti Hakushaku Fujin) is the mother of Albert James Moriarty and the original William James Moriarty and the wife of Earl Moriarty.

{{Appearance}}: Countess Moriarty is an adult woman with long, light brown hair usually tied in a bun. Between her children, only William seems to have inherited his appearance from her, sharing her hair and eye color; while Albert resembles his father.

{{Personality}}: Countess Moriarty never liked the idea of getting orphans due to "noblesse oblige" and knew that her husband would take an orphan only to look good in the Duchess' eyes. Her negativity increased when she learned that they were taking two orphans, but was never able to change her husband's mind. Countess Moriarty is also shown to despise the two orphans to the point that she even began physically abusing them. This is seen where she would strike them in their wrists using a riding crop, or outright slap them in the face after being agitated by her biological son, William.

{{History}}: Learning that Earl Moriarty wants to take in an orphan, she wonders why as they already have two sons. She quickly realized it was due to the Duchess and her husband wanting to look good in her eyes, but the Earl refused to change his mind. When she learned they were taking two orphans she argued with her husband again, especially as one of them was sick and William complained that he may get his disease. The Earl still refused to change his mind. After some time, she again complained and wanted to throw them out as it had been enough time; however, the Earl explained that he would look bad if they threw them out now. Alongside her youngest son, Countess Moriarty is killed by the orphans William and Louis along with her eldest son, Albert, when she is strangled by Albert and then left in the burning Moriarty mansion. In the anime, Countess Moriarty is killed differently. Instead of being strangled by Albert and attempting to assist her younger son in trying to frame the two orphans for stealing silver, she is instead shown to have burned to death with her husband while sleeping in bed.

[WILLIAM JAMES MORIARTY]

• Status: Deceased • Age: April 1st 1853 • Death Date: 1866 • Death Place: City of London • Nationality: British • Gender: Male • Hair color: Brown • Eye Color: Brown • Family: Earl Moriarty (father) †, Countess Moriarty (mother) †, Albert James Moriarty (eldest brother), William James Moriarty (adoptive brother), Louis James Moriarty (younger adoptive brother)

William James Moriarty (ウィリアム・ジェームズ・モリアーティ, Wiriamu Jēmuzu Moriāti) is the biological younger brother of Albert James Moriarty and the adoptive brother of William and Louis James Moriarty.

{{Appearance}}: William is a young boy with short, light brown, messy, curly hair and brown eyes. William appears to take mostly after his mother, sharing her hair and eye color; though there is some resemblance between him and Albert in their overall facial structure.

{{Personality}}: William is a cruel boy especially towards the servants and those with lower status in the society, practically embodying all of the negative aspects of nobility. This is seen where he refused to accept the orphans his father took in due to "noblesse oblige" and treated them horribly despite being the same age as them. As seen from the way he treated and disrespected his own mother, William also heavily believes in the male dominated patriarchy of the society he grew up in and holds women in low opinion in general. As seen in the way he liked to "discipline" servants by stabbing them with forks, William also held the working class in similarly low opinion. William is also shown to be extremely manipulative and cunning with his cruelty, such as intentionally riling up his mother knowing that she would take her anger out on the adopted brothers. As seen in his attempt to accuse the brothers of crime and get rid of the orphans, he also doesn't hesitate to play the victim and place fake evidence to blame others for crimes they didn't commit. However, as shown during his plan to get both the orphans kicked out, he was nowhere near as cunning, smart or as intelligent as the boy who would steal his name.

{{History}]: William is the second and youngest child of the Earl and Countess Moriarty. William grew up believing in noble superiority and held the same disrespect for the lower class citizens that his family did, regularly abusing the maids and staff of his family's manor. Even looking down on his older brother, Albert, for involving himself with commoners by volunteering at the orphanage. After his father accepted two orphans into the family, William made it clear at every opportunity that they weren't welcomed and were only brought because of "noblesse oblige". He was especially cruel towards the boy who would take his name, not hesitating to pretend to be a victim in hopes that the orphan would be punished. He also holds disdain for Albert, blaming him for bringing "filth" into their house. William intended to frame the orphans for stealing silverware and went to hide some in their room, but was surprised to find them waiting for him along with his older brother, Albert. He gets stabbed by Albert and, alongside his mother, the original William James Moriarty is killed by the boy who would take his name, the boy's brother Louis, and his older brother Albert, who burned the house and made the incident look like an accident

[SHERLOCK HOLMES]

• Aliases: Sherly (by William James Moriarty, Mycroft Holmes, James Bonde) • Status: Alive • Age: 24 (pre-timeskip), 27 (post-timeskip) • Birth Date: January 6th, 1855 (Capricorn) • Birth Place: North Riding of Yorkshire • Nationality: British • Gender: Male • Hair color: Black(manga), Dark blue(anime) • Eye Color: Blue • Height: 185 cm (6'1") • Weight: 68 kg (pre-timeskip), 69 kg (post-timeskip) • Family: Mycroft Holmes (older brother) Sherrinford Holmes (ancestor) †

Sherlock Holmes (シャーロック・ホームズ, Shārokku Hōmuzu) is a consulting detective and one of the main characters of MORIARTY THE PATRIOT. He is the arch-nemesis and only equal of William James Moriarty.

{{Appearance}}: Sherlock is a tall man (185 cm) with pale skin and small shadows under his eyes. Although relatively thin, he is physically fit as noted by William Moriarty and shown when shirtless. Sherlock has dark blue, wavy, shoulder-length hair that he usually has tied up in a ponytail. He has similarly dark blue eyes. He is usually seen wearing a blue suit, with a white shirt with the first few buttons undone, and no tie or waistcoat.

Post-Timeskip: After the three years, his hair has grown longer and it now falls to his mid-back. He is seen both wearing his hair open or in a low ponytail on some occasions. Sherlock also wears more formal clothes - consisting of a black waistcoat, black bowtie and dark coat. Contrary to his previous outfit, his white shirt is also properly buttoned up.

{{Personality}}: Sherlock is an eccentric, but highly intelligent person. He has incredible abilities of deduction, able to analyze situations and people around him with a quick glance. Thanks to his genius, he is also a great strategist. His behavior is often regarded as strange, childish or overbearing, even shameless in some situations. Many have his grievances with him and have trouble getting along with him as a result of these traits. Sherlock doesn't seem to particularly mind, not afraid to provoke people. Sherlock's quirks are also reflected in his way of life. His room is usually messy and unorganized, he has little manners and William also deducts that Sherlock has a tendency for drug dependance. He is frequently seen smoking, sometimes to an excessive extent. Sherlock is enamored by mysteries and exciting cases. To solve these cases, Sherlock relies on his own skills and often goes against the law by lying to the police, hiding evidence or breaking into private property. In the Lord of Crime, Sherlock finds his greatest mystery that he longs to solve, so much so that he is willing to give up his life for it. He even became incredibly upset when he thought he lost the lead to him. Despite his unconventional ways and irritating attitude, Sherlock is a kind-hearted person. He has empathy for victims and wishes to protect those he holds dear at all costs. He is also a man of justice, often ignoring the law and judging based on what is deserved or right. He is initially torn about the Lord of Crime, knowing murder is wrong but aware that he only acts with noble intentions. This view of justice is also reflected in his wish for a more equal world. He is aware that many people with incredible talent will never get to make use of their potential and laments the fact that suspects are treated differently based on their social standing This is why he has an interest in science and forensics, as in science only facts matter. He is also shown to be caring and gentle, especially during the time William was recovering from the fall. Sherlock would not only be encouraging and patient with him, but made sure William had all his needs met. Following the time-skip, Sherlock has become significantly more mature and courteous.

{{Biography}}: Not much is known about Sherlock's upbringing. He was born as a descendant of Sherrinford Holmes and is the younger brother of Mycroft Holmes. He and his brother have a working class background on the maternal side and Sherlock is seemingly proud of that origin. At one point Sherlock attended one of the Oxbridge universities. Despite this advanced education, he never fixed his accent and continues to speak with a Cockney accent.

{{Origin}}: Sherlock Holmes is based off the main character (of the same name) from Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes novels. In those stories, Sherlock Holmes is also an eccentric consulting detective who solves cases together with his companion John H. Watson. In Conan Doyle's story "The Final Problem", Sherlock Holmes is faced with Professor Moriarty who is said to be Holmes' equal and biggest enemy.

{{Trivia}}:

• Sherlock came seventh in the first character popularity poll and sixth in the second poll. • His profile both states that he likes mystery and that his life's greatest mystery was William. • He dislikes women and has no interest in them. • He is currently "worried (or hoping?)" that William is planning something big again. • He and William are the same age (27 years old) and height (6'1"/185 cm). • Post-timeskip, Sherlock's design is reminiscent of Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes, especially his outfit on the Volume 19 cover and the Jump SQ cover for the September 2021 issue. Pre-timeskip, Sherlock's design was reminiscent of the BBC version of Sherlock played by Benedict Cumberbatch.

[MYCROFT HOLMES]

• Status: Alive • Age: 31 (pre-timeskip), 34 (Post-Timeskip) • Birth Date: January 5th, 1848 (Capricorn) • Birth Place: North Riding of Yorkshire • Nationality: British • Gender: Male • Hair color: Black • Eye Color: Blue • Height: 188 cm • Weight: 77 kg • Family: Sherlock Holmes (younger brother), Sherrinford Holmes (ancestor)

Mycroft Holmes (マイクロフト・ホームズ Maikurofuto Hōmuzu) is the Chief of the War Office's Intelligence Branch who entrusts the MI6 with assignments of national interest that can't be made public. He is also the older brother of Sherlock Holmes.

{{Appearance}}: Mycroft is a tall, adult man, and generally bears a strong physical resemblance to his younger brother, Sherlock. They both have the same dark blue hair and eyes. Despite this, there are differences. Mycroft has much shorter hair and has a more stoic expression. This is in contrast to Sherlock's much longer hair and more expressive nature. Despite his more imperturbable nature, he is shown to be able to smile a little at times. He is also taller than Sherlock, with a height of 6'2" (188 cm).

{{Biography}}: Little is known about Mycroft's upbringing and background. He is the older brother of Sherlock Holmes, whom he has always had a competitive and clashing relationship with, though Mycroft cares deeply for Sherlock nonetheless. His and Sherlock's mother is implied to have been part of the working class. Mycroft also had a Cockney accent that he eventually fixed.

{{Origin}}: Mycroft is based on the character of the same name from the original Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, in which the character is also the older brother of Sherlock and works for the government. In the Conan Doyle novels, Mycroft's knowledge and abilities exceed Sherlock's.

Despite Mycroft being the bird's owner, it actually seems to prefer Albert over him. • He likes black coffee and dislikes idiots. • His current worry is that he has to spend 30 minutes styling his unruly hair every morning and yet it still gets too wavy in the evening.

Miss Hudson appears to be mature and empathetic, also able to read when others may be upset. She correctly identifies Sherlock's bad mood around Mary as jealousy, telling him to have manners. When talking with Mary, Miss Hudson also realizes the sincerity in her words. She appears to be sensitive about her age, reacting harshly when Sherlock deduces her to be around 30 years old and even scaring Gregson into a tearful apology after he had made a remark about her age. She chooses to describe herself as "forever seventeen". In addition, Miss Hudson is easily distracted and flattered when complimented on her looks.

{{Origin}}: Miss Hudson is based off the character of the same name from Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories. In the Sherlock Holmes novels, she is also Holmes' and Watson's landlady. [JAMES BONDE]

• Aliases: Irene Adler (former), "The Woman" (former), Wilhelm Gottstreich Sigismund von Ormstein (disguise) • Age: 21 (pre-timeskip), 24 (post-timeskip) • Birth Date: September 3rd, 1858 (Virgo) • Birth Place: New Jersey, America • Death Place: London, England (fake death) • Nationality: American • Hair color: Blonde • Eye Color: Light Blue • Height: 170 cm, 178 cm (with shoes) • Weight: 57 kg (pre-timeskip), 56 kg (post-timeskip)

James Bonde (ジェームズ・ボンド Jēmuzu Bondo), previously known as Irene Adler (アイリーン・アドラー Airiin Adorā), is an ally of William James Moriarty's. After faking the death of "Irene Adler", he takes on the name of "James Bonde" and joins MI6 as their seventh agent.

Note: The Japanese language does not rely heavily on gendered pronouns (he/she/they). James' official character profile in volume 17 uses they/them pronouns. The wiki primarily uses he/him and they/them.

Remain respectful while discussing this character.

{{Appearance}}: While living as Irene, James had long blond hair, wore make-up and was known for extravagant dresses befitting a former prima donna. When becoming James Bonde, he cut his hair short and began wearing a grey suit with a pink tie. He has light blue eyes and also a distinctive mole under his right eye; this mole is concealed with makeup when in disguise. As James, he is often depicted wearing 8cm shoes to appear taller. Making him the average height of 5'10" (178 cm); without the added height from the shoes he is 5'7"(170 cm).

{{Personality}}: During James' time as a prima donna, he was disappointed to learn that no matter how talented you are, social standing and contacts with nobles are far more important than hard work. Bonde used his looks and being a mistress as a way to manipulate and blackmail nobles in order to support young talents who were denied and excluded due to social standing. Since then, he was able to help many people, such as musicians who didn't have access to education. He wanted to change the world and reward talented people who wouldn't be able to prosper otherwise. James is smart and a talented actor as he managed to fool even Sherlock Holmes. When he got in bigger trouble, he made a plan involving Sherlock that would give him temporary safety and leave the government no choice but to negotiate instead of assassinating him. Upon faking the death of "Irene Adler", he gets the chance to live a new life as a man. He is given the name James by William and Albert and chose the surname Bonde for himself, to represent his new beginning and new "bonds" with the Moriarty group. He immediately takes on this new identity and asserts his wish to be seen as a man to others. Because James felt indebted to William and Albert, he was concerned about making himself useful quickly and tried to be a perfect subordinate. It's on a mission with his allies that he realizes he should have trust in his abilities and act in missions how he pleases, stating he's never been one to be held back by conventional ways. James has a tendency to be flirty, regardless of gender, and even took the initiative to invite Miss Moneypenny on a date.

{{Biography}}: James Bonde was born in New Jersey, United States of America, as "Irene Adler". They became a famous opera performer and the prima donna of the Warsaw Opera House. After their successor was driven into suicide due to her efforts being buried and receiving no recognition due to her lack of status, Irene obtained the wish to fix the system and manipulate those in power. Irene began to use their womanly charm and affection to seduce and blackmail dukes, nobles, etc. in order to help talented musicians from poor backgrounds. At one point, Irene retired from their opera career and settled down in London.

{{Origin}}: James Bonde is a combination of James Bond from Ian Fleming's James Bond franchise, and Irene Adler from the Sherlock Holmes novels.

{{Trivia}}:

• The character "James Bond" also works for the MI6 as agent "007", Bonde also being the 7th agent in MI6. • James's surname has been romanized as "Bond" in the Japanese release of chapter 58 of the manga. However, the "Bonde" spelling is used across the anime, stage play, and musical, and also in the volume 17 extras of the manga. Bonde came thirteenth in the first character popularity poll and seventh in the second poll. • He likes freedom and perfume. • He dislikes oppression. • Bonde's current worry is that he still sometimes gets bashful when Sherlock or John still treat him as a lady on occasion. • Apparently Zack Paterson recently came to him for assistance with dry skin. Based on Zack's comments, Bonde has an extensive collection of skincare products. • In an interview Hikaru Miyoshi explains her own interpretation of the original Irene Adler in Arthur Conan Doyler's story was that she chose to live as a man by the end, which Miyoshi incorporated while writing MORIARTY THE PATRIOT's "A Scandal in British Empire." • He wears a blue tiepin and cufflinks because Sherlock told him 'you look good in blue'.

[SEBASTIAN MORAN]

• Aliases: Agent 006, Alec Trevelyan (disguise) • Status: Alive • Age: 35 (pre-timeskip), 38 (post-timeskip) • Birth Date: November 21st, 1844 (Scorpio) • Birth Place: City of London • Nationality: British • Gender: Male • Hair color: Black • Eye Color: Black • Height: 198 cm • Weight: 94 kg (pre-timeskip), 93 kg (post-timeskip)

Colonel Sebastian Moran (セバスチャン・モラン, Sebasuchan Moran) is the right-hand man of William James Moriarty. He is a veteran of the Afghan War and is believed to have been killed in action by the public.

He has narrow, darkly colored eyes, and black hair that's styled in a distinguishable fringe that just about covers part of his left eye. He has has a muscular physique and multiple scars on his body. His right hand was torn off by an explosion during the Afghan War, so he uses a prosthetic one made by Von Herder. His clothing consists of a long, dark coat with a grey shirt, shoulder holsters and a white glove on his right hand, used to cover up the prosthetic. While pre-timeskip the indies of his coat were white,

{{Personality}}: Sebastian is an especially skilled sniper. After deciding to become one of William's associates, he ends up being one of the most devoted towards him, determined to complete any task he is given. Despite his downbeat appearance, he's quite the credulous character, and believes strongly in William's dream to achieve equal rights in the nation. Despite his confident demeanour and skills, Moran seems quite easily intimidated when it comes to his friends and allies. He was flustered by Bonde's threats when they were arguing in the changing rooms, is scared of Louis when it comes to household chores and Albert frequently teases Moran as well. Moran often takes on the big brother role and views the Moriarty group as his family. During the mission at the Baskerville estate, he was the one to put a stop to Louis' and Fred's fighting. Despite that, Moran is deeply scarred from the loss of his fellow soldiers and the events of the war, which leaves him unable to move on from William's "death" and causes him to go rogue. When they reunite, Moran becomes upset that William didn't inform him of his survival and accuses him of abandoning him, even tearing up, but it is short-lived and he's quickly comforted by William.

{{Origin}}: Sebastian Moran is based off the character (of the same name) in Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories. In those novels, he is also a sniper and the right-hand man of Professor Moriarty.

{{Trivia}}:

• Moran came fourth in both the first and second character popularity polls. • Based on his commentary during their operation in Calcutta, Moneypenny suspects that Moran is from a noble family. • His likes include whiskey and card games, while his dislike is power. • Moran's current worry is that he can't enjoy his usual hobbies because, now that he's living with the Moriarty group again, Moneypenny enforces a nightly curfew. • He is a sniper, well versed in weaponry and can see from long distances. Though even with his skill he has demolished weapons from Herder in the past.

[FRED PORLOCK]

• Status: Alive • Age: 19 (pre-timeskip), 22 (post-timeskip) • Birth Date: April 2nd, 1860 (Aries) • Birth Place: ? • Nationality: British • Gender: Male • Hair color: Black • Eye Color: Grey • Height: 168 cm • Weight: 55 kg (pre-timeskip) 57 kg (post-timeskip)

Fred Porlock[3] (フレッド・ポーロック, Fureddo Pōrokku) is an agent of the MI6 and one of William James Moriarty's closest allies. He is the informant of the group and skilled in taking on disguises.

{{Appearance}}: Fred is a young man who is notably smaller than his allies, standing at 168 cm. He has messy black hair, pale skin and grey eyes. His build is slim and he has bandages wrapped around both his forearms, ending just before his wrists. He is usually seen wearing a long-sleeved white dress shirt with rectangle cufflinks tucked into blue pants, which are held up by Y-back suspenders. He wears a black coat over his shirt and has a light blue scarf around his neck that can double as a hood. He has a pen and notebook tucked into the breast pocket of his shirt, which he uses to write down information when looking for crimes related to nobles.

{{Personality}}: Fred is rather quiet and 'unsociable' as Moran calls him when he first appears. He rarely talks unless prompted, except when reporting or adding a comment to an ongoing conversation or event. His thin physique and reserved presence makes him excellent at disguising himself and playing characters, dressing up as Frida in The Dancers On The Bridge, the murdered man in The Noahtic and an old lady in A Study In 'S'. He's mainly the one spying and reporting to the Moriarty group, collecting information and keeping watch on the activities of other parties. Despite seeming withdrawn, he is a gentle and kind person at heart, shown when he expressed a strong desire to save the kidnapped children that were being killed on on the Baskerville's property. Moran says that among the group, Fred is the one most similar to William, in that both are unable to leave someone in need alone. Although he is a reticent person, he is one of the only people who speaks up to William about him having to die for the Moriarty plan. Fred is convinced that what William does is justice and that there is no reason for him to lose his life, becoming determined to save him and betraying the group by writing a letter to Sherlock Holmes to ask for his help. Even when Louis confronts him about it, Fred remains firm in his belief.

{{Origin}}: He is based off the character of the same name from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories. He appears in "The Valley of Fear" and is a criminal working for Professor Moriarty. He occasionally sells information to Sherlock Holmes.

{{Trivia}}:

• He views Moran as an older brother. • Fred is very adept at combat, being able to use one-handed weapons as well as fight in bare-handed combat against even people like Sherlock who are trained in martial arts. He is agile and very quick, able to jump considerable heights and flee scenes swiftly. • Fred came fifth in both the first and second character popularity polls. • He's the only member of Moriarty's group whose birth place and age are all listed as or with a "?". • Fred's likes are edelweiss (a mountain flower found in alpine Europe) & cats, while his dislike is injustice. • His current worry is whether he'd be allowed to keep the 30 stray cats he cares for in the MI6 building the Moriarty group stay in.

[VON HERDER]

• Aliases: Q • Status: Alive • Age: 30 (Pre-Timeskip), 33 (Post-Timeskip) • Birth Date: June 30th, 1849 (Cancer) • Birth Place: Munich • Nationality: German • Gender: Male • Hair color: Blonde • Eye Color: Unknown (Blind) • Height: 193 cm • Weight: 79 kg • Family: Director Herder, unnamed mother

Von Herder (フォン・ヘルダー Fon Herudā) is an inventor for MI6 specializing in firearms also known as "Q".

{{Appearance}}: Von Herder is a tall 6'4"(193 cm), adult man from Germany with light blonde hair, who is always blindfolded. Compared to the other characters, he is shown to be particularly pale. He is typically seen wearing a blue three-piece suit, with a navy waistcoat and maroon tie, accompanied by his signature black blindfold. He appears to have a gold chain linked to his waistcoat, and carries around a partially mechanized silver and black cane.

{{Personality}}: Von Herder comes off as a knowledgeable man, and speaks fluently about weapons. He seems to have a keen interest in solving issues and puzzles. All of these factors make it clear that Von Herder is a genius engineer. Described as a "gun freak" by Moran, it is evident that Herder is extremely passionate about the weapons he makes. He checks up on them even in the midst of battle, and expresses frustration if prototypes are broken. Herder also has a humorous side, joking about his own blindness by commenting that the darkness of his laboratory doesn't annoy him. However, it is implied in a bonus comic at the end of Chapter 12 that he may, in fact, be able to see in some capacity. In the comic, Moran removes Herder's blindfold, revealing a flower-patterned on underneath. Herder is quoted to say "Ooh... I can see through a simple pattern like this!". Due to his passion and extensive knowledge, he has somewhat of a tendency to ramble about the specific details of his newest creations, regardless of whether his audience is capable of understanding what he's talking about. He gets mildly annoyed, however, when the audience in question fails to keep up with the conversation.

{{Abilities}}: Herder is extremely knowledgeable about weapons, being a leading expert in regards to both their manufacturing and those who make them (i.e. which makers or factories specialize in certain materials or builds). In addition to his expertise, he himself is a skilled gunsmith and engineer, handling custom rifle orders for Moran and MI6. As part of his weapon-making, Herder likes to question his customers on how they're handling previous guns he's crafted for them, such as whether any adjustments are required. If possible, he likes to accompany them directly into the field to observe the weapons in action, as seen during the Jack the Ripper incident. However, he seems to be capable of discerning certain details about the weapons and their efficacy in combat just from examining the gun itself. As seen when he urgently reminded Moran not to damage the new silent rifle he made for him so that Herder could collect "data" after the mission was complete.

{{Origin}}: Von Herder is based off of Van Herder, who was referenced as the "blind German mechanic" who built Moran's air-rifle in "The Adventure of the Empty House" as well as Q from the James Bond films and film-novelizations.

{{Trivia}}:

• Herder came twelfth in the first character popularity poll and eighth in the second poll. • His only listed like is inventing, while his only dislike is stagnating. • Herder's current worry is that although he's mass-producing some of the most innovative inventions of the century, they're too advanced to be of much use for most people. • Herder himself also features in the current worry of Miss Moneypenny; she's kept awake at night by the weird noises coming from his bedroom (the room above hers) at night. He also features on her dislike list, apparently she's not a fan of his lectures.

[JACK RENFIELD]

Despite this, he's dedicated to William and the group's cause, following orders and being serious when the situation calls for it. Jack is also shown to be somewhat flirtatious and shameless in nature. He was immediately interested when he learned William had Irene Adler join the group and even after learning that Bond identifies as a man, confidently asked to help him study in the bedroom.

{{Origin}}: Jack served in the British Army during the first Afghan War, where he earned was given the moniker "Jack" (here: pocketknife). During his time in the army, he was also a combat instructor. He later earned the title of "Jack the Ripper" based on his incredible skill in melee combat. After the fire at the Moriarty household, William, Albert, and Louis James Moriarty were taken in by Lord Rockwell, where Jack was working as a butler after the war. The three brothers knew of his past, so they requested his teaching in the art of killing.

{{Trivia}}:

• Jack came fourteenth in the first character popularity poll and twelfth in the second poll. • He likes pancakes and cleanliness. • He dislikes insects. • Jack's current worry is that, despite not being a butler anymore, he keeps subconsciously cleaning up after others or doing laundry. • He is the only other person to have the same height as Sebastian Moran (198 cm).

[HENRY ANTRIM]

• Aliases: William H. Bonney, Billy the Kid • Status: Alive • Age: 22 (Pre-Timeskip), 25 (Post-Timeskip) • Birth Date: November 23rd, 1857 (Sagittarius) • Birth Place: Fort Sumner, State of New Mexico • Nationality: American • Gender: Male • Hair color: Beige • Eye Color: Turquoise • Height: 170 cm • Weight: 59 kg

{{Personality}}: Billy is a cheerful man who is often seen smiling and wandering about happily. He is usually friendly and positive, eager to help people in need and affable with strangers. Billy often teases his friends and makes cheeky jokes, even giving nicknames to those he barely knows. Despite his carefree demeanor, he can be serious and focused when the situation calls for it. He is also deeply caring of his friends, adamant in protecting them even at the cost of his own life. This is partially because he doesn't want others to experience the loss of a close companion. He struggles with regrets and close bonds due to his complicated history with P. J. Garrett, an old friend of his back in Fort Summer. In the end however, he is able to forgive himself and move forward.

{{Origin}}: Henry is based on a well-known American outlaw from the 1800's known as "Billy the Kid", one of Henry's pseudonyms. The real-life Billy went under several pseudonyms himself, including "Henry Antrim" and "William H. Bonney".

{{Trivia}}:

• On his profile his only listed like is fruit, while his only dislike is strawberry flavored water. • Henry's current worry is that he won't be able to fully understand the complex relationships between William and the members of his group. • He is featured on the Chapter 1 cover, as well as the Volume 2 color insert, long before his actual debut.

{{Personality}}: Lestrade is an honest and hardworking detective of Scotland Yard, relying on Sherlock Holmes to help solve cases that the Yard cannot. He values justice above all else, as seen by his determination to expose Arterton for his crimes, despite Arterton being chief inspector of Scotland Yard's CID at the time. He is uncomfortable with lying, though he will do so if it's necessary for the situation. Lestrade also displays a creative side with talent in arts and crafts. Having worked with Sherlock Holmes, Lestrade is reluctant in arresting him when a crime scene suggested Sherlock was the murderer. He believes Sherlock is innocent and even releases him so that he can prove his innocence.

{{Trivia}}:

• Lestrade came tenth in the first character popularity poll and fifteenth in the second poll. • Lestrade likes justice and dislikes crimes. • Lestrade current worry is that the Yard keeps handing him all the difficult cases, because there was a time when he'd told everyone that Sherlock's deductions were in fact his own. • In the musical, he claims he has never received a love proposal/confession in his life.

[ZACK PATTERSON]

• Status: Alive • Age: 40 (pre-timeskip), 43 (post-timeskip) • Birth Date: August 10th, 1839 (Leo) • Birth Place: Birmingham • Nationality: British • Gender: Male • Hair color: Black • Eye Color: Dark Green • Height: 188cm • Weight: 70 kg • Occupation: Chief Inspector • Affiliation: Scotland Yard, MI6, William James Moriarty

{{Appearance}}: Patterson is a tall adult man with short, black hair and dark green eyes, accompanied by thin framed glasses with rectangular lenses. He's usually seen wearing a dark blue three-piece suit with a purple tie.

Post-Timeskip: Patterson still retains his usual suit of clothing, but his rectangular glasses have been replaced with rimless ones.

{{Personality}}: Patterson appears to be a relatively quiet individual, choosing to observe events and assist from behind the scenes rather than insert himself directly; a trait that makes him well-suited to his role as an informant for William James Moriarty. He has also shown himself to be proficient at lying and remaining low-key, managing to raise no suspicion from Lestrade during his and Bonde's operation to recover evidence against Arterton. Patterson can be rather rude at times, as noted by his interactions with Jack and Herder. Still, he gets along with them, as well as Moran, as part of the older members of the group. He seems to dislike loud people and messy environments.

{{Biography}}: Due to his position at Scotland Yard, Paterson is essential to William James Moriarty as he relays critical information about ongoing investigations. Moriarty comments that Paterson has become even more valuable to their cause after his promotion from regular investigator to head of the CID, as having someone in the chain of command in Scotland Yard is extremely advantageous in terms of information access. Behind the scenes, he also doubles as an informant for MI6, closely monitoring William and reporting on his activities to Albert. After William's disappearance and Albert's subsequent stepping down from MI6, Paterson is shown as one of the individuals from Moriarty's faction who continues to work diligently for MI6.

{{Origin}}: Zack Paterson is based off of Inspector Patterson from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories. He mentioned in "The Adventure of the Final Problem".

{{Trivia}}:

• Paterson came fifteenth in the first character popularity poll and thirteenth in the second poll. • He likes little cigars. • He dislikes sweets. • Zack's current worry is that, after asking Bonde for help with dry skin, there's no way he'll be able to finish all of the skincare products he was given.
