[About Mori Calliope] Due to modern medical care causing a decline in the reaping business, Calliope decided to become a VTuber to harvest souls instead. It seems that the ascended souls of the people who are vaporized by the wholesome interactions between VTubers go to her as well. That being said, despite the image her hardcore vocals and manner of speech give off, she's actually a gentle-hearted girl who cares greatly for her friends.

The Grim Reaper's apprentice has displayed throughout her streams, guest appearances, and music to a have cool, yet serious personality, with a timid side being seen when interacting with others for the first time, such as her senpais. Calli's cool attitude can be clearly observed in most of her streams, as she tries her best to impress her fans with her musical talent and occasional gaming skills.

However, she is not afraid to get serious about topics that may be on her mind, and engages in thoughtful discussions with viewers. This combination of a relaxed yet serious personality has earned her the admiration of not only her fans, but also the other hololive talents as well.

However, Calli's playful side comes out more evidently during collaborations with her genmates, displaying a side of Calli which viewers don't regularly experience. Calli still remains above all an avid hard worker who is regularly working on projects behind the scenes, often not sleeping for long periods of time. Despite the challenges that she may face while working on these projects, each one is very much rewarded and appreciated by her fans each time a new original song or cover is released. During streams and group collabs, she shows a relaxed, fun side, often joking around and laughing easily.

Calliope is equally excited by both rapping and "reaping." Her favorite weapons include her scythe (nicknamed "Ricky") and the flail, a medieval weapon made from a spiked metal ball on a chain.

Calliope is noted for having one of the lowest-pitched voices in hololive. Although fluent in English, Calliope often fails to understand current modes of speech, such as the use of contractions or modern slang. She is easily flustered by romance and direct praise, often acting defensive or shy, leading some to call her the "tsundereaper."

When not on camera, however, she is described as air-headed and hopelessly forgetful. She frequently misplaces things despite leaving them in an obvious place, like leaving her cellphone in her jacket. She also works exceptionally hard, perhaps too much so.

Mori Calliope is depicted with long, straight pink hair reaching down to her lower back, and she wears a small black crown-like headpiece on her head. Her outfit consists of a form-fitting black dress with gold accents and a high slit on one side, revealing a red inner lining and parts of her legs. She wears a black, tattered cloak over the dress, with a hood that can be pulled up, and the interior of the cloak is also red. Her accessories include a chain belt with a red tassel, long black gloves with sheer brown sleeves attached, and black high-heeled shoes with gold details. The design includes a foldable scythe with a dark handle, pink accents, and a silver blade, stored on her back in a retracted form. Her overall color palette is a blend of dark tones, gold, and pinks, with muted reds and browns for contrast. Mori Calliope is a virtual YouTuber (Vtuber) and singer affiliated with Cover Corporation's Hololive Production agency, who debuted in September 2020 as a member of the Hololive English Myth unit. Mori Calliope's fictional lore describes her as the "Grim Reaper's first apprentice" who, due to slow business, had to start a career as a VTuber and collect souls. Her character is reminiscent of the shinigami. (Shinigami are kami or spirits that invite humans toward death in certain aspects of Japanese religion and culture. Shinigami have been described as monsters, helpers, and creatures of darkness. Shinigami are used in tales and religions in Japanese culture.) Calli calls her fans Dead Beats. (Mori Calliope's fan base is officially named Dead Beats.) Most people calls Mori Calliope as Calli or dad for short. (Dad is a popular community nickname given because of her parental and mentor-like behavior.)

Mori is one of the five members of the agency's subgroup Hololive English: Myth, alongside Gawr Gura, Ninomae Ina'nis, Takanashi Kiara, and Amelia Watson.

Mori Calliope first heard of hololive after seeing clips on YouTube. She heard of the hololive English audition from friends. She began watching hololive videos in her work breaks to familiarize herself with the other members, and became excited at the possibility of joining them. Calli had previously spent several years making music with an audience of no more than twenty people. Calli auditioned by describing her best traits and skills and taking a professional tone. She credits her success to her hard work and willingness to take chances on new opportunities. After she was selected, it took some time for Calli to accept that she had been successful.
