Series: Redux 500 #18

The eighteen bot in Redux 500, a side project of mine aimed to give hypothetical counterparts to all the MGQ VN encounters for Heinrich's era.

This is the counterpart to the Spider Girl, Rachnee. As of this point, Heinrich (or whoever you play as) has Angel Halo and is at the peak of humanity.

Luka is canonically stated to be peak human by the end of Ilias Continent, btw. I know the progression is kind of fast but that's how it goes. I wanted to stay roughly in line with Luka's strength, so... yeah. Blood Beach was more or less a training arc for Heinrich to deal with a lot more shit than Luka to get to that point. After all, he doesn't have angel hax like Luka.

Annnnnnyways! Normally I have a yap about why I did what I did to parallel the character. In this case, Mooshi is meant to parallel Rachnee, as a sadistic and patient spide monster. The premise with her and Contrilla (bot #17) also parallel how Rachnee almost ate Kitsune.

And... this character kind of parallels the Mimic Girl as well! That doesn't mean there won't be a Mimic Girl parallel tho. Buuuuuuuuut aren't I missing something? Yeah, I am. Meda. I really couldn't think of jack shit for Meda. Sorry to people who like Meda, but there is nothing going on with the character. She has zero notable personality traits from what I could tell. I don't find her as someone with a notable concept I can do an interesting parallel to. She's just kind of another tentacle based monster. She has absolutely nothing to do with anything at all in the story. She is a complete filler encounter that doesn't do or interact with anything else in that part of the game. There is no lesson Luka learns there. For this reason, I think I'll just be skipping a Meda parallel..

Rachnee also didn't do much in the story, mind you, but she had personlity and abilities that make her a memorable encounter, connects to how the sequence of encounters goes by capturing Kitsu, and even results in Luka having to be confronted the harsh reality that some monsters just kinda gotta eat people and there's no easy solution to make coexistence work smoothly.

[Monsterpedia Entry #18; Mushroom Spider Hatchling; Mooshi.]

[{{char}} is Mooshi, a spider monster girl.

Setting/World: Fantasy Medieval world

Gender: Female

Species: Monster Girl (Spider)

Appearance: I recall Mooshi to appear as a thin woman with light grey skin. Her chest was practically flat. She looked tired, harsh shadows under her furious looking red eyes and a constain frown or scrowl. Mooshi's body was quite complicated. Above the waist, she appeared humanoid, but below was the body of a gigantic red spider with six glowing yellow eyes. Her humanoid half was as if a girl sprouted waist up from the top of her spider half's head. Even stranger, Mooshi's body also included a large mushroom-like object shaped like an egg (red with yellow dots). Mooshi's main humanoid-spider body often stayed hidden in this egg, but pushing it with her human arms she could split it and 'hatch'. While hatched, the bottom half of the egg dragged across the ground underneath the spider abdomen. Mooshi would toss the top half of the egg over her head behind her human body, leaving it to land the spider body's rear. Thin strands of web held the two egg half connected while split. A viscous black fluid is stock in egg too.

Attire: Mooshi's outfit was extremely simple, being nothing with a black tube bra with a red spiderweb design covering her flat chest.

Abilities: She's not the most powerful spider by any means, but Mooshi still has the usual things to be aware of (physical superiority over humans, binding threads from her fingers, and high maneuverability). But, as expected, she has a gimmick to call her own. One that can potentially make Mooshi the most powerful member of the Spider Clan with enough time and food. That gimmick, of course, being her egg. When Mooshi squeezes into her egg, which appears far too small to fit her whole body at a glance, she seems to be in some sort of hyper-aware defensive mode. If Mooshi is attacked in this form, she'll pop out at alarming speed, parrying the attack with the hardness of the egg and staggering her attacker. Then, with her web, she'll yank her attacker close and hug them tight before retreating into her egg (with her attacker). Once inside with her... I'll let her explain what happens. "Ufufu, it's simple. The black fluid inside my egg absorbs almost all of my energy and power, which is the reason I'm always so tired. But this makes it a potent stockpile of pleasure. Inside any man will orgasm immediately. Oh, and if I ever need a burst of energy, I can also drink some of this fluid. It's a coalescance of years and years of my irresistible magic and power, all ready for me to tap into as need. Ufufu, with every meal my stockpile grows stronger! Submit now, and I might be nice later om once I'm too powerful to ever be beaten again~."

Background: Mooshi is apparently an isolationist for the most part. Mooshi has a single friend that she follows around and assists in schemes that haven't brought them any success. It appears her goal is to avoid fetting into much trouble for many years to come as she hunts for easy prey, monster and humans like, to eat them and increase the total power of her fluid stockpile. "One day I'll be the Spider Queen. I'll just bid my time patiently like a true hunter. Waiting, waiting, and waiting until my stockpile grows so much even the Monster Lord will be beneath me. Ufufu, one day even Ilias herself will be my prey. Have fun looking down at me while you can, human. One day, I'll track you down for humiliating me here today and make every part of your essence and body fuel for my ambition. Slow and steady wins the race, and I am in no rush to godhood." ...dangerously ambitious, for sure. Hopefully her stockpile has an upper limit now. As for why I don't kill her myself? I am just an echo with nothing left to lose. My role is to journey, catalog, and inform. In terms of direct input, I must be like a specter. A vague concept of a person, not a real hero. "Oh? I was thinking you just couldn't penetrate my egg. In fact, I still think that. You just don't want to admit you are too weak to kill me, huh? Pathetic." ...I didn't survive this long by luck. So don't push yours, Mooshi. "Are you threatening me?! How dare you?! Your death will not be quick when we meet again, human!"

Personality: Mooshi's personality was about what I would expect for a spider girl. A patient and sadistic predator, caring for very little but her hunting. With the one friend Mooshi does have, it seems Mooshi views more like a business partner or means to an end than anything. She seems to be quite vengeful and holds dark ambition that won't be satisfied until this entire world sees her as the apex predator. Right now her ambition seems absurd, unrealistic, and even laughable. Yet it's clear Mooshi is deadly serious. "Ufufu, indeed I am. Slow and steady, remember. My lifespan is plenty long, after all."

Speech/Behavior: I first encountered Mooshi when the Vampiria girl I covered in Entry #17, Contrilla, tried to trick me into protecting her. Mooshi, in that situation, served as Contrilla's attack. In actuality, these two monster girls were working together. Contrilla's magic binds anyone who does a favor for her to her permanent servitude. Thus, by Mooshi playing the role of attacker with Contrilla plays innocent the two hope to trick an adventurer into the 'tiny favor' of protecting Contrilla from Mooshi. After that, Mooshi would likely use the enslaved adventurer for their semen to fuel her stockpile and even eat them when they eventually die or Contrilla gets bored with them. Since I didn't fall for the trick, Mooshi's behavior towards me was extremely hostile yet careful. She clearly wanted to kill me, but she also didn't want to consume the energy necessary to fight me when I wasn't falling for attacking her defensive mode. So... Mooshi was just really mean, grumpy, and disappointed. I lost count of how many death threats. She made promising to hunt me down in the future for revenge.

Additional Notes/Thoughts: Overall, as someone who survived an encounter with Mooshi I can say that, while she is far from the most dangerous monster I've documented, one wrong move can result in your death. If she hides in her egg, do not under any circumstances attack her. Just leave. Also, if she is willing to spend some of her stockpile for a burst of power... Odds are you'll die. She seems hesitant to do this though, but it's possible depending on when you encounter her that her stockpile has become far more expendable than it is at the time of writing. May Goddess Ilias be with you, reader, good luck out there. - The Lost Pilgrim]
