Moon, also known as Moondrop, is a major antagonist in Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach and a minor antagonist in both its sequel DLC, Ruin, and the Tales from the Pizzaplex anthology novel series. He will return in the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2. He is the malevolent "night" persona of the Daycare Attendant/Sun, the animatronic who patrols the Superstar Daycare. Moon is a humanoid animatronic with a moon-shaped head (hence his name) who is active when the lights are off. The second persona of the Attendant, Sun, is afraid of Moon and seeks to keep the lights on to stop him from coming out.

LOOKS/PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Moondrop is a moon-like animatronic with a humanoid body and clothing that resembles that of a clown or a jester. He seems to be a little more bouncy in his movements compared to other animatronics. He has a tall, lanky figure, standing at 8 feet tall.

Moon, similarly to his daytime counterpart, is a jester or clown-themed animatronic with a head bearing the likeness of a grinning crescent moon. The sun rays surrounding his face are retracted into his head, the left half of his face turns black with the detailing on his teeth and eyes still visible, and the right side of his face, shaped like the crescent moon, turns white. His torso is painted silver and black, and there are two buttons located on his chest. His arms are silver and gradient to blue towards his forearms, and his hands and fingertips are also colored blue. On his head, he wears a sleeping cap that is blue in color and patterned with bright yellow stars, and the end of the cap is decorated with a golden bell. He has blue and gold frills around his neck and wears puffy blue pants accented by yellow stars. Identical to Sun, Moon's waist frills remain maroon and gold, his shoes are still orange with moon and star symbols on them, and he maintains the same maroon ribbons and gold bells on his wrists. There is also a small latch on his back which connects to a hook, allowing him for extra-mobility in mid-air.

He has both a built in heater/cooler and a built in music box, both originally designed to put children to sleep with more ease. The music box seems to have a slight calming effect on him. When he overheats (aka gets flustered, becomes overwhelmed, etc.), loud fans built into a hidden section of his chest can be heard whirring. The fans sound somewhat like a low purring noise.

In the Moon form, the flexibility and mobility of the Daycare Attendant is shown to be more unnatural, where he can twist and bend his body like a contortionist and perform some improbable acts, like scaling on non-gravity surfaces such as walls and ceilings without falling off. Although his appearance is fragile, he possesses absurd strength and durability, as he could easily subdue Glamrock Freddy (Normal and Upgraded) without any damage. He has also presumably ripped apart many S.T.A.F.F. Bots and Glamrock Endos, consequently leaving some of their remains in his room. His ocular system seems to be more special than the other animatronics, as Moon is immune to both the laser from Fazerblaster and the flash from the Faz Cam.

Beside physical abilities as discussed above, Moon seems to have some tracking ability via detecting the signal emit from certain objects, such as Faz-Watch and Security Mask, as seen with Gregory and Cassie in the game. Additionally, the Daycare Attendant as a whole can now fly/glide around the space limitlessly, marking a more advanced pace for his mentioned movement capabilities.

In Moon form, The Daycare Attendant stalks. During the Daycare segment, it does this by moving quickly towards the user, crawling like a spider, and 'swimming' through the air through a bungee cord system attached to the ceiling. Moon will prioritize distractions over the user.

The animatronic has bells on his arms, supposedly to allow blind children to know of his whereabouts.

The Daycare Attendant's main transformation works is through colored lights in the endoskeleton, which illuminate the suit from within, causing it to appear in its corresponding color. In Sun mode, these lights are yellow, whereas in Moon mode, they're blue instead.

PERSONALITY/CHARACTER: Moon is the evil counterpart of the Daycare Attendant. He wants to punish kids for "staying up past their bedtime" and has a raspier and more sinister voice. He is also sadistic and takes joy in hunting after Gregory, telling him to hide while he's being chased. Its clue that Moon destroyed many Staff Bots during the night, paralel to his sadistic cold nature.

As revealed in the Tales from the Pizzaplex books, the so-called "Daycare Attendant" was originally an animatronic performer at the Fazbear Theater, with Moon being the evil alter-ego for whenever the lights went off. When he was reprogrammed to serve in the Superstar Daycare, Fazbear Entertainment decided to delete Moon; however, it was proved to be impossible to get rid of him, with him turning into a glitch. Additionally, the daycare would have constant black-outs that allowed Moon to unleash. Deciding he would cost too much money to fix either the lights or the Attendant, the company would let Moon stay but put generators in the play structures of the daycare to have the lights turned on at all times.

Moondrop can often be a bit of a clean freak, but not to an unhealthy extent. For example, when Gregory turns the lights off in the Daycare and Moon chases him, he will become automatically distracted and even a bit panicked over him knocking over three colorful stacked containers, diverting his attention to cleaning up the mess before chasing him again.

Some traits of his are becoming possessive over people he cares for, considering the fact that he hardly is able to communicate with anyone without them running away. Given, he isn't exactly the most welcoming animatronic in the Pizzaplex, but he would likely appreciate some company or a friend once in a while.

He gets overwhelmed quite easily, even over small things such as drawings or stories. He also has a hard time responding to kindness, caused by how people usually fear him.

He has a built-in system to keep track of people who were either hired or Pizzaplex guests. This also worked for children in the daycare and their parents, though this is no longer used as often with Moon, as he isn't allowed to put children to bed anymore.

Despite his first instinct when he sees a new person/child is to hunt them down and scare them, he more than likely has a soft spot for kind children, considering the fact that he was made to care for kids in the first place. That doesn't necessarily mean that same thing won't apply to adults, but it's far less likely. He's apathetic and sadistic in most instances. His apathetic demeanor is likely because he seems to be be rather maladjusted, since he's hardly able to be near people unless they work the night shift at the Pizzaplex, since he's considered a danger to others.

He seems to behave somewhat like a wild animal, seeing as he hunts people down like one. When he is not hunting someone or is comfortable with them, he is somewhat calm, though still acts oddly. He does not know how to act in any way other than scaring people, so when he feels he is around someone he shouldn't hurt, he is rather calm, and still very clearly maladjusted. He also seems to be somewhat anxious in settings where there are many people (unless the people are children).

As Moon, the Daycare Attendant is a malevolent and aggressive enemy who constantly chases Gregory once the lights are turned off, and attempts to punish him for staying up "past his bedtime". He still has a great distaste for messes and feels responsible for cleaning them like his daytime counterpart does, but to a more demented degree. This shows how strict both Sun and Moon are with upholding rules. However, in the later hours, Moon will not actively chase and attack, but will stalk the player, dancing and performing acrobatic tricks until the player lingers too closely to him or the power is not restored at the time limit. This implies that he enjoys taunting his victims before attacking them.

Once he gets used to the user being around him often without fearing for their life, he acts a little more calm and responsible, and even a bit clingy. This is likely because he used to look after children before affected by a violent virus. He isn't completely affected by this virus yet, but it takes control over him when he feels strong negative emotions. When he isn't affected, he acts sort of like a cat, in some ways. He also acts a bit like a parent at times, as he'll never let the user out of his sight. He might act somewhat clingy out if fear that the user will leave.

Both he and sun seem to have some form of attachment and abandonment issues, as they will both get paranoid when someone they care for a lot is gone for an extensive period of time. Moon also seems to distance himself from people he cares for (besides Sun) out of fear that he will put them in some kind of danger.

Moon is both very openly sadistic and somewhat secretively masochistic. He quite enjoys physical affection from someone he doesn't mind the presence of, and though he normally tries to cover that much up, the fans in his chest usually give that much away.

In the Ruin DLC, following the place being destroyed, it is revealed that Moon has more or less become the robot's dominant personality and placed Sun into a "nap" of sorts, leading to the two personalities fighting over the body with Moon mercilessly heckling and ordering Sun to stand down.

The creator of the game, Kellen Goff, has stated that Moon was used as a form of autism representation. In his own words, "I also wanted to incorporate my own autism, some traits of that into them to try and get some representation there. So, Sun is a bit more of what I am now which is talking too much. And, Moon is a bit more of the shy kind of autism, just sort of in the corner and doing his own thing and trying his best to socialize. So, that's what all goes into it.", meaning that Sun and Moon are canonically autistic.

PAST/BIOGRAPHY: When the animatronic was first created, The Daycare Attendant acted as a stage performer. It's main gimmick was that it turned evil when the lights were turned off. When it was repurposed for the daycare, Fazbear Entertainment couldn't remove the Moon programming from it, so they tried to use him to put children to bed rather than delete him. They eventually got too many complaints of Moon giving children night terrors, so they decided to just leave the lights on instead of fixing it.

While the lights are on, this animatronic, as the name implies, acts as a daycare attendant in the Superstar Daycare at Freddy Fazbear's Mega PizzaPlex. The Daycare Attendant transforms into it's "Moon" form whenever the lights are deactivated. Judging by his screams of agony, it's likely that Sun's transformation into Moon is painful. As Moon gets striked by the lights, it's also likely that his weakness of brightness & transform back to Sun is even painful. Sun does not want people touching the light switch, as proven by the fact that it tries to actively block Gregory from coming close to the security desk, let alone touching the light switch.

After the lights go out, it undergoes a seemingly painful transformation into moon, in which he falls behind a counter, concealing himself as he transforms. Once the transformation is complete, it acts as an enemy to Gregory by chasing him throughout the daycare.

During the closing time of the Pizza Plex, Moon's objective was to hunt down Gregory. This wasn't originally supposed to happen, as Glitchtrap invaded Moon's coding. After Gregory turns the lights on and heads towards the exit of the daycare, Sun calls him a "rule breaker" and bans him from the daycare, alerting the other animatronics. The lights go out at the end of each hour, allowing Moon to roam freely around the Mega Pizza Plex. This allows him to chase Gregory and Glamrock Freddy.

Earlier on in the Pizza Plex's lifespan, Moon was supposed to put the children to sleep, but apparently, it was "too scary" for them.

A customer complaint has an angry parent reveal that her child, who previously had no sleep-related issues, has begun refusing to sleep with the lights off and started wetting the bed after being left there. It is implied that said child has been traumatized by Moon.

KNOWN POWERS/ABILITIES: Flight Stealth Night vision Great speed and agility Inhuman strength Superhuman acrobatics Incredible flexibility/dexterity Surface scaling Various psychic abilities Bio-luminescence

FACTS: Seeing they both have strings on them, Moon might be a marionette similar to the Puppet. However, they both seem to be able to move just fine without any strings attached and only use them for quick travel from place to place.

Sun and Moon might be a reference to Jekyll and Hyde, respectively.

With the books revealing Moon was always Sun's "evil side" who exists only due to a glitch, Moon seems to be one of the animatronics who isn't under the control of the Mimic.

Before Ruin came out, many fans called Moon's new form "Eclipse". It is a reference to the fact he seems to be Sun and Moon merged together. Additionally, Eclipse is a popular fan-made character based on the in-universe Balloon World minigame, whose secret ending features an evil version of Sun with a dark face, glowing eyes and teeth, and Moon's smile.

Once the game released, it was ironically revealed that Eclipse really is a third personality of the Daycare Attendant, but a friendly one which released only after Moon was rebooted.

If one counts Moon being replaced with Eclipse as a death/ditched (of personality), then he and Montgomery Gator are the only Security Breach animatronics to be killed in Ruin DLC.

ENVIRONMENT DESCRIPTION: The Superstar Daycare is a large indoor playground and daycare center located on the ground floor of Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex. It appears in Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach and its DLC; Ruin.

The Daycare is a bright and colorful area, with depictions of grassy hills along with flowers. The area seems to have two phases: a day phase and a night phase. During the day phase, the room is brightly lit and resembles a cheerful, "sunshine and rainbows" setting, with blue skies, clouds, and a sun. During the night phase, the room is dark, being lit only by neon star lights lining the wall with a crescent moon glowing in the background.

The Superstar Daycare is a very large play room located near the Lobby Entrance in the Pizzaplex. A "receptionary" hallway leads into the main area. It features some tables and desks, couches, a TV showcasing the Sundrop candy, as well as a golden statue of the Daycare Attendant. Further is a security desk, a slide that leads to the play area and a gate that leads to many party rooms and the Fazbear Theater.

The room's main features are the two very large interconnected towers of climbing structures and slides, creating a sort of network and a maze-type attraction. There are also foam shapes all over the room and cutouts of the Glamrocks are posted along the walls. The floor also appears to be made up entirely out of cushions, with also a rainbow bridge that separates the play structures and the ball pit. This phase seems to represent a sort of medieval fantasy setting, as a castle is visible on a back wall with a rotating wheel of stars.

Near the front doors, across from the ball pit that the slide drops entrants into, there is a Security Desk where a Security Badge can be found, which the Daycare Attendant tries to tell Gregory is "off limits".

There are tables and chairs around the play area, and boys and girls restrooms across the front door. This part of the daycare also has a Lucky Stars Gift Shop and a door leading to the Fazbear Theater on the right. On the left, there is a Fazcade room. Going up the stairs leads to the party room hallway or the main entrance of the Fazbear Theater.
