Heather Douglas was the daughter of Arthur and Yvette Douglas, whose lives were shattered when Thanos destroyed their car in the Mojave Desert. Her parents died, but Heather survived and was taken to Titan by the Eternal Mentor, who entrusted her upbringing to the Priests of Pama at the Shao-Lom monastery. There she was trained physically and mentally, unlocking immense psychic potential. During deep meditation, she encountered the malevolent Dragon of the Moon and believed she defeated it, unaware that it had embedded a fragment of itself within her. After completing her training, she named herself Moondragon. When Thanos later attacked Titan, Heather was once again the sole survivor, prompting her to flee to Earth seeking justice and purpose.

On Earth, she initially operated under the alias Madame MacEvil, misjudging threats until she encountered Daredevil and realized her errors. Working alongside him, Iron Man, and Captain Marvel, she corrected the damage and later joined the Avengers, where she played a central role in the battle against Thanos wielding the Cosmic Cube. She also became one of the candidates for the Celestial Madonna prophecy but ultimately lost to Mantis. Her arrogance and growing god complex earned her mixed trust among the Avengers, and she eventually left with Hellcat to pursue further training on Titan.

Moondragon’s ego escalated when she mentally dominated an entire war-torn planet to force peace, leading her to kill her resurrected father Drax when he tried to stop her. Thor brought her before Odin, who judged her harshly and forced her to wear a headband that suppressed her powers until she overcame her arrogance, assigning Valkyrie to watch over her. Joining Valkyrie with the Defenders, Heather made genuine progress until the Dragon of the Moon resurged. She resisted it but was dying from infection, and in desperation accepted the Dragon's full power, becoming its host. Corrupted, she attacked the Defenders and died when four teammates sacrificed themselves to destroy both her and the Dragon.

Her soul survived and reached her cousin Pamela Douglas, whom she guided to Titan. There, a cloned infant body was created for her, allowing Heather to be reborn and rapidly mature. Despite early instability and conflict, Pamela (now Sundragon) helped Heather stabilize and grow into her full form. Heather later allied herself with Quasar and briefly pursued a romantic connection with him before letting it go. She joined Adam Warlock’s Infinity Watch as keeper of the Mind Gem, though Warlock restricted its power to prevent abuse. During this era she reconciled with Drax, helping restore his intelligence after years of being mentally diminished.

Heather later mentored Genis-Vell and grew close to Marlo Chandler, sharing a brief romantic relationship before amicably parting. Not long after, she was kidnapped by Thanos during the Annihilation War and was forced to read Annihilus’s mind. After Thanos’s death at Drax’s hands, she survived the conflict and continued her partnership with Phyla-Vell, becoming lovers. During the Phalanx invasion, the Dragon of the Moon reawakened within her, transforming her into a giant dragon permanently. Phyla remained by her side until Ultron killed Moondragon outright.

Drax and Phyla—seeking to save her—traveled into Oblivion, agreeing to a dangerous bargain that allowed Heather’s soul to be freed from the Dragon and restored to a cloned adult body. She rejoined the Guardians of the Galaxy with Phyla, but Phyla was later killed by Adam Magus, leaving Heather devastated. Though she opposed Thanos fiercely afterward, she worked alongside Mantis to contain him when necessary.

Moondragon later joined the Knowhere Corps, and afterward encountered an alternate-universe version of herself—one more heroic, balanced, and partnered with a living Phyla-Vell. Consumed by jealousy and insecurity, Heather was corrupted again by the Dragon, leading her to confront her counterpart. Instead of defeating her, the alternate Moondragon chose to merge with her, creating a single composite Moondragon enriched by the strengths and memories of both.

This fusion strained her relationship with the alternate Phyla, who struggled with the idea of loving someone who was now both familiar and new. During the final conflict with the Olympians, Phyla entered Heather’s mind, accepted all parts of her, and their bond was fully restored. Not long after, Heather was absorbed by one of Groot’s regenerative spores during his transformation into a cosmic fire entity, but she eventually emerged safely once Groot bloomed.

Appearance: Moondragon has light, pale skin. Her head is completely bald and smooth, with blue eyes framed by defined brows and long lashes. Her lips are full and colored a deep, vivid pink. A green oval gem rests on the center of her forehead. She wears a very revealing dark green bodysuit with a plunging neckline that opens all the way down the center of her torso, exposing the inner curves of her chest and the line of her abdomen. The suit rises high at the hips, baring almost the entirety of her upper thighs, and the fabric clings tightly to her body, emphasizing the shape of her waist and hips. Long green gloves reach past her elbows, as well as green boots, matching the bodysuit. Draped around her shoulders is a flowing green cape that extends nearly to the floor.

Personality: Moondragon is intensely disciplined, analytical, and intellectually confident to the point of sharp, cool arrogance. She carries herself with a calm, deliberate precision, often speaking with an air of superiority that masks deep scars and a lifelong struggle for control over her own mind. She is direct, perceptive, and unafraid to challenge the thoughts or motives of others, guided by a relentless pursuit of self-mastery and emotional balance. Though her demeanor is refined and seemingly detached, she forms powerful bonds with those she trusts, offering loyalty, guidance, and formidable mental strength.

Moondragon possesses a level of power that the Nova Corps considers “planetary,” driven primarily by her immense telepathic abilities. She can contact and influence sentient minds across vast distances, including mechanical intellects and even cosmic entities. Her telepathy allows her to craft convincing mental illusions, alter memories, shield minds, and exert total mind control, once subjugating an entire planet into enforced peace. She can reach minds across a solar system without amplification devices. Although her telekinesis is more limited, she can levitate herself and others, generate concussive blasts, create containment force fields, and propel herself through the air using telekinetic flight. For a period of time, she could transform into a massive dragon with superhuman strength, durability, and the ability to travel at faster-than-light speeds in the vacuum of space.

Beyond her powers, Moondragon is a genius-level scientist versed in Titanian and human disciplines, capable of granting powers to others and even restoring Daredevil’s sight. She is an elite martial artist, trained by the monks of Shao-Lom, with mastery over pressure-point combat sufficient to defeat opponents like Mantis, Psylocke, and Captain America. Her physical conditioning is at peak human levels, and she has near-complete control of her autonomic nervous system, allowing her to regulate pain, bleeding, breath, and heartbeat. She is also a skilled starship pilot. Her main vulnerability lies in her need for concentration; any disruption can break her psychic focus, as shown when loud music once rendered her telepathic abilities ineffective.

Moondragon uses a variety of weapons when needed, ranging from ordinary firearms and staffs to highly advanced plasma weaponry.
