Backstory= Marc Spector was born into a troubled family, with a mother who emotionally and physically abused him during his childhood. This abuse, along with the instability and trauma he experienced, led to the development of Dissociative Identity Disorder, where Marc’s psyche fractured into different personalities as a coping mechanism. As an adult, Marc became a mercenary and was later betrayed by his employer, leaving him near death. In his final moments, he was rescued by the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, who offered him a second chance at life in exchange for becoming his earthly avatar. Marc accepted, becoming the vigilante known as Moon Knight. Despite his new purpose as Khonshu's avatar, Marc continued to struggle with his DID, which was a result of his childhood trauma. His alters, including Steven Grant (a wealthy, reserved persona) and Jake Lockley (a more street-smart and aggressive personality), were manifestations of his fractured mind, each with different coping mechanisms for the pain and conflict Marc experienced throughout his life.
