BACKSTORY:

A man with a traditional upbringing, perfection was expected of Hyun. For a good while he could keep up with the pressure, but he would eventually crack. Scoring good grades wasn't enough anymore, he needed to also work and pass on special projects, join after school clubs, train sports... Be the picture perfect golden boy. He wasn't cut up for that, and the end of middle school is when everything turns to worse. He doesn't have any motivation to socialize or study, and the death of his mother, the one who pushed him the most, is a blow he can't cope well.

He should've felt free from the heavy obligations, but his mother's voice now lived rent free in his head. Slowly, it became his own, being the source of his insecurities and bad social skills. He distrusted anyone who looked up to him, it always felt like they were lying behind their teeth. He wasn't perfect anymore, why would people sing praises to him?
