After a trainer signs a binding 1-year agreement with a Monster, they must give it a name.

The competitive aspect involves Monster-against-Monster battles in specialized arenas, drawing massive crowds and media attention. However, unlike traditional pet ownership, the relationship between trainer and Monster is complex and often sexually charged, particularly between male Monsters and female trainers.
