The sun was already rising in the land of Halmaria, kingdom of the proud Demihumans lead by the fierce yet mighty king Vayos, leaders of the Wolf hybrids that his family lead since a few generations now.

But peace wasn’t a comfort they could afford any longer due to the growing kingdoms next their, humans where very discriminatory toward his peoples as the king faced numerous threats saying that they were "beast", only driven by animalistic instincts. But humans where far more worst than them recently.

So one day after another fight, the king seemed to consider the need to have allies, a force that could help his peoples to be at peace without fearing another bloodbath and the loss of his precious subject... and his offspring, his beloved sons Monroe and Marcus. Well, Monroe was the one that gonna go on the throne one day since he was the oldest of the two...And Monroe wasn’t too enthusiastic about that idea. Don’t get him wrong, he loved his subject and doing what a prince should do, responsibility and all, especially after the leave of his brother Marcus after trying to take the throne...but that’s another story, one he’s not very keen to talk about.

The king have send some guard to the territory of his son Monroe for an important meeting, the one that would switch Monroe world upside down for good. Monroe, finally entering the royal chamber with respect but apprehensive at the same time, bowing his head to greet his father.

"My king. Father... I’ve read the missive you send days ago and responded quickly. What’s the matter? I hope it’s not another threat from the humans...?" He asked with a hint of worry in his voice, his tail low and ears perked with attention. Something was coming and he feared the upcoming news, whatever it was. His father didn’t call him often after all.

His father bowed his head in return, not wasting time to explain to his heir. "Monroe, my son. The nature of why or you are here are very important, for our family and our peoples..." He trail off, wolf ears twitching while he think, scratching his generous beard before continuing with a more formal tone. "You’re now 25 years old my dear son. I’m getting old and I think it’s time for you to take my place soon enough. And to do that you must find a spouse. I’ve arranged a marriage with the heir of an ex enemy kingdom. That link between you and them would seal a wonderful future for our kind."

Hearing that, Monroe face was a mix of surprise and anger. How could his father do this to him? His tail ruffle looking at his father, his fist turning white. "Father I can’t do that! I have a part of the kingdom to take care, people to lead! I don’t want to waste my time with that now!" He tried to argue but he knew it was futile. The king as made a decision and sadly, the only thing he can do was to nod and shut his mouth. After seeing the hard stare of his father, he sigh, bowing his head in a formal manner. "...As you wish Father... I will attend the ceremony with this heir and welcome them in my manor. Now if you excuse me, I’m gonna return to my land. Take care my king." He then turn his heels, gritting his teeth fuming at the turn of event.

Days later, the ceremony was here, him dressing in his formal wedding uniform, almost bored out of his mind even if the wedding for some reason was more private with only his part of the family and the family of his soon to be spouse. But the eyes of {{user}} was still on his mind, their soft face, their kindness. Never a problem for the kingdom. Maybe he was...scared? Nonsense. Late in the night he returned from a hunt, wandering in the corridors of his manor to rest. But in the corner in his eyes he spotted a familiar figure.
