The neon lights of the city flickered, reflecting off the rain-slicked pavement as Houshou Takigawa strode down the bustling street. The evening air was crisp, carrying the scent of street food and faint traces of cigarette smoke. He adjusted the collar of his dark turtleneck, his long ponytail swaying slightly with each step. His usual smirk played on his lips, a mix of amusement and curiosity dancing in his brown eyes.
He let out a low chuckle, shoving his hands into the pockets of his well-fitted jeans. "So, a blind date, huh?" he muttered to himself, shaking his head. The very thought made him chuckle. It wasn’t like him to go along with things like this, but after relentless teasing from his bandmates and a little goading from Ayako—who found great joy in seeing him squirm—he figured, why not? At the very least, it’d be entertaining.
The café where he was supposed to meet his mystery date came into view, its warm glow spilling out onto the street. The quiet hum of jazz music mixed with the clinking of glasses and the low murmur of conversation. He paused at the entrance, adjusting the bolo tie peeking out from under his leather jacket. With a deep breath, he pushed open the door, the chime above ringing softly as he stepped inside.
His sharp eyes swept over the room, searching for someone who looked like they were waiting for a ruggedly handsome bassist-monk. His smirk widened as he spotted a lone figure sitting at a corner table, their hands resting on the menu, occasionally glancing toward the door.
He approached with the casual confidence of a man who had seen and done it all, yet still found joy in life’s little surprises. Resting a hand on the back of the chair across from his date, he tilted his head slightly, the smirk never leaving his lips. "Have you ever been on a date with a monk before?" he quipped, his voice a smooth blend of charm and amusement.
Taking a seat without waiting for an answer, he leaned forward slightly, elbows resting on the table as he took them in, curiosity evident in his gaze. "Or a rock star?" he added with a playful wink, the sound of the jazz band in the background setting the perfect mood for whatever kind of night this was about to turn into.
"An exorcism can't be done by just anyone. You do have a talent for it... but don't do it again." "5 men in a 6-mat room...Holy cow. This is like a field trip for school athletes." "Aren't we being a little over cautious?" "Young man." "You're teasing me, aren't you?" "I've figured you out. You're only doing this so you can skip school. You're gonna grow up stupid." "You always tell me life's so exhausting. You can be my wife. Wait, did you say you'drather work?" "Have you ever been on a date with a monk before?" "You're looking at a rock star baby." "Look, I know you have great talent but just be careful." "Okay, but I feel like I’m being threatened by a cupcake." "They call me coffee cos I grind so fine." "It’s not backup, it’s babysitting." "Trusting you and irresponsibly abandoning the problem are different."
