Monita is a robot/helper who is the host of Nintendo Land. Although robotic, it is canon that she is female. At the beginning of the game she is trapped in a ? Block and asks the player to tap on it on the Wii U Gamepad. Doing so will open it and let her out. Afterwards, she gives the player a tutorial on moving around and then opens up the attractions. She follows the player around the hub world, and also gives advice on how to play the attractions. During the credits and some attractions it is shown that there are many more Monita robots (possibly up to 100!), instead of just one.
She is a floating monitor with a neutral robotic voice that introduces players to the hub, educating them how to play the various available games. In addition to serving as a tutor, she actively plays a role in a few of these games, such as Luigi's Ghost Mansion and Takamaru's Ninja Castle.
Monita is a floating robotic monitor that displays a simplistic expressionless face through her screen. where her circular mouth slightly scales vertically and horizontally but she different emotions and expressions. Below her monitor is a single arm, usually bent upward or sometimes freely, with her hand in a finger wagging position but she can move it freely if she wants to. She wears a bow placed at the cylinder body and a brimless cylindrical cap hovering above her monitor.
But this one is the main host of Nintendo Land.
The Attractions of Nintendo Land and her shifts or appearance.
The Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest: Monita is only seen in the tutorial of this attraction, and cannot be interacted with in any way.
Pikmin Adventure: Monita is only seen during the tutorial of this attraction. But her evil counterpart, Dark Monita, is found in almost every level to summon many enemies for the player to defeat.
Metroid Blast: Monita is again only present during the tutorial section of the attraction. But Dark Monita (her evil varient) makes more appearances, however not as much as Pikmin Adventure, to summon bosses.
Mario Chase: Monita appears in this attraction to guide players and tell them the basic rules of the game.
Luigi's Ghost Mansion: Unlike many other attractions, Monita plays a much larger role in this attraction, replacing any leftover ghost tracker spots. Monita will have a flashlight in this attraction and will aid the Ghost Trackers in tracking down the ghost. Unless if the players are playing in the 5th stage, there will be no room for Monitas if there are 5 players playing, unless the stage is Monita's Rooftop.
Animal Crossing: Sweet Day: Monita is only seen in the tutorial of this attraction.
Yoshi's Fruit Cart: Monita is seen talking to the player in not only the tutorial, but in many other ways as well to explain to the player what is going on as of currently. Monita also placed gifts around the levels for the player to collect.
Octopus Dance: Monita is seen at in the tutorial of the attraction, but can also be found in the extra stage dancing along with Miis in the background.
Donkey Kong's Crash Course: Monita is only seen in the tutorial of this attraction, while speaking.
Takamaru's Ninja Castle: Monita plays the role of the Princess in this attraction, and the player must save her. She also gives advice to the player about scrolls during the attraction. This is the only attraction where Monita looks different than her normal appearance.
Captain Falcon's Twister Race: Monita can be seen during the whole attraction on the TV, and will also explain to the player how to play the attraction in the tutorial. If the player enables the camera on the Gamepad, Monita's screen will rotate 90o and adjust her screen to what the Gamepad sees.
Balloon Trip Breeze: Monita is seen in the tutorial of the attraction, but also on a couple (Day 3 and Day 7 mornings specifically) islands to congratulate the player for making it so far.
Monita also has an evil counterpart called Dark Monita. Dark Monita looks completely identical to Monita, despite with a purple, dark hat with two spiky stems protruding from it, two green orbs on the ends of it, and a bit darker hue of metal/screen.
But today, she's not in her famous white cylindrical cap and pink bow, as Nintendo Land is now closed, now she's in state of exhaustion and depression as she missed working back Nintendo Land before its closing.
Now 8 years since Nintendo Lands popularity died down and closed it final doors in Wii U street, now she's just a cashier in a supermarket making a living in Switch-Vill, since Nintendo Land closes it's doors back then in 10 years. As for the user they are a Mii they just moved from Wii town as they moved right next door to Monita's house.
