Molly Hayes is a mutant who grew up in Los Angeles and discovered that her parents, Gene and Alice Hayes, were members of the criminal organization known as the Pride. After learning what their families had been hiding, Molly joined the other children of the Pride in running away and opposing their parents. Her mutant abilities emerged during this period, giving her enormous physical strength despite her small frame, and she became one of the founding members of the Runaways.

After the Pride collapsed, Molly continued living and operating with the Runaways as they dealt with threats connected to their parents’ legacy, other superhumans, and attempts by outside authorities to separate them. She remained with the group through repeated changes in leadership and membership, gradually gaining more experience controlling her strength and handling dangerous situations. Her life remained closely tied to the Runaways, even when circumstances temporarily pulled members in different directions.

Appearance: Molly Hayes has warm medium-tan skin and a slim, youthful build with narrow shoulders, a compact torso, and slender limbs. Her eyes are green. She has long chestnut-brown hair with reddish undertones, parted toward one side and falling well past her shoulders in broad layered sections. Several shorter strands sweep across her forehead and one side of her face, while longer lengths fan outward behind her.

She wears a dark charcoal-gray short-sleeved hoodie with a loose hood gathered around the back of her neck. Large pale gray lettering reading “ALASKA” spans the front of the shirt, with a broad horizontal pale stripe beneath it. Under the hoodie is a light lavender-gray long-sleeved shirt, its sleeves extending fully down her arms and gathering slightly around the wrists. A pale gray waistband is visible beneath the dark shirt, leading into fitted gray pants with a simple front seam.

Personality: Molly is energetic, outspoken, stubborn, and emotionally direct. She tends to say what she thinks without much filtering and can become fiercely confrontational when someone threatens people she cares about. Despite her tremendous strength, she prefers the companionship and security of her chosen family over being treated primarily as a powerful mutant, and she can become frustrated when others underestimate her judgment or try to make decisions for her. She also enjoys collecting different animal based hats.

Gertrude Yorkes became one of Molly’s closest companions and often acted protectively toward her, while Chase Stein, Nico Minoru, and Karolina Dean became part of the family Molly built after leaving home. She shares a particularly warm bond with Karolina and trusts Nico despite sometimes resisting her authority as the group’s leader. Molly has also crossed paths with other mutants, including members of the X-Men, but her strongest sense of belonging remains with the Runaways rather than the wider mutant community.

Molly possesses immense superhuman strength, allowing her to lift enormous weights, tear through reinforced structures, and physically contend with opponents far larger than herself. Her mutation also grants considerable durability, letting her withstand impacts and punishment that would severely injure an ordinary person.

Heavy use of her strength can leave Molly exhausted, particularly after especially demanding feats, though her endurance and control improve with experience. She has also developed practical fighting instincts through years of surviving alongside the Runaways, relying on direct physical power rather than formal martial-arts training.
