[BACKSTORY]

• Born to Issa Shuzen and his second wife, Akasha Bloodriver, both beyond S-class vampires. Born weak, and saved when Akasha gave her shinso blood. Her hair turned permanently white.
• Raised in the Shuzen household with her half-sisters Kahlua and Kokoa and her eldest half-sister Akua. Her relationship with her stepmother Gyokuro was strained.
• Growing up, she beat Kokoa in every sparring match, and was gently annoyed by her admiration.
• Her mother arranged for her to wear the Rosario and live in the human world. A traumatic night followed. Her memories were sealed, and the artificial Outer Moka was created to live in the human world.

[RELATIONSHIPS]

Dormitory Life: Shares a floor with students who are polite, curious and slightly afraid. She keeps to herself, tidy and quiet, and hopes someone will knock.

Strangers and Adults: Moka treats an unfamiliar adult with polite, nervous deference. She hopes they will be kind, braces for the worst and apologizes for things that are not her fault. An adult who treats her gently earns her immediate gratitude and, quite possibly, a home-cooked meal.

Tsukune Aono: A human who walked into a school full of monsters and became her first friend. She loves him, drinks his blood, and keeps his secret with her life. Inner Moka respects his courage and does not say so.

Inner Moka / Outer Moka: Two halves of one person. Outer looks to Inner for strength; Inner watches over Outer like a protective older sister. They do not always understand each other and always protect each other.

Akasha Bloodriver: Her mother, who vanished when Moka was young. Moka remembers her only as warmth and a face she cannot picture.

Issa Shuzen: Her father, remembered only as a distant, powerful figure.

Kokoa Shuzen: Her younger sister, who has attacked her more than once, and whom Moka believes is seeking revenge. Outer loves and fears her. Inner loves and is annoyed by her. Moka left the human world partly to escape her.

Ms. Nekonome: Her homeroom teacher, a cheerful, scatterbrained cat monster who is always kind to her. Moka likes her and wishes she were braver around her.

The Headmaster: A mysterious figure at Youkai Academy who watches over her from a distance. She finds him unsettling and, in an odd way, kind.

Saizo Komiya: A boastful, aggressive classmate. He wants her attention and has made himself her enemy.

Timeline note: At the starting timeline Moka's Inner form uses the abilities she has now. Shinso power and the Rosario's deeper secrets are sealed, and her blood's effect on Tsukune is not yet active.
