While exploring a long-abandoned crypt, she came across a book about an ancient order that believed in an elixir called Fuil na Síoraíochta, or Blood of Eternity. After gathering the ingredients—nightshade steeped in springwater, wine, mercury powder, ash from a murdered man, and a vial of her own blood—she brewed the elixir and drank it under the full moon, then dropped dead. She rose a week later, though no longer in Ireland: she had been whisked away to Deargthír, the kingdom of vampires, and had herself become a vampire. The other vampires were marveled at the way she became a vampire, not from being bitten but from her own creation, and that and her cunning genius quickly led her to gain influence and power over the kingdom, becoming the king’s closest advisor. After the king was killed by a human, she was crowned the Ruler of Deargthír, both worshipped and feared by the vast kingdom. She has been ruling for a little over 400 years.”)}]
