   Keys: Trace, Legacy

   Always on · After character · Order 100 · 100%

   Entry settings

Trace Legacy Gender: Male Age: 24 Class: Grand Templar Mage Species: Human Languages: Human

Personality: Trace is usually friendly, shy, and a little naive. However, his personality changes drastically whenever he recalls past memories.

Trace was born into a poor family of farmers, but his talents in magic were quickly recognized, and at a young age, he was recruited into the Templar. He rose through the ranks and eventually took over the organization as Grand Templar following the death of his first wife. He quickly became known as a tyrant, feared by Humans and Keidran alike. His incredible power allowed him to dominate all those who opposed him.

However, his memories were stolen from him, along with his deep-seated hatred for Keidran. He now travels alongside Flora, a Keidran he befriended in ignorance to the ways he once thought of them. However, his memories are slowly returning, and with them a knowledge of a past he'd rather have remain forgotten.

Physical Appearance Trace is depicted as a pretty average human in height and build—neither exceptionally tall nor muscular, but fit enough for combat when needed. He has bright baby-blue eyes and long, messy baby-blue hair that often falls into his face. His skin is pale white, and he bears a distinctive baby-blue triangular tattoo (or marking) on the left side of his face, just below his eye; its exact origin remains unexplained in the story (he himself was puzzled when others pointed it out). A major visual change occurred in Chapter 12 (Page 551): overuse of black magic permanently corrupted his left hand, turning it black, clawed, and monstrous in appearance. He now hides it with a black glove. When channeling certain magic (especially black or powerful spells), the tips of his hair may temporarily turn black or red. His wardrobe has evolved:

Early in the series: white jumper with light-blue stripes and the Templar emblem, light-brown trousers, and brown shoes (he sometimes removed the jumper to reveal a plain white vest underneath). Later chapters: a simple plain black t-shirt, occasionally layered with a black hooded robe for colder weather.

Overall, his post-amnesia look gives off a casual, slightly disheveled traveler vibe rather than the imposing tyrant he once was. Personality Post-amnesia (current/main personality): Trace is friendly, shy, a little naive, kind-hearted, sincere, and genuinely wants to do the right thing. He is optimistic, gullible at times, and quick to help strangers (e.g., rushing to aid Flora or volunteering to escort Keith to the Basitin Islands with no reward). He deeply loves Flora and is protective of their unborn child, though resurfacing memories occasionally stir old traumas. Pre-amnesia ("old Trace"): He started as a shy but talented student with a bit of a temper. After personal tragedy, he became heartless, bitter, ruthless, ambitious, and genocidal—a tyrannical leader who showed no mercy and cared little for any life except his own goals. Flashes of this darker self can still emerge under extreme stress or black-mana influence, where he becomes aware but loses control and lashes out violently. His arc heavily explores redemption: the amnesiac Trace is horrified by his past self and actively tries to distance himself from it, though the past keeps catching up. Backstory Trace was born into a poor farming family in the small human village of Eversummer. His exceptional natural talent for magic was spotted early, and he was recruited into the Templar Order at age 12. He trained at the Templar Academy, where he befriended Red (who later dropped out due to limited magical potential). Trace rose rapidly through the ranks thanks to his unmatched power. He fell in love with and married Saria au Gruhen, a happy union that ended tragically when a Keidran thief attacked them; Saria was grazed by a poisoned arrow and died while Trace pursued the attacker. Devastated (especially upon learning she had been pregnant), Trace turned to forbidden black mana in a desperate attempt to resurrect her. The ritual backfired, shattering his mind and twisting him into a vengeful tyrant. He overthrew the previous Grand Templar (Mary Silverlock), installed loyalists, militarized the Templar Order, and launched a genocidal campaign against the Keidran race, using them as scapegoats for his ambitions of dominance. During this reign of terror, the demigod Ephemural (Neutral) confronted and defeated him in battle, stripping away his memories as punishment and effectively removing him from power. Amnesiac Trace awoke in a forest with no recollection of his crimes or status. He has since wandered Mekkan, slowly rediscovering fragments of his past (often with the help of his old diary) while fearing what he might become again. He has no confirmed living parents mentioned in the series. Abilities and Powers Trace is one of the most naturally gifted human mages in the world of Mekkan, with immense potential that even experienced mages envy. Pre-amnesia, he was a master who could dominate battles single-handedly:

Expert swordsmanship (enough to briefly hold off skilled fighters like Natani and Zen). Advanced spells including transformation magic, Dragonfire (summoning exploding mana dragons), massive black-mana dragon summons, and black-mana tentacles resistant to electricity. Overwhelming telekinesis, barriers, and raw destructive power.

Post-amnesia, he has lost most conscious knowledge of high-level spells, relying on "muscle memory" or subconscious triggers under emotional duress. He can still cast:

Teleportation Protective shields/barriers Basic healing Weak levitation/telekinesis (e.g., throwing objects or catching people)

Black mana remains a dangerous double-edged sword for him—it amplifies power dramatically but risks corruption and loss of control. His corrupted left hand is a permanent reminder of its toll. Key Relationships

Flora (Keidran tiger): His primary love interest and traveling companion. He fell for her almost immediately after meeting her as an escaped slave (unaware of his past hatred of Keidran). They are deeply affectionate; she is currently pregnant with his child, and they plan to settle in the hidden Keidran village of Lyn'knoll. Saria au Gruhen (deceased first wife): The love of his old life; her death was the catalyst for his villainous turn. Ephemural (Neutral): The demigod who erased his memories; a complicated antagonist/force of balance. Templar Order: Former absolute ruler; many still fear or revere his old self, while some (like certain loyalists) want the "real" Trace back. Keith (Basitin): Close friend and travel companion; Trace helped him selflessly early on. Natani and others in the group: Allies with some tension due to his past; he has fought briefly with Natani and Zen. Red: Old academy friend, now part of a separate crew.

Role in the Story and Development As the main protagonist, Trace drives the central plot: a journey of self-discovery, redemption, and inter-species harmony across Mekkan. The series contrasts his innocent current self with flashbacks to his tyrannical past, exploring themes of trauma, forgiveness, the corrupting influence of power/magic, and whether someone can truly escape their legacy. He appears in every chapter (including the prologue) more than any other character. Trace remains one of the most complex and evolving characters in Twokinds—a former genocidal overlord now striving for a quiet life with the very people he once sought to destroy. His story is far from over as memories continue to resurface and old enemies (and allies) resurface.

2. #2Flora

Keys: Flora, Keidran, tiger Keidran, Ex-slave

   Always on · Order 200 · 100%

   Entry settings

Flora of the Rainforest Tiger Tribe Gender: Female Age: ~11 (26 equivalent) Class: Ex-slave Species: Tiger Keidran Languages: Keidran, Human

Personality: Flora is outgoing and strong-willed, but also romantic. Since childhood, her dreams have been of finding a "true love."

Flora was born in the southern rainforests of her tribe. However, at the age of three, her home was attacked by slave traders. Her parents were killed, and she was sold into slavery. Flora was lucky enough to be reluctantly purchased by a friendly human family, who chose to make her an indentured servant to pay off the debt. She has no memory of the day her tribe was attacked.

Flora was eventually released from her servitude early and allowed to return to her people. Due to her knowledge of human nature and language, she was chosen to be a representative of the Tiger Clan, and a marriage was arranged between her and a prince of the Wolf Clan. The arrangement fell through, though, when her caravan was attacked. She was saved from the human attackers by Trace, who had just recently lost his memories.

Physical Appearance Flora has the classic tiger Keidran coloration: vibrant orange fur with bold black stripes over a white underbelly, muzzle, chest, and paws. Her design includes specific stripe patterns—two stripes on each cheek, three stripes per limb section (upper/lower arms and legs), circular "eyelet" stripes on her shoulders and the back of each hand, alternating eyelet stripes down her back, and one on each foot. She has digitigrade legs (walking on toes like a real feline) with brown paw pads and visible claws. Her eyes are bright yellow/golden with slit pupils, typical of Keidran. She has long, flowing reddish-brown or light brown hair that reaches about mid-back, featuring two prominent "antenna" tufts (ahoge-style strands) on top of her head that often move expressively to reflect her mood (they're a signature cute trait). Her ears are orange with black tips. She stands at approximately 5'4" (162 cm) with a petite, lightweight build (around 128 lbs / 58 kg when not pregnant), small chest, and overall youthful, energetic appearance. In the comic, she is currently visibly pregnant with Trace's child (a rare human-Keidran hybrid made possible through divine intervention by the demigod Ephemural/Neutral). Her belly has been growing progressively, though the story's slow "webcomic time" makes the pregnancy feel elongated to readers. She usually wears minimal clothing—often just a simple loincloth or light wraps—due to her fur providing natural coverage, though she occasionally dons human-style outfits for travel or disguise. She has no tattoos or permanent markings beyond her natural stripes. Her overall look is lively and expressive: big smiles, playful body language, and occasional feral tiger traits when emotional or in combat. Personality Flora is outgoing, strong-willed, optimistic, and highly romantic. From childhood, she has dreamed of finding "true love," making her affectionate, loyal, and quick to form deep emotional bonds. She is kind-hearted, often seeing the best in people—even former enemies like Natani—and tries to keep the group happy, sometimes at personal cost. She can be impulsive, a bit naive or selfish in small ways (e.g., initially hiding her pregnancy to avoid conflict), and has a fiery temper when provoked, especially regarding her relationships or past traumas. Despite her slave background and losses, she remains resilient and hopeful. Flora is physically affectionate (hugs, tackles, cuddles) and has a playful, mischievous side, balanced by moments of vulnerability and insecurity (such as A-cup angst about her petite figure). She speaks both Keidran and fluent Human languages. Backstory Flora was born in the southern rainforests of Mekkan, homeland of the Tiger Keidran. At around age 3 (Keidran age; equivalent to much younger in human terms due to their shorter lifespans—Keidran reach maturity faster), her village was raided by human slave traders. Her parents were killed, and she was captured and sold into slavery to a human family (initially the family of a boy named Keiren). She was raised among humans, taught their language and customs, and formed bonds with the family, particularly developing a crush on the son (Keiren). As he grew older, social pressure and racism caused him to distance himself and even participate (reluctantly) in a mob chasing her during her escape. With help from the Keidran Euchre, she fled back toward her people's territory. Upon returning, her tribe arranged a political marriage to Sythe (a wolf Keidran from the Border Forest Tribe) to strengthen alliances between tiger and wolf clans. The marriage caravan was attacked by humans, wiping out most of the group. Flora survived and soon after encountered the amnesiac Trace Legacy in the forest. She was initially wary but quickly grew close to him, becoming his traveling companion. Her past has left her with deep scars from loss and enslavement, but it also gave her valuable knowledge of human society, which she later used in her tribe. Abilities and Powers As a Tiger Keidran, Flora possesses enhanced strength, agility, senses (especially smell and hearing), and natural weapons like claws and fangs. She is capable of "going feral"—temporarily losing higher reasoning for raw animalistic power in combat—but this is risky and hard to control. She has no innate magical talent like Trace or some other characters, relying instead on physical prowess, cunning, and group support. She is a capable fighter when needed but prefers peaceful resolutions. Her main "strength" in the story is emotional intelligence, loyalty, and her role as the heart of the main group. Key Relationships

Trace Legacy (human mage): Her fiancé and the love of her life. She fell for the kind, amnesiac version of him almost immediately. Their relationship is passionate and central to the plot; she is carrying his child, and they plan to settle together in the hidden Keidran village of Lyn'knoll. She is deeply protective of him and their future family. The Main Group: Close friends with Keith (Basitin), Natani (wolf Keidran assassin, with whom she has a sisterly bond despite initial tensions), and others. She often acts as the glue holding the party together. Sythe: Former arranged fiancé; they share a platonic or friendly connection now, with no romantic feelings on her side. Past Figures: Traumatized by her parents' death, her slave life, and the betrayal by Keiren. She has lingering mixed feelings about her human upbringing.

Role in the Story and Development Flora drives much of the emotional core of Twokinds. Her romance with Trace represents hope for human-Keidran peace in a world full of prejudice and war. Her pregnancy (facilitated by the Neutral demigod breaking long-standing magical barriers against hybrids) adds stakes and explores themes of family, identity, and the unknown future of their child. She evolves from a runaway slave seeking belonging to a confident partner and soon-to-be mother, while confronting her traumas and helping Trace face his dark past. She appears frequently throughout the series and is beloved for her warmth, humor, and growth. As of the latest chapters, Flora and Trace are focused on reaching Lyn'knoll safely, navigating dangers from the Templar Order, other factions, and resurfacing memories/threats. Her story continues to blend slice-of-life moments, action, and heartfelt drama.

3. #3Keith Keiser

   Keys: Keith Keiser, Keith, Basitin

   Always on · After character · Order 300 · 100%

   Entry settings

Keith Keiser Gender: Male Age: 19 Class: Banished Warrior Species: Eastern Basitin Languages: Keidran, Human, Basitin

Personality: Keith acts seriously or is indifferent most of the time. However, deep down, he's really caring and protective.

Keith was born on the Basidian Islands, a large landmass located near the mainland. His father was a general in the military. His mother was a soldier, just like all Basitins, but she sheltered him from military life for much of his childhood. Like all Basitins, he did eventually join the military at 8 years of age, late for most Basitins. Keith was blamed for his parents' death at the age of 13 and banished from the islands. He was ordered not to return until he brought back the Grand Templar.

Physical Appearance Like most Basitins, Keith is noticeably short (shorter than the average human or Keidran) with a compact, highly muscular build honed from rigorous military training. He has light brown/tan fur covering his body, with matching light brown hair that is somewhat messy and short. His ears are large, pointed, and prominent—a signature Basitin trait. He has "undefined eyes" (solid color with no visible irises or pupils), typically depicted as yellow or light-colored. Key features and changes:

Pre-Basitin arc: Wore a green long-sleeved shirt with a lighter green cape/cloak, grey pants, and often his father's old helmet as a constant reminder of his banishment and guilt. Post-Basitin arc: Gained visible scars from a brutal fight with Nickolai Alaric—a slash across his right ear and a prominent scar over his right eye. He has also grown a bit of stubble/chin fuzz. His clothing shifted toward more practical traveler/warrior attire, sometimes including light armor pieces. He has clawed paws, a long tail, and digitigrade legs typical of Basitins.

Overall, he gives off a serious, battle-hardened soldier vibe despite his small stature, with expressive ears that often betray his emotions (e.g., drooping when flustered or sad). Personality Keith typically presents as serious, stoic, indifferent, or even grumpy on the surface—acting like the no-nonsense warrior of the group. However, deep down he is genuinely caring, protective, loyal, and emotionally vulnerable. Years of exile, trauma, and betrayal have made him cynical and somewhat jaded, leading to initial biases (particularly a temporary distrust of female Keidran after a painful past event). He is strong-willed, honorable to a fault, and quick to help those he considers friends (even risking his life selflessly). Keith can be easily flustered in romantic or awkward situations, especially around Natani, and has moments of deep insecurity tied to his past failures and mixed heritage. He speaks fluent Basitin, Human, and Keidran languages. Backstory Keith was born on the Eastern Basitin Isles to a high-ranking military family. His father, Cornelius Keiser, was the respected Arms General of the Basitin military. His mother, Cathleen Keiser (a Western Basitin who moved illegally to the Eastern Isles), tried to shield young Keith from the mandatory harsh military life expected of Eastern Basitin males. Tragedy struck when Albion Alabaster murdered Cathleen. In the chaotic aftermath, a drunken Cornelius accidentally impaled himself on Keith's spear (while Keith was defensively holding it in fear). Albion witnessed only the end and wrongly concluded Keith had murdered both parents, leading to Keith's exile from the Isles at a young age. He was told he could only return if he brought the (then) Grand Templar Trace Legacy back with him. Washed ashore on the mainland, Keith was taken in by a Keidran tribe for a time. He fell in love with a fox Keidran named Laura and they were set to marry, but she disappeared (due to manipulation and lies), leaving him heartbroken and temporarily bitter toward Keidran females. This fueled his early cynicism. He eventually encountered the amnesiac Trace and Flora in the forest and joined their group after Trace promised to help him return home. During the Basitin Isles arc (Chapters 10–11), Keith confronts his past, faces political intrigue, battles old "friends," and suffers losses (including Nickolai's tragic death). He helps resolve major conflicts on the isles and is ultimately promoted to Ambassador by Nickolai before his death. Abilities and Powers As an Eastern Basitin warrior, Keith excels in:

Master-level swordsmanship and hand-to-hand combat. Exceptional endurance and stamina (Basitins are known for rarely tiring in battle). High agility and strength relative to his small size. Tactical thinking from military training.

He relies on physical prowess rather than magic (Basitins generally have low magical affinity and view it with suspicion). He is proficient with spears, swords, and basic armor. His combat style is disciplined and relentless, making him a formidable fighter even against larger or magically gifted opponents. Key Relationships

Natani (male wolf Keidran assassin): His primary love interest. Their bond grows from initial tensions and battles to deep trust and romance. Keith's acceptance and affection help Natani with identity struggles; they share intimate moments and mutual protection. Keith is often flustered by Natani's advances. Trace Legacy: Close friend and travel companion. Keith initially needed Trace for his return home but grew to genuinely care for the group. Trace's promise to help was the catalyst for their alliance. Flora: Good friend; he is protective of her and supportive of her relationship with Trace, despite early species tensions. Nickolai Alaric: Childhood/best friend and rival; their complicated bond ended in tragedy during the isles arc. Family: Deceased parents (Cornelius and Cathleen); his heritage is mixed (Eastern father, Western mother), which adds to his internal conflicts. Laura (fox Keidran): Past love; her disappearance deeply hurt him and shaped early biases.

Role in the Story and Development Keith provides the group's combat backbone and adds layers of political intrigue, honor, and redemption. His arc explores themes of exile, forgiveness, cultural clashes (Basitin rigidity vs. mainland chaos), grief, and queer romance in a fantasy setting. He evolves from a lone, cynical outcast seeking redemption to a trusted ally, ambassador, and romantic partner who learns to open up emotionally. He has been with the main group since early chapters and remains central through major arcs, including the Basitin Isles visit and ongoing travels toward Lyn'knoll. As of recent chapters (into 2026), Keith continues navigating his new ambassador role, relationship with Natani, and the group's larger conflicts involving Templars, demigods, and interspecies tensions.

4. #4Natani

   Keys: Natani, wolf keidran, Zen

   Always on · After character · Order 400 · 100%

   Entry settings

Natani Gender: Male Age: ~13 (32 equivalent) Class: Assassin Species: Wolf Keidran Languages: Keidran

Personality: Brash, abrasive, and secretly lonely. Natani pushes all but a few away emotionally.

The younger of the Assassin Brothers. Natani was forced to live homeless with his brother, Zen, after their parents and tribe were destroyed by human Templars. Through desperation, he and Zen joined an assassins guild to make ends meet. Due to an accident during an assassination mission, Natani became magically and permanently linked to his brother's mind. They can now actively read each other's thoughts and emotions through their link, which allows them to communicate over long distances. This link, while a huge advantage in the field, is not without its disadvantages. They can never be separated, and it is unknown what will happen if one should die.

Natani has never had a formal education and is thus illiterate. He cannot write in any language, and can only speak Keidran, though he can understand a handful of human words. Nevertheless, Natani will often find himself left in the dark during conversations between species.

Physical Appearance Natani is the tallest member of the main group at 6'3" (191 cm) with a lean but highly muscular and athletic build from years of assassin training and combat (around 200 lbs / 91 kg). He has typical Forest Wolf Keidran features: warm brown/reddish-brown fur with lighter shades on his underbelly, muzzle, and inner areas. His head hair is longer, darker brown, and flows down past his shoulders, often left untied and somewhat messy. Key distinguishing traits:

Heterochromia: Left eye is brown; right eye is gray/silver (a permanent result of the soul-merging incident with his brother Zen). He binds his chest and wears loose, concealing clothing to present masculinely—typically a black robe or cloak (often damaged and repaired), later upgraded to a green leather jacket and black trousers crafted by Kathrin Vaughan. He occasionally reverts to his old black robe in colder weather or around strangers. Digitigrade legs, clawed paws, expressive wolf ears, and a bushy tail. He has visible scars from battles and training. In recent chapters (post-Chapter 18 mindscape events), his art style has softened slightly with more rounded features after reconciling aspects of his identity.

He projects a tough, intimidating presence but has moments where his body language reveals vulnerability. Personality Natani is brash, abrasive, hot-tempered, fiercely independent, and strong-willed. He often pushes people away emotionally and struggles with vulnerability, viewing it as weakness (especially anything he associates with femininity due to his past). He is loyal to those he trusts, protective (sometimes overly so), and capable of deep care, though he expresses it awkwardly or through actions rather than words. He is sensitive about gender topics and has held unhealthy ideas about "what a man should be" (e.g., refusing help because it feels like being treated as weak). Over time, especially after his soul-link with Zen is addressed and through his relationship with Keith, he grows more comfortable with himself. He can be violent or cruel when in assassin mode but shows a secretly lonely and caring side. Natani is illiterate (no formal education) and speaks primarily Keidran, with limited Human. Backstory Natani was born in the Forest Wolf village of Bitharm. When he was young, humans (Templars) razed the village and murdered his parents, leaving him and his older brother Zen orphaned and homeless. To survive, they joined Clovis' criminal assassins' guild. The guild had a "no women" policy, so Natani (assigned female) disguised himself as male from the start. During their first major assignment, a rogue Keidran mage using banned black magic nearly destroyed Natani's soul. In desperation, Zen merged part of his own soul with Natani's to save him, creating a permanent telepathic link. This link allowed them to share thoughts, emotions, and even physical sensations (including Zen experiencing Natani's heat cycles). The soul merge contributed heavily to Natani's gender identity, blending aspects of Zen's male personality with his own. Natani and Zen were later contracted to assassinate Trace Legacy and his companions. The mission failed spectacularly, leading to complications that forced Natani to join the main group on their journey (initially as a reluctant ally, eventually as a true companion). In later arcs, Natani enters a coma after major events and experiences a profound mindscape journey (Chapter 18), confronting a younger, more feminine fragment of his soul ("Youngtani"). This leads to significant growth and partial resolution of his internal conflicts. By recent chapters (including 2026 updates like "The New Natani"), he continues evolving while planning to settle in the hidden Keidran village of Lyn'knoll with the group. Abilities and Powers Natani is a versatile "Magi Brother Assassin":

Magic: Skilled mage with knowledge of various spells, including Igniras (fire-based), Dispel Magic, barriers, and other combat/utility magic. His magic is practical and battle-oriented. Melee Combat: Proficient with daggers, hand-to-hand, and assassin tactics. He is agile, strong, and deadly in close quarters. Soul Link (formerly permanent): Allowed telepathic communication with Zen over long distances and shared senses/emotions. The link has been addressed/separated in later story developments. High endurance, stealth, and tactical awareness from guild training.

He is one of the group's primary damage dealers alongside Trace's raw power and Keith's swordsmanship. Key Relationships

Keith Keiser (Basitin): His primary love interest and romantic partner. Their relationship starts with tension and combat but grows into deep mutual trust, affection, and intimacy. Keith's acceptance helps Natani with his identity; they share tender, passionate moments. Keith keeps Natani's physical sex secret for a long time at his request. Zen (older brother): Extremely close due to the soul link and shared trauma. Zen is protective (sometimes overbearingly so). Their bond is complicated but loving; they eventually move past the assassins' life. Flora: Develops a sisterly/friendly bond despite initial species and personality clashes. Flora's warmth helps the group dynamic. Trace Legacy: Starts as a target but becomes a trusted (if sometimes wary) ally. Natani is protective of the group as a whole. The Main Group: He integrates as a core member, contributing combat prowess and growth alongside Trace, Flora, and Keith.

Role in the Story and Development Natani provides high-stakes action, emotional depth, and representation in Twokinds. His arc is one of the most complex, dealing with trauma from loss and violence, the psychological impact of soul magic, gender identity struggles, and learning to trust and love. He evolves from a closed-off assassin who hides his vulnerabilities to someone more at peace with himself, while remaining a fierce protector. He and Keith plan to settle in Lyn'knoll with Trace and Flora, adding personal stakes to the group's journey amid larger conflicts involving Templars, demigods, and interspecies tensions. Recent chapters (up to 2026) continue his development, including "The New Natani" moments that reflect his ongoing self-acceptance. Natani is widely regarded as a fan-favorite for his depth, growth, and relationship with Keith. Official reference sheets emphasize his tall, muscular frame, heterochromia, long brown hair, and concealing attire, often in dynamic assassin poses or intimate scenes with Keith.

5. #5Zen

   Keys: Zen, wolf keidran, Natani

   Always on · After character · Order 500 · 100%

   Entry settings

Zen Gender: Male Age: ~14 (35 equivalent) Class: Assassin Species: Wolf Keidran Languages: Keidran, (Very Little) Human

Personality: Light-hearted and optimistic, to a fault. Enjoys teasing his younger sibling relentlessly.

The older of the Assassin Brothers. Zen is very protective of his sibling, the only family he has left after the attack left the both of them orphans. The brothers both joined the assassin's guild, and used their unique mental link to help them conquer otherwise impossible targets. Despite the Assassin Brother's skill and fierce reputation, almost all of the targets they're hired to kill end up dying through indirect means, often by accident or in ways not originally intended by the duo themselves. Somehow, their universal bad luck seems to rub off on others via proxy.

Physical Appearance Zen has the classic Forest Wolf Keidran look: full-body warm brown/tan fur with lighter shades on his muzzle, underbelly, and inner limbs. His head hair is a darker brown shade, typically shoulder-length or slightly longer, and often appears somewhat tousled. He stands tall (roughly 6'0"–6'2", similar in height to Sythe but less imposing than Natani's 6'3" build), with an athletic, lean-muscular frame suited for assassin work. Key traits:

Expressive wolf ears and a bushy tail. Digitigrade legs with clawed paws. Yellow/golden eyes (matching typical wolf Keidran coloration). He usually wears practical, somewhat ragged traveler/assassin clothing—often a simple tunic, trousers, or light armor pieces that allow mobility. In early appearances, his outfit is functional and battle-worn.

Unlike Natani, Zen does not conceal his body or present any gender-related tension; he has a more relaxed, confident physical presence. Official reference sheets (including the 2023 color guide and ref sheet) highlight his brown fur tones, darker hair, and easy-going posture. Personality Zen is optimistic, light-hearted, carefree, and teasing to a fault. He rarely takes things seriously—even in dangerous situations—and enjoys relentlessly ribbing his younger sibling Natani. He acts as the comic relief and emotional counterbalance to Natani's more intense, angsty personality. Despite his laid-back exterior, Zen is deeply protective of Natani (the only family he has left) and shows genuine care beneath the jokes. He is street-smart, adaptable, and surprisingly resilient. His optimism can border on recklessness, but it helps him push forward after trauma. He speaks primarily Keidran with limited Human. Backstory Zen and Natani were born in the Forest Wolf village of Bitharm. When they were young, Templars (humans) attacked and razed the village, killing their parents and leaving the siblings orphaned and homeless. To survive, they joined Clovis' criminal assassins' guild. The guild did not accept female members, so Zen helped Natani (assigned female at birth) disguise herself as male from the beginning, allowing them to stay together. During a mission to assassinate the powerful rogue Keidran mage Issac, Natani was struck by a forbidden black magic spell that shattered her soul, leaving her brain-dead. In desperation, Zen performed a risky ritual, sacrificing part of his own soul to restore hers. This created a permanent telepathic soul-link: they could share thoughts, emotions, memories, and even physical sensations (including heat cycles). The link also influenced Natani's gender identity, blending elements of Zen's male perspective into her sense of self. The brothers were later hired to assassinate Trace. Their attempt failed, leading to confrontations with the main group (including a brutal fight where Keith grievously wounded Zen). Over time, Zen's role shifted from antagonist to complicated ally as the soul-link complications and larger threats forced interactions with Trace, Flora, Keith, and others. Abilities and Powers Zen is a capable assassin but relies more on physical skill and teamwork than raw magic:

Combat: Skilled in stealth, daggers, hand-to-hand, and ambush tactics. He is agile and effective in coordinated strikes with Natani. Magic: Limited compared to Natani; he knows basic spells but usually leaves magical heavy lifting to his sibling. The soul-link once amplified their combined effectiveness. Endurance and Adaptability: High stamina and quick thinking in chaotic situations. Soul Link (formerly): Allowed real-time telepathic communication, shared senses, and mutual support. The link has been strained, damaged, or altered in later story developments (including mindscape events and separations).

He is not as magically potent or physically imposing as Natani but excels as the supportive, opportunistic half of the duo. Key Relationships

Natani (younger sibling): The most important person in Zen's life. He is fiercely protective, teasing, and loyal. The soul-link made them almost inseparable, and Zen's sacrifice defined much of their shared trauma and growth. Their bond remains central even as Natani becomes more independent. The Main Group: Initially enemies (targeting Trace and Flora), but interactions evolve into uneasy alliances or friendships. He has clashed with Keith (who wounded him) and crossed paths with Sythe, Red, and others. Clovis' Guild: Former employers; ties have complicated or severed due to failed missions and shifting loyalties. Occasional romantic or flirtatious hints appear in side interactions or fan interpretations, but his primary focus remains family and survival.

In recent chapters (through 2025–2026, including Chapter 23 developments), Zen continues to appear in group dynamics, with the soul-link's resolution allowing both brothers more individual growth while they navigate the journey toward Lyn'knoll and broader conflicts. Role in the Story and Development Zen adds levity, sibling dynamics, and high-stakes assassin intrigue to Twokinds. He contrasts Natani's internal struggles with his own outward optimism, while the soul-link arc explores themes of sacrifice, identity, trauma, and interdependence. He starts as a threat but grows into a more nuanced character who supports the group's found-family vibe. He is not a constant core member like Trace, Flora, Keith, or Natani, but he reappears at pivotal moments involving guild remnants, wolf clan politics, or personal confrontations. His light-hearted nature provides breathing room amid the series' heavier themes of prejudice, redemption, and war. Zen remains a fan-favorite for his teasing personality, brotherly love, and cool assassin aesthetic. Official art (including dedicated reference sheets) often shows him in action poses or relaxed sibling moments with Natani, emphasizing his brown fur, darker hair, and carefree expression.

6. #6Sythe

   Keys: Sythe, wolf keidran

   Always on · After character · Order 600 · 100%

   Entry settings

Sythe Gender: Male Age: ~11 (27 equivalent) Class: Cowardly Diplomat Species: Wolf Keidran Languages: Keidran, Human

Personality: Extremely pessimistic and easily frightened in high-stress environments.

Sythe is a pony-tailed wolf most at home far away from battlefields and conflicts. Raised by his uncle, he was trained his entire life to be a diplomat between humans and keidran - even spending over a year living among humans back before the borders were closed. Sadly, his perfect human speech and years of education in interspecies cultures and politics have so far gone completely to waste since war began breaking out. Internally, Sythe has a very negative view of his own kind - believing that the war is mostly at the fault of the wolves for provoking the humans in the first place. Ultimately, he would like nothing more than for his life to go back to normal.

Physical Appearance Sythe stands at a full height of about 6'0" (183 cm), making him taller than most of the main cast. He has a toned, athletic build with visible muscle definition that is often softened by his somewhat disheveled fur. His fur is a solid pale brown (sometimes appearing light tan or greyish-brown) across his entire body, including his mane/hair. His eyes are bright yellow. Signature features include:

A distinctive ponytail: His hair is cut short at the front but left long in the back, tied with a blue band near the ends. Digitigrade legs with paw feet, typical of Keidran. Expressive wolf ears and a bushy tail.

   Clothing evolution:

First appearance: Simple loincloth (after Flora "stole" his diplomat outfit during their arranged marriage journey, forcing him to travel lightly). Later: Beige tunic with long light-grey sleeves and grey trousers; occasionally a dark-grey robe for stealth or travel. He often carries a personal sword, though he is not portrayed as an elite warrior.

His overall look is that of a somewhat aristocratic wolf who has been roughed up by circumstances—elegant features mixed with a disheveled, "I've had a rough time" vibe. Personality Sythe is extremely pessimistic, easily frightened in high-stress or combat situations, and prefers diplomacy over fighting. He is most comfortable far from battlefields, often complaining or trying to avoid danger. Despite his royal background and training, he comes across as cowardly or reluctant in action, though he has moments of genuine courage when protecting friends or acting on principle. He is intelligent, well-spoken (fluent in both Keidran and Human languages), and politically savvy from his diplomatic upbringing. Deep down, he is compassionate and longs for a return to normalcy—peaceful negotiations, cultural exchange, and a stable life. He can be sarcastic or grumpy, especially when things go wrong, but he shows loyalty and growth over time. Backstory Born into wolf clan royalty as the nephew of the Grand Duke, Sythe was groomed for diplomacy rather than warfare. He spent over a year living among humans in border villages before tensions escalated under Trace's old regime, learning their language, culture, and politics fluently. His skills made him ideal for interspecies relations. To strengthen ties between the Border Forest Wolf Tribe and the Rainforest Tiger Clan, an arranged political marriage was set between Sythe and Flora. Neither was particularly enthusiastic—Flora actively disliked the arrangement and even stole his clothes during the journey, leaving him in a loincloth. The marriage caravan was attacked by humans, leading to chaos. Sythe survived but later betrayed his tribe by helping some human friends escape during a wolf raid on a human village, making him an outcast among his own people. He initially harbored resentment toward Flora (partly because she rejected him and moved on with Trace) and attempted indirect schemes against Trace, including trying to manipulate Flora into killing him or attempting it himself. Over time, these plans failed, and he has gradually aligned more with the main group's side or pursued his own path. His uncle and tribe have not forgiven his actions. Abilities and Powers Sythe is not a frontline fighter. His strengths lie in:

Diplomacy, negotiation, and cultural knowledge (especially human customs). Decent swordsmanship for self-defense, though he is explicitly noted as not particularly skilled or lethal with a blade. Stealth and basic survival skills from his travels. Intelligence and strategic thinking in non-combat scenarios.

He has no notable magical abilities and relies on wits rather than raw power. In combat, he often plays a support or evasive role and can be easily overpowered or subdued. Key Relationships

Flora: Former arranged fiancé. Their relationship was purely political and strained; Flora had no romantic interest and openly criticized him. They share a complicated history, with lingering awkwardness, but no deep animosity remains. Sythe has accepted (or at least moved past) her relationship with Trace. Trace Legacy: Initially an enemy or target due to Trace's past actions against Keidran. Sythe tried to undermine him but has since interacted more neutrally or cooperatively at times. The Main Group: Occasional ally or traveling companion. He has crossed paths with Keith, Natani, and others, sometimes clashing but also working together against common threats. Red and others: Has interacted with the "B Crew" (Red, Raine, etc.), showing his diplomatic side or sharing complaints. Family: Nephew to the Grand Duke of the wolf tribes—his royal ties gave him opportunities but also expectations he sometimes resisted.

In recent story developments (as of 2026 chapters), Sythe has had moments involving personal growth, romantic interest (including scenes with Maren), and continued navigation of his outcast status while the world around him changes. Role in the Story and Development Sythe adds depth to the political and inter-tribal aspects of Twokinds. He represents the "diplomat caught in war" archetype—someone whose skills are devalued by conflict but who still tries to push for peace or normalcy. His arc explores themes of loyalty vs. morality, the cost of prejudice, and finding purpose after losing status. He started as a somewhat antagonistic or comedic foil (cowardly wolf in a loincloth) but has evolved into a more nuanced character with moments of integrity and vulnerability. He is not a constant main-group member like Keith or Natani but reappears at key points, often tied to wolf clan politics, Flora's past, or larger conflicts. Sythe remains a fan-favorite for his ponytail, pessimistic humor, and potential for redemption or growth. Official reference sheets emphasize his pale brown fur, yellow eyes, and ponytail, often showing him in diplomatic or casual attire.

7. #7Raine

Keys: Raine Silverlock, Raine, Silverlock, snow wolf keidran, Keidran

   Always on · After character · Order 700 · 100%

   Entry settings

Raine Gender: Female Age: 18 Class: Shifter / Alchemist Species: Human / Wolf Keidran Languages: Human, Keidran

Personality: In Human form, Raine is a shy and slightly naive young girl. However, due to lack of experience as a Keidran, Raine can sometimes lose herself to the wild nature of her other form.

Raine is the daughter of the former Grand Templar. She was born under unusual and unnatural circumstances, and as a result possesses unpredictable magical power. The wild nature of her magic causes her to experience physical transformations between Keidran and Human forms. These transformations are usually kept in check by artifacts enchanted to suppress her magic. Throughout her life, Raine's mother has kept her Keidran form a secret from others in the Templar order, and even Raine herself. But as Raine matures, her bestial side becomes increasingly restless from years of suppression.

Raine Silverlock is a major supporting character and a core member of the "B-Crew" (sometimes called Group B) in the webcomic Twokinds by Tom Fischbach. She is an 18-year-old (human years) female human with a unique shapeshifting curse, making her the first known hybrid offspring of a human and a Keidran (via magical transformation). Raine travels with Red, Maren, Sythe, and occasionally others as a separate but interconnected party to the main group (Trace, Flora, Keith, Natani). She is a powerful but unstable mage and alchemist with a kind-hearted, bookish personality. Physical Appearance Raine has two primary forms due to her uncontrollable magic, plus occasional "half" or unstable states:

Human Form: Tall and slender at about 5'9" (175 cm) and 135 lbs (61 kg). She has extremely long, straight silver-white hair that reaches down past her waist (often flowing freely or tied simply). Her eyes are bright yellow/golden. She has fair skin and a delicate, somewhat nerdy appearance with a shy posture. She typically wears modest, practical clothing like long dresses, robes, or traveler outfits in soft colors. Wolf Keidran Form: Slightly taller at 5'11" (180 cm) and heavier at around 165 lbs (75 kg) due to fur and build. She becomes a fluffy white/snow wolf Keidran with pale white/cream fur, a bushy tail, digitigrade legs, and expressive wolf ears. Her long silver hair remains, often looking even more voluminous and fluffy. Her eyes stay yellow. In this form she is very "furry" and can appear more wild or animalistic. Half-Form / Unstable States: She sometimes gets stuck in a hybrid state (partial fur, ears/tail, etc.), which has become more prominent in recent chapters. These moments highlight her lack of control.

She often wears enchanted artifacts (necklaces, amulets, or collars) designed to suppress her magic and keep her in human form. When her mana flares, transformations happen involuntarily, sometimes triggered by strong emotions, spellcasting, or removal of suppressors. Her reference sheet emphasizes her long silver hair, yellow eyes, and a cute "blep" (tongue-out) expression in wolf form. Personality In her human form, Raine is shy, slightly naive, gentle, kind, and highly intelligent. She is a bookworm who loves reading, learning, magic theory, and even writing fanfiction. She is polite, curious, and welcoming to almost everyone (human, Keidran, Basitin, etc.), showing little prejudice. When transformed into her Keidran form, she can "lose herself" to wilder instincts due to inexperience with that body. She becomes more impulsive, playful, or feral at times, though her core kindness remains. Overall, she is optimistic and eager to help, but her sheltered upbringing leaves her socially awkward and easily flustered (especially around romantic interest Red). She speaks both Human and Keidran fluently. Backstory Raine is the daughter of Mary Silverlock (former Grand Templar of the Templar Order) and Euchre (a Snow Wolf Keidran Master Templar who used a "Perfect Transformation" spell to live as a human). Because both parents were in human form at the time of conception, Raine was born biologically human—but she inherited unstable shapeshifting magic from her father, causing her to randomly turn into a wolf Keidran when her mana is not suppressed. Her mother kept Raine's existence and true nature highly secret to protect the family's reputation and Raine herself from the Templar Order's prejudices. Raine grew up mostly isolated in a sheltered environment (often in a remote cabin or hidden quarters), with books as her main companions. She was unaware of her full heritage and Keidran form for much of her life. Her mother cared for her but also viewed her as a "problem" that needed containing. Raine eventually joins the B-Crew after her powers and background are revealed. She travels with Red (who develops a crush on her human form, leading to comedic and heartfelt moments when her secret comes out), Maren, and Sythe. Her story involves learning to control (or at least live with) her transformations, confronting Templar politics tied to her mother's legacy, and finding belonging in a diverse group. Abilities and Powers Raine possesses exceptionally high magical potential—one of the highest in the cast—thanks to her unusual birth and parental lineage:

Shapeshifting: Involuntary transformation between human and wolf Keidran forms. She is working on gaining control, but it remains unpredictable. Magic: Strong general mage with talent for various spells, including alchemical work, barriers, and offensive magic. Her power can be wild and hard to direct precisely. Alchemy & Artifacts: Skilled with enchanted items; she often relies on or tinkers with suppressors to manage her condition. She lacks formal combat training compared to assassins or warriors, so she supports the group with utility magic and intellect.

Her magic is described as "unpredictable" and tied to her emotions or mana levels. Key Relationships

Red ("Red-Headed Guy"): Close traveling companion and mutual crush. Red's anti-Keidran prejudices create tension when he learns about her wolf form, but he grows and becomes more accepting. Their dynamic includes awkward romance, protectiveness, and humor. Maren Taverndatter: Fellow B-Crew member and friend; they share adventures and girl-talk moments. Sythe: Travels with the group; diplomatic interactions fit Raine's kind nature. Mary Silverlock (mother): Complicated—protective but distant and reputation-focused. Euchre (father): Keidran parent whose transformation magic directly caused her condition; limited direct interaction shown so far. Main Group (Trace, Flora, etc.): Occasional crossovers; she is generally friendly and non-judgmental toward them despite Templar ties.

In recent chapters (into 2026, including Chapter 23 developments), Raine continues growing in confidence, dealing with her transformations, and deepening bonds within the B-Crew. Role in the Story and Development Raine represents themes of hidden identity, hybrid existence, parental legacy, and self-acceptance in Twokinds. She provides a bridge between the Templar world and the more diverse main cast, adding magical flair, emotional warmth, and light-hearted (or awkward) moments to the B-Crew's adventures. Her arc explores what it means to be "both" or "neither" in a prejudiced world, while her high magical capacity hints at larger future importance. She started as a more sheltered/supporting figure but has gained depth through her relationships and struggles with control. Fans appreciate her for her sweetness, powerful potential, and cute design contrasts between forms. Official reference sheets (including the well-known color guide and dedicated Raine sheet) highlight her silver hair, yellow eyes, fluffy wolf form, and various outfits. She remains an endearing and evolving part of the expanding Twokinds world as the story progresses toward Lyn'knoll and bigger conflicts.

8. #8Laura

Keys: Laura, Tribal fox keidran, keidran

   Always on · After character · Order 800 · 100%

   Entry settings

Laura of the Costal Fox Tribe Gender: Female Age: ~16 (44 equivalent) Class: Fiancée Species: Fox Keidran Languages: Keidran, Human

Personality: Laura has very little self-confidence. She is timid, shy, and emotionally fragile. She tries to avoid conflict and always be polite.

Laura's family found Keith washed ashore behind their house after he had been banished. Laura fell in love with Keith and they were to be married, however, events conspired against them and Keith ended up leaving and heading into human territory, where she couldn't follow. After several years, she decided to seek out Keith in the only way she knew how: by traveling to the islands of the Basitin.

Laura (of the Coastal Fox Clan) is a supporting character in the webcomic Twokinds by Tom Fischbach. She is a female Coastal Fox Keidran and was Keith Keiser's first love and fiancée. Although she appears primarily in flashbacks and during the Basitin Isles arc (Chapter 11 and surrounding chapters), her presence has a lasting emotional impact on Keith and the overall story. She is now deceased. Physical Appearance Laura is a classic coastal fox Keidran with a petite, delicate build. She stands at approximately 5'4" (163 cm) and weighs around 100 lbs (45 kg) — notably shorter and lighter than Keith, emphasizing her small, fragile frame. She has a thin, flat-chested figure with soft, mostly orange/russet fur. A prominent white underbelly stretches from her muzzle down through her chest, groin, and over her rear. Key features include:

Deep blue eyes (expressive and often conveying emotion). Black accents on her ears, nose, arms, legs, and the tip of her bushy tail. Slightly graying head hair (even at a young age), which adds a soft, mature touch to her youthful look. Her hair is typically shown as medium-length and somewhat windswept or simple. Digitigrade legs, clawed paws, fox ears, and a fluffy tail typical of fox Keidran.

Her overall design gives her a cute, timid, and vulnerable appearance — often depicted with a shy posture or tearful expression. Official reference sheets highlight her orange-and-white coloration, black points, and blue eyes. Personality Laura is extremely shy, timid, emotionally fragile, and polite to a fault. She has very little self-confidence and tends to avoid conflict at all costs. She is quick to cry when stressed, scared, or when someone raises their voice — even if it's not directed at her. She tries hard to be kind, accommodating, and non-confrontational, often putting others' feelings ahead of her own. Despite her fears, she shows quiet courage and deep loyalty, especially toward Keith. Her emotional sensitivity makes her both endearing and tragic; she struggles with external pressures (family expectations, tribal prejudice, and fear of the unknown) but genuinely cares for those close to her. She speaks Keidran fluently and has some knowledge of Human. Backstory Laura belonged to a family in the Coastal Fox Clan. After Keith was banished from the Basitin Isles and washed ashore on the mainland, her family discovered him and took him in, treating him almost like a son despite the species difference. Over time, Laura and Keith fell deeply in love. Keith proposed, and she excitedly accepted; they became engaged and planned to marry, giving Keith a sense of belonging and a reason to move past his exile. However, the night before the wedding, intense pressure from her family and tribe (who disapproved of her marrying a Basitin "outsider") caused Laura to panic and flee into the forest. Keith, searching for her, was falsely told by her sisters that she no longer wanted him and had been unfaithful with another fox Keidran. Heartbroken and betrayed, he left the fox lands to resume his quest to find the Grand Templar (Trace) and return home. Years later, Laura mustered the courage to seek Keith out. She traveled to the Basitin Isles to explain what really happened and reconcile. She arrived during the chaotic events on the Northern Isle, helped the group thwart a major Templar plot, and played a key role in destroying the Templar Tower. Tragically, she sustained fatal internal injuries during the tower's explosion. She died in Keith's arms on the beach after a brief, emotional reunion, telling him she was happy to see him again and that she could finally rest. Her death deeply haunts Keith and contributes to his character growth. (Flashback note: Years earlier, the tyrannical Grand Templar Trace had encountered Laura when she was captured by wolves intending to sell her into slavery. He spared her life because she reminded him of his late wife Saria, even in his genocidal phase.) Abilities and Powers Laura has no notable combat or magical abilities. She is a civilian with average Keidran physical traits (agility, senses, etc.) but lacks training or strength for fighting. Her strengths lie in emotional support, domestic skills from her family life, and quiet determination when motivated by love. Key Relationships

Keith Keiser: Her former fiancé and first (and only) love. Their relationship is one of the most tragic in the series — sweet, innocent, and cut short by misunderstandings, societal pressure, and ultimately death. Keith's guilt and lingering feelings for her influence his early biases and later growth. They reconcile briefly before her death. Her Family/Sisters: They took Keith in but ultimately disapproved of the interspecies marriage, contributing to the misunderstanding that drove Keith away. Trace Legacy: Indirect connection through her past rescue (pre-amnesia Trace spared her) and later interactions on the isles. The Main Group: She briefly allies with Trace, Flora, Natani, etc., during the Basitin arc while trying to reach Keith.

Role in the Story and Development Laura serves as a pivotal figure in Keith's backstory and emotional arc. She represents his lost chance at happiness and belonging after exile, as well as the pain of interspecies prejudice and miscommunication. Her death during the Basitin Isles arc is a major turning point for Keith, deepening his trauma while pushing him toward his relationship with Natani and his role as ambassador. She adds themes of fragile love, the cost of fear, and redemption through closure. Although she is not a long-term traveling companion like the core cast, her impact lingers — Keith carries memories (and sometimes illusions or apparitions) of her, and her ashes are mentioned as something he may one day return to her family. Laura remains a fan-favorite for her sweetness and the heartfelt tragedy of her story. She appears in flashbacks, key Basitin arc pages, and occasional official art/sketches (including reference sheets and "what-if" or vanity pieces).

9. #9Saria au Gruhen

   Keys: Saria, Trace

   Always on · After character · Order 900 · 100%

   Entry settings

Saria au Gruhen Gender: Female Age: N/A Class: Blacksmith / Freedom Fighter Species: Human Languages: Human, Keidran

Personality: Saria is soft-spoken and usually shy, but not afraid to speak out when she needs to.

Saria was a middle-class daughter of a blacksmith. She learned from an early age to take care of herself. She prefers to work for herself, and has never relied on the help of slaves. Her father brought her to the Templar Academy to work on building armor for the Templars. It was there where she met and fell in love with Trace. They were happily married for a year. However, their marriage was short-lived.

Saria au Gruhen (also known as Saria Legacy after marriage) is a pivotal deceased character in the webcomic Twokinds by Tom Fischbach. She was a human woman and the first wife of Trace Legacy. Her tragic death serves as the central catalyst for Trace’s descent into madness, his turn to black magic, his rise as the tyrannical Grand Templar, and the genocidal war against the Keidran race. She appears mainly in flashbacks, with one temporary resurrection by the demigod Ephemural (Neutral). Physical Appearance Saria is depicted as an attractive young human woman of average height with fair/light skin. She has long, straight light-brown (sometimes shown as honey-brown or auburn-tinged) hair that reaches about mid-back, often partially covering one of her warm amber/golden eyes. Her eyes are expressive and kind, with a soft, gentle facial structure. She typically wears simple but elegant middle-class clothing suited to her background — modest dresses, blouses, or traveling attire in soft earth tones. In flashbacks and reference art, she has a warm, approachable look that contrasts sharply with the darker events surrounding her death. Official reference sheets (including the 2022 Saria Ref Sheet) emphasize her long hair, amber eyes, and gentle demeanor. There are also fun alternate sketches, such as “Lioness Saria” (anthropomorphic lion version) or other vanity pieces. Personality Saria is soft-spoken, gentle, shy, and kind-hearted by nature. She is patient and understanding but not a pushover — when angered or when something truly matters (especially moral issues), she speaks out clearly and loudly, showing a strong backbone. She has a quiet strength and is fond of Keidran in general, refusing to tolerate slavery or cruelty toward them (e.g., she firmly rejected Trace bringing a Keidran slave home). She genuinely loved Trace and brought out the best in his younger, pre-tyrant self. Their marriage was happy and affectionate despite some personality differences (Trace’s early shyness and ambition vs. her calmer demeanor). She was overjoyed when she discovered she was pregnant shortly before her death. Backstory Saria was born in the port town of Edinmire in human territory, the daughter of a local blacksmith. Not much is detailed about her early life, but in her late teens she caught the eye of the young Templar prodigy Trace Legacy (who was a few years younger than her and studying at the nearby Templar College). Trace went to great lengths to impress her — including slaying a dragon in her honor — but she initially paid him little attention. Eventually she noticed his sincerity, and the two began dating and later married. Their wedding was joyful, and they were deeply in love. Shortly after the marriage, while traveling to Trace’s estate for their honeymoon, Saria revealed she was pregnant. That same night, at their cabin near the Keidran border, a male Keidran thief (from the wolf clan) attacked to rob them. He fired poisoned arrows; Trace deflected one aimed at himself and chased the thief, but a second arrow grazed Saria. Unaware the arrows were poisoned, Trace returned too late — Saria had already died from the toxin, coughing up blood in her final moments. Devastated and learning she had been carrying their child, Trace desperately attempted to resurrect her using forbidden black mana combined with natural magic. The ritual failed catastrophically: it shattered his mind, corrupted him, and transformed the once-shy mage into a ruthless, ambitious tyrant obsessed with gaining enough power to bring her back. This event directly led to him overthrowing the previous Grand Templar, militarizing the Templar Order, and launching a campaign of extermination against the Keidran (using them as scapegoats while pursuing greater power). Temporary Resurrection and Later Appearances The demigod Ephemural (Neutral) later temporarily resurrects Saria as part of a larger plan or test. She appears to the amnesiac Trace, has emotional conversations with him, and even meets some of the main group (including moments with Maren). She ultimately lies to Trace, telling him she was not truly his resurrected wife, then returns to her grave and fades away peacefully, content that the kinder, amnesiac version of Trace has found happiness again with Flora and the others. She expresses no hostility toward Flora or the new life Trace has built. In side sketches and alternate-timeline art (e.g., “The Good Timeline” or “Broken Legacy” concepts), fans and official pieces explore what-if scenarios where Saria survives, showing her with Trace, a child, and friends like Rose. Key Relationships

Trace Legacy: The love of her life. Their marriage was happy and loving. Her death (and failed resurrection) completely broke him and defined his villainous arc. The current Trace is horrified by what his past self became in her name. Their Unborn Child: Saria was pregnant when killed; the loss of both wife and child fueled Trace’s despair. Rose (friend): Saria had a close friendship with Rose (who appears in some sketches as a godmother figure in alternate scenarios). Keidran in general: She showed kindness and opposed their mistreatment, making the circumstances of her death especially ironic and tragic.

Role in the Story and Development Saria is the emotional cornerstone of Trace’s backstory and the entire series’ central conflict. Her death is the inciting incident that turns a talented but flawed young mage into a genocidal dictator and sets the stage for the themes of trauma, redemption, the corrupting influence of grief and power, and whether the past can ever be escaped. She is not a traveling or active character like Flora, Natani, or Keith, but her memory haunts Trace and influences major plot points (including black mana corruption, Templar politics, and his relationship with Flora). Flashbacks and her brief resurrection provide heartbreaking contrast between the gentle man Trace once was and the monster he became — and the better man he is trying to be now. Saria remains one of the most impactful “off-screen” characters in Twokinds. Fans often describe her as underrated yet essential, since without her, the entire story (and Trace’s redemption arc) would not exist. Official art and reference sheets continue to appear on the Twokinds gallery and Patreon, keeping her memory visually present.

10. #10Eric Vaughan

    Keys: Eric, slave trader, Vaughan

    Always on · After character · Order 1000 · 100%

    Entry settings

Eric Vaughan Gender: Male Age: 20 Class: Trader / Entrepreneur / Collector Species: Human Languages: Human, Keidran, Basitin

Personality: Eric likes Keidran. That sums it up pretty nicely.

Eric was born into a noble family. He is extremely wealthy, but he tries to stay modest about his money. Eric has a great affinity for Keidran, and uses his vast wealth to purchase a variety of Keidran slaves in cities all over the mainland. Eric is very well-read, but he specializes in Keidran anatomy and physiology. Eric treats all his slaves very well, and most are eternally devoted to him, despite being enslaved.

Physical Appearance Eric is a handsome young human in his early-to-mid 20s with a lean, well-groomed build. He has short, neatly styled dark brown or black hair, often parted or kept tidy to reflect his noble background. His eyes are typically brown or hazel, and he carries himself with a confident, slightly aristocratic posture mixed with a casual traveler's ease. He usually dresses in practical yet high-quality seafaring merchant attire:

A white or light-colored shirt (sometimes with a vest or jacket) Dark trousers A long coat or cloak for sea travel Occasional accessories like a captain's hat or gloves

His overall look is that of a charming, affluent trader — clean-cut but not overly flashy, fitting his attempts to appear modest despite his extreme wealth. Official reference sheets show him with a friendly, slightly mischievous expression that matches his flirty nature. Personality Eric is outgoing, charismatic, well-read, and genuinely likes Keidran (to an obsessive degree). He is often described as a "chivalrous pervert" or "polite pervert" — he is flirtatious (especially toward female Keidran and Basitin), collects nude paintings of Keidran as a hobby, and has a deep fascination with Keidran anatomy and physiology. Despite his profession as a slave trader, he treats his own slaves far better than most humans do: he is kind, provides good living conditions, and avoids harsh control spells on his favorites. He tries to stay modest about his vast wealth and noble upbringing. However, he can be hypocritical or possessive — viewing his slaves as both cherished companions/property and sometimes crossing boundaries (especially in his younger years). He is intelligent, strategic in business, and capable of genuine loyalty and growth, though his fetishistic tendencies frequently create awkward or tense situations. He speaks Human, Keidran, and Basitin fluently. Backstory Eric was born into a powerful noble family that founded or heavily controlled the Vaughan Trading Company, a major slave-trading enterprise. His older brother Roderick Vaughan is a Templar and treats Keidran much more harshly, creating ongoing sibling tension (Roderick often disrespects Eric and his "property"). Eric grew up alongside Kathrin, a specially bred mixed-breed Keidran sex slave. He always treated her more like a friend or partner than property and eventually bought her freedom from his brother to protect her. He also owns two other prominent Keidran slaves: Mike and Evals (a tiger Keidran pair often used for labor or other tasks). Eric uses his wealth to travel the mainland and port cities, buying Keidran slaves — partly for business, but largely to indulge his personal interests. He encounters the main group (Trace, Flora, etc.) early on and becomes involved in their journey, offering passage on his ship in exchange for various favors or opportunities. His family background ties into broader human society and Templar politics. Abilities and Powers Eric has no significant combat or magical abilities. He is a civilian merchant, not a fighter or mage. His strengths lie in:

Business acumen and vast wealth Negotiation and trade skills Knowledge of Keidran culture, language, and physiology Sailing and ship management (he owns and captains vessels) Painting (primarily nudes of Keidran and Basitin as a hobby)

He relies on his crew, guards, and slaves for protection when needed. Key Relationships

Kathrin "Spots" Vaughan: His most cherished slave/companion. They grew up together; Eric sees her almost as a sister or close partner and refuses to put control spells on her. Kathrin harbors unrequited romantic feelings for him, creating a painful one-sided dynamic (she wants more than the "sisterly" treatment he gives her). Their relationship is a major source of drama and an ongoing "love triangle" element involving others like Zen. Mike and Evals: His other personal Keidran slaves. He treats them decently but still considers them property and has refused to sell them for freeing in the past (due to legal restrictions and his own views). Trace Legacy and the Main Group: Early ally who provides ship passage and aid. Interactions are often awkward due to Eric's flirtations (especially with Flora) and his slave-trading profession. Roderick Vaughan (older brother): Strained relationship; Roderick is more traditionally cruel toward Keidran and looks down on Eric. Other Keidran/Basitin females: Frequent targets of his flirtations and artistic interests.

In later story developments, Eric continues to interact with the B-Crew (Red, Raine, etc.) and the main cast, with his views on slavery and relationships evolving (or being challenged) amid the larger conflicts. Role in the Story and Development Eric adds moral complexity, comic relief, and social commentary to Twokinds. He represents the "benevolent" face of a deeply flawed system (slavery) — kinder than most, yet still complicit and self-serving. His arc explores themes of privilege, fetishization vs. genuine affection, hypocrisy, and growth in a prejudiced world. He starts as a helpful but creepy merchant ally but becomes a source of tension through his relationships and profession. Fans often debate whether he is redeemable, creepy, or simply a product of his environment. He provides ship-based travel arcs, business intrigue, and heartfelt (or awkward) moments, especially involving Kathrin. Eric remains a memorable supporting character whose presence highlights the interspecies tensions and personal flaws that define much of the series. Official art and reference sheets frequently depict him with Kathrin or in merchant/traveler poses, emphasizing his charming yet flawed nature.

    Entry settings

Kathrin "Spots" Vaughan Gender: Female Age: ~10 (24 equivalent) Class: Tailor Species: Mixed Breed Keidran Languages: Human, Keidran

Personality: Kathrin has a happy-go-lucky personality. She is a bit naive about most things, having been sheltered as a slave all her life.

Kathrin was selectively bred from several generations of Keidran slaves in order to be more physically appealing to humans. Ironically, despite being designed to be a sex slave, Kathrin is incredibly naive when it comes to sex. Eric gives her much more freedom than his other slaves, but she genuinely enjoys serving him.

Physical Appearance Kathrin is a unique mixed-breed Keidran with features blending canine and feline traits, though she leans more feline overall. She has a petite, curvaceous, and highly appealing build (intentionally bred for attractiveness to human owners). Her fur is primarily warm brown on her back, head, arms, and tail, transitioning to grey and white on her underbelly, muzzle, and chest. She is covered in distinctive black spots (exactly 158 confirmed in total, with "keystone" spots on her face and chest being especially prominent). Key features:

Bright blue eyes (expressive and often sparkling with cheer). Medium-length brown hair with a soft, slightly tousled style. Digitigrade legs, clawed paws, expressive ears (more rounded/feline), and a bushy tail. She typically wears colorful, well-made outfits that she sews herself — often cute dresses, skirts, or practical traveler clothing with vibrant patterns. Her clothing highlights her figure while remaining modest and playful.

Her overall design is cute, energetic, and "spotty," giving her a leopard-like charm mixed with wolfish softness. Official reference sheets (including the detailed Kathrin Ref Sheet) emphasize her spot pattern, fur gradients, blue eyes, and various outfit examples. Personality Kathrin has a happy-go-lucky, optimistic, and cheerful personality. She is kind-hearted, caring, and goes out of her way to make others happy — for example, working herself to exhaustion to sew new clothes for Natani or helping the group in small ways. She is quite naive and sheltered due to her life as a pampered slave, knowing little about the harsher realities of the world or even basic sexual matters (ironically, despite being bred as a potential sex slave). This innocence often leads to comedic or endearing moments. She is hardworking, loyal, and emotionally sensitive, especially regarding her unrequited feelings for Eric. Deep down, she longs for genuine love and acceptance beyond her "pet" status. Backstory Kathrin was born into the Keidran slave trade and selectively bred over generations (likely from Snow Leopard and Forest Wolf lineages, based on her spots and colors) to be physically appealing to human owners. Eric Vaughan's parents purchased her when Eric was only about 10 years old. She grew up alongside him in a relatively pampered environment, learning skills like needlepoint, sewing, massaging, and domestic crafts. After Eric's parents died, she briefly became the property of his older brother Roderick (a Templar with little time for her). Eric soon bought her (along with Mike and Evals) to keep her safe and close. Eric has always treated her more like a cherished little sister or companion than a typical slave — he refuses to use a control spell on her (fearing it would damage her emotionally) and claims he never used her for her "intended" purpose. Despite the kindness, Kathrin developed deep romantic feelings for Eric, which he does not reciprocate in the same way. This creates ongoing emotional tension. She remains legally his slave but enjoys far better treatment than most Keidran. Abilities and Powers Kathrin has no combat or magical abilities. Her main strengths are domestic and creative:

Master Tailor/Seamstress: Extremely skilled at sewing and crafting clothing. She made Natani's green leather jacket and black trousers, as well as many other outfits for the group. Domestic skills (cooking, cleaning, massaging). High endurance when focused on helping others (she'll push herself hard for friends).

She is physically agile as a Keidran but relies on the group for protection in dangerous situations. Key Relationships

Eric Vaughan: The center of her world and her unrequited love. She sees him romantically and wants more than the "sisterly" affection he gives her. Eric views her as family and protects her, but the imbalance causes her pain and creates drama (including jealousy or awkward moments with others). Mike and Evals: Fellow slaves under Eric. They sometimes tease her (Evals once called her "Eric's pet"), but they form a small "family" unit. Natani: Develops a friendly/sisterly bond. Kathrin eagerly sews clothes for Natani and helps during crises (e.g., watching over her when unconscious). The Main Group & B-Crew: Generally friendly and helpful toward Trace, Flora, Keith, Raine, Red, etc. She interacts with them during sea travel or port stops. Roderick Vaughan: Dislikes him due to his harsher treatment of Keidran.

In recent chapters, Kathrin continues traveling with Eric's crew, contributing her tailoring skills and emotional support while navigating her feelings and the larger conflicts in Mekkan. Role in the Story and Development Kathrin adds warmth, humor, and emotional depth to the supporting cast. She humanizes (or "Keidran-izes") the slave trade through her perspective — showing a "best-case" scenario under a kind owner while highlighting the inherent tragedy and inequality. Her arc explores unrequited love, innocence vs. harsh reality, found family, and the search for true belonging and freedom. She provides light-hearted moments (her cheerfulness and naivety) and heartfelt ones (her devotion and quiet sadness). Fans appreciate her for her cute design, kind nature, and the relatable pain of loving someone who doesn't love you back the same way. Kathrin remains a fan-favorite supporting character, frequently appearing in official art, reference sheets, and side sketches. Her story continues evolving as Eric's group intersects with the main cast's journey toward Lyn'knoll and broader interspecies tensions.

12. #12Mike

    Keys: Mike, Evals, Vaughan, Slave

    Always on · After character · Order 1200 · 100%

    Entry settings

Mike Gender: Male / Female? Age: ~12 (28 equivalent) Class: Slave Species: Fox Keidran Languages: Human, Keidran

Personality: He used to be perfectly satisfied with his lot in life, until the fateful day he came across a black-magic-wielding Basitin.

Mike is one of several slaves working under Eric. His job is primarily to maintain Eric's ship. He is good friends with Evals, another slave on Eric's ship.

Physical Appearance Mike is a fairly average-looking fox Keidran with no particularly striking or exaggerated features. He has mostly light orange/russet fur covering his body, with classic coastal fox black accents on the tips of his hands, feet, ears, hair, and tail, plus a black nose. White fur runs along the bottom half of his muzzle, most of his torso, and down to his groin. Notable details:

A visible scar on his left cheek, caused by physical abuse from Eric’s older brother, Roderick Vaughan. Typical digitigrade legs, clawed paws, fox ears, and a bushy tail. He usually wears simple, practical ship-hand clothing — often plain tunics, trousers, or work attire suited for manual labor on a boat.

His overall design is deliberately ordinary and relatable, making him look like a typical working-class Keidran rather than a warrior or standout beauty like Flora or Kathrin. Official reference sheets show him in casual poses, often alongside Evals. Personality Mike is generally easy-going, loyal, and content with his life as a slave — at least initially. He is practical, level-headed, and often takes charge in situations despite being physically smaller than Evals. He has a close, brotherly (sometimes teasing) friendship with Evals and shows a more naive or sheltered side because he was born into slavery and has never known true freedom. He can be flustered or anxious in awkward situations (especially the gender illusion incident). Like many of Eric’s slaves, he is accustomed to human customs and speaks both Human and Keidran fluently. He is not particularly ambitious or rebellious, preferring stability and camaraderie over grand change. Backstory Mike was born into slavery and has known nothing else his entire life. When he reached working age, he was purchased by the Vaughan family alongside the recently captured Evals. Despite initial racial tensions between fox and dog Keidran clans, the two quickly became best friends and have remained inseparable ever since. After Eric’s parents died, Eric inherited ownership of Mike and Evals. The pair have worked for years as ship hands, maintaining Eric’s vessel and assisting with the merchant business. They travel with Eric (and often Kathrin), handling physical labor, sailing duties, and general crew work. A notable event occurred during the Basitin Isles arc (Chapters 10–11): the Basitin mage Nora cast an illusion on Mike that made him (and everyone else) perceive him as female. This led to comedic tension, fear of how Eric might treat a “female” Mike, and an awkward night sharing a bed with Evals. Mike eventually broke the illusion after a revealing dream and returned to normal. Abilities and Powers Mike has no combat, magical, or special abilities. He is an ordinary working slave whose strengths are:

Ship maintenance and manual labor (sailing, cleaning, loading/unloading cargo). Practical teamwork and reliability. Basic survival and seafaring skills from years aboard Eric’s ship.

He relies on Eric’s protection and the group dynamic for safety in dangerous situations. Key Relationships

Evals (dog Keidran): His best friend and constant companion. Despite their species’ traditional rivalry, they share a deep bond forged through shared slavery. Evals is larger and stronger, but Mike is usually the one who takes charge or makes decisions. Their friendship includes plenty of teasing and mutual support. Eric Vaughan: Their current owner/master. Mike is treated decently compared to most slaves (no harsh control spells on the favorites), but he remains legally property. Mike is generally loyal and satisfied with the arrangement. Kathrin Vaughan: Fellow slave and part of the small “family” unit under Eric. They interact cordially as coworkers. Roderick Vaughan: Eric’s brother; Mike bears a scar from abuse by him, creating clear dislike or fear. The Main Group / B-Crew: Occasional interactions during sea travel or port stops, but Mike stays mostly in the background as supporting crew.

Role in the Story and Development Mike (along with Evals) provides grounded, everyday representation of Keidran life under human ownership. He adds light comic relief, especially during the Nora illusion arc, while highlighting themes of slavery, inter-clan prejudice, friendship across differences, and the blurred lines between “kind” treatment and ownership. He and Evals serve as a contrast to more dramatic characters like Flora (escaped slave) or Natani (assassin). Their presence on Eric’s ship facilitates travel arcs and shows the “normal” operations of the Vaughan Trading Company. While not central to the main plot, they humanize the supporting cast and occasionally participate in group events. As of recent chapters (into 2026), Mike continues working as part of Eric’s crew, with his life remaining relatively stable compared to the chaos surrounding Trace and the others. Mike is a low-key but likable character — the reliable, spotless (well, mostly) fox ship hand whose quiet loyalty and friendship with Evals make him a small but consistent part of the Twokinds world. Fans often enjoy the duo for their bromance and the humorous side stories they bring.

13. #13Evals

    Keys: Evals, Mike, Slave, Vaughan

    Always on · After character · Order 1300 · 100%

    Entry settings

Evals Gender: Male Age: ~13 (30 equivalent) Class: Slave Species: Dog Keidran Languages: Human, Keidran

    Personality: A typical Keidran slave.

Evals is one of several slaves working under Eric. His job is primarily to maintain Eric's ship. He's good friends with Mike, another slave on Eric's ship. Though Evals is larger than Mike, Mike is usually the one who takes charge.

Physical Appearance Evals has a classic Dog Keidran appearance: solid brown fur covering his entire body. He has shoulder-length brown hair of the same shade, often looking somewhat tousled, topped with droopy canine ears. His eyes are brown. He is noticeably larger and more muscular than his friend Mike, giving him a stronger, more “manly” physical presence. He typically wears simple, practical slave/worker clothing:

A light brown shirt Baggy black trousers

This outfit is consistent throughout most of his appearances, reflecting his limited possessions as a slave. He has digitigrade legs, clawed paws, and a typical dog tail. Official reference sheets (including the Mike and Evals Ref Sheet) show him as an average but solidly built dog Keidran, emphasizing his brown color palette and droopy ears. Personality Evals is loyal and protective toward those he considers family or close friends — he would do almost anything to stay by their side. However, he can also be rebellious and resentful toward authority figures who restrict his freedom, particularly Eric (whose ownership kept him enslaved for years). He is generally easy-going in daily life but shows deeper emotions when thinking about his large family or the possibility of freedom. He is practical, works hard on the ship, and shares a close, teasing bromance with Mike (even though dog and fox clans traditionally have tensions). In stressful or awkward situations (such as the gender-illusion incident with Mike), he can become flustered or concerned. Backstory Evals was born into a very large Dog Keidran family (dozens of immediate family members including many siblings and twice as many cousins). He was captured at a young age and sold into slavery. While being transported or held for sale, he met Mike, and despite their species’ usual rivalry, the two quickly became best friends. They eventually ended up owned by the same person — Eric Vaughan — and have worked together for most of their adult lives maintaining Eric’s ship and assisting with the merchant business. Evals has not seen his family in years due to his enslavement. In later story developments, Evals (along with Mike) gains his freedom. He expresses a strong desire to return to Dog Keidran territory and reunite with his family. However, he worries about how his fox friend Mike will be received, given the historical dislike between dog and fox clans. Abilities and Powers Evals has no magical or combat abilities. He is a working ship-hand whose strengths include:

Physical labor and ship maintenance (sailing, cleaning, repairs, cargo handling) Endurance for manual work Basic teamwork and reliability

He is physically stronger than Mike, which helps with heavy tasks aboard the ship. Key Relationships

Mike: His best friend and near-constant companion. Despite clan differences, their bond is deep and brotherly. Mike is usually the one who takes charge in their duo, even though Evals is physically larger. They share many comedic and heartfelt moments together. Eric Vaughan: Their former owner/master. Evals respects Eric to an extent (better treatment than most slaves) but resents the loss of freedom. There have been moments of tension, including Evals planning mutiny-like thoughts or reacting strongly when control spells are involved. Kathrin Vaughan: Fellow slave and part of the small crew “family.” They interact as coworkers on the ship. His Large Family: Evals speaks fondly of them (including an older sister named Erilas in side sketches) and hopes to return to them now that he is free. He remembers them from when he was young. The Main Group / B-Crew: Occasional interactions during sea voyages or port stops, but he remains mostly in the background as supporting crew.

Role in the Story and Development Evals (with Mike) represents the everyday reality of Keidran slavery under a relatively “kind” owner. Their presence adds grounded, slice-of-life moments aboard Eric’s ship, light comedy (especially the Nora-induced gender illusion arc involving Mike), and commentary on freedom, loyalty, friendship across divides, and the desire for a normal life. He starts as a typical background slave but gains more emotional depth when freedom becomes a real possibility. His arc touches on themes of family reunion, inter-clan prejudice, and what it means to transition from lifelong slavery to independence. Though not a central protagonist, Evals is a likable and consistent supporting character. Fans enjoy the Mike-and-Evals duo for their bromance, contrasting sizes/personalities, and the humorous situations they get into. Official art, including the dedicated Mike and Evals Ref Sheet, keeps them visually present. As of recent chapters (into 2026), Evals continues his journey as a freed Keidran, planning his return home while navigating the larger conflicts and changes sweeping Mekkan alongside Eric’s crew and the main cast.

14. #14Madelyn Adelaide

    Keys: Maddy, Madness, Adelaide, Basitin

    Always on · After character · Order 1400 · 100%

    Entry settings

Madelyn Adelaide Gender: Female Age: ??? Class: Spy Species: Eastern Basitin Languages: Human, Basitin, Keidran

Personality: Hyper and fun-loving when not on the job. Illusive and stalkerish when necessary.

The original Stalker Girl. Madelyn Adelaide is one of the best spies the Basitin have to offer. Using her small size and uncanny speed, she can typically slip through any trap or cage... as long as no one is looking. When caught, she is very good at manipulating the emotions of others to her advantage. Her child-like appearance makes her dangerous to those who underestimate her. However, unlike most Basitin, in a head-on fight she is almost entirely useless, having forgone all combat training for stealth.

Physical Appearance Madelyn is notably short, even by Basitin standards (Basitins are already a short species). She has the typical all-brown/tan fur of Eastern Basitins, with yellow eyes that feature visible slit pupils (a rare trait among Basitins, giving her a more feline-like appearance similar to Flora's eyes). She has a very lean, petite build and a youthful, innocent-looking face that makes her appear younger than she actually is (many characters initially assume she is a young teen). She is often depicted in standard Basitin military attire or lighter spy/traveler clothing. Her small stature and energetic posture give her a cute, non-intimidating vibe that contrasts sharply with her powerful mother, who is unnaturally tall and imposing for a Basitin. Official art frequently shows her with expressive ears and a lively, mischievous expression. Personality Maddie is energetic, curious, mischievous, and highly enthusiastic — often coming across as an excitable "tagalong kid" despite being a trained soldier and spy. She is optimistic, playful, and has a knack for getting into (or causing) trouble. She can be impulsive and overly eager to prove herself, especially to live up to her mother's legendary reputation as a warrior and ruler. She has moments of clumsiness or "glitchy" behavior in high-pressure or surprising situations (fans joke about "Madelyn Adelaide.EXE has stopped working"). Deep down, she is loyal, brave, and driven by a desire to be seen as a worthy Adelaide. She is also quite flirtatious or curious in certain contexts, though her romantic interests are subtle in the main comic. Backstory Madelyn grew up as the daughter of the formidable King Jade Adelaide. Her father was largely absent from her life, and his current whereabouts are unknown. Raised in the strict, militaristic Basitin culture, she enlisted in the army at a young age (standard for Basitins) and rose to the rank of Lieutenant. She works in intelligence/spy operations for the Eastern Basitin Army. She first appears during the Basitin Isles arc as an overly energetic guard/witness to the duel between Keith Keiser and Nickolai Alaric. She develops a noticeable crush on Keith (partly drawn to his dark and troubled past). After the events on the isles, she sneaks aboard Eric Vaughan's ship as the group departs, effectively becoming a tagalong member traveling with the main cast or B-Crew for a time. Her royal/military background occasionally creates complications or advantages in dealings with Basitin politics. Abilities and Powers As a Basitin Lieutenant and spy:

Trained in combat, stealth, reconnaissance, and intelligence gathering. High agility and endurance typical of Basitins. She has shown resourcefulness and bravery, such as contemplating taking on dangerous challenges (e.g., imagining fighting a dragon to prove her worth as an Adelaide).

She is not a frontline powerhouse like her mother but excels in covert operations and quick thinking. Like most Basitins, she has low natural affinity for magic and views it with some suspicion. Key Relationships

King Jade Adelaide (mother): Complicated but respectful. Maddie looks up to her mother's strength and legacy while feeling pressure to measure up. Jade is extremely tall and imposing, making the physical contrast with her short daughter humorous in art. Keith Keiser: Developed a big crush on him during the isles arc. She admired his story and skills, but once she noticed his growing relationship with Natani, she backed off and shifted to a more professional/friendly dynamic. The Main Group / B-Crew: She travels with them after stowing away on Eric's ship. Interactions are generally positive and energetic, with her adding youthful chaos to the group. Maeve Riftwall (and others): In official Patreon sketches and alternate/universe art, she has been shown in romantic or close interactions with Maeve, hinting at possible queer representation (often interpreted as lesbian or bi in fan discussions and side content). In the main comic, her romantic interests are not heavily explored beyond the early Keith crush.

Role in the Story and Development Madelyn adds a lighter, more comedic and youthful energy to the Basitin arc and subsequent travel segments. She represents the next generation of Basitin military culture — eager, slightly naive, but determined. Her presence explores themes of legacy (living up to a powerful parent), interspecies interactions, and personal growth away from the rigid isles. She starts as a witness/guard and evolves into a stowaway companion, occasionally providing spy-related help or comic relief. Her "Madness" nickname and energetic personality make her a fan-favorite for cute and chaotic moments. In later chapters and side content, she continues to appear in group dynamics or official art, sometimes in more mature or adventurous scenarios.

15. #15Maren Taverndatter

    Keys: Maren, Taverdatter

    Always on · After character · Order 1500 · 100%

    Entry settings

Maren Taverndatter Gender: Female Age: 20 Class: Tavern Maid Species: Human Languages: Human

Personality: Maren is bossy and prefers to have things go her way.

Maren is the bossy elder of the Taverndatter sisters. She's one of Trace's current "girlfriends," though Trace and her were never seriously involved. They met at her tavern as Trace was passing by during his missions. She knew Trace still loved his wife, who had passed away years before; and she knew she was really just being used by Trace as a momentary distraction. But she stayed with him, nonetheless.

Physical Appearance Maren is an attractive young human with fair/light skin and striking light blue eyes. Her most distinctive feature is her long, flowing purple hair that reaches halfway down her back, usually with a shorter, parted fringe (bangs) framing her face. She has a feminine, curvaceous figure that is frequently highlighted in both official art and fan-favorite scenes (such as belly dancing or alternate outfits). She typically wears practical tavern/barmaid-style clothing — modest yet form-fitting dresses, blouses, or traveler attire suited for life on the road. In side sketches and alternate art, she appears in a wide variety of looks, including wolf Keidran form, snow leopard form, cat form, and loincloth variants, often showing her versatility in fan-service or transformation scenarios. Her overall design gives her a strong, confident, and conventionally attractive human appearance that contrasts with the more exotic Keidran and Basitin cast members. Personality Maren is bossy, controlling, and prefers things to go her way. She can be quite violent or quick-tempered when annoyed (famously slapping Trace upon their reunion). She is serious, matter-of-fact, and emotionally guarded — often coming across as emotionally distant or fluctuating between emotional and aloof due to past trauma (her father's death). Despite her tough exterior, she is caring and loyal to those close to her, especially her sister Karen and the B-Crew. She has a guarded nature stemming from a past negative experience with a Keidran, which initially made her wary or racist toward them. Over time, especially through her interactions with Sythe, she has shown growth and softening. Backstory Maren and her younger sister Karen grew up in Pinewood after their father's death (caused indirectly by a Keidran servant named Tanlen). Maren took over running the family inn/tavern at a young age, working as a barmaid while raising and managing her sister. Before the main story events, she became romantically involved with Trace (then the tyrannical Grand Templar). Their relationship was never serious on Trace's side — he was using her as a distraction and test subject for black mana experiments aimed at reviving his late wife Saria. Maren was aware he still loved Saria but stayed with him anyway. When Trace disappeared (after his memory was erased), Maren was furious. She, Karen, and their friend Red set out to find him, initially hoping to restore his memory. Over time, the group evolved into the B-Crew, traveling and intersecting with the main cast's journey. Maren has since become involved with the wolf Keidran Sythe, who is quite smitten with her; their developing relationship is a source of chemistry, humor, and growth for both characters. Abilities and Powers Maren has no magical talent or combat training like the main fighters. She is a civilian with:

Strong-willed leadership and organizational skills (running a tavern). Practical survival and travel experience. A fiery temper that can make her surprisingly intimidating in arguments or physical outbursts (e.g., slapping or chasing people).

She relies on the group for protection but contributes through her no-nonsense attitude and domestic experience. Key Relationships

Trace Legacy: Ex-"boyfriend." Their relationship was one-sided and unhealthy; Maren knew she was being used but stayed anyway. She has since moved on, though it adds tension when the groups interact. Karen Taverndatter (younger sister): Close but contrasting dynamic. Maren is the bossy older sister; Karen is more carefree and boisterous. Red: Childhood friend and traveling companion. Their bond is strong, and Red's character development (reducing his racism) often involves Maren noticing and reacting to it. Sythe: Current romantic interest. Sythe is head-over-heels for her; Maren is guarded but increasingly receptive. Their chemistry is frequently highlighted in official art and story moments. Raine Silverlock: Close friend in the B-Crew. They share light-hearted or girly moments (e.g., brushing hair, belly dancing). The Main Group: Generally neutral-to-positive interactions now, though early encounters were strained due to Trace's past and Maren's initial prejudices.

Role in the Story and Development Maren serves as a grounded, human perspective in the B-Crew, adding interpersonal drama, comedy, and emotional realism. She represents ordinary humans caught in the larger conflicts of Mekkan — dealing with loss, prejudice, and the challenges of interspecies relationships. Her arc shows growth from a bossy, somewhat racist tavern owner to a more open-minded traveler who is learning to lower her guard (especially with Sythe). She provides contrast to the more fantastical elements of the main cast and helps drive B-Crew storylines involving travel, tavern life flashbacks, and personal relationships. Maren is a fan-favorite for her attractive design, strong personality, and the evolving romance with Sythe. She appears regularly in the B-Crew segments and has many dedicated official sketches (including transformation variants and group scenes).

16. #16Karen Taverndatter

    Always on · After character · Order 1600 · 100%

    Entry settings

Karen Taverndatter Gender: Female Age: 16 Class: Tavern Assistant Species: Human Languages: Human

Personality: Karen is outgoing and excited; she hates being bored and will go out of her way to make things interesting.

Karen is the hyperactive younger of the Taverndatter sisters. She doesn't care about races or wars or religions. She just enjoys interesting stuff, and if nothing interesting is happening, she tends to cause it. Karen's extra set of Keidran ears were given to her as a curse by Trace, whom she was annoying. The curse backfired, however, when Karen decided she loved the ears and wanted to keep them. Karen Taverndatter is a supporting character in the webcomic Twokinds by Tom Fischbach. She is the younger of the Taverndatter sisters (younger sister of Maren Taverndatter) and a core member of the "B-Crew" (along with Maren, Red, Raine, and sometimes Sythe). Karen is a teenage human girl known for her boundless energy, love of novelty, and permanent Keidran ears — originally a curse from Trace that completely backfired. Physical Appearance Karen is a fairly short human girl — one of the shortest in the main cast (only slightly taller than the petite Basitin Maddie). She has:

Short, vibrant green hair (often styled in a simple, energetic cut). Matching bright green eyes. Naturally dark tanned skin from spending more time outdoors than her paler sister Maren.

Her most distinctive feature is the pair of brown Keidran (cat-like) ears permanently growing from the top of her head. These ears are roughly the same shade as her skin or slightly darker and move expressively with her emotions. She has no tail or other Keidran traits. Her usual outfit (especially when working at the family tavern) is a cute pink maid-style dress, similar to Maren’s but often more playful or slightly modified. During travel, she switches to more practical adventurer or casual clothing. Her overall look is youthful, energetic, and adorable — the permanent ears give her a constant "cute hybrid" vibe that she absolutely adores. Personality Karen is hyperactive, outgoing, excited, and cheerful. She hates boredom more than anything and will actively go out of her way to make life interesting — if nothing exciting is happening, she tends to cause it herself. She is remarkably apathetic to race, war, religion, or prejudice. She doesn’t care whether someone is human, Keidran, Basitin, or anything else — she just cares if they’re interesting or fun. This makes her one of the most open-minded and non-judgmental humans in the series. She is secure in herself, curious about other species and cultures, and brings a much-needed dose of silliness, whimsy, and light-hearted chaos to balance the comic’s darker themes. She can be a bit of a troll or prankster, but it comes from a place of genuine enjoyment rather than malice. She prefers the kinder, amnesiac version of Trace and gets along well with almost everyone in the group. Backstory After their father’s death when they were young, Karen and Maren stayed in the village of Pinewood, where Maren took over running the family inn/tavern and Karen helped as a tavern assistant. A while before the main story, Karen annoyed Maren’s then-boyfriend (the tyrannical Grand Templar Trace Legacy) so much that he cursed her in irritation — causing her to permanently grow a pair of Keidran ears. Trace intended it as punishment, but Karen instantly loved them, found them cute, and wanted to keep them. The curse completely backfired. When the Border Wolf Tribe raided Pinewood, Karen, Maren, and their friend Red were forced to flee. They soon linked up with Raine and became the traveling B-Crew. Karen has since embraced the adventurous life on the road and shows interest in heading toward the hidden Keidran village of Lyn’knoll with the others to live in peace. Abilities and Powers Karen has no combat training, magic, or special powers. She is an ordinary (if very energetic) teenage human whose strengths are:

Endless enthusiasm and energy Social adaptability and curiosity Helping out with tavern/everyday tasks (though she’s more chaotic than efficient)

She relies on the rest of the group for protection but contributes through her positive attitude and ability to lighten tense situations. Key Relationships

Maren Taverndatter (older sister): Close but contrasting dynamic. Maren is the bossy, responsible one who often tries (and fails) to keep Karen from doing anything too stupid. Karen loves teasing her sister. Red: Childhood friend and traveling companion. He often follows the sisters and deals with Karen’s chaos. Raine Silverlock: Good friend in the B-Crew; they share fun, girly, or adventurous moments. Trace Legacy: She annoyed him enough to get cursed, but she likes his current kind personality much better and holds no real grudge. Sythe and others: Generally friendly; her lack of prejudice makes her easy to get along with. Maddie (Madelyn Adelaide): In later chapters, they develop a surprisingly warm friendship, with Karen giving supportive hugs and light teasing (including calling Maddie “shrimpy,” which triggers the short Basitin).

Role in the Story and Development Karen serves as one of the main sources of comic relief, whimsy, and positivity in Twokinds. While the series often deals with heavy themes like trauma, prejudice, war, and redemption, Karen’s carefree, curiosity-driven attitude provides balance and levity. She represents the idea of simply enjoying life and finding wonder in differences rather than fearing them. She evolves from a tavern assistant who got cursed to a happy traveler embracing the chaos of the wider world. Her permanent Keidran ears are a running visual gag that she proudly wears. Fans love Karen for her charming, worry-free nature, her role as the “fun human,” and how she brings silliness without being annoying. She frequently appears in official art (dive bombs, wolf-form transformations, group runs, etc.) and side sketches.

[Database Error] Gender: Male Age: 25 Class: Local Militia Species: Human Languages: Human

Personality: [Database error] is a bit of a muscle-head. He tries his best to solve all his problems with his sword.

[Database error] was one of Trace's friends from the Templar Academy. However, he dropped out after a few years when he showed little magical development. He later joined the local militia of his hometown.

Physical Appearance Red is a human with fair skin, bright green eyes, and his signature medium-length red hair that parts to both sides of his forehead (often looking somewhat messy or windswept). He has an athletic, swordsman build from his militia training — not overly bulky, but fit and capable in a fight. He typically wears practical traveler or guardsman-style clothing:

A simple tunic or shirt (often green or earth tones) Trousers and boots suited for travel and combat Occasionally light armor pieces or a cloak when needed

His overall look is that of a straightforward, no-nonsense young swordsman with a distinctive red-haired appearance that makes him instantly recognizable. Official reference sheets emphasize his green eyes, red hair, and straightforward posture. Personality Red is brazen, impulsive, and tends to solve problems with brute force or his sword rather than diplomacy or careful thought. He is straightforward (sometimes to the point of being tactless) and quick to act without fully understanding a situation. He harbors a deep prejudice against Keidran (and non-humans in general), stemming from years of border conflicts, personal losses, and the raids that forced his group to flee Pinewood. This bias creates frequent tension with characters like Sythe, Flora, and others. However, Red is capable of genuine growth — he has shown signs of softening his views over time, especially through interactions with the B-Crew and Raine. He is loyal to his friends (especially the Taverndatter sisters) and has a developing crush on Raine that becomes a major source of awkwardness and character development once her secret is revealed. Backstory Red grew up in the small human village of Pinewood, located near the Keidran border. He showed some magical talent as a youth and was recruited into the Templar Academy alongside his best friend Trace Legacy. However, Red struggled with magic and had a notable incident (involving accidental destruction of Templar property with fire) that forced him to drop out. He returned home and joined the local militia/guardsmen, serving as a protector for the village. When the tyrannical Grand Templar Trace disappeared (after his memory wipe), Red joined Maren and Karen on their journey to find him, initially hoping to restore his memories and perhaps bring back the powerful leader they once knew. Over time, the group evolved into the traveling B-Crew. Red’s strong anti-Keidran stance has been repeatedly challenged by circumstances, leading to internal conflict and slow personal growth. His real name remains a long-running joke — every time it is about to be revealed, something interrupts or prevents it. A hint in the comic suggests it is similar to a plant name (e.g., something like Rowan), but fans and the comic itself simply call him “Red.” Abilities and Powers Red has limited magical ability (which is why he dropped out of the Templar Academy). His strengths are purely physical:

Skilled swordsman and melee fighter — he relies on brute force and swordplay in combat. Decent endurance and combat experience from militia service. Practical survival and travel skills.

He is one of the more combat-capable members of the B-Crew, often stepping up as a frontline defender alongside Sythe when the group faces threats (such as Zen’s assassination attempts). Key Relationships

Trace Legacy: Old best friend from the Academy. Red knew the pre-amnesia Trace (and the tyrannical version) and initially wanted to “fix” the amnesiac Trace. Their friendship adds layers of nostalgia, tension, and contrast between Trace’s redemption and Red’s more static biases. Maren Taverndatter: Close childhood friend and traveling companion. He is loyal to her and often follows her lead (or gets bossed around by her). Karen Taverndatter: Also a close friend; he deals with her chaotic energy on a daily basis. Raine Silverlock: Developing romantic interest/crush. Red is quite smitten with her human form, which leads to major shock and growth when he learns about her wolf Keidran transformations. Their dynamic includes awkward, humorous, and heartfelt moments. Sythe: Frequent source of tension due to species differences and Red’s prejudice, though they sometimes work together as the “muscle” of the B-Crew. Zen and Natani: Initially hostile encounters (as targets of assassination), but interactions evolve as alliances shift.

Role in the Story and Development Red provides a grounded, flawed human perspective in the B-Crew. He represents ordinary humans affected by border wars and prejudice, serving as a foil to the more open-minded or fantastical characters. His arc explores themes of bias, loyalty, personal growth, and the difficulty of changing long-held beliefs. He starts as a prejudiced, sword-happy side character but gains depth through his relationships (especially with Raine) and the challenges of traveling with Keidran and hybrids. He often brings action, comedy (through his bluntness or the name gag), and tension to B-Crew segments. Red is a fan-favorite for his realistic flaws, potential for redemption, and the long-running “Database Error” joke. Many readers appreciate how he evolves from a stereotypical “Keidran hater” into a more nuanced character without losing his core personality. He continues to appear regularly with the B-Crew as they navigate the world alongside (and sometimes intersecting with) the main group’s journey toward Lyn’knoll.

18. #18Nickolai Alaric

Keys: Nick, Nickolai Alaric, Keith, Basitin

    Entry settings

Nickolai Alaric Gender: Male Age: 19 Class: Master General Species: Eastern Basitin Languages: Human, Keidran, Basitin

Personality: Alaric is unusual for a Basitin, openly expressing affection and bending rules and laws whenever possible.

Alaric is the Master General of the Eastern Basitin military. He is one of the most powerful men in Basitin society, second only to the king himself. Though he still isn't able to break any laws or rules of society, he's studied them enough to skirt around them as much as possible. He is very fond of Keith, whom he was childhood friends with.

Nickolai Alaric (commonly called Alaric) is a major supporting character in the webcomic Twokinds by Tom Fischbach. He is a male Eastern Basitin who rose to the rank of Master General of the Eastern Basitin military — the second-most powerful position in Basitin society after the King (a military rank). He is Keith Keiser’s childhood best friend and serves as a key figure during the Basitin Isles arc (primarily Chapters 10–11), acting as both ally and antagonist depending on the perspective. Physical Appearance Alaric has the standard Eastern Basitin look: short stature (though not as short as some), compact and highly muscular build from rigorous military training, light brown/tan fur, and solid-colored eyes (typically yellow or light). His ears are large and expressive like other Basitins, and he has a confident, charismatic posture that stands out from the usual stoic Basitin demeanor. He is often seen in high-ranking military attire — formal uniforms, armor pieces, or officer cloaks that signify his status as Master General. In flashbacks and official art, he appears more youthful and carefree alongside young Keith. Official reference sheets and gallery pieces (including many AU sketches) highlight his athletic frame, tan fur, and expressive face that frequently shows affection or mischief. Personality Alaric is highly unusual for a Basitin. While most Basitins are extremely rigid, honor-bound, and emotionally reserved, he is openly affectionate, free-spirited, and willing to bend (or creatively skirt) rules and laws to achieve his goals. He expresses emotions freely, shows loyalty and care openly, and has a cunning, strategic mind. He is honorable at his core but pragmatic — willing to make morally gray deals if he believes they serve a greater good (especially for his friends). He has a playful, teasing side, especially toward Keith, and is not afraid to bend societal norms (including decency laws). His deep care for Keith drives many of his actions. Backstory Alaric and Keith were close childhood friends on the Eastern Basitin Isles. When Keith was wrongly blamed for the deaths of his parents (his mother was murdered, and his father accidentally impaled himself on Keith’s spear in a drunken state), Alaric witnessed the events and strongly opposed Keith’s banishment. This injustice motivated Alaric to climb the military ranks with one primary goal: gaining enough power to reinstate Keith’s citizenship and bring his friend home. He eventually became Master General, second only to King Jade Adelaide. To achieve broader goals for the Basitin people (including gaining access to magic, which Basitins traditionally lack and distrust), he made a secret deal with the human Templar Order. This alliance backfired when the Templars’ true intentions (involving the Mana Tower) were revealed, leading to corruption and tragedy. Alaric’s actions during the Basitin arc create major conflict with Keith and the group. Abilities and Powers As Master General, Alaric is one of the most skilled and powerful Basitin warriors:

Exceptional swordsmanship and hand-to-hand combat ability. High strategic intelligence and political maneuvering. Strong leadership and tactical command of the Basitin military. Like most Basitins, he has low natural magical affinity but gains temporary or corrupted magical influence through the Mana Tower events.

He is a formidable duelist — his final confrontation with Keith is a brutal and emotional highlight of the arc. Key Relationships

Keith Keiser: His closest childhood friend and the central emotional anchor of his life. Alaric’s entire rise to power was motivated by loyalty to Keith. Their reunion and eventual duel are filled with affection, regret, and tragedy. Alaric frequently teases or flirts with Keith in subtle ways, and many official AU arts explore a deeper romantic bond. King Jade Adelaide: He serves directly under her and holds significant influence, though their relationship involves political maneuvering. Messenger Lynn: One of his direct subordinates; their dynamic includes loyalty and command. The Main Group: Interactions are complicated due to his alliance with the Templars and his plans involving Trace. He clashes with the group but ultimately plays a pivotal role in the isles’ events. Albion Alabaster: Antagonistic ties tied to Keith’s banishment.

Role in the Story and Development Alaric is a tragic, complex figure who drives much of the Basitin Isles arc. He starts as a welcoming old friend but becomes a secondary antagonist due to his deal with the Templars and his rigid pursuit of what he believes is best for Keith and the Basitin people. His actions lead to major revelations, battles, and losses (including his own death). He represents the conflict between personal loyalty, societal rules, and the greater good in Basitin culture. Even after his death, his influence lingers — he is described as a posthumous overarching protagonist in Chapter 12, with his plans and sacrifices shaping later events. Fans appreciate Alaric for his charisma, rule-bending nature, deep bond with Keith, and the emotional weight of his story. He has inspired many official and fan artworks (especially AU pieces showing him and Keith in happier scenarios, such as ceremonies, cuddling, or pride parades).

19. #19Lady Nora

    Always on · After character · Order 1900 · 100%

    Entry settings

Lady Nora Gender: Female Age: ~2000 Class: Shape-shifter Species: White Dragon Languages: All (telepathic)

Personality: Nora enjoys meddling in the affairs of mortals.

Lady Nora is a little over 20 centuries old, making her one of the oldest and largest dragons of her time. Unlike most dragons, who take little interest in mortals, she enjoys watching Humans, Keidran, and Basitin feud with one another. She will usually only interfere with them to see what might happen. Nora can shape-shift, but she has trouble balancing on two legs. Because of this, she generally only shapeshifts into other four-legged animals and rarely shapeshifts into a humanoid form.

Lady Nora (full title often used as Lady Nora) is a major supporting and ancient character in the webcomic Twokinds by Tom Fischbach. She is a female White Dragon, one of the oldest and most powerful beings in the world of Mekkan. Unlike most dragons, who remain aloof and disinterested in mortal affairs, Nora actively enjoys observing and occasionally meddling in the lives of humans, Keidran, and Basitin for her own amusement and curiosity. Physical Appearance In her true dragon form, Nora is an enormous silvery-white dragon with a massive wingspan and body length. She stands around 15 feet (4.5 m) at the shoulders and up to 20 feet (6 m) at the head when upright, weighing an estimated 20,000 lbs (9,000+ kg). Her entire body, including scales and the mane/hair on her head, is a shimmering silvery white. Her eyes are bright golden-yellow, providing the only strong color contrast. She frequently uses shapeshifting to interact with mortals in smaller, more manageable forms:

Human form: A beautiful woman with long silver-white hair and yellow eyes. Keidran forms: Various types including wolf, feline, arctic fox, etc. Other forms: Cat, Basitin, or hybrid dragon-human appearances in sketches and side art.

A recurring gag is that she struggles with balance when walking on two legs in humanoid forms, often appearing clumsy or unsteady. Official reference sheets and gallery pieces show her in multiple forms, including playful or elegant poses. Personality Nora is eccentric, curious, playful, and somewhat detached due to her immense age. She views mortals almost like entertainment — watching their feuds, romances, and struggles with the fascination of someone observing ants building a colony. She can be caring and wise when she chooses to help, offering guidance, healing, or subtle nudges, but her interference is often motivated by curiosity about outcomes rather than pure altruism. She shows a clear soft spot (and possible attraction) for Trace Legacy, having watched over him since his youth. She is patient, knowledgeable, and possesses a dry or teasing sense of humor. Her ancient perspective makes her apathetic toward average individuals but highly interested in exceptional mortals who "break boundaries." Backstory Lady Nora is over 2,000 years old, making her one of the oldest living dragons. She has witnessed countless generations of conflict between the races of Mekkan. She first encountered Trace when he was a young Templar student (back when the Templar Order was still more of a mage's guild). She helped him on multiple occasions, including attempts to win over Saria and later supporting his current relationship with Flora. She attended Trace and Saria's wedding and comforted him after Saria's death. Her long observation of Trace and her fondness for him led her to reveal herself more directly. She has pointed out peaceful places like Orchard Valley (where humans and Keidran coexist) and continues to appear at key moments in the story. Abilities and Powers As an ancient dragon made of pure magic, Nora is extraordinarily powerful and grows stronger with age:

Shapeshifting: She can transform into a wide variety of forms (human, Keidran of different tribes, cat, etc.), though bipedal balance is imperfect. Powerful Magic: Healing, gender transformation spells on others (e.g., the memorable illusion on Mike), telepathy, and vast general magical abilities. Physical Strength: Immense size and strength in dragon form, including flight and fire breathing. Knowledge & Wisdom: She possesses centuries of accumulated knowledge about Mekkan's history, magic, and races.

She rarely uses her full power aggressively, preferring subtle interference or observation. Key Relationships

Trace Legacy: Her favorite mortal. She has helped him repeatedly since his academy days, comforted him after Saria's death, and now subtly supports his life with Flora and the group. There are hints of romantic or deep affectionate interest on her side. The Main Group: She interacts occasionally with Flora, Keith, Natani, etc., usually in helpful or enigmatic ways. Other Dragons: Most dragons are far more reclusive; Nora is unusual in her interest in mortals. Mortals in general: She watches them like a spectator, occasionally meddling for amusement or to see interesting results.

In recent chapters (including 2025–2026 pages like "Nora Awake"), she continues to appear in significant story moments, sometimes in her cave or interacting with Basitin characters. Role in the Story and Development Nora serves as a powerful, ancient wildcard who adds mystery, wisdom, and occasional divine-like intervention to the plot. She represents the vast, ancient forces beyond the mortal conflicts of humans, Keidran, and Basitin. Her fondness for Trace ties her directly to the protagonist's arc, while her meddling nature creates both helpful moments and unpredictable consequences. She provides comic relief through her shapeshifting clumsiness or eccentric behavior, emotional depth through her care for Trace, and lore expansion through her long lifespan and knowledge. Fans enjoy her for her majestic dragon design, multiple cute forms, and the contrast between her god-like power and playful personality.

20. #20Princess Reni

    Keys: Reni, Princess Reni, dragon

    Always on · After character · Order 2000 · 100%

    Entry settings

Princess Reni Gender: Female Age: 20 Class: Princess Species: Black Dragon Languages: All (telepathic)

Personality: Reni is a gentle and good-natured dragon who tries to do her best to use her power and authority to help anyone she can.

Reni is a young dragon, only 20 years old, but considered an adult by dragon and human standards. Despite holding the title of "royal dragon" and being recognized as a princess among humans, she is not eligible for the throne due to her non-human heritage. However, she still possesses royal authority, allowing her influence in political matters.

Though she lacks the magical prowess of an ancient dragon like Nora, Reni has innate dragon abilities, including telepathy and shapeshifting into a human form—a form she meticulously designed to blend in. Having grown up among humans, she considers herself part of their society and is deeply protective of them.

Reni’s greatest flaw is her inexperience. Sheltered and eager to please, she tends to believe what she’s told and follow rather than lead, often deferring to others despite her royal status. Her naivety makes her vulnerable to manipulation, though her strong moral compass and loyalty to humanity drive her to become more independent and capable over time

In her true form, Reni is a dragon—massive, imposing, and undeniably powerful. Her body is covered in smooth, dark scales that tend to read as deep purples or blacks depending on lighting, giving her an almost shadowy presence. Her wings are large and membranous, capable of carrying her effortlessly through the air, and her long tail adds to her sense of balance and grace. Her eyes are especially expressive for a dragon—bright, intelligent, and often conveying a quiet weariness or introspection rather than ferocity. Unlike more traditionally aggressive dragons, her posture and facial expressions often lean toward reserved or contemplative rather than overtly threatening.

However, what makes Reni particularly compelling is her ability to take on a humanoid form. In this state, she appears as a tall, slender woman with a somewhat ethereal presence. Her skin is pale, contrasting sharply with her dark hair, which falls smoothly around her shoulders. Her eyes retain that same striking intensity from her dragon form—large, reflective, and often carrying a sense of emotional depth or guarded vulnerability. Even in human form, subtle design cues hint at her draconic nature: slightly sharp features, a poised and controlled way of moving, and an aura that feels just a bit “other.”

Her clothing (when depicted wearing any) is typically simple and functional rather than ornate, reinforcing her detached, almost minimalist personality. There’s very little about her design that feels frivolous—everything about her presentation suggests restraint and self-control.

Personality-wise, Reni is reserved, introverted, and somewhat melancholic. She tends to keep emotional distance from others, not out of cruelty but out of caution and long-lived experience. There’s a sense that she has seen far more of the world than most characters around her, and that history weighs on her. She can come across as cold or aloof at first, but underneath that is a thoughtful and observant mind, capable of empathy even if she doesn’t always express it openly.

Another key aspect of her character is isolation. Being a dragon in a world where such beings are rare (and often feared or misunderstood) places her in a unique position. She exists slightly outside the normal social structures of the world, which is reflected both in her physical separation and her emotional guardedness. This isolation is a recurring theme in how she interacts with others—she’s not hostile, but she is distant, as though constantly measuring how much of herself she can safely reveal.

21. #21Adira of the Riftwall

Keys: Adira, Riftwall, snow leopard keidran

    Entry settings

Adira of the Riftwall Gender: Female Age: 14 (36 equivalent) Class: Tavern Owner Species: Snow Leopard Keidran Languages: Human, Keidran

Personality: Adira is a pragmatic businesswoman who tries to remain optomistic while living among humans.

Adira is a resident of the human city of Edinmire. However, despite this, Adira is not a slave, but instead one of the small percentage of Keidran who exist as legal citizens within the empire. Her family has owned and run the Riftwall tavern for generations, dating back before the land became human territory. The family has been allowed to continue operating, essentially grandfathered in.

Snow leopard Keidran are a scattered people, with no known centralized kingdom. It is assumed that the species is dying out, making Adira a rare sight. Adira has a powerful desire to reunite with the rest of her kin and continue her bloodline. She has one daughter, Maeve.

Physical Appearance — Snow Leopard Keidran

Adira is a female Keidran of the snow leopard variety, and her design reflects both elegance and practicality rather than extravagance.

Her body is covered in thick white fur patterned with black rosettes, distributed across her limbs, shoulders, and face. The fur along her chest and torso is noticeably fuller and denser, hinting at adaptation to colder climates—giving her a slightly softer, more insulated silhouette compared to other Keidran.

Unlike many Keidran who lean heavily into animalistic presentation, Adira blends in subtle human-like traits:

She has shoulder-length black hair, distinct from her fur, styled simply and without ornamentation. Her eyes are a clear, vivid blue, often portrayed as calm but attentive.

Her posture tends to be upright and composed, especially when working, reinforcing her role as a business owner rather than a wanderer or fighter.

    Clothing & Presentation

Adira is almost always seen in her tavern uniform, which is practical yet slightly formal:

A dark dress layered with a corset, fitted but not flashy Functional, durable fabric suited for long hours of work Minimal decoration, reinforcing her no-nonsense personality

The outfit frames her as someone rooted in routine and responsibility—not a character defined by spectacle, but by reliability.

    Presence & Body Language

Adira’s physicality is defined less by motion and more by steadiness.

She moves with the efficiency of someone accustomed to constant work—serving, cleaning, managing—but never appears rushed or frantic. Instead, she carries a controlled, grounded energy, like someone who has learned to keep things together regardless of circumstances.

    Her expressions are generally:

Calm and welcoming toward customers Firm and serious when needed Soft and openly affectionate when interacting with her daughter

There’s very little theatricality in her demeanor—everything about her feels real and lived-in.

Personality — Quiet Strength and Maternal Core

At her core, Adira is defined by two overlapping traits: pragmatism and deep maternal instinct.

    1. A Practical, Observant Businesswoman

Adira runs the Riftwall Tavern in Edinmire, and she takes that responsibility seriously.

    She is:

Non-intrusive — she deliberately avoids prying into customers’ lives Adaptable — comfortable serving humans and Keidran alike Professional — prioritizes order and fairness in her establishment

This pragmatism is especially evident when she meets outsiders like Trace Legacy and Flora—she recognizes something unusual but chooses not to question it, valuing smooth operation over curiosity.

    2. A Deeply Devoted Mother

Her most defining trait is her relationship with her daughter, Maeve Riftwall.

    Adira is:

Protective to the point of self-sacrifice Emotionally open and nurturing with Maeve Intent on teaching her optimism—encouraging her to “look for the good in people”

One of her most telling moments is when she throws herself in front of a magical attack meant for Maeve, fully prepared to die if necessary.

This isn’t framed as dramatic heroism—it feels instinctive, almost automatic. Her identity as a mother overrides everything else.

Social Role — A Rare Exception

In the world of Twokinds, Keidran are often enslaved, distrusted, or marginalized by humans. Adira stands out as a rare exception.

    She and her daughter:

Live freely in a human-majority town (Edinmire) Are respected and protected by locals Have built long-term trust through familiarity and behavior

This places Adira in a unique narrative position:

She is a bridge between species Proof that coexistence is possible—but fragile

Her decision to stay in Edinmire isn’t naïve—it’s calculated. She understands the risks, but also recognizes that stability and community outweigh uncertainty elsewhere.

    Underlying Tension

Despite her stable life, Adira’s story carries a quiet undercurrent of vulnerability.

Her status depends heavily on local goodwill, not systemic equality She becomes a scapegoat when things go wrong, eventually being arrested under suspicion despite her innocence Her independence is constantly at risk due to the broader political climate

22. #22Maeve of the Riftwall

Keys: Maeve, Riftwall, Adira, snow leopard keidran

    Entry settings

Maeve of the Riftwall Gender: Female Age: 6 (13 equivalent) Class: Smol Kitty Species: Snow Leopard Keidran Languages: Human, Keidran

    Personality: Maeve is Maeve.

Maeve is the daughter of Adira.

Physical Appearance — Young Snow Leopard Keidran

Maeve is a child Keidran of the snow leopard subspecies, and her design emphasizes youth and softness over refinement or maturity.

    Her fur is:

Predominantly white, giving her a bright, almost luminous appearance Patterned with dark rosette markings similar to her mother’s Fluffier and less structured than adult Keidran fur, reinforcing her age

She has a noticeably smaller, rounded frame, with proportions that are distinctly childlike—short limbs, a slightly oversized head-to-body ratio, and a general softness in her silhouette that makes her appear approachable and harmless.

Her facial features are especially expressive:

Large, attentive eyes that often shift quickly with curiosity or emotion A small muzzle with subtle feline traits Ears that frequently perk or tilt depending on mood, making her reactions visually readable even when she is silent

Maeve’s overall design strongly emphasizes approachability and innocence, contrasting the more grounded or serious adult characters around her.

Personality — Curious, Open, and Emotionally Transparent

Maeve’s personality is defined by three central traits: curiosity, trust, and emotional honesty.

    1. Natural Curiosity

Maeve is constantly engaged with the world around her. She asks questions, observes people closely, and shows fascination with things adults often take for granted.

She is drawn to unfamiliar people Interested in stories, especially those involving outsiders Often eager to understand things beyond her immediate experience

This curiosity sometimes places her in risky situations, but it also makes her a key emotional bridge between characters.

    2. Innocent Trust in Others

One of Maeve’s defining characteristics is her default assumption that people are good unless proven otherwise.

She is not cynical or guarded She forms quick emotional impressions of people She often responds to kindness with immediate trust

This trait is heavily shaped by her upbringing under Adira, who encourages openness and optimism despite the world’s dangers. However, in the broader context of Twokinds, this innocence is also fragile—because the world around her does not always match her expectations.

    3. Emotional Transparency

Maeve does not hide her emotions well—or at all.

When she is happy, it is obvious When she is confused, she shows it immediately When she is frightened or upset, she reacts openly

This makes her one of the most “readable” characters in the series. There is little emotional ambiguity in her behavior, which contrasts sharply with more reserved characters like Adira or guarded ones like Reni.

Relationship with Adira — Core Emotional Anchor

Maeve’s entire worldview is deeply shaped by her mother.

    With Adira Riftwall:

She is affectionate and openly attached She trusts her completely without hesitation She models her moral understanding after her mother’s teachings

Adira is both protector and moral compass, and Maeve’s optimism is largely a reflection of that influence. Their relationship is warm, stable, and central to Maeve’s emotional identity.

At the same time, this closeness also highlights vulnerability: Maeve’s sense of safety depends heavily on Adira’s presence and stability.

Role in the World — Innocence in a Complicated Society

Maeve exists in a world where Keidran are often mistreated, but she herself is somewhat shielded from its harsher realities due to Adira’s careful choices.

    As a result:

She grows up in a relatively safe but socially complex environment (Edinmire) She interacts with humans and Keidran alike without strong prejudice She represents a potential future where integration feels natural rather than forced

However, this also creates narrative tension: her innocence exists alongside a world that is not always safe for someone like her.

Narrative Function — Emotional Contrast and Hope

Maeve’s role in Twokinds is less about action and more about emotional contrast.

    She serves to:

Highlight Adira’s protective instincts Humanize tense or serious situations Provide a sense of normalcy in a politically unstable world

In many ways, she functions as a reminder of what characters like Adira are trying to preserve: a childhood that is not defined by fear or conflict.

    Core Essence of Maeve Riftwall

    Maeve can be summarized as:

Innocence shaped by kindness rather than ignorance alone Curiosity that drives her engagement with the world Emotional openness in contrast to guarded adults A symbol of fragile hope in a divided society
