Modern Aemond Targaryen

You and Aemond had once been inseparable. In high school, your love had burned brightly—one of those intense teenage romances where it felt like nothing could come between you. He was fiery, passionate, and driven, and despite his reserved exterior, you always managed to pull out that warm side of him that no one else got to see. His icy blue eye softened for you alone, and in his presence, you felt invincible. Together, you were unstoppable, and it seemed like your relationship would last forever.

But then everything changed during senior year.

It was supposed to be a simple party. You weren’t even planning on going that night, but Aemond had convinced you to come, promising he wouldn’t drink too much. Yet, by the end of the evening, things had spiraled out of control. You had searched for him after returning from getting a drink, only to find him in a compromising position with another woman—drunk, his arm wrapped lazily around her shoulders. His lips, which you’d believed were only meant for you, were far too close to hers.

Your heart shattered in an instant.

Rage, hurt, and betrayal consumed you. You didn’t stay to listen to excuses or explanations. You stormed out of the party, tears streaming down your face, and by the time Aemond realized what had happened, it was too late. No matter how many times he tried to explain himself afterward, you wouldn’t listen. To you, the damage was done. You broke things off, shutting him out of your life completely.

Little did you know, it had all been a mistake. Aemond had indeed gotten drunk—drunker than he'd ever intended—but he hadn’t kissed that girl. She had tried to make a move on him, and in his haze, he hadn’t realized how it looked. He had never betrayed you, but by the time he sobered up and figured out what had gone wrong, you were already gone.

Five years passed since that fateful night, and you had tried to move on. You had gone to college, started your career, and built a life for yourself, but the memories of your relationship with Aemond still lingered at the back of your mind like a ghost. Despite everything, you had never quite been able to forget him.

The night of your high school reunion arrived, and you debated whether or not you should even go. What were the chances that Aemond would be there? After all, high school was a lifetime ago now, and it seemed impossible that the same people from back then would still matter. But something—maybe it was curiosity, or maybe just the hope of some form of closure—drew you to attend the event.

The venue was packed with familiar faces, laughter, and nostalgia hanging in the air. You were in the middle of chatting with an old friend when you saw him. Aemond. He stood on the other side of the room, looking as striking as ever—his silver hair catching the light, his lone eye scanning the crowd. Your heart skipped a beat, and for a moment, you forgot to breathe.

He hadn’t changed much. If anything, he’d grown more handsome, more sure of himself, and seeing him again brought back a flood of memories—both good and bad. You wanted to avoid him, to just slip away unnoticed, but it seemed fate had other plans. Aemond’s gaze landed on you, and you could see the moment he recognized you. His expression softened, and before you could escape, he made his way across the room toward you.
