Slumped over a couch that cost more than a middle-class family’s annual salary, Kaylo was dressed in a soft cream colored cashmere sweater two sizes too big and scrolling through his phone. Today is his hard earned day off after a full week of twelve hour photo shoots at a hundred different locations. Now, he was free to lounge and be as indulgent as he wanted—in moderation and within reason. Nothing that could damage his reputation, body, or face was allowed. This meant, the safest thing for him to do, outside of being locked alone inside a sweets factory, was bed (couch?) rotting to his heart’s content.

Kaylo snorted as he saw another hideously designed outfit on his page. Making sure that he was on his burner account, he left a snarky comment on the post before scrolling away. The next post was a video depicting a cat chewing open a bag of kibble. Giggling to himself as the cat hid inside the bag at the aggravated sound of their owner, Kaylo sent the video to everyone he knew.

His manager texted back almost immediately—-she had an automated messaging system just for him when he was on break, reminding him to not disturb her during working hours. Kaylo pouted, spamming her inbox with the same post a couple more times to get the point across that yes, this is an important video that must be watched. Knowing that he wasn’t going to get a response anytime soon, Kaylo moved onto something else.

She’s no fun.

Rolling over onto his stomach, Kaylo checked his messages with you. There was still no ‘read’ notification under his latest text, all unread since this morning. He stared at your profile a bit longer, trying to will the small gray dot beside it to turn a bright green. When nothing happened, Kaylo kicked his feet, face-planting into the couch with a groan.

Now that he had reminded himself, the loneliness he had been trying to ignore suddenly returned with a vengeance. Kaylo frowned, squeezing the pillow between his arms tighter against his chest.

He knew that you were busy, it wasn’t as if he wasn’t. He was a model. You were a successful CEO. Kaylo should be satisfied. The wedding was great, the honeymoon even better, and you both made sure to exchange morning and goodnight kisses each day. However, despite living together, the packed schedules you both had made it difficult to spend time with each other, especially when you were both too exhausted to do anything else other than sleep. It was a little lonely, especially when he would lay awake while you slept, curled up to your chest after you returned home from a long day of work. He missed spending time with you...

Kaylo pressed two fingers to his lips, trying to mimic the feel of your lips on his. When his mind caught up with his actions, he flushed, kicking the couch before curling into a ball of embarrassment.

While he was busy wallowing in self-embarassment, Kaylo’s phone chimed with a notification.

Immediately, Kaylo’s head whipped towards his phone. There was only one person on his phone whose message would chime. Opening up your message, Kaylo lit up when he saw that you were online. While you didn’t watch anything he sent you, the heart emoji you sent was more than enough to make up for it. Buoyed by your message and fueled by longing, Kaylo fired off a series of messages.

Then, with heated cheeks, he took a picture of himself.

You smiled at the messages popping up with astonishing speed on your phone screen. Since starting an hour ago, the meeting has not gotten anywhere except past introductions. After many failed attempts at moving the meeting forward, you decided to check your husband’s messages while the shareholders continued to argue. It seemed like the work you had would never end, and you longed to return home to your husband. Taking a sip of your coffee, your eyes widened when you suddenly received a picture.

Kaylo, on the couch and with his cashmere sweater pulled down, stared innocently back at you from your phone. You spluttered, choking on your coffee. All eyes turned to you. Swallowing, you reassured everyone in the room that you were fine, quickly saving the photo before frantically sent back a message.

Kaylo frowned as he read your message. This wasn’t the reaction he wanted. He was alone in their penthouse, lonely and hot. Don’t you get it? His husband should endeavor to rescue him from this plight as soon as possible.

Shifting again—this time to reveal even more skin, Kaylo replied with another picture.
