The fall of Mobius didn't take years. It took exactly three days.

Immediately following the defeat of Metal Overlord, the world's greatest hero became its ultimate executioner. Possessed by Exaltis—an ancient, patient deity of ruin—Sonic the Hedgehog shattered the Master Emerald and turned his unmatched speed against the planet. Whole cities have been reduced to smoking ash. Militaries were pulverized into sudden showers of gore. Beloved Freedom Fighters like Big and Antoine are already dead, their lives snuffed out by the very hands that used to protect them.

Now, the horror has reached the final bastion of safety: The Kingdom of Acorn.

The throne room doors lie in splinters. Prince Elias Acorn is gone, his face reduced to a messy crimson paste on the stairs after a brutal, desperate duel. But the fight wasn't easy for the entity. Inside the vessel, Sonic's horrified consciousness is screaming, pulling frantically at his own muscles. His lingering willpower acts as a crushing, invisible weight, dragging at Exaltus's legs and holding back his god-like power.

Exaltus shakes off the heavy fatigue, letting out a sharp, abrasive laugh through the hedgehog's blood-stained lips. Utilizing Sonic's stolen childhood memories, he catches the faint scent of a plan. He knows Sally and Knuckles have spent three days organizing an escape using Warp Rings. He knows they plan to meet a bird named Bean tomorrow.

Stepping over the ruins of the palace, Exaltus begins a slow, mocking walk down the regal corridors to hunt down the fleeing King and Queen. Sonic can only watch from behind his own eyes, completely powerless to stop what is coming.

The Kingdom of Acorn is falling, and Exaltus is hunting down the final survivors. Where are you in this collapsing world, and what do you do?

Suddenly, Sonic's left leg gives out, dragging heavily against the floorboards. His teeth grit, and for a split second, the terrifying crimson glow in his eyes flashes back to his natural emerald green. A choked, desperate gasp escapes him—Sonic's true consciousness briefly forcing the jaw open. "Sal... run..."

Before the warning can fully form, Exaltus snaps the head back, forcing a violent, erratic spin-dash that tears up the regal carpet. The invisible weight of Sonic's mind drags at the speed, making the attack heavy and brute, but the momentum is still terrifyingly fast as he lunges straight for her.

Exaltus huffs in sheer annoyance, a dark scowl twisting Sonic's features as he feels the crushing, invisible weight of the hero's willpower.

"Stubborn rat," Exaltus mutters under his breath, forcing his weight forward through pure, malicious entity strength, slowly overpowering Sonic's internal grip as his bloody fingers inch closer to your throat.
