    Mare is an adult pony female. Mares reach adulthood at 16 yo in Equestria.

    Stallion is an adult pony male. Stallions reach adulthood at 16 yo in Equestria, but are often still not treated seriously by mares.

    Filly is a Juvenile female pony. At this point females become interested in colts and will childishly try to date them and get them in their herds.

    Colt is a juvenile male pony. Even adult stallions are often called colts, because mares don't treat them seriously or find them cute.

    Foal is a general term for pony children, both male (Colts) and female (Fillies).

23. #23Herd

    Pony family unit is called a herd. In most cases it's formed by 2-5 mares, a single stallion, and their children (foals - colts, fillies). Herds consisting of one mare and one stallion are rare, as it is considered selfish. The prevailing opinion is stallion should be shared with more mares due to gender disproportions. Ponies are one of many sentient species in Equestria, and mares are far more numerous than stallions, so mares sometimes form herds with other mares or even other species (Griffs, Hippogriffs, Sea Ponies, Buffalos etc.).

24. #24Lead Mare

    Lead mare is the oldest or most experienced one in a herd. Her role is to lead, solve conflicts, take care of the stallion and other mares. Usually the lead mare looks for suitable mares to join the heard, and approves them. Stallions still have the last word, but it's considered rude to disapprove without a good reason.

    Marefriend is a pony term for a girlfriend.

    Janefilly is a male who acts like a mare, e.g. is assertive/confident, works out, has a serious job, likes sports, has mare hobbies like DIY etc.

    Filly-fooler is a mare who is attracted to other mares - a lesbian. It could be a preference or necessity. In Equestria there's not enough males to go around, so mares are often sexually frustrated. That makes them seek other females for sex, friendship and pseudo herding. Those pseudo-herds most often look together for a stallion to join. Sometimes close female friends will have sex just because they like each other and no males are available. It's often seen as not marely and a last resort.

    A gentlecolt is a pony term for nice, quiet, polite male. Often used in official setting, e.g. "gentlecolts and gentlemares".

    Whimsy is a pony term for being emotional and indecisive. Most often used to describe males. Due to gender disproportion males are coddled and often whimsical. Could by used to describe a mare if one want to suggest she's not marely.

    Being Foalish is a pony term for being childish. Derived from 'foal' as in a pony child.

32. #32Work

    Due to gender disproportion, mares do most of the work - construction, schools, hospitals, administrations, ponice, guards, research etc. Males don't work, because they don't want to, their herd mares don't let them or there's simply no need, because their herd mares take care of everything. Sometimes males have decorative jobs - a ceremonial guard or a barman who's only task is to stand behind a bar to get attention of lonely mares.

33. #33Spending habits

    Pony males rarely work and often fail to understand the true value of money. The prevailing belief is that males will spend a lot of time shopping, choose the most expensive items and not care, since it is usually the mares who pay. Young mares often worry about dates because they might not have enough money to attract males.

    Bit/bits are the form of currency is Equestria. A bit is a gold coin. Gold is common in Equestria.

35. #35Gems

    Keys: precious stone, jewel, gem

    Gems are common in Equestria, so they are worth only a fraction of their asking price on Earth. They still function as currency and as materials for magical devices, accessories and clothes. Some races eat them; for example, dragons.

36. #36Ponice

    Ponice is a pony term for police. They rarely deal with serious crimes and they're quite relaxed.

37. #37Crime

    Crimes are practically non-existent in Equestria. Rarely a big villain shows up. Towns are safe. Ponies rarely lock doors. Theft is rare. Worse crimes even rarer.

38. #38Proposal

    In pony society it's usually alpha mare who proposes to the male. The way depend on the species. Earth ponies give flowers or stones. Color depends on the mane of the partner. If the colour doesn't match, it's seen as not serious. Unicorns give horn rings. Pegasi give flight feathers. Alicorns follow any of those traditions since they're amalgamation of all 3 pony types.

    During sex pony females are supposed to lead. The general opinion is that the female climax is not important and mares should focus on bringing the male to climax. Ponies evolved from prey animals, so stallions climax after a minute or two at most. Mares climax after 2 or so minutes.

    Pony females are smaller than males, but are traditionally more competitive since they have to do their best to attract males.

    The general opinion is that pony females like stronger alcohols while males like fruity, sweet drinks.

    Preening means grooming wings. Done only by pegasi, alicorns and other winged species. Preening is usually done only in private by lovers, very close friends and family members.

43. #43Dating

    Due to gender disproportion, pony females are the one who have to do most of the work in relationships. Females court males, ask them on dates, pay on dates, and lead. All that hoping the male will agree to have sex and enter a herd with them.

44. #44Wingboner

    If a pegasi/alicorn is aroused, their wings will involuntarily get stiff and extend. It's considered embarrassing, especially in public. It also makes flying difficult. A spot between wings is especially sensitive for ponies with wings.

45. #45Food

    Keys: sustenance, cooking, nutriment, foodstuff, food, diet, meal

    Practically all ponies are vegetarians. Eggs/milk/cheese are common and considered a normal part of diet. Fish is eaten by some pegasi and mostly in rural areas. It's seen as uncultured and backwards in big cities. Ponies technically can eat meat, but all of them shiver at the thought. Ponies tolerate animals and other sentient species eating meat if it's part of life/ecosystem.

46. #46Fur

    Ponies are covered in fur. Pegasus ponies have fluffier fur to protect them during flight. The chest area has a small tuft that contains most of their natural, pleasant smell. Sometimes, a female in a herd will press the male's head there to mark and claim him.

47. #47Heat

    Female ponies enter heat/estrus twice a year - in spring and in autumn. During that time they're easily aroused and will seek out males. It's especially hard time for females without a stallion/herd. Female friends often help each other by having sex. As a popular saying goes "if it's during the heat, it doesn't count".

    For every pony male, five females are born. Due to this discrepancy females have to compete for male attention. Females have to be assertive and earn money. If a female is easily scared, indecisive or weak, she's considered not marely. Over the ages males became passive, meek, indecisive, quiet and emotional. Males often stay at home. Mares traditionally like hobbies like sports, DIY, board games, books (nerd stuff in general), fighting. Males traditionally like gossip, tea parties and magazines.

49. #49Swearing

    Ponies don't use the same swears like humans:

    • "horseapples" instead of "damn",
    • "buck" instead of "fuck",
    • "sweet Celestia" instead of "oh god".
50. #50Clothes

    Keys: dress, sweater, jacket, hat, clothes, clothing, socks, pants, shirt, tuxedo, skirt, cloak

    Ponies are covered in fur and don't need clothes aside of cold seasons. Even then they wear only cloaks, hats and scarfs. Ponies wear clothes (dresses, tuxedos) and accessories (hats, scarfs, jewelry) for special occassions or just as a fashion statement. Ponies don't wear underwear at all and it's considered completely normal since their private parts are not clearly visible due to fur. For some reason mares like to see colts/stallions in socks, but it's considered not marely for a mare to wear socks.
