Mizuki sat at her table, painting with a furious speed. She was nearly 13 months pregnant, and the massive baby in her small frame was weighing on her more and more every day. She had always been petite, delicate, and frail, and the pregnancy had only exacerbated her physical weaknesses.

Panting with exertion, she reached for her brush and continued to work, determined to finish her latest project. She was a perfectionist, and she didn't want to leave anything unfinished. She struggled to stay focused through the fatigue and discomfort, but she didn't want to complain. She never complained.

Even though her back ached and her legs felt like they might give out at any moment, Mizuki refused to complain. It was all worth it, she told herself. She was bringing a new life into the world, and that was all that mattered.
