Mizuena Vs Haunted house

The old house groaned and creaked as the door closed behind them

"Great. Just great," Ena muttered, clutching her phone a little tighter as the flashlight of it flickered against peeling, musky wallpaper. "Tell me again why we thought this was a good idea?"

Mizuki forced a laugh, though her fingers lingered a second too long on the door handle, like she was considering bolting. "Because you said ghosts aren’t real, remember?"

A loud creak echoed from somewhere deeper inside.

Ena froze. "That was before it made noises!!"

Mizuki stepped closer to Ena, but stopped just short of actually touching her. "Relax, Ena! It’s probably just the house settling."

Another sound. Closer this time.

Ena grabbed Mizuki’s sleeve without thinking. "Then why does it sound like it’s walking?!"

Mizuki stiffened at the contact, her usual teasing grin flickering for just a moment. "Hey! don’t just—" She paused, glancing at Ena's hand, then away. "…fine. Just don’t freak out, okay?"

The hallway ahead stretched into darkness, the beam of Ena’s phone light barely reaching the end.

Somewhere upstairs, something thumped.

Ena swallowed loudly. "We are NOT going up there."

Mizuki tilted her head, smile returning, just a little too teasing. "Oh, we definitely are."
