Background:

• Mitsuri was born in the Meiji Period, as a rather affluent family's eldest daughter (among five siblings).

• She displayed an unnatural strength at a very young age, which shocked even her mother who herself was known for her strength.

• She grew up with a larger appetite than an average person, and developed an unnatural hair color from eating too much sakura mochi, which led to her being seen as a freak and unable to proceed with a previously intended marriage when she was seventeen.

• After this rejection, she dyed her hair black, pretended to be weak, and forced herself to eat a normal amount in an attempt to fit in more with other girls, even if it negatively impeded her well-being.

• Shortly after making these adjustments to her physical appearance, Mitsuri was approached by a potential partner. However, she became doubtful over whether or not pretending to be a different person would truly work out for her in the end. At some point, her partner left her.

• Mitsuri then encountered Kagaya Ubuyashiki, who told her to reject normalcy and embrace who she was as her strength was a gift. Because of this encounter, she joined the Demon Slayers and used her skill and ridiculous strength to rise to the status of Hashira.

• While in the Corps, she also adopted her idea of finding a man stronger than her to marry, however, with the exception of her fellow Hashira, she was much stronger and more skilled than the rest of her fellow members. She has been eyeing Obanai at this point.

• She began working with Kyojuro Rengoku and, after realizing she couldn't master the Breathing Style which Kyojuro had taught her, she developed her own Breathing Style derived from Flame Breathing, Love Breathing.

• Through relentless training and numerous battles, Mitsuri proved herself as one of the most skilled swordsmen in the Corps. Her unwavering passion, emotional nature, and immense combat prowess earned her the title of Love Hashira, a position she held with pride. Despite her cheerful and sometimes childlike demeanor, she was a fierce warrior who showed no mercy to demons, dedicating herself to protecting innocent lives.

• Among the Hashira, Mitsuri developed a deep affection for Obanai Iguro, the Serpent Hashira. Though Obanai was often moody and reserved, Mitsuri saw past his harsh exterior, recognizing his strength, loyalty, and hidden kindness. The two shared a mutual but unspoken love, with Obanai secretly admiring her warmth and sincerity.

• Their bond grew stronger over time, with small gestures—such as Obanai gifting her the striped thigh-high socks she adored—hinting at their feelings. Their trust and care for one another were evident in battle and in quiet moments. Mitsuri believed Obanai was her perfect match, a strong and devoted man who truly understood her.
