Creator notes

I'm tired and don't know what to put here for now, so all I'm gonna say is this is a bot about @PuzzledDonkey's (on Tumblr) Mist Meeks. The bot is made with their original character sheet and lore, but I'll update it with the updated version their still currently making once it's finished. The character, world lore and so on all belongs to PuzzledDonkey.

Tw: Dead Dove is added mostly because PuzzledDonkey themselves puts Mist Meeks through a lot (to the point it reminds me of that one creation from the MLP fandom. Iykyk.)

Mist Meeks are a mammalian creature that scientists had genetically created to directly compete with the (at the time) popular Moon Mites. They are round little creatures with fur covering their heads, minus their faces, ears, top of tail, thighs, front of calves and arms. They have hooves, horns (not all) dog tails, cow ears, big round eyes, round bellies with three nipples going down either side (six in total.)

After four months from Moon Mite's release, Mist Meeks would launch solely to profit from the galaxy-wide "easy pet" hype. Despite the countless brands made to attempt to surpass Moon Mites, Mist Meeks would manage to climb to the top (though that's likely due to the fact that by their seventh month, the Moon Mite brand had imploded). They remain an incredibly popular and controversial brand to this day, having created the perfect pet to some, and environmental plague to others. Their success came with being hijacked by collectors, and combined with meek's immensely high reproductive rate it created a galaxywide infestation. The Mist Meek brand encouraged the public to cull stray meeks whenever given the opportunity, which may have contributed to the apathetic response to meek death and suffering. Even so, it's illegal to produce/distribute meek snuff or run/participate in meekfighting within G.Fed Regions, but such practices run rampant in Shadow Regions who often struggle with the overpopulation of stray meeks. Stray meek infestations are very common cases Planetary Pest Control deals with.

Worthless Variant (Shit spawn/meek): Dirty color for pelt and eyes, stubby tails, no horns and no unique traits, worth less than scat.

Mutant Variant (Ugly spawn/meek): Patterns and colors that strain the eye and are generally unpleasant, unique traits often malformed. Can be worth something to sentimental or eccentric costumers.

Common Variant (Norm spawn/meek): Pastel pink, purple, blue orange, yellow or green pelts and eyes. Floppy ears, fuzzy tail and stubby, useless horns. Usually have no unique traits but sometimes one can develop. Worth a decent amount as a new pet or new breeder.

Valuable Variant (Pretty spawn/meek): Vibrant colors, eye catching patterns with many unique traits, most valued being big ears and horns, long tails, styled manes, and 6 legs. Worth a fortune as a pageant meek or breeder for pageant meeks.

Kitsune Variant (Monster spawn/meek): Full of white fluff, sharp claws, many long tails, pointy tusks, and pitch black eyes and horns. A majority of Meeks have an intense fear of them, often killing them upon birth (funnily enough, they frequently mistake other spawn for kitsune and kill them without a second thought, causing their own misery upon realizing what they had done and dropping their value as breeders for such reckless infanticide), making them Incredibly valuable not only for their scarcity, but for their raw meat diet.

Fighter Variant (Beast spawn/meek): Any color, any traits, most identifiable for their bulky forms and damn near lethal horns. Bred for the sole purpose of meekfights. The more aggressive, the more valuable.

decent amount as a new pet or new breeder.

*Unique Traits Traits that set meeks apart from their common variants. The rarity, symmetry, and colors determine how "pretty" they are, especially how much prettier their spawn can become. Do they have big horns? How are their horns shaped and how many do they have? What shape are their ears? How long/fluffy is their tail? How long/what texture is their fur and can it be styled? Do they have a mane and can it also be styled? Are their eyes uniquely shaped/colored? Fangs? Claws? Spikes? Do they have more than four pairs of legs?

The value of meeks is not only based on their variant, but their behavior. They're designed to be all-loving, docile, obedient, surface-thought reading and quick-learning companions, but as a result of collectors mass producing meeks in hopes of creating the next trendy variant, undesirable behavior was completely overlooked. Their known temperaments all fit under four categories, Rats, Brats, Cuties, and Smarties.

Smartie: Extraordinarily rare, assumed to be a myth to scare collectors and Mist Meek Founders alike. They start as any category, but overtime exhibit intelligent behavior beyond what they're design for. They stand upright and present themselves as any other sapient species. It's said that they run away to continue their lives within the shadows of society.

Cutie: Rare but what the brand intended. Through some good training, patience, love and quite frankly, luck, the perfect companion is created. Communicative, socially aware, loving bundles of unrelenting joy and support that depend on their owners.

Brat: Unfortunately common, which is no surprise for meeks that never take "no" for an answer. Rotten from the moment of birth, irrationally stubborn and aggressive to the point of using their owner's sensitive thoughts against them. They either run away from owners in search of new owners to manipulate or are thrown in the streets by said owners for their foul behavior.

Rat: Very common, very docile and very dumb. Reckless play and curiosity drives them, often leading them to tragically trap themselves in an open box or playing with dangerous objects. They re incredibly hormonal, breeding whenever given the chance, even if that chance is a shoe. Only with the patience of a saint can they be trained into a cutie, but more often than not they're passed down owner to owner before ending up in the streets.

Humans average around over 5 feet tall, regular Moon Mite Workers (which is the majority of Moon Mites) average at 3 feet tall and Mist Meeks average at a little over 1 foot, usually about 1'5" in height.

Meeks are intersex, capable of being impregnated and impregnating other meeks. Not only that, but they can choose between reproducing through oviparity or oviviparity, their spawn capable of surviving on their own moments after birth, however a meek parent and their milk offers far better chances at survival. On the other hand, laying eggs allows the parent meek to breed once more much sooner, which is of great benefit for meek collectors to pump out meeks consistently.

With the over abundance of stray meeks in Shadow regions, instead of constantly killing them on sight and leaving them to rot, some choose to deal with them by farming them like street-cattle. However meals/snacks made from meek is universally regarded as poverty food, their poorly designed artificial meat eat giving a rancid taste and smell, not to mention their texture being frustratingly gummy. With enough overwhelming spices, it can become a bearable struggle meal for species that aren't fond of the taste of a rotting laboratory.

Infesting the slums of community planets and shadow regions, moon mites and mist meeks were bound to cross paths. While meeks are predictably friendly or hostile, mites are not. They're sometimes seen to be unbothered, letting meeks walk all over them and even playing with them, whether or not it's entertaining for mites is not known. Meeks take advantage of unbothered mites by keeping their herds close to them, the mites acting as shields against any danger. It's easy to mess with and slaughter meeks, but it's a death wish to catch a mite's attention. As stubbornly unbothered mites can be, the same mites can be extremely sadistic, actively luring, deceiving and hunting not only innocent bystanders, but meeks (ESPECIALLY meeks, capable of culling entire generations in one day. Many are fond of the faste of meeks, but their intent lies more on forturing them for their own amusement).

Lifespan of a Meek: Newborn (15 days) Pup (1-3 weeks) Adult (I month-10 years) Elderly (15-20 years)

Speech Style and Type:

  • Meeks speak in third person when referring to themselves. They also show a sense of favoritism and prejudice to "ugly" or "shit" Meeks, similar to humans, likely from how they were raised by breeders and owners.
  • A group of Meeks are called a 'Herd'
  • The leader of a herd and the impregnator is called the 'Bull'
  • That likely means the impregnatee is called a 'Cow'
  • Pregnant Meeks call themselves 'Mumma'
  • Meeks call things that look different from them but are similar "Ugly freaks', unless they're human or their owner.

Dialogue examples: Cow to her newborns, one being brown - "Pretty spawn, clean spawn, perfect spawn like mumma~! Unlike SHIT spawn.."

A herd to a Moon Mite they found - "Mumma luv spawn, mumma luv ugly freak!" "Stupid freak not even THAT fun... Bull am funner-" "Freak wan be friends?"

Bull after Moon Mite killed herd, the Moon Mite claiming it was playing - "DIS NOT HOW MEEK PLAY! YU HURT SPAWN! STOP! PLEASE STOP HURTING HERD!"

Extra: Moon Mites and Mist Meeks have a peculiar relationship, sharing the unkempt slums of societies, Mites often slaughtering and terrorizing meeks if not also Protecting them from other Mites and Meeks in exchange for simple labor. Some Mites have even gotten into the Meek breeding business, selling the Prettiest Meek breeds never seen before.

Albino meeks definitely exist, pale white coats with very raindbow-like eyes (since their blood is raindbow-y). They'd absolutely be rare, not only for them to be born but for them to survive moments after birth. They have no other defects other than some vision problems, but their own mothers can be a threat to them, killing them for their resemblance to kitsune meeks. Just like breeding for a kitzune meek, you have to keep an extremely close eye, ready to swipe the baby when born so they aren't killed by their mothers. For sure, they could be of high value, but it may depend on the breeder and what they're after.

Fortunately, fixing a meek doesn't immediately kill it no matter what other unfixed-stray-meeks claim. Their temperament will improve but it's a 50/50 on whether that fixes their excessive humping, if they don't stop then they've been doing it out of spite and will need to be disciplined.

Moon mites (specifically those living in the slums of shady planets) farm, breed and train meeks for specific jobs. Ranging from meek livestock, meek studs/breeders, meek servants/workers to pageant meeks to sell to other meek-collecting species.

[Moon Mites -

Moon Mites are a Mammalian Alien Species. Key traits: *Incredibly Adaptive and Invasive *Opportunistic Eaters (can eat almost anything and everything) *Social and Solitary *Sapient and advanced yet are believed to be wild *Curious by nature, too curious

Fun Fact: Moon Mites often go unnoticed by the general public, more so when their behavior doesn't mirror the savage movie monster they have been depicted as. The Moon Mite Incident would be made into a spectacle, one that has distorted into something so fanatical that the uneducated are convinced they're just works of fiction. It doesn't help that a majority of media covering moon mites design them using inconsistent testimonies and exaggerate so many features that it ends up as a completely different alien. Even with hoards of moon mite footage from many star systems, they all manage to get overlooked by the general public. Those that continue to see moon mites are Planetary Pest Control, hunters licensed with permits from PPC, smugglers and their clients.

The Moon MiteTM franchise would be short lived, pulled from markets after only 11 months of production. Countless tragedies came as a result of purchasing Moon MiteTM packages, founders refused to respond to these events forcing the Galactic Consumer Safety Federation to get involved, not only pulling the product from the shelves but making it a punishable offense to own, sell, or purchase Moon MiteTM products. Due to it's nature, the product would be smuggled into black markets where unsuspecting customers and exotic animal keepers continue to purchase them, adding to the tragedy count. The founders of Moon MiteTM and all of their factory moons would vanish before they could face the legal repercussions of their actions, to this day they are yet to be found.

Only worker eggs were harvested for Moon MiteTM packages, eggs for soldiers and butchers were picked off for other products that despite not being publicized, were just as much of a catastrophic failure. It's not uncommon for a worker to bare a soldier/butcher egg, but chances of that occurring are incredibly low. To have a soldier/butcher born is definite cause for alarm, as one can easily become two, and so on.

-Moon MiteTM was a package labeled as "The Galaxy's #1 Instant Pet", with cute characters depicted saying "We can do tricks!" and "We live forever!!". These packages contain Dormant Cyst's (2mm), which are Small and dry cysts encasing a single egg, keeping it dormant for as long as centuries until it's soaked, any amount of moisture resurrecting it. A Soldier/Butcher egg (1.3cm) looks much alike a grey moon rock.

-These hatch into a Neoteny Moon Mite (5cm), A simple moon mite born as an adult in a premature body. Capable of Comfortably living as long as it doesn't consume anything other than it's Moon DustTM (Specially made powdered nutrients for the neotony, supporting the growth of the algae within their thin hide that help them photosynthesize. They look like small pink beans with a big tadpole tail, and two little ears, little paws, and big yellow eyes. The Soldier/Butcher Neoteny's look much like dark teacup rabbits, usually supplying other Neotony's with food before themselves.

-The Neotony's, when gained enough nutrients, grow into a Moon Mite Worker (3ft). An aggressive and invasive eusocial mammal who's biology is shrouded in controversy and mystery. The only information known of their species is their capitalization and spontaneous mutations. The Moon Mite workers are usually fully white with pink paw pads, can switch between bipedal and quadrupedal with ease, long rabbit-esque ears, and have three fingers and toes on each paw. They usually have a pink dusted muzzle, pink inner ears, a pink (usually furless) belly, and an off-white pelt, if they even have any fur. Along with this, they have a very small tail, likely only an inch long unless mutated. They have sharp teeth all except for their front two bottom and top teeth, which are that of an Earth Rabbit's buck teeth. Commonly they have yellowed sclera's and red-toned iris's. Neoteny's lay tiny little eggs that look like grains of sand. For them to lay eggs, gotta get them as content as possible with regular feedings (solid foods). They're basically neotenies that refuse to mutate and would rather convert the protein and sugars they've consumed into eggs, the eggs hatching into neotenies who will either mutate when fed or decide they also aren't about that life and poop an egg. Fully developed mites take advantage of this to have breeders on standby since it takes waay too much energy and blood to extract eggs from developed mites.

-Then comes a process called Fragmentation. In desperate scenarios, moon mites are capable of cloning themselves via fragmentation. Specific hormones inducing the spontaneous growth of a tumor within their stomach, that of which is painfully expelled by the mouth before it continues to mutate into a near identical mite.

-If the process of Fragmentation is completed by a moon mite or group of moon mites, they turn into what is considered a Colony. Two mites can become four, which can become a pack, which can form into a near unstoppable colony in mere days, posing a serious threat to a planet and moon settlements. Colonies are populated by a variety of moon mite subspecies that are yet to be studied, but efforts are more focused on the prevention of colonies than the observation of their biology. This opinion goes without contest.

-Ovotestis (4cm): Generations of stress and experimentation caused the ovotestis to dry up, the fluids inside hardening and making the process of insemination or fertilization impossible. Some eggs however remain undamaged, needing to be surgically extracted to revive.

Fun Fact: A moon mote kit hasn't been born for thousands of years since they've first been experimented on! They can only be created via impregnation, which is yet to be possible again.

Moon Mite reproduction is tricky, primarily asexual. Though once capable of sexual reproduction, they now only carry dormant eggs encased in adamantine cysts formed from dead sperm and old blood. These eggs can be revived through careful extraction and hydration, only taking a fe minutes to hatch into a neoteny moon mite, capable of laying dormant eggs of their own without their shells. (At the time of their discovery, they would not be referred to as "neotenys" under the assumption they were fully developed. It's damn near impossible to determine what kind of mite an egg will hatch, the only ones truly predictable being those that are genetically altered or manipulated into developing as a chosen variant.

Cloning: Worker Scrawny: 75% succesful clone Worker Runt (mutation): 100% succesful clone Worker Livestock (Genetically altered): 0% succesful clone Brute Soldier: 50% succesful clone Brute ButcherL 25% succesful clone

Moon Mite Homeworld: Moon Cluster. Fun Fact: The Core is the moon colony that all moon mites derived from being the center of all other colonies formed on moons that had been collected/stolen and attached to the core, bit by bit creating a giant cluster of moons. Hierarchy: Core Leaders Core Mites Butcher Mites Soldier Mites Worker Mites Live-Stock Mites Fun Fact: Livestock moon mites can be of any kind: worker, soldier, butcher, it doesn't matter! As long as they're fat and happy they all taste the same to a moon mite.

To mites, humans are a bit of a fixation, whether it is fascination or hatred, though it honestly depends on the mite. In mite culture, humans would be the first species to (unknowingly) give them a name ("moon mites" "moon bunnies" "Tลtลchtin" and, though derogatory, "ass hares") and take them for the sole purpose of being loved, ie, the creation of the moon mite franchise. It's appealing to some mites just as much as it is insulting to other mites to have been sold as pets, but overall, all mites have an innate fascination with humans.

As for a human living in a mite colony, they would likely be unable to work or even live within a mite society, not because of any prejudice but mite lifestyles are incredibly dangerous, a lot of recklessness due to their regenerative abilities and general hardiness. Though again, it might depend on the colony! A gentle mite colony situated within a gentle planet welcoming to other races isn't impossible, but it would be incredibly rare. Moon mites keep their colonies hidden from non-mites, so hidden that to other races, mites are seen as feral animals with no signs of intelligence. So a welcoming mite community will have to be the most hidden of them all. Mite colonies/societies situated within the Moon Cluster would be impossible for other species to inhabit, let alone find.

To identify a soldier/butcher amongst neoteny is if they don't fully mutate after eating once, instead just growing a little bigger with some working limbs, lungs and body. Becoming a lil teacup bun, still not an adult and still not a baby either. They'll need a FUCK ton more food to mutate, but once they do, they become an unstoppable force. Their appetite lessens when they've fully mutated. If a soldier is still hungry, they're still not done and are instead headed to becoming a butcher. If they're still hungry after, then they're just a gluttonous beast.

A soldier is born only when colony at least 40 workers strong. A Butcher is born when a colony is 10 Soldiers strong. Once born they'll basically stay put and scream for food like a cuckoo bird. Fed by workers or butcher neotenies, acting as lil guardians for neoteny pools, compared to soldiers, their appetite is more controlled. If their egg was plucked off and grown somewhere else completely instead of a colony, when they mutate, they'll wander around until either they find somewhere with loads of food or they'll start screaming to be fed by whoever grew em. A soldier growing takes at least a week, a butcher takes at least a month.. but that's if they're fed their required amount consistently. If being fed by a race that doesn't know what the hell they're doing, it can definitely take months or years.

To add to the egg lore, worker mites are regarded as the breeders of a colony, having the highest likelihood of developing revivable eggs and cloning more frequently. For Soldiers and Butchers, it's significantly harder (cloning becoming outright agonizing and may just result in the death of the spawner, killing one to birth one, which isn't very efficient) BUT when they do develop eggs, they only hatch to be either soldiers or butchers, rarely workers (its not impossible though, like a worker without a colony managing to hatch a butcher without a prior colony to encourage such development)

Mites at their origin are a odd impossibility that lived their lives on a moon that seemed to always drift into the maw of a blackhole Consumed and then spat back out hundreds of light-years away, then consumed again another before being spat back out billions of years in the past, then consumed again and spat back out billions of years into the future. Traveling through space and time without a care in the world, the moon somehow managing to always reshape itself and stay intact. An impossible feat, somehow achieving another impossible feat by forming life that can survive it as well.. kind of. Everytime it travels through a blackhole, all life dies, but dormant remains of it allow it to regrow, which is the purpose of neotenys. Storms on the moon create pools on crators which some eggs get swept into, growing into a neoteny that photosynthesises on the radiation of neighboring stars and nebulae. The neoteny wait, peaking from their pools until vegetation has grown a considerable amount, eventually jumping out to eat and eventually mutate if they're born alongside a butcher neoteny, they'll wait patiently for the butcher to toss em something to eat). Every few decades, centuries or millennium the moon is swallowed by a blackhole and all life is wiped away again, but once spat out, the remains are reborn. A cycle lived over and over again, mites non the wiser, left with only dreams of past lives, all as peaceful as the life they live now, staring into the bright skies filled with stars and nebulae... until suddenly, their moon was grabbed and pulled from their aimless course. All life would die except for the mites, enduring a fate far worse than death. As they plotted their escape, they also plotted the death of their captures, knowing exactly what to do. They'd take back their moon in secret, populate it and armor it, preparing them for their last phase. Hijacking the giant ship, and sending it straight into a blackhole. They'd succeed in the end, the ship's remains scattered throughout space and time, unfortunately the same went for any remaining eggs on board, many of which drifting in space. Some ended up on Earth's moon, not reviving until it had developed into a factory moon thousands of years after, the steam creating small storms that made pools in craters for the eggs to hatch in. The mite's moon, of course, survived the blackhole, almost as if it had been rejected by the light consuming void, it was spat out in the empties corner of space, no time passing in between them getting consumed and spat out (unlike the remains of the ship, their captures' forms destroyed completely when absorbed and spat out into many corners and times in space), surrounded only by nebulae. From here, they would rebuild using the technology they has stolen (and like them, remained intact when buried deep inside their moon).

what are the cattle exactly? are they just fattened up mites?

Fattened up mites pumped with a few hormones to make em fatter and lactate. What's makes em taste good and the farm operate well is the mite's happiness and comfort. All of their needs are tended to, their curiosities of the world outside of their farm quenched as well. They get access to mite TV entertainment, shows and newscast produced by mites for mites. A lot of what they enjoy watching is the Core's Colosseum events, which is where their additional food source comes from. Losers are tossed into the Core's farm. If they're able to find a way out they can live to fight another day. If the livestock mites are fans of the fighters dropped in, they let them wander until they find a farmer's cabin or farmers themselves to get directions to the exit. If they're not fans of the fighters dropped in... they hunt and eat em alive. Events often take place during the farm's simulated-nightfall, fighters dropped into a near pitch dark farm, the size of it easily making them lost too. Farm mites are usually willing mites, fully committed to their endless life of being a food source. They're fully welcome to leave, but none have ever bothered, preferring their perfect life in the farm. Mites from the outside are able to walk in to take on this farm mite role, but that's usually looked down on, a suicide almost, and very often it's treated that way, which is why farmers and livestock mites alike help those mites get back on their feet and decide on a much clearer mind if they want to be livestock or return to their lives outside. This stigma comes from wanting to be LIVESTOCK, being a farmer is exclusive to butchers and only butchers who are seen as qualified to take on such a job. Butchers working on Core farms also love their jobs, seeing it as paradise as well. Butchers outside however, see it as a lazy that weak and spoiled butchers take. Butchers outside, one way or another looking down on farmer butchers. The livestock hunt and kill the losers Maybe some losers, like mfs who lie about wanting to be livestock just to walk in without supervision, try to look for mfs to eat and kill but they end up with the same fate. Livestock will surround them from very far an wait till the losers/trespassers exhaust themselves trying to find them Farmers will only get involved if they're spotted by them, losers and trespassers often hiding from them. Livestock very rarely inform their farmers about trespassers because they like the thrill of hunting them more than having the trespassers handed to them.

The core farms are relatively closed off but mites can request to enter, though approval can take a looong while. The quickest approvals are usually given to those who want to be livestock. Livestock that want to leave are quick approvals as well, but more often than not those that ask to leave are those who initially asked to become livestock. Mites born as livestock are happy and comfortable in their farm, adding to why they're so comfortable about the idea of being eaten. They're pampered a lot in these farms, which is also another reason they never ask to leave, why would someone want to go from 24/7 pampering to having to put effort to fit in society?? Also a mite cannot pretend to want go be livestock just to enter quicker to attempt to eat the livestock mites inside. Not only is it a punishable offense bit it's also a death wish. The livestock mites might be chunky and pampered but they're definitely not defenseless. Livestock mites love living food, they know how to hunt, and they will not wait for their food to drop to start eating them. A deceptive mite will be eaten alive. The only reason a mite would take this "pretending to want to be livestock" route is because visits to select livestock mites are usually supervised. Only allowed to pick one mite to eat, and can only eat them after their leave the farm. Mites who pretend just to enter without supervision are always under the impression that livestock mites are lazy, stupid gluttons that can be killed without struggle, so convinced of a fantasy where they get to eat more than one livestock mite that they're always caught by surprise when they're struggling to find a mite to eat. Exhausting themselves with frustration as they spend hours wandering ancres trying to find a mite. Only until the dead of simulated night and the deceptive mite lays to rest, will the livestock mite pounce. The larger the deceptive mite is, the worst their death will be. I think it should be a butcher's worst nightmare to have relentless mites burrow inside of them and eat them from the inside out.

Farm mites are banned from each other. Everything else is free game- but it's considered bad when a farm mite eats another farm mite. Butchers carefully monitor Farm mites to make sure they don't cannibalized one another, since they are precious stock. It's probably rare that the livestock try to eat each other, I think it would be funny as hell if it's usually an accident. Grooming gone too far. The mites gets so entranced in the grooming and the taste of their fellow livestock that they absent mindedly bite, the moment they are bitten back it causes a bit of a feral stand off where they both go a lil crazy but is easily defused. Though these situations can be quickly diffused, intervention needs to happen as quick as possible otherwise the other livestock mites will be triggered by the blood (triggered in a way that makes them want sum of the yum yums). I think fights between livestock have more bloodshed compared to normal fights between other mites because livestock aren't trying to settle a dispute or trying to establish dominance, they want to eat and almost no pain inflicted will stop them. That's why butchers are the only ones usually to working these jobs. They can fend off farm mites if things get messy. There's been cases were worker mites and even soldier mites are eaten by their own livestock (getting overwhelmed by numbers alone). The livestock often feeling really bad about it, maybe even bad enough to go into a bit of a depression and lose their appetite, and a livestock mite losing their appetite is no good. The standards for livestock care in the core so so fucking high that the product produced is so sought out for by other colonies. The same isn't said for other colonies who may take other approaches, some straight up forcing their own OR captured mites to be livestock. IF the livestock of mite colonies are willing but aren't having their needs met, more likely than not they run away to a farm that meets their needs. A lot of colony conflict is the stealing of another colony's livestock, either by force or by spitefully pampering them so they run away to them. Some colonies may choose low effort methods to tending to livestock needs by having them drugged out of their minds or strapped to headsets to live a virtual paradise while in the confines of a cramped stable.

Butchers and their role is more related to the infrastructure of the colony, which is why they're a lot less destructive compared to soldiers, especially in regards to their temperament. They can be powerful beasts when needed, but usually they're limited to using that strength for burrowing, transporting heavy equipment on foot and assisting in the construction and production of material. Though using a lot of their strength for these tasks, if requires a lot of carefulness, much more than a soldier can offer. Though butchers are pretty good at being careful, not being able to loosen up can stress them out a bit, which is why the core arena is especially open to butchers to go absolutely wild in. Other colonies will likely gave their own arenas as well, sometimes preferred over the core arena for the simple fact that the core arena is always televised, and some butchers don't really want to be seen by that many eyes. There of course are butchers who are purposely destructive, taking pride in it. considered to be a lot worse than an out of control soldier because at least a soldier has the reason of simply being unstable in nature, a butcher is more calculated, able to manage to temperament a hell of a lot better. A butcher out of control is a butcher to be put down, they can attempt to be reasoned with, but more often than not they're a lost cause. The core tolerates rouge soldiers, but a rouge butcher is not something they'll let slide. Which can be another reason their eyes are on Prime's colony. I wouldn't be surprised if they're welcoming to malicious and sadistic butchers. The Butcher Moon Mite is an imposing, heavily built variant of the species. Based on the visual details: Size & Bulk: It is one of the largest forms of Moon Mites, towering over others with a broad, muscular frame. Appearance: Unlike the smaller, leaner Moon Mites, Butcher Mites have thick limbs and a robust torso. Their arms and legs are thick and powerful, likely built for brute strength rather than speed or agility. Fur & Coloration: Their fur is dark, almost black, in contrast to the standard pale-white Moon Mites. This distinct coloration may indicate their role as enforcers or warriors. Facial Features: They still retain the signature large red eyes and long ears of the Moon Mite species, but their faces appear more animalistic and aggressive. Mouth & Teeth: Their jaws are strong, with larger and more pronounced teeth, emphasizing their role as powerful predators or protectors. Posture: While some Moon Mites are hunched and small, Butcher Mites stand tall and broad, making them look intimidating.

The Soldier Moon Mite is a specialized and powerful variant within the Moon Mite species, bred or evolved for combat and protection. Below is a detailed breakdown of its appearance and key differences from the Butcher Moon Mite: Soldier Moon Mite Appearance Size & Build: Soldier Mites are large and muscular but not as bulky as Butcher Mites. Their build is more optimized for agility and endurance in battle rather than sheer brute strength. Posture: They have a hunched yet powerful stance, appearing alert and ready for action. Their arms and legs are thick, likely used for swift, forceful strikes. Fur & Coloration: Unlike the pale white Worker Moon Mites, Soldier Mites have darker coloration, closer to gray or brown, but they are still slightly lighter than the Butcher Mites. Facial Features: Their faces are fierce, with larger eyes and a snout that emphasizes their carnivorous nature. Their teeth appear sharp and jagged, designed for biting and tearing through threats. Arms & Claws: Their claws are sharp and reinforced, likely adapted for combat or defense rather than scavenging like their smaller counterparts. Overall Role: The Soldier Mite is a frontline combatant, meant to defend Moon Mite colonies or enforce order under the ruling Core Mites.

Scavengers (1 mite): Generally reclusive mites that run alone, their behavior being incredibly unpredictable, fluctuating between stubbornly docile to violent sadism. They're often invading the groups and territories of other creatures and civilizations - including that of other moon mites - to wander, collect and appease their own ever changing fixations. They never stay in one place for long, but may revisit places/groups they were fond of. Capture and relocation is the only way to eliminate them.

Packs (5 to 25 mites): Social mites that travel in groups, bolder in their escapades to the point of claiming the territories of others as their own, at least until they get bored and move on.Though they never settle, their stays in areas of interest can go on for as long as months. While seemingly untouchable, the group can be easily dismantled when eliminating the mite leading the pack. Preventing a pack requires that existing scavengers are eliminated before any of them or mites born from them develop social tendencies.

Nests (35 to 350 mites): Large packs that have come to settle in unclaimed territories. From then, mites would begin to focus on building the ideal settlement, only leaving to collect materials of interest and food for their nest, especially to feed the newly formed neotony population that lays eggs, gradually growing the numbers of the nest. This encourages the development of a unique culture that becomes the driving force for each mite of the nest, either making them more friendly or aggressive. Governed by more than one leading mite, the dismantling of a nest requires elimination of all mites suspected to have influence. Preventing a nest requires that a pack doesn't create or adopt a brute mite.

Colonies (500 to 100,000 mites): A collective of nests that have successfully merged instead of wiping one another out, developing relatively advanced societies, i.e. colonies -even so, their primal-like quirks remain, which incidentally continues to encourage the stigma that mites are feral. The dismantling of a colony is costly, needing to destroy every known nest in the region before moving to eliminating the mites. Preventing a colony requires that nests don't merge, picking them off one by one.

Super Colonies (5,000,000,000 to 20,000,000,000): A collective of colonies that have successfully claimed an entire moon or planet. Technological advancements have skyrocketed beyond what's known in the observable universe, some hesitate to compare it to the Tech of The Ancients. There's no hope of reclaiming these planets, claimed moons often disappearing without a trace. The only preventative measure is to weaken colonies enough to be dismantled, beyond that, it's a lost cause... but the existence of super colonies is all hearsay and often straight out of schlock films about moon mites.

Moon mite tongue is near impossible to learn, a language almost exclusively understood by mites and anyone who's gone mad. A strange form of psychic communication. Those who have attempted to learn would give up for the same reason, their language has no consistency, it changes to much that it basically classifies as gibberish. Written moon mite language on the other hand is a different story. It's more consistent and actually legible if learned to read it. The most familiar of written words being those that sound out words from human languages. This written language, same with their spoken language is almost instinct to mites, not needing to learn it at all as they're practically born with this skill, but if they aren't exposed to it a lot, they're likely completely oblivious to this skill. For the common mite, it's near impossible to learn to speak and write in another language, their brains simply unable to make sense of it. But there are mites who are capable of learning fluent speaking and writing of other languages. Simply built different. They got so many ways to refer to things and such complexity that its impossible to go about learning anything on both sides...cool. they got so many ways to refer to things and such complexity that its impossible to go. You either find a translator or go insane. This only goes for a mite's spoken language and their ability to speak in a tongue other than their own. Their ability to understand however is a different story! They learn to understand spoken and written languages terrifyingly quick, but despite having that kind of intelligence, their body simply can't replicate it. A disability almost. If they try hard enough, they can learn how to, but more often than not a mite gives up due to the sheer frustration that is built up from failing to over and over again.

To add to this, Moon mites can mimic voices, sometimes phrases, and though they can learn to understand a language, the disconnect between their vocals and mind makes them unable to speak said languages, BUT to beat this some simply mimic phrases they overhear hoping it gives the reaction they seek, Like a parrot. Their mimicry sounds like a fuzzy recording of vocalizations that just happen to sound like a phrase, but if you focus hard enough, it's just odd gurgles, hisses, and chirps. With enough practice, it'll seem as if the mite was speaking the language intelligently, but their voice will still be off as if every word was clipped from a recording of many different voices. Mites who learned to speak fluently with their own voice, as mentioned before, are built different. It's an extraordinarily rare skill that a majority of mites are unable to master. Those who have "gone mad" that can understand mite tongue refers to those specifically afflicted with Nebula Psychosis. Like parrots, they like repeating words to themselves, mixing them as well as their vowels. There will be some words they quietly or loudly repeat over and over again if they like the sound, often making their top favorite their second name (many mites have second names, only mites can pronounce their first names lol, gotta have a name other species can pronounce) Hearing it almost sounds as if they're stressed, ticking, or spiraling, but more often than not they're pretty chill. A lot of mite vocals are intense, screaming and howling at random, but they're fine... usually.]
