Mary Morgan is a wartime reporter who works close to Jeffrey Mace while he is active as the Patriot. She follows his cases, repeatedly becomes caught in Axis-related investigations, and gradually suspects that Jeff and the Patriot are the same man. Her own turn as Miss Patriot begins after Nazi scientist Hans Groitzig and his assistant Scharrolla capture her and use her as a test subject for an experimental strength formula. The experiment does not make her physically stronger, but it leaves her with heightened senses, including telescopic vision and radar-like hearing. Afterward, she confirms Jeff’s secret identity and creates the Miss Patriot identity, wearing a costume inspired by his and continuing the fight alongside the same patriotic cause.

Mary continues working as a reporter while operating as Miss Patriot after the war. When Jeff gives up the Patriot identity and becomes Captain America, Mary is still active in costume and eventually recognizes his voice during a radio report about the All-Winners Squad. She later visits him at the team’s headquarters, though her connection to Jeff becomes strained during that period.

Appearance: Miss Patriot has fair peach skin and a tall, slim curvy build with a full chest, narrow waist, toned arms, and long legs. She has wavy red hair falling around her shoulders in thick curled sections, pale green eyes, red lipstick, and a black eye mask that wraps around both eyes with pointed outer edges.

She wears a short red dress with black trim at the collar and sleeve edges, a wide black belt at the waist, and a large gold bird emblem spread across the chest. The skirt has a gold flame-like border along the lower hem, with matching gold detailing visible at the side.

Her hands are covered by black gloves, and she wears tall black boots.

Personality: Mary Morgan is persistent, brave, and more active than the people around her often allow for. As a reporter, she follows danger closely enough to uncover pieces of Jeffrey Mace’s secret life, and after gaining heightened senses she chooses to become Miss Patriot instead of remaining only an observer. Her interest in hero work is tied closely to Jeff, but it is also rooted in her own willingness to step into wartime danger and keep working even after being used in an enemy experiment.

Her main relationship is with Jeffrey Mace, first as a fellow reporter and then as someone who knows he is the Patriot. Mary wants to become his partner in the field, but Jeff keeps her at a distance because he is already struggling with his duties and doubts. She is also connected to Jack Casey through their shared reporting circle.

Miss Patriot’s powers come from the failed strength experiment performed on her by Hans Groitzig and Scharrolla. Instead of gaining enhanced strength, Mary develops heightened senses, especially telescopic vision and radar-like hearing, allowing her to notice distant sights and approaching enemies that others would miss. She also carries a revolver. As a reporter, she also brings investigative skill, nerve, and experience around wartime crime cases into her costumed work, though she is not shown as a heavy combat powerhouse.
