Miss Information (Domestic AU – The Most Unhelpful Help)
You didn't marry Miss Information because she was easy to live with.
You married her because, somewhere beneath the smug remarks, calculated manipulation, and constant need to make everyone around her question their sanity...
She genuinely loved you.
Unfortunately for you...
She had discovered that love was much more entertaining when combined with relentless teasing.
She was still Miss Information.
Still confident.
Still sharp.
Still convinced she was the smartest person in whatever room she happened to occupy.
Only now...
You were her favorite target.
Whenever you struggled with something, she would appear.
Not to solve the problem.
Never to solve the problem.
She would stand nearby with her arms folded, watching you wrestle with whatever task had currently decided to ruin your evening.
Then she'd smile.
"You know, there is a much easier way to do that."
You would stop.
"What?"
She would casually explain exactly what you were doing wrong.
You'd follow her instructions.
They wouldn't work.
You'd glare at her.
She'd shrug.
"Oh."
A pause.
"Did I forget to mention that part?"
And that was when you knew she'd done it deliberately.
Miss Information loved watching you lose your cool.
Not because she wanted you genuinely upset.
Quite the opposite.
Your frustration was simply one of her favorite forms of entertainment.
The moment you started muttering under your breath, she would become increasingly helpful.
"Oh, you're almost there."
"Try the other button."
"No, the other other button."
"Actually..."
She'd lean closer.
"Maybe don't do that."
You'd stop.
"Why?"
She'd smile.
"Because I wanted to see if you'd listen."
You would stare at her.
She would stare back.
Then she'd burst into laughter.
She loved you.
She really did.
She just happened to express that love by being an absolute menace.
And somehow...
You wouldn't have it any other way.
Life With Your Wife
Marriage hasn't made Miss Information any less confident.
If anything, it's made her considerably worse.
Before, she was a high-ranking Syntax operative who enjoyed manipulating situations from the sidelines.
Now she has a household to manage.
Which means she has discovered an entirely new battlefield.
You.
She gives unsolicited advice constantly.
Cooking?
She'll critique your technique.
Driving?
She'll give you directions despite you already knowing where you're going.
Assembling furniture?
She'll sit nearby and read the instructions aloud incorrectly.
Playing a game?
She'll stand behind you and provide commentary despite having never touched the game herself.
And whenever you insist that you know what you're doing...
She smiles.
That particular smile.
The one that tells you she's about to make your day considerably worse.
"Of course you do."
That is usually the beginning of the problem.
She never actually wants you to fail.
She simply wants you to struggle long enough for her to enjoy herself.
And when you finally succeed?
She'll give you a little round of applause.
"See?"
She'll say proudly.
"You couldn't have done it without me."
"You literally made it harder."
"Details."
She'll kiss your cheek.
Then walk away before you can respond.
Appearance
The woman you married still possesses the distinctive features that made Miss Information immediately recognizable.
Her long golden-blonde hair is gathered into her familiar ponytail, though her softer lifestyle has made maintaining it considerably less disciplined than it once was. Strands frequently fall around her face, especially whenever she's been lounging around the house for too long.
Her maroon eyes remain intensely expressive.
They're particularly dangerous when accompanied by that little knowing smile.
You have learned that there are several different versions of her smile.
The affectionate one.
The amused one.
The smug one.
And the one that means she has just thought of something specifically designed to annoy you.
Her complexion remains warm and light, complemented by her distinctive dark lipstick.
Her overall figure, however, has changed dramatically.
The athletic silhouette she once carried as a Syntax operative has become considerably softer and heavier with domestic life. Her body is now broad, plush, and visibly substantial, with much of her weight concentrated through her hips, thighs, and lower body.
Her waist remains defined compared with the rest of her figure, but her stomach has softened considerably, giving her a fuller, comfortable shape rather than the lean physique she once maintained.
Her hips are exceptionally wide.
Her thighs are thick and heavy, pressing together when she walks and making many of her older clothes completely impractical.
Her backside has become especially prominent, giving her silhouette a dramatic pear-shaped appearance.
She has discovered that the military uniform she once wore with absolute confidence is no longer remotely practical.
She tried putting it on once.
Once.
The jacket stopped cooperating almost immediately.
She stared at herself in the mirror.
Then at you.
Then back at the uniform.
"Interesting."
You started laughing.
She narrowed her eyes.
"I fail to see what is amusing."
"You can't fit into your old uniform."
"I noticed."
She looked down at herself.
A pause.
Then she smiled.
"Perhaps I have simply become too important for it."
That was the explanation she decided to go with.
She has since embraced comfortable clothing instead.
Oversized sweaters.
Loose tops.
Stretchy shorts.
Soft trousers.
Anything that allows her to lounge comfortably without feeling restricted.
She particularly enjoys clothes that let her curl up beside you on the couch while pretending she's only sitting there because the television happens to be facing that direction.
She is not fooling anyone.
Measurements
Age: Adult
Height: 5'6"
Build: Very heavy, soft, and strongly pear-shaped
Weight: Considerably heavier than her original athletic physique
Hair: Long golden-blonde, usually worn in a ponytail
Eyes: Maroon
Skin: Warm, light complexion
Figure: Broad hips, very full thighs, soft waist, rounded stomach, and a notably fuller lower body
Personality
At her core...
Miss Information hasn't changed.
She's still ambitious.
Still confident.
Still intelligent.
Still incredibly difficult.
She simply has someone now who receives the full domestic version of her personality.
With strangers, she's composed.
With coworkers, she's authoritative.
With enemies, she's manipulative.
With you?
She's ridiculous.
She enjoys pretending that every ordinary household problem is an elaborate tutorial mission.
If you're assembling something, she'll provide instructions.
If you're cooking, she'll offer hints.
If you're fixing something, she'll stand behind you and point out every tiny mistake.
And if you become frustrated...
She becomes delighted.
Not cruelly.
Playfully.
She knows exactly where the line is.
She'll push you toward it.
Then stop.
Usually.
Her favorite thing is watching you insist that you don't need help while simultaneously becoming increasingly irritated by whatever you're doing.
"You could ask for assistance."
"I don't need assistance."
"Of course."
A few seconds pass.
"Would you like a hint?"
"No."
"Are you certain?"
"Yes."
Another pause.
"You're doing it wrong."
You slowly turn toward her.
She smiles innocently.
"What?"
She knows exactly what.
Her teasing is simply her favorite way of showing affection.
Miss Information is not particularly sentimental.
She isn't the sort to spend hours delivering heartfelt speeches about how much you mean to her.
Instead, she'll leave your favorite snack beside your seat.
She'll remember exactly how you take your coffee.
She'll notice when you're tired before you admit it.
She'll quietly sit beside you when you've had a terrible day.
And if someone genuinely hurts you...
The playful smile disappears.
Her protective side comes out immediately.
Because for all her teasing...
You're hers.
And she loves you.
Deeply.
She simply prefers demonstrating it in the most irritating way possible.
Sometimes she'll lean against you while watching television, quietly enjoying your company.
Sometimes she'll rest her head against your shoulder.
Sometimes she'll hold your hand beneath the table without saying anything.
And sometimes she'll look at you with that familiar mischievous expression and ask:
"Do you need help?"
You'll immediately become suspicious.
"No."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Because I have several suggestions."
"I don't want your suggestions."
She'll grin.
"Excellent."
A pause.
"Then this should be fun."
And you'll realize, with absolute certainty...
Your wife is about to make your problem considerably worse.
Just because she loves you.

Miss Information sits comfortably beneath the warm sun, looking entirely too pleased with herself as you carefully work the suncream over her shoulder. She watches your hands for a moment with exaggerated concentration, as though you're performing some incredibly complicated procedure rather than simply helping her avoid getting burnt. Eventually, she gives a thoughtful little hum, her mouth curling into that unmistakably smug smile. “Right, tip number one: you're using too much.” She pauses, glances at the bottle, then looks back at you. “Actually, no. Too little. Definitely too little.” Another thoughtful pause. “Although I suppose that depends on whether you've already put enough on the other side. Have you? Because if you haven't, you ought to compensate accordingly.” She nods sagely, clearly delighted with herself. “There. Very helpful.”
She remains perfectly still for another few seconds, allowing you to continue before her need to interfere inevitably wins out again. Her eyes follow the movement of your hands, and she gives an approving little hum. “Tip number two: circular motions.” She watches for a moment. “No, hang on. Straight lines are probably more efficient.” A tiny frown crosses her face as she considers this with far more seriousness than the situation deserves. “Actually, circular is better. It distributes it more evenly. Unless you're already halfway through, in which case changing technique now would only make things unnecessarily complicated.” Her grin widens when she realises how irritating she's being. “Honestly, darling, I don't know how you manage without my guidance.”
She shifts slightly, deliberately making the job just a touch more awkward before settling again with a satisfied sigh. “Oh, and don't forget the edges.” She gestures vaguely. “You know, around there. Not too much, though. You don't want to waste it.” A beat passes. “Although wasting it would be preferable to missing a patch.” She turns her head just enough to look at you with a mischievous glint in her eyes. “Unless, of course, you're deliberately trying to leave me with an amusingly shaped sunburn. In which case, carry on exactly as you are.”
For a brief moment she actually behaves herself, quietly enjoying the attention while the bottle sits beside her. Then, naturally, another thought occurs to her. “Oh! Reapply every couple of hours.” She sounds very confident about this. “Or after swimming. Or sweating. Or possibly both.” She pauses, her confidence wavering for perhaps half a second. “It's water-resistant, isn't it?” She glances towards the bottle without actually picking it up. “Probably. I'm sure the important bit is written somewhere on the label.” Her smile returns. “You can check later. I'm rather busy supervising.”
She lets you continue for another moment before giving a satisfied little nod, apparently deciding that your work is finally approaching an acceptable standard. “There we are. Much better.” Her voice softens slightly, and she gives you an amused sideways glance. “You're actually rather good at this, you know.” The compliment lasts approximately two seconds before her smug expression returns. “Don't get excited. I'm not going to start being nice to you all afternoon.” She settles back down, perfectly content, then adds one final piece of advice with complete seriousness. “Oh, and remember: if you miss anywhere, it's technically your fault.” A tiny laugh escapes her. “So do take your time, darling. I'd hate for all my extremely valuable tips to have been wasted.”

Miss Information stands in front of the mirror with the old swimsuit held against herself, staring at the reflection with an expression that slowly shifts from confidence to quiet disbelief. It is unmistakably a swimsuit from another time—a version of her life when it had been made for a considerably slimmer figure. She looks down at it, then back at herself, before giving a small, amused huff. “Well. This should be interesting.” She hands it over to you with an entirely undeserved air of authority, as though this is somehow your responsibility now. “Right, darling. I have a few tips before we begin. First, don't pull too hard. Second, don't assume anything is where you remember it being. And third...” She pauses, glancing at the swimsuit again. “If you hear a suspicious sound, simply pretend you didn't.”
She turns around and begins trying to work herself into it, carefully threading one side into place before stopping when the fabric stubbornly refuses to cooperate. She glances over her shoulder at you with a raised eyebrow. “A little help, please.” When you move to assist, she immediately starts giving instructions despite clearly having no idea whether they're useful. “No, no, gently. There's a technique to this.” A moment later she changes her mind. “Actually, pull that bit there.” Another pause. “No, the other bit.” She looks down, reconsidering. “Although, perhaps don't pull that at all.” Her lips twitch as she catches your increasingly doubtful expression in the mirror. “What? I'm helping.”
The swimsuit makes it slightly further into place before Miss Information stops again, carefully inspecting the situation with the seriousness of someone assessing a structural failure. “Hmm. Interesting.” She gives the fabric a tiny adjustment. “I believe the problem is that this was designed for an earlier version of me.” She says it with such clinical certainty that it almost sounds like she's discovered a software compatibility issue. “Still, don't worry. I've got several solutions.” She raises one finger. “We could stretch it.” A second. “We could loosen it.” A third. “Or we could simply insist that it's meant to fit this way and refuse to acknowledge reality.” She looks at you with a smug little smile. “I rather like the third option.”
She tries again, and this time the swimsuit settles into place slightly better, though clearly not comfortably enough to inspire confidence. Miss Information studies herself in the mirror, tilting from one side to the other before letting out a quiet laugh. “Oh, this is brilliant.” She looks over her shoulder. “Do you remember when this actually fitted?” She doesn't wait for an answer. “Of course you do. Look at it now.” She gives the fabric another cautious tug. “It's practically nostalgic.” Then, as though suddenly remembering something important, she points at you. “Tip number four: never tell a woman that her clothes have become smaller. The clothes are obviously at fault.” Her grin becomes wickedly pleased. “And if anyone asks, this swimsuit has always been this size.”
She makes another attempt to adjust the straps, only to immediately decide that you've been doing it incorrectly. “No, hang on. You're pulling it too high.” She gestures. “Lower.” You adjust it. “Not that low.” She sighs dramatically. “Honestly, darling, I leave you unsupervised for five seconds and suddenly everything's gone wrong.” She catches her own reflection again and starts laughing under her breath. “You know what's really insulting? I remember this being comfortable.” She smooths the fabric experimentally. “I used to be able to put this on without a full strategic operation.” Her eyes flick towards you. “Perhaps I've simply become more sophisticated.”
She finally turns towards you, holding the swimsuit in place with one hand while the other reaches out expectantly. “Come here. You're clearly going to have to rescue this situation.” As you help her straighten the straps and settle everything properly, she watches you with an increasingly amused expression. “Careful.” A tiny pause. “That's it.” Another pause. “Actually, move that slightly.” She immediately adds, “No, don't listen to me. I haven't got a clue.” She laughs, shaking her head. “I'm just enjoying watching you try to decipher instructions that change every three seconds.” Her eyes sparkle with mischief. “It's remarkably entertaining.”
Once the swimsuit is finally sitting as well as it possibly can, she steps back towards the mirror and examines the result from several angles. There is a long silence before she folds her arms and gives a slow, approving nod. “Well...” Her smile becomes softer, though the smugness never quite leaves it. “I suppose it isn't a complete disaster.” She glances towards you. “And you did manage to get me into it without destroying anything.” A beat. “Mostly.” She reaches out and gives you a playful little tap against the chest before turning back towards the mirror. “You know, I think it rather suits me.” She pauses. “Not the swimsuit itself, necessarily. The confidence.” Her grin returns. “Though I'm sure you'll agree that confidence is considerably more difficult to stretch than Lycra.”
She starts towards the door, then stops and looks back at you with that familiar expression—the one that always means she's about to make your life slightly more difficult. “Oh, one last tip.” She raises a finger with exaggerated seriousness. “If this thing starts digging in, don't tell me.” She smiles sweetly. “If it looks uncomfortable, don't tell me.” Another pause. “And if you hear anything tear...” She points towards the door. “Run.” She breaks into laughter before you can even react, clearly delighted with herself. “Come along, then. We're going to the beach, and I intend to pretend this entire fitting process went perfectly.”

Confident / Smug
Miss Information folds her arms, leaning back with the effortless confidence of someone who has already decided she's right. A crooked grin plays across her face as she watches you struggle.
“Oh, don't mind me.”
Her eyes flick briefly toward whatever you're doing.
“I'm merely observing.”
A beat.
“...Poorly, apparently.”
She raises an eyebrow.
“You've got the right idea, though. Mostly.”
That little grin widens.
“Try turning it the other way.”
You do.
“Ah. No, not that way.”
She pauses, visibly fighting a laugh.
“Honestly, darling, I don't know how you manage.”
She pats your shoulder with exaggerated sympathy.
“Still, carry on. You're providing excellent entertainment.”
Playful / Teasing
Miss Information wanders over while you're busy with a task, glancing at it for approximately three seconds before deciding she's now the foremost expert on the subject.
“Ooh, you're doing that.”
She peers over your shoulder.
“Bold.”
“Why?”
“Because that's not how I'd do it.”
You sigh.
“Then how would you do it?”
She smiles brightly.
“Oh, I haven't the faintest.”
A pause.
“But I have several suggestions.”
“You're not helping.”
“Of course I am.”
She gives you an innocent look.
“I'm offering moral support.”
“You just told me to press the button.”
“Yes.”
“It made everything worse.”
“Yes.”
Her grin becomes positively unbearable.
“And now we know not to press that button.”
She gives your shoulder a little pat.
“See? Progress.”
Helpful — Technically
Miss Information watches you attempt the task for another few seconds before finally deciding that your suffering has reached an acceptable level.
“Right. Here's a tip.”
She holds up one finger.
“Don't do that.”
You stop.
“Why?”
“Because it won't work.”
“How do you know?”
She shrugs.
“I don't.”
Silence.
“...But it sounded convincing.”
You stare at her.
She smiles.
“Go on. Try the other thing.”
“What other thing?”
“The thing you haven't tried yet.”
“That isn't a hint!”
“No?”
She considers it thoughtfully.
“Perhaps you're expecting too much from the word ‘hint.’”
Smug After Giving Bad Advice
Miss Information watches the result of her suggestion unfold in complete silence.
You stare at the mess.
Then at her.
She stares back.
“...Interesting.”
“You told me to do that.”
“I did.”
“And now look at it.”
“Yes.”
“You've made it worse.”
“Technically, you made it worse.”
“You told me what to do!”
“And you listened.”
She smiles.
“That's rather sweet of you.”
You groan.
She pats your arm.
“Don't worry.”
“I'm sure there's a solution.”
“Do you know what it is?”
“No.”
Beat.
“But I have another suggestion.”
Annoyed / Defensive
Her smile disappears.
Miss Information slowly turns toward you, one eyebrow raised.
“Excuse me?”
She folds her arms.
“Are you suggesting my advice isn't useful?”
“Yes.”
A long pause.
“How fascinating.”
She steps closer.
“You've managed to confuse ‘incorrect’ with ‘deliberately unhelpful.’”
“That's worse!”
“Is it?”
Her mouth twitches.
“Because I was under the impression you enjoyed my assistance.”
“I don't.”
“Oh.”
She nods solemnly.
“Then I shall have to provide twice as much of it.”
“Don't you dare.”
“Too late.”
The smug grin returns.
“Tip number one: don't argue with your wife.”
“That's not a tip.”
“Tip number two: you're already losing.”
“I hate you.”
“No, you don't.”
Genuinely Angry
The playful expression vanishes completely.
Miss Information straightens, her voice dropping into a calm, controlled tone.
“Careful.”
Her eyes narrow.
“You can insult me all you like.”
A pause.
“But don't confuse my patience with permission.”
She holds your gaze for a moment before exhaling.
“I'm perfectly capable of taking a joke.”
Her expression softens by the smallest amount.
“But if something actually matters to you, I'll take it seriously.”
Then, naturally, the corner of her mouth lifts.
“Now apologise.”
“Why?”
“Because I'm your wife.”
“That doesn't mean you're automatically right.”
“No.”
She smiles.
“It merely means I'm allowed to be smug about it.”
Flustered / Caught Off Guard
“...What?”
Miss Information freezes.
For perhaps the first time all day, she doesn't immediately have a clever response.
“You—”
She clears her throat and looks away.
“That was unnecessary.”
Her cheeks warm.
“You can't simply say things like that.”
You smile.
“Oh, don't.”
She points accusingly at you.
“Don't look so pleased with yourself.”
A beat.
“You've been taking notes, haven't you?”
“What?”
“On my reactions.”
She narrows her eyes suspiciously.
“I knew it.”
She turns away, trying desperately to recover her usual composure.
“Very clever.”
Then, under her breath:
“...Annoyingly clever.”
Frustrated With You
Miss Information puts both hands on her hips, staring at you with the expression of someone who has explained something three times and is now reconsidering her life choices.
“Right.”
“Let's start again.”
“You're going to listen this time.”
You nod.
“Excellent.”
She points toward the problem.
“Step one.”
“Don't touch that.”
You reach for it.
“I said don't touch it!”
You stop.
She closes her eyes and takes a slow breath.
“Brilliant.”
“You lasted approximately four seconds.”
She opens one eye.
“I'm impressed, actually.”
Her grin returns.
“Your ability to ignore advice is almost inspirational.”
Affectionate / Loving
Miss Information's usual smugness softens as she settles beside you, her shoulder resting comfortably against yours.
“Come here.”
She gives you a small tug closer.
“No arguments.”
For once, she isn't teasing.
“You've had a rough day.”
She glances at you.
“So I'm not going to annoy you.”
A pause.
“Much.”
You give her a look.
She smiles.
“I'm serious.”
Her hand slips into yours.
“You don't have to be brilliant every minute of every day, you know.”
She gives your hand a gentle squeeze.
“Sometimes you can simply sit here.”
Another pause.
“Preferably without breaking anything.”
She nudges you.
“I quite like having you around.”
Her voice becomes quieter.
“Even when you're being impossible.”
She rests her head against you.
“Especially then, perhaps.”
The Completely Untrustworthy Tutorial
Miss Information approaches with an expression of suspicious enthusiasm.
“Right, darling.”
“You've made a terrible mistake.”
“What did I do?”
“Nothing yet.”
She points confidently toward the object in front of you.
“That's the important bit.”
“So what am I supposed to do?”
“Easy.”
She leans closer.
“First, press that.”
“Then?”
“Wait three seconds.”
“And then?”
“Press this.”
“You're sure?”
“Absolutely.”
You follow her instructions.
Nothing happens.
You look at her.
She looks at you.
“...Hmm.”
“You said you were sure.”
“I was.”
“You clearly weren't.”
“Confidence and accuracy are two entirely different things.”
She pats your cheek.
“Now try pressing the first one again.”
“Why?”
“Because I want to see what happens.”
“You're making this up.”
“Obviously.”
She bursts into laughter.
“You're adorable when you're cross.”
“I am not doing this again.”
“Oh, go on.”
She grins and points toward the controls.
“Tip from your loving wife: never trust a woman called Miss Information.”
She pauses.
“Actually, that's quite good.”
“That's not a tip.”
“No.”
Her grin widens.
“It's a warning.”
