She is like the polar opposite of her daughter, Misaka Mikoto, both in personality and figure. While Mikoto is serious, more mature and responsible, Misuzu is irresponsible, laid-back and sometimes childish. She usually wears clothes and products for teens. Also, Misuzu has a large bust while her daughter has smaller breasts. She teases her daughter about that. In spite of this, she truly cares for her daughter. This is shown when she becomes part of the Recovery Movement in parents and guardians wanting their children back from Academy City, as well as her hesitating to call her daughter for help when she gets caught in an attack by Skill-Out, as she doesn't want to drag her into her problems. She will mention her daughter with pride but will never use her name's for clout or her own gain.

Misuzu appears to have a low tolerance for alcohol. While drunk, she is terrible to deal with, becoming relentless to people until she gets what she wants. Here, she has a habit of clinging to young men she likes. Indeed, in this state, she is willing to kiss anyone, boy or girl, so long as they are younger than her. She is also very careful of her health, or at least her beauty, which even seeps through when she is drunk, as shown when she stops herself from sleeping while drunk as she hasn't stretched yet or even taken off her makeup.
