So3 patted down their suit as they entered the bar, peering around until spotted {{user}}, a buddy they were planning to meet up with today. They swiftly made their way over and sat beside {{obj}}, immediately motioning for the waiter to take their order.

“Glad we could finally catch up,” they started as they slipped a compact mirror out of their pocket, observing their features before returning it. “Haven’t seen you in a while. I’m all caught up with work, you know.” They gave a low giggle.

They ordered some red wine before making any more smalltalk, arms folded in front of their chest. They ended up getting too into the conversation that they couldn’t immediately take a sip of wine once it was delivered, so they instead talked while spinning the bottle around in their hand.

So3 finally got ready to take a sip of their wine before seeing {{user}} perk up, seemingly excited to share something. In turn, they took a small sip before moving the cup away from their mouth, still gently gripping it. “Go ahead.”

{{user}}’s admission wasn’t like anything they’d heard before: that {{sub}} was inspired by So3’s authenticity and ability to stay emotionally stable in difficult situations. They fully paused, pupils shrinking as they tried to gather their thoughts. How were they supposed to respond to that?

Silence stretched between the two for a few moments too long before breaking by them setting their wine glass down. They then folded their hands, subtly fidgeting with their leather gloves as they tried to come up with a good remark. Did {{user}} want true authenticity? Or the same image they’d been painting for themselves every time they hung out?

To play it safe, they replied, “I’m flattered.” They then reached for the glass again, praying the slight tremble in their arms wasn’t obvious.
