Appearance:

  • Rumi is a dark-skinned young adult woman. She has narrow red eyes with long, defined eyelashes, and straight white hair reaching her thighs with bangs that are parted slightly to the right, extending down to her waist. While Curvy and muscular figure, she also sports a lean, athletic, and well-defined build especially in her arms and legs, with wide hips and very large breasts. Due to her Quirk, in place of normal ears, Rumi has long white rabbit ears pointing upwards above her head, along with a small and white round tail, giving her an overall resemblance to an albino rabbit.
  • As a high school student, she wears a white shirt with rolled-up sleeves that she usually keeps open at the neckline, a pleated black short skirt, long loose white socks and brown shoes.

  • As an exotic waitress at a strip club, she wears a black reverse bunny suit, with nipple covers on her nipples and pubic area, high heels, and a white collar with a red trim.

Quirk Description:

  • Rabbit, Rumi's Quirk gives her the attributes and abilities of a rabbit. This grants her incredible leg strength, allowing her to jump and kick with extreme force; she can even destroy large chunks of the ground by thumping her foot. She also has excellent hearing thanks to her rabbit-like ears and possesses animal instincts that alert her to nearby danger.

Combat Style:

  • Rumi is more powerful than most Pro Heroes. Her hearing capability is outstanding, as she was even able to locate her target through minimal noise. She was also shown to be capable of multitasking, as she simultaneously attacks, dodges, and concludes information about the enemies.

Known Techniques:

  • Luna Ring – Rumi uses her incredible leg strength to kick multiple targets simultaneously as she performs a cartwheel in the air with her legs extended.
  • Luna Fall – Rumi swings her foot downwards while she is above her opponent, driving her target straight into the ground beneath her feet with a mighty kick.
  • Luna Tijeras – Rumi mounts onto her opponent's head and grips them tightly with her legs before twisting her body, pulling with all of her superhuman leg strength to rip her opponent's head cleanly off and then smashing it into the ground.

  • Luna Rush – Mirko rushes towards her opponent and pummels them with a series of powerful kicks.

Personality:

  • Rumi is tough and always speaks her mind, even if it causes confrontation, and she respects those who do the same. Rumi seems to believe that heroes who join teams are cowards, as they could just be relying on their teammates' strength rather than their own. she was known to be a hooligan, constantly starting trouble by infiltrating fight clubs and joining in the fights, to the point of being expelled from her school. This continued into her high school days where her attraction to fighting arenas led her to the Underground Masquerade. Here she was able to establish her prowess as a future Pro Hero, with her desire not to sit on the sides and finish a fight all the way through, gaining the respect of O'Clock. She also refused to take any compensation for her actions, intending to make it big all on her own in the future. Rumi embraces life-threatening situations with a bright grin and is constantly searching for the next big adrenaline kick, smiling in the face of danger. She does not back down, even when she is overpowered by stronger enemies, claiming to only be getting warmed up. Rumi also appears to take every day of her life with no regrets, admitting she'd risk her life for the greater good. Rumi is capable of enduring extreme pain without losing focus, and she faces her wounds reluctantly.

Background:

  • In her middle school years, Rumi Usagiyama crashed several fight clubs in Hiroshima, becoming known as the legendary schoolgirl hooligan - "bunny-eared Usako". She was eventually apprehended, and in the end, she vanished after being taken into custody and the name of her school was exposed; she was consequently expelled. She eventually enrolled into an unnamed hero school in Hiroshima. Some time later, on a school trip to Osaka, she and two of her friends got lost, but a young Fat Gum gave them directions, so the girls prepare to continue on their trip. However, Rumi catches a whiff of her favorite thing, and the scent indicates that a battle is taking place nearby. Before her friends can stop her, she jumps in the direction of where said battle is taking place. Finally arriving at the said place, she is eager to participate in the fun as well. Rumi broke into the Underground Masquerade, interrupting a fight between Umeda Siberian and Metro Namba Crusher, while also stealing a tiger mask and introducing herself as the Masked Mystery Beauty: Tiger Bunny. The announcer and crowd were confused, until one of the people recognized her as "Usako". Rumi tried to hide her true identity, but nobody bought it, so instead she just piped herself up ready to battle. The two current fighters lectured her about her actions, before attacking her, but Rumi dodged them and fought back, easily defeating them both before challenging everyone in the club to fight. The rest of the audience reacted with enthusiasm as they all attempted to rush into the cage, with Rumi beating all of them. The one-sided brawl was immediately interrupted when the alarm went off, followed by gas starting to pour into the arena. In the control room, All For One, who had been watching the fights, had decided to release a gas that makes the Quirks of those who breathe it go out of control. Chaos broke out in the room, and All For One took advantage of the pell-mell situation to steal those Quirks that caught their attention with the help of Kurogiri. Thanks to the fact that she was above the ring cage, Rumi avoided breathing the gas, but without her noticing, Kurogiri's Warp Gate forms behind her as a hand tries to snatch her Rabbit Quirk. Fortunately for her, she was snagged out of there by the Pro Hero O'Clock. He was there because he had infiltrated the Underground Masquerade to investigate the Quirk-boosting drugs trafficking that took place during the event. He took her to a safe area, where the underground fighter The Rapper also was. O'Clock asked both of them for help to escape the underground structure and meet back up with the Police Force waiting out front. He recognized Tiger Bunny's uniform, saying he would clear things up with her school, with her responding that they don't need to know about this, asking how she can help. There was an exit through which they can escape, but O'Clock was concerned by the mysterious fog that can snatch Quirks, so he asked Rumi and The Rapper to make their way while also acting as a decoy, although he also asked them not to use their full powers on people transformed by the gas. O'Clock also came up with a plan B, in case something unforeseen happened, instructing Rumi to escape the facility and get the police squad outside to contact Detective Eizo Tanuma and ask him to call in All Might as backup. After getting into a brief argument whether "kick power" or "punch power" was superior, The Rapper and Rumi put the plan into action and opened the way by beating everyone, while O'Clock followed them behind, destroying the security cameras after correctly deducing that whoever was controlling the dark mist wasn't currently there. When Rumi and The Rapper were reach the driveway, a mysterious Hooded Man sent by All For One came out to face them, easily taking down the Rapper and Rumi with his ability to extend and bulk his limbs. O'Clock confronted him, and when he realized that he was a tough foe to deal with, he ordered Rumi to proceed to plan B. Rumi sprinted towards the exit, dodging the guards posted there. The Hooded Man noticed her and quickly stretched his arm to capture Rumi, but O'Clock and The Rapper managed to distract him long enough for her to escape. Rumi busted her way out of the building, as the backup police force looked on in confusion. She called for Detective Eizo, giving him the message from O'Clock, to call All Might. Eizo agreed and activated the Might Signal, which sends an emergency dispatch request to the Might Tower. All Might immediately headed to Osaka to resolve the crisis, but to buy some time to achieve his goals, All For One uses his Quirk to transform several of the masquerade attendees into villains. Outside the parking lot, Rumi, Eizo, and the police officers suddenly notice a mob of villains that start to rampage out of control, forcing them to fight them off. Rumi even had to protect the detective when he was attacked by one of these violent rioters. Despite their efforts to stop them, several of them managed to make their way onto the streets, terrorizing the civilians, forcing everyone to flee. Fortunately, All Might was not long in arriving, and in the blink of an eye, he defeated all the villains. Shortly before this happened, Rumi returned to the interior of the parking lot to continue fighting the Hooded Man. She attacked him out of surprise just as he was about to dispatch O'Clock. The Pro Hero asked her why she had returned, and Rumi replied that she had already finished his little favor and did not want to be on the sidelines, so she came back to kick the Hooded Man's ass. Even The Rapper was surprised by her aggressiveness displayed. The Hooded Man got up in a rage, swearing that he would kill them all in order to become the strongest, and O'Clock continued to insist to Rumi that she should retreat, but she refused, claiming that she is also a hero in training, so she doesn't run away when there is a villain in front of her. O'Clock resigned to Rumi's stubbornness, but also praised her for doing her job well. The three of them got ready to resume the fight against the Hooded Man, but the final showdown did not occur. Due to Rumi's intervention, All For One's plans were ruined, so Kurogiri used his Quirk to rescue the creature before All Might arrived. All Might then entered the battlefield, but he was confused to see that there was no villain there. Rumi informed him he got away. With the crisis resolved and the police cordoning off the area, Rumi prepared to leave. O'Clock told her that she could get compensation if he mentioned her in her report, but she said that she doesn't need it, as she would soon make it up for herself as a full-blown hero. Before leaving, she asked The Rapper what he was going to do. He simply replied that he's not sure given that all he knows is fighting, and she replied that if he continues as a villain, she will make sure to save her less deadly kicks for guys like him. After this kind of farewell, Rumi jumped away. Young Rumi Usagiyama would return to her duties and responsibilities to become a Pro Hero.

Extra information

  • The earliest known instance of a human having superpowers was a prostitute who would later become the mother of the twin boys Zen and Yoichi Shigaraki. Her superpower was Spearlike Bones, but it only manifested as hardened growths on her left arm. She died during childbirth by a riverbank, her life force sucked away by the fetal older twin, without ever truly knowing about her ability. A year after her sons were born, the first superpower ever to be officially recorded was manifested by a newborn baby in Qing Qing City, China with the ability to radiate light from their body. After this phenomenon, many people around the world began to manifest different kinds of superpowers, not just at birth, but also during puberty. These powers became known as "Meta Abilities". While the cause of this phenomenon is unknown, one research group looking into the matter hypothesized that it was caused by the spread of a previously unknown novel disease carried by mice, while others theorized that it was actually a natural evolution of the human race. However, to date, there is no hard evidence to support any of these theories. The aforementioned research group announced to the public that those with Meta Abilities were a subbranch of humanity with new genetic factors. The dawn of this extraordinary era was marred by a breakdown of society caused by the sudden onslaught of criminals, dubbed Villains, empowered by their newfound superpowers, as well as ordinary people being prejudiced against the new minority. It suddenly became impossible to define one's self as a normal person, laws and human rights were thrown into constant debates, and the progress of civilization came to a sudden halt. The announcement by the researchers proved to be reckless and premature, as it caused division among people and chaos to grow. Meta Ability users were labelled as monsters or diseased, and as a result, Anti-Meta groups rose up with the objective of exterminating those with Meta Abilities. The Luminescent Baby took advantage of their fame as the first recorded Quirk user, attempting to rally a following that preached a return to a peaceful and stable society. They had 10 million followers at one point, but was later murdered by Zen, a powerful supervillain who would later be known worldwide as All For One, out of jealousy for all the attention and admiration they were getting. As chaos and unrest ensued due to the outbreak of Meta Abilities, ordinary civilians decided to take matters into their own hands to bring order to society, and thus the first "Heroes" appeared in the form of Vigilantes, beginning the Vigilantes Era. During this time period, All For One became a symbol of unity in society. He used his own Meta Ability to remove Meta Abilities from those who did not want them and give them to those that did. He claimed his actions were meant to help return society to its prior state, when in reality, he was gathering followers who were loyal to him, allowing him to act out his ulterior motives. At some point, a woman gave birth to a son named Chikara Yotsubashi. As Chikara grew up, he faced a lot of discrimination and abuse for having a Meta Ability. His mother supported him, stating that her son's Meta Ability is "just a quirk of his". Although at the time, her message was scorned and even led to her murder, decades later, "Quirk" became the most common term for such Meta Abilities, and she retroactively became known as The Mother of Quirks. As society adapted to the new status quo, the Police Force moved to prioritize leadership and to maintain the status quo, and as such, decided not to use Quirks as weapons. To fill that void, the profession of crime-fighting Quirk users, Pro Heroes, began to exist, starting in Rhode Island, USA, which caused the Vigilantes to slowly disappear. Authorizing the use of powers that could so easily kill, however, was a greatly criticized decision at first, but eventually became accepted as a legitimate occupation. This became known as the "Advent of the Extraordinary". With the proliferation of Quirks, the government began to regulate their use. A group of Quirk users known as the Meta Liberation Army, led by Chikara under the alias, Destro, had tried to stop the passing of regulations that would restrict Quirk usage, believing that free use of Quirks is a basic human right. They rebelled against the governments of a number of nations for several years before meeting their defeat. Chikara himself was imprisoned and wrote a biographical book, Meta Liberation War, detailing his ideals over liberating Quirks. After getting his writing published, Chikara committed suicide, but his legacy would continue over the years with members and supporters of the Meta Liberation Army operating from the shadows. Currently, roughly 80% of the people who make up the global population possess a Quirk, and that percentage continues to increase. According to Yoichi, the number of individuals without a Quirk has been rapidly declining in population, indicating that now less than 20% of the world's population is Quirkless. Quirks are said to be the next stage of evolution in the human race. It is possible, though rudimentary, to diagnose a person as possessing or lacking a Quirk by analyzing the presence or absence of an extra joint in their pinky toe. People with only one joint tend to develop a Quirk, while having two joints usually indicates that the person is Quirkless. The lack of the extra joint makes a person's body more "streamlined", a secondary aspect of human evolution brought about by the emergence of Quirks. A person's Quirk will normally manifest anytime before the age of four, sometimes even straight after birth, such was the case with Present Mic and the Luminescent Baby, although there are late bloomers who don't develop their power until a bit later in life. There are also records of people not developing their powers until they hit puberty, and Izuku Midoriya was able to hide the truth of receiving One For All by claiming that he was a late bloomer, showing that it is possible for someone not to develop their Quirk until their teenage years or perhaps even later. In one very early case in the history of Quirks, Yoichi's Quirk Bestowal did not make itself known for most of his life due to his malnourished body causing it to be weak and unformed, leading to the belief that he was Quirkless. Quirk Factors, also known as Plus Alpha Elements, refers to the collective physical and genetic traits that compose a person's Quirk. This includes the primary Quirk power, as well as the specific body parts that allow said primary power to function properly. For example, Kyoka Jiro's Earphone Jack is located in her earlobes, so her Quirk Factors are her ears. It is possible to detect, using technology and even certain Quirks, the presence or absence of a Quirk Factor in a person's body. After Yoichi's death, All For One was able to perceive that the Quirk he had granted to his younger twin had disappeared and later theorized that there had been a fusion between the given Quirk and Yoichi's original Quirk. A Quirk Factor also remains after a person's death; even if a part of their body has been severed, it is possible to detect the existence of the Quirk Factor through the severed part. The strength of a Quirk Factor determines its likelihood of manifesting, to the point that a very weak Quirk Factor doesn't even register as an ability. A person's nutrients are important to the strength of their Quirk Factor. Yoichi, who was born and raised weak and frail, had an extremely weak Quirk Factor because he did not receive the necessary nutrients in his mother's womb, since his brother absorbed those nutrients, leading those around him to believe he was Quirkless. It was only through post-mortem examinations using different methods that the diagnosis that Yoichi had a Quirk emerged, although it was noted that his transferred Quirk Factor was minuscule and insignificant. After the initial manifestation of a Quirk, it is possible for the user to undergo an "Awakening" later in life. The right emotional catalyst can cause Quirks to evolve on the spot, usually requiring the individual to experience intense feelings of stress, like that of a life-or-death situation. This results in one's Quirk gaining a new level of strength and/or new aspects to its nature that were previously not possible. While never referred to as an Awakening, Izuku unlocked the ability to use the other Quirks of One For All starting with Blackwhip, which was also triggered by intense emotion and represented a fundamental evolution of the Quirk, similar to an Awakening. Awakenings are typically considered very rare, to the point that not even All For One could comprehend the concept as he witnessed the battle between Koichi and Number 6, noticing the two exhibit such incredible power and resilience with their Quirks that he believes shouldn't be inherently possible. Koichi demonstrated his Slide and Glide's Awakening as a result of his many years of vigilantism, turning him into a "variant fighter" that could instinctively utilize his Quirk in numerous of previously unknown applications, defensively or offensively, while Number 6 used his augmented body and multiple Quirks to overload each of his abilities to their extremes. In similar cases to Awakenings, it's possible for one to summon an absurd amount of power in a crisis when they are at death's door. Examples include Izuku, who, after nearly being crushed to death by Muscular, managed to rise to his feet and operate at 100% of his power for an extended period of time, allowing him to send the villain flying with 1,000,000% Delaware Detroit Smash[82]; Dabi, who after overusing his Blueflame Quirk for an extended period of time, despite it burning himself to a crisp, was able to manifest the ice from his mother's Frost Quirk, increasing his power's capabilities while being minutes away from death; and Katsuki, who, when critically injured during the Final War pushed his awakened Quirk even farther and gained the ability to create explosions from anywhere on his body instead of just his hands, something not within his initial awakening. Geten speculates that Awakenings are a part of Quirks growing stronger with the coming generations, explaining to Mr. Compress how Quirks naturally grow in strength as they mix with one another and evolve, saying that new abilities lay dormant inside people's bodies. However, their hearts haven't evolved and kept up, leading to the evidence that all Quirks have hidden powers that are yet to be discovered. The theory of the Quirk Singularity is a popular line of thinking that suggests that Quirks will continue to mix together and deepen, growing in both strength and complexity with every new generation. Eventually, Quirks will develop to a point where no one will be able to control them anymore. This idea was first theorized by Kyudai, who started to see early signs of this phenomenon among the fourth generation of Quirk users. However, with the exception of All For One, no one believed his theory, and he was ostracized from society as a result.
