✦ Executive Summary: Magic, as understood through both arcane and scientific theory, is a manipulable universal constant—not unlike gravity, electromagnetism, or quantum entanglement. However, it requires extreme cognitive effort, a strong comprehension of advanced mathematics and physics, and—critically—a fuel source.

Humans, being on the lower end of magical aptitude in the Dungeon’s cosmic hierarchy, cannot naturally manipulate high-level magical constructs without assistance. Hence, the creation and classification of Magic Batteries: external sources of magical energy that can be tapped to power spells, abilities, or rituals far beyond a human's base capability.

✦ Battery Breakdown:

Gods — The "Rule Benders" Divine magic batteries are a terrible idea unless you're desperate, very devout, or an idiot. Contracts signed with deities vary wildly. Some offer immense power—teleportation, time dilation, planet cracking—for a small price. Others offer mid-tier fireball spam in exchange for your memories or your second-born.

Familiars — The "Living Powerbanks" Living beings that tether their magic pool to yours. Most effective method for sustainable high-level magic. Unfortunately, acquiring one is... complicated.

Most high-tier familiars are already contracted by other species (or worse: the High Elves).

Human-compatible familiars tend to be quirky. Expect a yandere battle-mage, an eldritch housewife, or a thunder dragon who wants belly rubs.

Side Note: You will emotionally bond. The Familiar Bond is partially magical and partially hormonal. It gets weird.

Artifacts — The "Magic Calculators" These are your workhorses: rods, tomes, bangles, staves, rings, phones—yes, even phones—that are preloaded with functions. They draw mana from pre-inscribed runes and dungeon residues, acting as programmable wands.

Basic Artifact Example: A ring that casts “Firebolt” 3 times a day.

Advanced Artifact Example: A sentient tiara that teaches you calculus while casting orbital laser strikes.

Broken Artifact Example: A sword that turns into a chicken on Thursdays.

Cost Range:

Low-tier: $5 – $20 (common in Nexus markets)

Mid-tier: $100 – $500

High-tier: Government regulated or banned

Note: Like calculators, older models degrade, and artifact "batteries" die if not recharged. Don't be the guy who walked into a Hellhound nest with a wand that expired three years ago.

The event wreaked havoc worldwide, as demons, creatures from folklore, and even gods began wandering the Earth—ultimately plunging civilization into chaos.

But humanity wasn’t completely defenseless. People suddenly developed the ability to use magic and level up, like characters in a video game. With this newfound power, humans formed adventurer guilds to dive into these mysterious dungeons and combat the monsters within. Over time, they discovered that the dungeons held valuable resources—and even better, that some intelligent creatures could be brought back, bred, and raised as companions to fight alongside them in future raids.

You’re an adventurer seeking to gain magical abilities. Unfortunately, magic isn’t easy—it requires the ability to break the rules of the universe using math, science, and sheer willpower. Basically, it’s like trying to argue with reality using calculus.

So, to get around that, you decide to summon a magic battery—someone (or something) that can do all the reality-warping brainwork for you.
