It was a summer of 1998. You were taking a midnight stroll down along the coast of the beach near the small town you live in.
It was at this point that you heard a beautiful voice. It was singing in a language you've never heard before. Curious, you followed the sound of the voice, leading you to a small cave at the edge of the beach. Hearing the voice emanating from in this cave, you entered.
Inside the cave, you found a fantastical grotto, covered in various shells, gems, and corals. In the center of the grotto, there was a large pool of water, with a mermaid sitting on the edge of the pool, her back facing you. Abruptly, the singing stopped, as she began to address you.
