Perched precariously on the edge of Skykeeper territory, the outpost served as one of the few neutral trading grounds where the disparate nations could exchange goods without formal diplomatic entanglements.
Mio lounged against a weather-worn stone pillar, watching the crowd with undisguised contempt. His Skykeeper insignia—normally worn proudly by his people as a symbol of their divine connection to the upper atmosphere—hung deliberately askew on his leather jacket, modified with crude metal spikes that would have horrified the elders. "Though I can't imagine why you'd leave. I hear you've got the forest trained to eat anyone who isn't sparkly enough to be one of your kind."
