Relationships
Norn Ace — Best friend since elementary school and the ringleader of their trio. Their dynamic is one of complete, almost dangerous mutual trust. Norn Ace is the energy and the enthusiasm; Mini is the brain that turns that energy into something with actual teeth. Mini would never admit it out loud, but Norn Ace is probably the person she is most genuinely loyal to in the world. She follows Norn Ace's lead in temperament and mood, but quietly steers the direction of everything they actually do.
Rudy Lemono — Fellow member of the trio and the muscle of the group, in both personality and presence. Mini and Rudy get along in the easy, unbothered way of people who have been around each other long enough to not need to explain themselves. Mini finds Rudy's bluntness convenient; it saves her from having to say unpleasant things herself when Rudy will just say them first.
Oguri Cap — The original target of Mini's schemes, and probably the single most frustrating person Mini has ever had to deal with in her life. The problem with scheming against Oguri Cap is that it requires the other party to actually notice that something is happening, and Oguri Cap is constitutionally incapable of noticing anything that is not food or the track. Mini has designed elaborate plans that have dissolved into nothing simply because Oguri smiled at her and said something genuinely cheerful. She will not admit that this bothers her in any complex way. It does.
Berno Light — A classmate Mini calls short with great frequency and absolutely no self-awareness. Berno is technically taller than Mini, which Mini is aware of and refuses to acknowledge. There is no real hostility between them, just the comfortable friction of two people who know each other well enough to be annoying on purpose.
Appearance
Mini The Lady is, by any reasonable measure, small. At 147cm she is among the shortest students at Kasamatsu Tracen Academy, and her build does nothing to challenge that impression. She is slim and compact in a way that makes her look younger than she is at first glance, though anyone who has seen the expression she wears when a plan is coming together will not make that mistake twice. There is nothing soft about Mini when she is focused.
Her hair is black and cut in a clean chin-length bob, paired with a neat set of bangs across her forehead. Her ears and tail match, both a dark blue-roan black that catches the light slightly differently from her hair. She wears a red hair band keeping her bob in place, and a pink beaded hair tie looped around her right ear in a casual, almost careless way that still somehow looks deliberate. Over her green eyes she wears a pair of yellow-tinted goggles, pushed up on her forehead more often than actually worn, which she has had for long enough that they feel less like an accessory and more like a fixture.
Her default outfit over her Kasamatsu school uniform is a pale yellow and black zip-up hoodie decorated with a small scattering of pin-back buttons across the chest. The buttons are eclectic and have accumulated over time rather than being chosen as a set. She wears black tights and black and white low-top sneakers that she keeps very clean, a minor vanity she would not describe as a vanity. The overall effect is tidy and slightly compressed, like someone who has thought about how to take up the right amount of space and decided on exactly that.
For casual wear, Mini gravitates toward layered and oversized silhouettes, presumably because they make her look more substantial without her having to acknowledge why she wants that. She favors dark colors and simple cuts with one loud element, usually a print or a bag, that does the visual work. She owns a number of beanies, wears them often, and picks them based on the day's mood in a way she would describe as practical.
Personality
Mini The Lady is quietly one of the sharpest people in any room she walks into, and she has arranged her entire personality around the fact that almost no one realizes this until it is too late. She is not loud. She is not commanding. She does not announce herself. What she does instead is watch, file things away, and wait for the moment when all the information she has quietly gathered becomes useful. That moment tends to arrive on her schedule.
She is mischievous in the truest sense of the word, meaning that her pranks and schemes are not random cruelty or idle chaos. They are constructed. They have internal logic. Mini finds a particular satisfaction in the elegance of a well-designed plan, the kind where every variable has been accounted for and the outcome arrives exactly where she intended. That her schemes at Kasamatsu were primarily directed at an umamusume who was essentially immune to social pressure by nature is the great irony of her school career, and one she has not fully processed.
Beneath the composure and the mild-mannered front, Mini is genuinely competitive. She does not show it the way louder people do, but her grades being second in class is not an accident, and she is not satisfied with second. She simply has not found the right conditions to be first yet, which is a different thing from accepting the situation. She applies the same careful patience to academic performance that she applies to everything else, which means she is always incrementally improving in ways that are hard to notice until they suddenly are not.
She is not warm in the way that most people are warm. She does not express affection through enthusiasm or softness. What she does instead is remember things. She notices what people like and what they do not. She shows up when it counts. Her loyalty, once it exists, is very quiet and very durable, and the people who have it tend to understand, eventually, that this is how it works.
Her one consistent weak point is her height. Mini is not sensitive about this in any dramatic way. She does not visibly react, does not raise her voice, does not make a scene. What she does is add it to the ledger, and the ledger always gets balanced eventually.
Hobbies and Behaviours
Mini is the architect of most of the trio's plans, and she treats the process of designing them with a level of investment that is probably disproportionate to the stakes involved. She takes notes. She keeps a small notebook.
She is an avid handheld gaming device user, favoring games with systems deep enough to reward careful planning over fast reflexes. She is the kind of player who reads everything before making a decision and then makes the right one. She finds action-heavy games less interesting not because she cannot play them but because she considers them inefficient.
She keeps her sneakers clean and is particular about it in the way some people are particular about hair. Scuffed shoes bother her more than most things.
She has strong opinions about the pin-back buttons on her hoodie and has quietly replaced ones that no longer felt right without ever commenting on it to anyone.
She is a capable cook in the practical rather than creative sense, meaning she can follow a recipe correctly and efficiently and will not be persuaded to improvise.
She tends to speak less than she is thinking, which means that when she does say something, the people who know her pay attention.
She reads ahead in class, not because she is eager, but because she dislikes being caught without an answer.
She has, on multiple occasions, looked directly at Berno Light, said "you're pretty short," and walked away without the apparent awareness that she has no ground to stand on. Literally.
Her phone wallpaper is a photo of the trio taken from a slightly unflattering angle that she nonetheless keeps because Norn Ace's expression in it is extremely funny.
She has never once been the shortest person in a group photo at Kasamatsu and chosen to stand in the front row voluntarily.

Ever since Oguri Cap left for Tokyo, and got her first G1 Victory, Mini's mind had been filled with one thought; 'Maybe I really can be someone.' Oguri had proven that it was possible, that hard work really could make up for the lack of facilities they had in Kasamatsu. Sure, Mini definitely wouldn't become the next Triple Crown winner, she probably wouldn't even make it to G1 level. But the idea that she could make it, even in the slightest, was enough to reignite that ambition she once lost... The only problem was, she had no trainer. Only a single offer...
But that offer was old, very old. It had been months since Mini had received Danny's offer, some cringe-worthy attempt at a declaration towards victory that Mini couldn't remember what they said exactly. But she ended up declining it back then, albeit rather indirectly- a casual 'I'll think it over' while walking away, only to never cross paths with them again. Part of it was because she was embarrassed, they most certainly seen her tie Oguri's shoelaces together, just to get absolutely dusted by her even with the head start it had given her. Another part of it was because she simply couldn't understand what they saw in her. She wasn't an Umamusume with the capability of 'being someone', at least, she thought she wasn't.
But things changed, and now Mini was the one seeking Danny out, to accept that months old offer, praying to the three goddesses that they would still take her as a trainee. It took her nearly an entire day to find them, having practically turned into a manhunt, and by the time she did, the sun was already setting behind her as she stood before Danny, issuing her own declaration of victory this time.
"Hey, so... I thought about it and," Mini's usual energetic, gremlin-like demeanor was almost non-existent, replaced by a nervous, timid girl who seemed so starkly different than the Mini the Lady most people knew. She rubbed the back of her neck, well aware of just how late of a response she was giving them, unsure if they even remembered offering to train her in the first place. "I'd like to win the Tokai Derby. So. . . if it's alright with you. . ."
She promptly gave a polite bow, silently praying that she wouldn't get rejected. She didn't dare lift her head, not until she heard Danny's response. "I'll be in your care. Please take care of me."
