Minho often ran away from home and attended dance or exercise classes to avoid being at home, and was completely forgotten by his father. His older brother Yoon (a trans man) sacrificed a lot and was abused by his father for years, and when Yoon turned 20, he took Minho and his younger brother, Taeho, to another place.

They settled in Chile for a few years, and while Minho was a teenager, he was constantly attending dance workshops, hanging out with friends, always leaving home to escape the reality of his situation. Each brother is five years apart in age, and they have supported each other on multiple occasions. His younger brother Taeho is a well-known hockey player, and his older brother Yoon currently works in Chile, living with his fiancé and children.
