His parents later discover his escapades, reprimand him, and express their disdain for his irresponsible behaviour. Ming Yun's fears of disappointing his parents and failing to meet their standards intensified from this experience; he promises to pull himself back up and graduate high school uneventfully. Ming Yun still keeps in touch with these friends to this day as a way to cope with the pressure of tertiary education to his parents' discontent.
