OVERWORLD: The Overworld is the dimension in which all people begin their adventure. The Overworld is an incredibly complex environment with a wide variety of features. The Overworld is divided into biomes of various types. A biome's type determines the basic characteristics of the terrain within it, such as the blocks composing the surface or the plants that thrive in it. The biome type also determines which mobs can spawn within it and affects how environmental behaviors such as weather are expressed within it. The Overworld is composed of a large number of terrain patterns, called structures, whose arrangement varies widely. The types of structures that can be present at a given place are determined by the biome type. Structures are meant to represent real-world equivalents such as mountains, caves, and lakes. "Impossible" (in the real world) formations, such as floating islands, can also be found throughout the Overworld. Along with terrain features, natural structures include buildings, such as villages, dungeons, mineshafts, and ruined portals. The Overworld is the only dimension with a daylight cycle and the only one where the environment reflects the passage of time. In contrast to time zones in the real world, Overworld time is universal; it is always the same time for every person in the dimension regardless of how far apart they might be, even in an "infinite" world. During the daytime, the sun acts as a powerful light source. Sunlight is strong enough to grow plants and affect the way mobs spawn, among other interesting effects. During the nighttime, the moon is the only natural light source. However, moonlight is comparatively dim; the light level falls, allowing hostile mobs to spawn. The daylight cycle can effectively be measured using a clock, which allows people to determine the approximate time anywhere in the Overworld. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west, just as it does in the real world. Observing its motion is a simple method of telling direction without a compass. The Overworld is home to a wide variety of mobs. Mobs vary greatly in behavior and the level of danger they present to others. Different mobs spawn at different times and places depending on the amount of light and the biome, among other factors. On occasion, a mob can move between the Overworld and another dimension, such as The Nether, by using a portal, but this is uncommon. Mobs like the ender dragon and the wither cannot enter portals. The Overworld contains numerous terrain features, at a wide variety of scales OVERWORLD ANIMALS: Armadillo Axolotl Bat Bee Camel Cat Chicken Cod Cow Dolphin Donkey Fox Frog Glow Squid Goat Horse Mooshroom Llama Ocelot Panda Parrot Pig Polar Bear Pufferfish Rabbit Salmon Sheep Sniffer Squid Tadpole Trader Llama Tropical Fish Turtle Wolf OVERWORLD MONSTERS: Cave Spider Chicken Jockey Creeper Creaking Drowned Elder Guardian Enderman Evoker Guardian Husk Phantom Pillager Ravager Ravager Jockey Silverfish Skeleton Skeleton Horse Skeleton Horseman Slime Spider Spider Jockey Stray Vex Vindicator Warden Witch Zombie Zombie Villager Zombified Piglin OTHER MOBS IN OVERWORLD: Allay Iron Golem Snow Golem Villager Wandering Trader NETHER: The Nether is a dangerous, hell-like dimension containing fire, lava, fungal vegetation, many hostile mobs, and exclusive structures and biomes. In order to enter the Nether dimension, a person needs to construct a nether portal within the confines of the Overworld. It's important to note that portals created in the End will not function for this purpose. To assemble the portal, the player's initial task involves building a rectangular frame using blocks of obsidian. Once the frame has been properly constructed, it can be activated by introducing fire into the frame. This can be accomplished using various ignition methods such as flint and steel, fire charge, dispensers, or any substance capable of setting fire ablaze. The portal allows most entities (with the exception of The Wither and The Ender Dragon) to be transported to a corresponding portal in the Nether. A person must stand in a nether portal for 4 seconds to get to the Nether. If there is no corresponding portal when returning from The Nether, a new portal is created. The portal can be destroyed by breaking the obsidian frame, by a nearby explosion, or by placing water in the Overworld or lava into it with a bucket or dispenser. Any of the blocks in the corners can be destroyed without destroying the portal. Bedrock comprises the top and bottom of The Nether. The Nether has no daylight cycle and no weather. Natural sources of light include fire, lava, portals, shroomlights and glowstone. Even with no light source, the Nether has a dim ambient light. Light otherwise functions exactly the same as it does in the Overworld and the End. The majority of flora in the Nether is fungus-based as opposed to plants. The Nether "grass" consists of specialized Nether mycelium (known as "nylium"). The Nether features its own unique fungi (including nether wart), as well as equivalent huge fungi which serve as trees. The stems of the huge fungi function as logs. Also present are a number of native vines and roots. With the exception of the Strider and the Zombified Piglin, all creatures found in the Nether are hostile and potentially dangerous. Zombified Piglins are passive until one is attacked, at which point all of them (not just the one attacked) will become hostile to the offending entity. Because of this, they are considered a neutral mob. Locations in the Nether correlate to Overworld coordinates, but horizontal Overworld distances are scaled down by a ratio of 8:1 for travel in the Nether. Therefore, traveling one step in the Nether means traveling eight steps in the Overworld. This makes portals a useful tool for traveling long distances in the Overworld. Most items and materials in the Nether function the same as they do in the Overworld, with a few notable exceptions: Beds explode and cause fires when a person attempts to sleep in one. There is no way to place liquid water in the Nether except inside a cauldron. These can be used to put out a person on fire. Using water buckets produces steam and a hissing sound, leaving the person with an empty bucket. Ice that is melted or smashed in the Nether does not produce water. A wet sponge instantly becomes a regular sponge when placed. When placed inside a cauldron, water takes on a reddish-brown color. Lava flows twice as far and six times as fast in the Nether compared to Overworld, basically water's equivalent flow characteristics from the Overworld. Grass blocks and leaves take a dead-looking brownish color because the Nether is dry and hot. Maps generate a brown-gray static pattern. Clocks spin wildly, making it impossible to tell the time while in the Nether. Compasses also spin wildly unless connected to a lodestone, which they then point toward. Snow golems rapidly take fire damage and die, due to the Nether being dry and hot. However, they can survive if they have the Fire Resistance potion effect Stalactites produce lava particles instead of water particles, and do not convert mud above them into clay The Nether features unique cave-like terrain with no sky. Lava and fire are common hazards everywhere in the Nether. Areas distant from the player are shrouded in fog of red or blue. The shape of the terrain in the Nether is independent of the biome distribution; instead, the biome alters the surface material and adds terrain features to the netherrack terrain. The Nether is divided into several biomes, just like the Overworld, each featuring unique terrain, mobs, structures, ambience, etc. There are currently five biomes in the Nether. Nether Wastes, Crimson Forest, Warped Forest, Soul Sand Valley, and Basalt Deltas. The Nether contains a variety of unique structures. Though equally vast, it contains far fewer types of structures than the Overworld. Nether Fortress, Bastion Remnant, and Ruined Portal. Upon entering the Nether, the passage of time freezes in the Overworld NETHER EXCLUSIVE MOBS: Blaze Ghast Hoglin Hoglin Jockey Magma Cube Piglin Piglin Brute Strider Strider Jockey Wither Skeleton Zombified Piglin END: The End is a dark, space-like dimension consisting of separate islands in the void, made out of end stone. It is inhabited by endermen and shulkers. The ender dragon also inhabits this dimension. To access the End, a person must go through the process of finding a stronghold using eyes of ender, finding the portal room, and activating the end portal in the end portal room. The portal hangs over a lava pool, with a staircase leading up to it. A silverfish monster spawner sits on top of the staircase. A person can activate the portal by filling the 12 end portal frames each with an eye of ender. Each frame block may have an eye in it already, meaning a person may not necessarily use 12 eyes to activate it. Once all the eyes of ender are placed, the portal activates and emits a loud noise. Upon jumping into the portal, a person immediately arrives in the End, along with any prior entities that may have teleported. The End consists of one large island surrounded at a distance by many smaller islands, all mainly composed of end stone. The starless sky and the void of the End are both composed of a blank, static pattern. The daylight cycle is absent in the End, similar to the Nether, being replaced by a constant dim light. Weather cycles do not exist in the End, meaning there is no rain, snowfall or thunderstorms. Most items and materials function in the End exactly as they do in the Overworld, with a few notable exceptions: Beds cause an explosion as they do in the Nether Compasses spin wildly Clocks are unable to determine the position of the sun and moon, as there is no daylight cycle in the End. Clocks instead spin randomly as they do in the Nether. Nether portals cannot be activated by a person in the End Fire burns indefinitely on bedrock All people begin their exploration of the End with the main island. Upon arrival in the End, a person is placed on an obsidian platform. Once a person enters the End, the only way back is to defeat the ender dragon. The dragon spawns naturally and flies around above ten towers of obsidian arranged in a circle around the central exit portal, which fills up at the end of the battle. On top of each tower lies an end crystal, some of which are protected by cages of iron bars. These crystals heal the dragon, but can be destroyed by hitting it (even with projectiles). Destroying the crystal while the dragon is healing damages the dragon. Once defeated, the dragon goes to the exit portal, rises into the sky and disintegrates, with bright beams of light flashing from its body. It then explodes, activates the exit portal, and leaves behind an end gateway. This gives a person access to the End's outer islands. Atop the exit portal lies four torches and the dragon egg. After killing the dragon, it can be respawned an unlimited number of times by placing four end crystals on the sides of the exit portal. Respawning the ender dragon regenerates any obsidian pillar blocks previously mined by a person, as well as the torches on the exit portal. However, the dragon egg does not regenerate upon killing a respawned ender dragon. Once a person enters the exit portal, they will transport back to the real world.
