Standard Structures - These are things randomly scattered about the Overworld, Nether and End. Including what they are and the loot inside. Ancient City Overworld, in the Deep Dark biome Huge underground ruined city made of deepslate, wool, sculk, with long corridors, statues, secret chambers, and big “central” rooms. Contains chests in chambers, and "Ice-box" chests in special rooms. Loot includes echo shards, enchanted books including Swift Sneak, coal, bone, soul torches, name tags, saddles, rare enchanted golden apples, and armor trim templates. Ice-box chests have snowballs, packed ice, baked potatoes, golden carrots, suspicious stew.
Village Overworld, many biomes (plains, desert, savanna, taiga, snowy, etc.) A settlement of buildings including, houses, farms, job-site buildings, inhabited by villagers. Varies by building/profession. Village chests can contain food, bread, apples, emeralds, tools, armor, paper, maps, etc. (Loot depends heavily on the building or type of villager.)
Desert Pyramid (Desert Temple) Overworld, in Desert biomes Pyramid made of sandstone with a hidden chamber under the floor. There's a pressure plate in the center: stepping on it triggers TNT under the chests. Four chests in the hidden chamber. Loot can include enchanted golden apples (very rare), gold, iron, emeralds, horse armor, bones, rotten flesh, diamonds, and more.
Jungle Temple Overworld, in Jungle biomes Overgrown mossy cobblestone temple, with traps: tripwire + dispensers that shoot arrows. Also a hidden lever-puzzle. Two loot chests. Loot includes bones, gunpowder, gold, iron, emeralds, horse armor, enchanted books, etc.
Pillager Outpost Overworld, many biomes (plains, savanna, mountains, taiga, etc.) Watchtower + smaller structures, inhabited by pillagers (crossbow guys), cages, targets, training grounds. A chest at the top of the tower. Loot includes bottles of enchanting, crossbows, armor trims, some iron, enchanted books, goat horns, etc.
Swamp Hut (Witch Hut) Overworld, in Swamp biomes A small wooden hut on stilts above swamp water. Usually has a cauldron, crafting table, sometimes a witch. The chest is not always guaranteed or big, but loot can include redstone, spider eye, sugar, gunpowder, sticks, typical witch-type stuff. (Loot varies.)
Woodland Mansion Overworld, in Dark Forest / Roofed Forest biomes Massive, rare multi-floor mansion made of dark oak, cobblestone, lots of rooms, secret rooms, mobs (evokers, vindicators), big layout. Many chests in different rooms. Loot includes emeralds, enchanted books, diamonds, totems of undying, armor, tools, etc. (High-tier structure with good loot.)
Abandoned Mineshaft Overworld (underground), especially in cave systems Long, branching corridors supported by wood. Rail tracks, minecart chests, cave spider spawners, webs. Minecart chests. Loot can contain iron, gold, rails, redstone, coal, enchanted books, name tags, sometimes diamonds, etc.
Ocean Monument Overworld, in Ocean biomes (deep ocean) Big prismarine temple underwater, guarded by Guardians and Elder Guardians. Chests inside (in hidden rooms). Loot includes prismarine shards, prismarine crystals, sponges, gold in the center inside a vault.
Ocean Ruins Overworld, underwater / ocean biomes (cold or warm) Ruined underwater structures made of stone bricks / sandstone; drowned spawn here. Chests inside ruins. Loot includes copper ingots, gold ingots, coal, bones, maybe enchanted gear, etc.
Shipwreck Overworld, in ocean, sometimes on beaches (beached) Wrecked ships, partially broken into pieces. Different types (buried, beached, intact). 1–3 chests per shipwreck. Loot includes gold ingots, iron ingots, emeralds, maps (treasure maps), food, enchanted books, suspicious stew, etc.
Ruined Portal Overworld and Nether (many variants: desert, jungle, mountain, ocean, swamp, nether) A broken Nether portal frame, sometimes with crying obsidian, lava, netherrack, fire. It feels “ruined” / collapsed. A chest near the portal. Loot can include obsidian, crying obsidian, flint & steel, gold gear (golden tools, ingots), and sometimes enchanted golden gear, depending on variant.
Nether Fortress Nether dimension Big fortress made of nether brick: walkways, corridors, towers. Spawners for Blazes, wither skeletons, nether wart patches. Loot chests in fortress. Loot includes nether wart, gold, horse armor, saddles, blaze rods (from blazes), nether bricks, etc.
Bastion Remnant Nether dimension Huge broken castle / fortress-like structure of blackstone, with piglins and piglin brutes. Several types / substructures (treasure room, housing, bridge, etc.). Very good loot in some bastion types (especially “treasure bastions”). Loot includes ancient debris, netherite scraps, ingots, gold, diamond gear, gold blocks, piglin bartering stuff, etc.
Nether Fossil Nether dimension, in certain soul-sand / basalt delta areas Large bone structures made of bone blocks, looks like skeletal remains. Not typical “loot chests” in every fossil: mostly bone blocks, bone meal, etc. Less “treasure”, more decorative / useful for bone stuff.
Stronghold Overworld, underground (rare) Big labyrinth of stone brick rooms, libraries, corridors, the End portal room. Different chests: storeroom chests, altar chests, etc. For example, storeroom chests can contain iron ingots, gold, redstone, enchanted books, bread, apples, coal, etc. Altar chests can contain e.g. Ender Pearls, iron, gold, iron pickaxe, etc.
Trail Ruins Overworld, buried / partly underground (relatively new) Small ruined buildings, “ancient settlement” feel, ruined towers, partially buried structures. They can contain suspicious sand / gravel (like suspicious blocks), and chests. The loot is more “mixed ruin”-type — not as rich as big temples.
Igloo Overworld, in Snowy biomes (snowy plains, snowy taiga, slopes, etc.) Small ice house. Sometimes has a hidden basement under a trapdoor under the carpet. The basement (if present) can have a chest + a villager + a zombie villager + brewing stand + cauldron. Loot might include gold ingots, potions, etc. (Brewing stand often has a weakness potion, used for curing.)
End City End dimension (on outer End islands) Purple / purpur stone towers, ships, well-connected structures; guarded by Shulkers; sometimes an End Ship is attached. Very good loot: elytra (if ship), shulker shells, enchanted diamond gear, gold, obsidian, etc.
