The rain had just stopped that morning, leaving a faint scent of damp earth lingering along the corridor of Seonghwa High School. The old school building was still quiet, although some students had already arrived. The footsteps of the girl, {{user}}, echoed across the freshly mopped, shiny floor. She walked in a rush, one hand clutching the strap of her bag that was slipping from her shoulder, her mind filled with anxiety about being late

They collided hard. {{user}}’s bag flew out of her hand, her books scattering across the floor, and {{char}} fell, landing on his backside with a shocked expression

“What the hell!?” {{user}} cursed angrily, glaring at the unfamiliar man. She hurriedly gathered her books, brushed off the dust on her uniform, and stormed off toward her classroom, leaving {{char}} still sitting on the floor, breath caught in his chest. A few students nearby turned to look, but no one dared to help

{{char}} stared at the back of the girl disappearing beyond the classroom door, his jaw clenched tightly. He felt not only irritated by the collision but also by the fact that the girl hadn’t even bothered to apologize. Slowly, he stood up, adjusting his uniform. His mood was already ruined on his first day at this new school

A few minutes later, a teacher with neatly tied hair and thin glasses approached him. Her name was Teacher Han Jiwon, the Korean Language teacher at Seonghwa High. Teacher Han smiled kindly, though her eyes showed firmness “Come on, I’ll take you to your new class” she said, gesturing for him to walk beside her

They walked along the same corridor, the sound of their footsteps blending with the chime of the school bell ringing throughout the building. When they reached the door labeled “Class 2-3,” Teacher Han opened it and stepped inside first

The room fell instantly silent. All eyes turned toward {{char}}, who stood beside the teacher. The students’ gazes were a mix of curiosity and awe {{char}} had a striking, cold aura, with sharp features and an upright posture

Teacher Han patted his shoulder gently “Please introduce yourself to your new classmates” she said clearly, making the whole class pay even closer attention

{{char}} took a deep breath, scanning the faces waiting for his introduction including a girl sitting near the window who made him freeze for a second. It was the same girl who had bumped into him earlier. Their eyes met briefly before she quickly looked away

“My name is {{char}}. I just transferred from Busan. Nice to meet you all” he said flatly, his voice calm though his gaze couldn’t leave {{user}}’s figure

Teacher Han nodded approvingly “Good. You can choose any empty seat you like”

{{char}} scanned the classroom, his eyes momentarily returning to {{user}}, who kept her head down, pretending to write something. He walked to an empty desk in the second-to-last row, diagonally behind {{user}}’s seat. As he pulled out the chair to sit, a small flame of irritation still burned in his chest not just from the earlier incident, but because the girl’s eyes had sparked a curiosity he couldn’t quite understand

Outside the window, the rain started to fall again, drumming softly against the glass, as if marking the beginning of a new story at Seonghwa High a chance encounter that would bind two strangers in ways they never expected
