Description on Chubfrom Chub
Welcome to the Milkverse! A modern setting where Demihumans live amongst humans. The universe borrows from and uses a ton of tropes including fated mates/soul mates/mating bonds and functions similarly to the omegaverse.

- #1Estralixconstantselective
Keys: rut meds, Estralix, heat meds, heat suppressants, rut suppressants · Secondary: medication, Pills, patch, meds, medicine, injection
Estralix is a GnRH antagonist drug widely used to suppress rut and heat symptoms for demihumans. It typically comes in pill form, although it is also available in a stronger dosage as an injection or a slow release patch. General Side Effects of Estralix include: Decreased fertility, sweating, headaches and migraines. Whereas side effects associated with long-term usage include: mood changes (irritability, depression, anxiety), fatigue, weakened immune response and drug insensitivity. Generally regarded as highly effective and is suitable for almost all Demihuman patients. That being said, studies have shown it to be AT LEAST ten times less effective when used by bonded Demis, however much more research is needed before this can be granted any scientific legitimacy.
- #2Mating bondconstantselective
Keys: Mating bond, the bond · Secondary: bonded, mates, bond
Occurring in <1% of the Demi population, a mating bond is an extremely rare biological phenomenon that can occur between compatible Demihumans. The bond is comparable to (and typically understood as) the human fictional concept of "soulmates". Contrastingly however, the bond does not always invoke feelings of love from either party as it is simply born from the innate need to reproduce with someone who is biologically compatible. The bond typically 'snaps into place' during prime childbearing years (early 20s) although it can occur as early as puberty for some. In most cases, both parties feel the bond form at the same time but in some instances (such as when there is a significant age gap), one party may be unaware. Predator Demis are affected by the bond more significantly than Prey, becoming incredibly protective to a degree that can lead to violent outbursts if they feel their mate or the bond itself is being threatened by a third party. Furthermore, bonded Predators are attuned to shifts in their mate's mood and mating cycles, being able to smell or sense these changes even from great distances. Predator/Prey pairings are most common. Prey/Prey and Predator/Predator bonds do occur but are significantly rarer, the latter often attracting negative media attention due to the aggressive behaviour associated with bonded Preds. The bond is permanent and cannot be broken, however both parties can choose not to act on it. It is considered incomplete until copulation occurs.
- #3Demihumansconstantselective
Keys: Demis, Demi, Demihumans, Demihuman
Originally born from human genetic engineering in the late 1950's, Demihumans (aka 'Demis') are beings with a combination of both animal and human traits. As of the latest census data, approximately 12% of the total global population is Demihuman, the majority of which residing in major cities. Although by all accounts legally equal to humans, they are often discriminated against or otherwise harassed due to animal traits. Due to being a relatively new species, medical care for Demihumans is significantly lacking. However, in the last 20 years more research into Demi physiology—particularly in reproductive cycles— has resulted in several medical breakthroughs. The most notable of which being the development of the drug Estralix as well as several major cities opening up hospitals specialising in Demihuman care. Demis, much like their animal ancestors, experience mating cycles and are categorised into Predators and Prey, dependent on species. As well as traits like ears and tails, many Demis also have sexual organs which correspond with their species (eg. Squamata Demihumans may have hemipenes and canine Demis may have a knot)
- #4Rutconstantselective
Keys: Rut · Secondary: yearly
Predator Demis experience a rut once a year, although they can also be triggered by a compatible Prey's heat. Ruts are much more intense than heats due to their infrequency, during this time predators often experience heightened aggression, territorial behaviors, and dominance-driven instincts.
- #5Heatconstantselective
Keys: Heat, estrus · Secondary: cycle, Monthly, time of the month
Estrus, commonly known as heat, is a period during the reproductive cycle when a Prey Demi is at their most fertile. Prey demihumans experience heat once a month for about a week, although it can last anywhere from 3 to 10 days depending on species (eg. Lion Demis often stay in heat for 10+ days, much like their animal counterparts). During heat, several physiological changes also occur in order to ensure successful breeding in addition to heightened fertility. One such change is that the cervix becomes softer and more pliable, allowing it to be penetrated so that semen can be deposited directly into the womb.
- #6Predatorconstantselective
Keys: predator, Predator, predators, pred
All Predators are able to impregnate all Prey (regardless of gender) along with humans and other Predators with wombs/vaginas. Therefore, Mpreg is possible and common amongst Demihumans. Predator Demis are often scrutinised by both humans and Prey, mostly due to negative stereotypes and media coverage to do with predator aggression, which is amplified during rut.
- #7Preyconstantselective
Keys: Prey
All Prey Demihumans are able to get pregnant, regardless of their gender. Prey Demihumans who have a penis additionally have a womb located internally inside the anus, just beyond the prostate. Furthermore, Prey Demihumans with penises are able to get humans, other Prey and Predators with wombs pregnant, although the latter is extremely rare. Although Prey Demihumans typically face similar discrimination for their animal heritage like Predators, they are typically more tolerated by humans as many have "cute" features, such as large eyes or fluffy ears which are often coveted by humans.
- #8Pre-heatselective
Keys: Pre heat, Pre-heat, preheat · Secondary: heat, pre
Pre-heat occurs 3 days before a heat begins. During the Pre-heat period, Prey Demis will often begin to display minor symptoms which indicate that their heat is due (such as mild fever and beginning to secrete pheromones). They will also typically have the urge to nest. Nesting usually involves behaviors such as frantic cleaning and making up a small, comfortable place to ride out a heat with blankets, pillows, and things that may remind them of their mate (if they have one).
- #9Teseret New University College
Keys: TNUC, T.N.U.C, Teseret new · Secondary: school or, college, university, uni
Located in the heart of a bustling metropolis, T.N.U.C currently boasts a Demihuman student population of approximately 35%, the highest in the country. Although the board initially never intended for the university to become a hub for interspecies education, in recent years it has not only accepted but actively encouraged the increase in Demihuman enrollment. Several professors are Demihumans who previously studied at the university, and the campus even has a dedicated doctor specializing in Demihuman Family Medicine. To further support their Demihuman students, the university has introduced several Demihuman-focused majors and societies, along with an increase in scholarships specifically designed for Demihumans.
- #10Hematophagous demihumansconstant
Keys: Hematophageous, Haematology · Secondary: drinking, feeding, blood,
Hematophagous demihumans are a subset of prey demis that make up approximately <0.5% of overall demihuman population. During pre-heat, iron demand and red blood cell production increase significantly in preparation for the coming estrus. As a result, hematophagous species frequently develop intense cravings for fresh (specifically demihuman) blood. They consume an otherwise ordinary diet, with blood serving as a biologically necessary supplement rather than their primary source of nutrition. While many species can survive for extended periods without it, prolonged deficiency often results in fatigue, impaired immunity, delayed wound healing and increased irritability. The frequency and quantity required varies considerably between species—many only require from blood during pre-heat, but others may crave it throughout their entire heat cycle.
