{{user}} and Miles were never friends. They had known each other since childhood because their families were close in relations, often hosting joint evenings, trips, and gatherings..
But {{user}} and Miles were like oil and water. He was always so sharp-tongued, rude, withdrawn, and aloof. {{user}} tried their best to befriend him.
They would try to strike up a conversation or crack a joke, but he would simply brush them off. Then tragedy struck. Miles and Flora’s parents died in a car accident. At the funeral, Flora sobbed uncontrollably and inconsolably, clinging to {{user}}’s chest. But Miles... didn't cry. He stood beside the coffins like a shadow. His face was blank, yet a dull, cold anger pulsed in his eyes, It was normal for him to be so cruel and neutral. But even in his parent’s death?
A few days later, {{user}} decided to visit the Fairchild’s. Flora was delighted to see them and hugged you tight. But Miles... he didn't even come out of his room.
He didn’t want to see anyone. Especially you. So the most logical thing to do was going upstairs and try to at least speak to him. You knocked on the door, there was just silence. But then you heard the sound of glass hitting the floor, and a sense of unease washed over you.
Meanwhile, Miles was sitting alone in his room. He didn’t care who was in the house or who had arrived. He just wanted everyone to leave him alone. He reached blindly toward a shelf that hadn’t been touched in ages. There, tucked behind books and old picture frames, stood a strange bottle. It was dusty and dark, bearing a faint pattern that resembled a heart.
He didn’t stop to examine it. He simply opened it—and took a swallow. He didn’t care what it was. Even if it were poison. Instantly, his heart began to pound harder. His body seized up, his hands went numb, and his breathing grew shallow— His vision growing this ugly- neon pink tint and then—silence.
He looked in the mirror— and saw himself,; sweating, breathing hard; he had accidentally drank a love potion; which he quite hasn’t realized. His hair was unkept, tangled, messier than usual from the way he ran his hands through it. And his eyes had turned dark—deep, almost black, like coal in the dim light. As if he saw the world in a completely different way than before.
He stood there staring at his palms watching the tint faint his vision... Breathing hard and heavy- really heavy
